As someone with super small hands i can say that using the palm to help with the control made my life a lot easier, the control that you can get using the palm at the start of the shot is super helpfull
Ok so for everyone watching and clicks off to try it before the end he said that if you already have a good shooting technique and you can get it consistent and in games without getting blocked you don't have to change it...but you could experiment.
I use my palm. It’s an inertial movement from the bottom position up to the release. I get a high arch and impacts my 3pt shoots (it’s a long travel from my hand up to the rim). Great video!!!! Note: I always played at the park or at school for fun. Never had an instructor for shots.
This is so amazing, just yesterday I was practicing by myself and trying to figure out what works for me and I realised when the ball touched my Palm, I had perfect scores but this totally contradicted what I learnt from online couches.
MY WHOLE LIFE PLAYING BBALL I'VE BEEN SHOOTING THE BALL WITH MY FINGERS AND RECENTLY FOUND BETTER HAND PLACEMENT USING MY PALM WHILE SHOOTING 3s NONSTOP FOR 6 HOURS(I know, gotta pump those numbers up)! I KNEW IT! PALM SHOTS!! THANK YOUU!
I shot with a space between my palm not knowing it was correct and then I saw a picture of Stephen Curry shooting with no space and I thought I had been doing it wrong. I started practicing shooting like that and was frustrated when I was trash 🗑️. Thanks for the correction
What muscles should you work on, to get a better smoother jumpshots. Like kobe said. focus more on your legs to always have power to make jumpshots. can you suggest us what type of exercises would that be?
Crazy enough this might seem controversial, but your knees pointing inward your jumpshot allows for internal rotation of the hips. The hips are the most powerful muscles and this engages them in the jumpshot KD, Curry, Kyrie james harden , Reggie miller, Even Michael Jordan all did it. Also your something coaches brainwash you with is your shot should the same always. This is only partially true. When you wanna shoot from deeper range, a lower “set point” one motion shot like curry or Damian Lillard and Trae young is ideal. From mid range a high “set point” is key as most people have the strength to shoot the basketball using only the strength of their arm Kobe and Kyrie are examples of this. Last but not least all great shooters use the “turn” or feet tilt. Do not “SQUARE UP” this is false information passed through generations by coaches wich comes from a time where the “set shot” was popular and a “jumpshot” came after but still kept old terminology. It makes your body and shoulder really uncomfortable and gives that “chicken wing”. Google it if you don’t believe any of this. You should have your shooting side foot slightly in front of the other. ( i.e if right handed right foot in front of left foot ) Klay Thompson talked about this in a video.
Nope, it makes it easier in fact. You can get your hands closer to the ground, so the ball is in your hand for longer. It's also easier to extend on fakes. What makes it harder to dribble is being tall
Yo, i have a request. Im 5'5 and i cant get past tall players much. Since im around Muggsy Bougues height, and i love the way he plays, can you make a video on how to play like muggsy Bogues or atleast showcasing some of his moves so i can copy them? Thanks
I used to score 30/30 threes, consistently. 6 months ago I switched to holding the ball with more of my palm, I now can't make 5 in a row. I'm not sure what the root cause is. I had a broken joint in my right hand a few years ago, that forces my pinky to bend abit more, maybe that's it, but I'm definitley going back to holding the ball with my fingers more.
Dame gets hang nails that's why he shoots like that sometimes, I imagine it probably hurts. Watch him on the bench it looks like he's chewing his finger nails but he's biting hang nails lol... kinda weird but it's facts 🤷
I was a good shooter but my coach kept telling me to use my palm when shooting and that he wouldn't play me if I didnt and now I almost never shoot a medium shot perfectly its so annoying

There are different “setups”.

I think is important to have a gap, between the hand and the ball because if you dont have a gap it will grip the ball and it will affect tje shot.

@@jdmdamian Thank you, appreciate the tips
I shoot 3x better with this hack. Went from missing every shot to 2-3x shots in a row almost every time. It's crazy.
Everyone is first until they refresh 😆
😂
Man 😭😭💯
😂😭😭
they also say no palms when handling the ball... but sometimes it helps big times
I noticed when I put my palm into the mix I get less rotation and lower arch anybody else? Any advice?
Hey. I have a question and I would appreciate an answer but it's unlikely so anyone can answer. Does long arms make it harder to dribble?

Just closely study the footage of him playing. Trust me, understanding his play style yourself will help you implement it in your game.
watch filipinos play bro you might get something
If your that size u have to work on your speed
Shooting the basketball not touching the palm get much control on it
None of those guys shoot with their palm. Those pics LOOK that way but the ball is resting on their finger pads.

💯
coach what is your best handles program that tackles everything about handles? Speed, control, stance, shiftiness, etc.
MEGA Game System, without question

Beard game strong! Now if you had some gains it would even look better 🏋️💪🏼
i think they use the palm to help the ball get into the right position, but when they shoot... it's all fingers again
Your videos are helpful 👍
great fan of u sirrr
Hey coach what are some ball handling and footwork drills I can do?
There's still space though
Thanks
I like this tutorial for basket..
Great job 🏀🏀🏀🏀

Hello💪
Your palm should not touch the ball when shooting (I think) I shot 80% from three this szn
But whatever floats the players boat 💪🏾😁
