    I'm no sundial expert, but I've been reading into the field. Your explanation was very clear, and one of the few I've seen that does not leave me thinking, "yeah, but ..." after watching! The only thing I don't get is why, if you're making it for a specific location, you do not include the longitude correction on the dial face -- so in this example you would not need to subtract the 13 minutes. Very clean design and well built. Cool.

    Wouldn't this calibration for the compass be off after a few years due to magnetic pole shift speeding up the last few decades?
