Art League instructor Gretchen Raber (www.gretchenrab...) demonstrates how to create a sterling silver ring by carving a model in wax. Part 1 shows the process of cutting a ring on the lathe. Part 2 shows how to transfer a design onto the wax, carve the wax, and how to finish the sterling silver ring after it's come back from being cast.

I’d never think of using matte sticky tape, Im going to try this tip and design. Thank you very much
Can i get any recommendations about what polish compound will give me that kind of effect?
So awesome!
todo esta bien, solo tengo un pero, usa muchas funciones para una pieza
Thank you!
Hello! Great video, thank you!
Which electric graver do you use? I have seen that one multiple times and it seems like a good one.
Thank you!
Perfect!!!!!!
Great demo!
can a pattern such as this one be cast in sand or clay?
Hello, do you have any recommendations for affordable casters (someone to cast my wax piece for me and won't over charge me for the materials)?
Can't you also cut the wax with a saw as would you with metal?
Yes you can, but you will need blades with bigger teeth. Some stores sells blades for wax.
hopefully this isn't to dumb of a question what's the point of making a wax ring.. why not use that silver clay and make it out of that
silver clay is expensive and it shrinks when burned.
Apart from that nowadays casters can simply copy the wax ring so you can make an infinite number after making one model. :)

The silver clay is a less dense and weaker material than sterling silver.
