  • The CIELO is the modern progression from the historical ring sundial, the only portable sundial which can be used for any latitude in the world. It is an all-in-one instrument combining a solar compass, an absolutely accurate time instrument and a model of the sky, clearly demonstrating the origin of time measurement from a cosmic point of view.

in the animation, at 0:41, you should simulate the _actual_ sun shadow: it would have a fuzzy edge because the sun subtends a 1/2 degree angle, so that in real life there is always a tolerance and error in any measurement.

The moon’s orbit is not precisely parallel to Earth’s equator - it’s offset 5°9’ to the ecliptic. If our moon’s orbit was actually parallel to Earth’s equator we would have both total lunar and total solar eclipses each and every month.

It's incredible. I wish I had enough money that I could buy something this useless.

BS. I can put a stick in the ground and determine time and direction anywhere in the world without the need to even know a latitude exists.

If the shadow of the stick is the shortest, it is noon and the sun is in the south. The rest of the day it is not possible to determine the time by this method.

I was being facetious. You make the claim your device is the "only portable sundial which can be used for any latitude in the world" and that is simply Not true. There are many of different sundial designs that allow you to adjust for your latitude and thats only needed if you want a really accurate reading, otherwise you just get a general Local Area Time which still works for most folks purposes. There are even tons of DIY plans so you can make such sundials yourself. I'm sure you have a fine instrument but there is no need to lie to make sales.

@@DivergentDroid Yes, absolutely,! You can drive from point A to B in any car, but some prefer to do it in a Ferrari!

@@DivergentDroid There's also the Kala pocket sundial at a tenth of the price, and it looks more sturdy too.
