I can at least get behind the reason that Hinata was inspired by Naruto’s tenacity to better his own situation in spite of his circumstance, due to her own insecurities of not being good enough for her branch of the Hyuga clan and as an individual. Regardless of how things played out I can at least appreciate that aspect in particular.
Number one for me is Tsunade love how she was the foil to Naruto in part 1 and the whole being powerful enough to become the hokage and not wanting it due to her brother and past lover dreams and ultimately getting killed only to develop a fear of blood as well and having to over come that in order to protect Naruto from orochimaru
Tsunade and Lady Chiyo are like the only women who were written fantastically though and though. I guess Kushina as well, she was a caring mother, but I wouldn't say she is an amazing female character. And Konan had potential to be one of the best, but they wasted her and killed her too soon, and she barely did anything memorable when she was in the akatsuki.
@@Picmanreborn and there is a difference. Rin was already dead before naruto started, she was just a plot device to influence obito and kakashi's lives. Konan had more potential than rin, because she was a member of the akatsuki, nonetheless kishimoto missed the mark and killed her too early and barely shown anything of her.
The problems with Sakura I think stem from naruto and Sasuke power cliffing her into oblivion. They're supposed to be the main 3 but they can't stand on equal footing when two are reincarnations of indra and ashura and then Sakura is also there.
Yes this, naruto, sasuke and sakura start off from the same place but end up way different. That's actually my issue with sakura. I just feel like she was such a missed opportunity. I honestly feel like kishimoto didn't know what to do with hinata at all and had some ideas for sakura but then backed out of it because again, he didn't what to do with her besides that
Sakura could’ve been there without being a reincarnation of a god,she could’ve represented humanity in contrast to Naruto and Sasuke's godly power, and she needed more than 1 arc at least 2 to fight maybe Kabuto and during Pain invasion take down one of the Pains instead of her just supporting Naruto. She could’ve investigated Danzo's trying to ursurp Tsunade's place as Hokage questioned the leaf village motifs, etc. We could’ve had it all, the story line could’ve been better than power ups, honestly.

I'm actually all for sakura not being a demi god but having a different kind of strength. She demonstrated that she's actually really smart and skilled but we never explore that. @@fellowkrieger457I like this. Of course Neji could survive if he wasn't forgotten about in Shippuden. But then again, his character arc was finished at the end of the Kidomaru fight. Hinata too is well written in Part 1 and is done dirty in Shippuden. I like the idea of Neji dying (and you could do the same "I chose to die" stick of fighting against destiny bc he would've died for the Sasuke mission, for his friends, not for the clan) and then Hinata becoming the Hyuga prodigy. Of course then she would need to have a bigger impact on the series in Shippuden and more screentime. Her character arc always felt unfinished because we never see the "better person" she wanted to become beyond her fight with Neji. The closest thing is her declaring her love for Naruto and sacrificing herself to try and save him, but that's almost as short as her fight with Pain. I'd like to see Hinata develop more confidence and self esteem (but not as sassy and over the top as in Road to Ninja) and even act more as the heiress of the Hyuga clan (or even clan leader if Hiashi died at some point??). Naruto promised he would change the Hyuga clan's "serfdom" of the secondary branch when he bacame Hokage. That also went unaddressed. Hinata could do something to this end, or start to do it, even in Shippuden, specially since in this scenario Neji had died. One problem is that this would take away the protagonism of Naruto and Sasuke, unless you tied it to one of them like Shikamaru's arc is tied to Naruto learning the Rasenshuriken. Another problem is that it would tank the pacing of the story. But sure, if you killed off Chouji, Neji and Kiba at the end of Part 1, you could give some screentime and development some of the other Konoha 11 like Hinata and Lee. But how to develop Lee beyond the surgery is a whole other can of worms.
The only way kishimoto could write well written women would be if he drew the whole manga with only male character in it, and then, he randomly changed the genders of a few of them.

People say that Kishi can't write women not just because of the individual characters but as how they behave as a collective and still fall in several tropes, it's pretty clear when you look at some of Kishi's other works
Something about kushinas intro gets me every time. I really like her because she just really fulfills the role shes meant to at that point of the story. She's so nice but also not a push over, she had dreams outside of "marring a cute guy", her speech to naruto just really sets my heart ablaze and reminds me of the definition of a supportive woman. I think tsunade is cool too, i just wish she was shown more love in the story. I like temaris personality but honestly she really did nothing
Idk, I mean tsunade was written perfectly, but she did became a little less relevant after the search for tsunade arc. But she risked her life to save the people from the pain attack, and even went to fight madara knowing fully well she has no chance of winning

We know she was confronted by pain and healed the villagers at the same time and I wish we got to see that, I always assumed there was an off screen fight between them. But even then, she doesn't really do too much after that up until the war. For the amount of story there is tsunade is in so little of it outside of asigning missions. I also don't like how weak she seemingly is compared to the other sannin at times.
And in the end her dreams and goals means nothing; she is a damsel in distress the moment something happens and ends up a housewife. The Jinchuriki of the most powerful tailed beast, a genius of sealing Jutsu becomes a housewife and was overshadowed completely by everyone else .
THIS THIS THIS. How tf are you a perfect jinchuriki (or at least close to it since she could fully transform into Matatabi) and get fucking bodied by Kakuzu and Hidan. I know they aren't weak but c'mon... it was such a cop out. If she lived could've been a really interesting intro into the Hidden Cloud village + the power of near and perfect jinchurikis and what Naruto could logically strive for etc. I think Kishi missed out on a lot of the world building in Naruto by shafting so many supporting characters. It's always a shame to write in someone logically really powerful only to use them as fodder to establish how powerful someone else is. It's lazy. Yugito would've been better alive but if he had to kill her because _insert some asspull reason here_ at least give her some more screen time ffs.
Tsunade and Chiyo are by far the best written women and Kishimoto’s excuse for not being able to write women is just complete nonsense. People have said it time and time again: ignore them being women???? It’s definitely not hard it’s such a shame it’s one of the biggest aspects holding this series back when it should be a nonexistent issue 🙄

@@SuperPianogirl123 The Yamanaka had to be kept down. Imagine if they took Inoichi to every Akatsuki fight and had him use one of his possession jutsu on them to make them fight with each other. It's why Kishi turned him into wifi, made Fu complete fodder, and Ino into a very pretty paperweight.
I hope you realise that Konoha 11 aren't the only side characters in Naruto. Not to mention, Kishi gave enough screentime and development to the characters in the Konoha 11 that are necessary to push the narrative of the story like Rock Lee, Shikamaru, Neji, Hinata, etc. And the characters that were left out from the group like Tenten, Shino and Kiba- these characters had no potential to begin with, nor did they add anything to the narrative so why would he even bother to waste his time on these characters? They're basically background characters.

It was her way of reactively explaining away what she thought was Naruto's dumb disruptive behavior, in the context of her being annoyed about Naruto still being considered an important subject for her to focus on at a time when she just wanted to get her kiss with Sasuke. She was basically just acting like a relatively sheltered young teen with no real frame of reference or context for understanding Naruto's actions yet, which is normal for kids her age, even when they say ignorant things. The fake confession was a product of Sai guilting her into believing Naruto's suffering was all or mostly her fault, when it wasn't, and Sai's assessment wasn't accurate.
Unpopular opinion, I don’t see anything wrong with sakura shouting out for naruto during the pain arc. Considering the fact that pain managed to make kakashi die, weakened tsunade to the point that she couldn’t fight pain, and destroyed the entire leaf, you can’t blame her for desperately wanting naruto to come back from his sage training since he was the only one who could stop pain at that point
I remember years ago she got so much hate for that. Like cmon, its just the typical anime moment when the main heroine/close friend of the mc screams his name. It happens is so many stories. On top of that everyone was dying around her and she tried to do what she could for save people,her town was wiped out with everyone she knows living there. Hinata is only praised cause she centers around Naruto. Neji dying just for Hinata to have a moment with Naruto is awful writing. Sure, let's kill the lower branch slave for the main heiress to use him as a wingman. Neji literally died like his father. Hinata literally jumped to die for Naruto again when the spikes were coming.... Kishimoto killed Neji for b.s. Hinata only served as a princess character for the hero have babies with. What's even worse is the fact Naruto had feelings for Sakura for years. Sakura should've been allowed to move on from Sasuke and mature. Allowed detachment from being infatuated with him and have personal realizations. Kishimoto had her confess during the land of iron arc and its taken as a complete lie, but it wasn't. It was a grey confession. Naruto had to made into a hypocrite and put into a genjutsu to even pay attention to Hinata. The last fanfic didn't feel natural. Hinata never even reconfessed. And instead of getting a solid after the war film about Team 7 reconstructing their relationships and the world of Naruto....we get a forced ass romance. One that just soured the fanbase. Hinata's only goal was to be with Naruto and her fans literally fight against the claim tooth and nail. Lol She did nothing for her clan, nothing for Neji nor did Kishimoto ever portray jer struggling as an unwanted heiress, because of her perceived weakness. It's shameful fanfiction does a better job of actually expressing a more nuanced and realistic version of Naruto, then Kishimoto ever could. Boruto feels lackluster, fake and lifeless cause the couples don't fit nor carry the series. There's no real dynamic energy there. It makes more sense Madara won and everyone is sharing one gigantic freaking dream. Also, you forgot to mention Sakura pumped Naruto's heart, gave him CPR and shared that moment with him regarding his dreams. That felt more impactful and authentic than Hinata rubbing Naruto's face. Cause why would Naruto break down after losing Jiraiya, hundreds...if not thousands of ninja being killed and the stake of the world is in balance due to one of ideological differences and him facing a dark reality. When his whole entire life is a dark reality and the world they live in is unforgiving, but there are still aspects of light.
it's sad to me cause female naruto chars always feel like good starts and some good moments but then always fall flat or like a chunk is just missing. I do think hinatas biggest favor is she doesn't really ever have bad moments while sakura has a few that are at the front of everyone's minds
I think Hinata should have had way more screentime and development throughout the series. I wish her relationship with Naruto wasn't so one sided. I'm not saying they should have been dating but I feel like Naruto should have definitely began to notice Hinata after the Pain arc.

I’ve been saying it for years: Sakura overall is better written than Hinata. What does Hinata actual accomplish? Nearly getting herself killed multiple times to impress Naruto? Yeah Sakura isn’t a perfect 10/10, she doesn’t do much for most of Shippudden, but SHE’S NOT SUPPOSED TO. Sakura may be physically powerful, but she’s also a medical ninja. She’s not supposed to fight unless she’s the only one left, and that’s coming from TSUNADE. The only time a medical ninja is allowed to fight on the front lines, is when they’ve completed the Byakuyo seal. And what’s the first thing Sakura does after accomplishing that? SHE NUKES THE BATTLEFIELD WITH MINIMAL EFFORT. Hinata kept Naruto’s spirit in the fight, but Sakura kept his spirit in his literal body. This mad-lass cut him open, and manually pumped his heart and used mouth-to-mouth to keep air in his lungs. And if we wanna get into who’s a better fighter, tell me, how many wins does Hinata have? Personally, I can’t think of any. She lost to Neji, didn’t fight ANYONE again until Pain, which she got bodied their too. Then who does she fight one on one after that? NOBODY? If you ask me, Hinata should have fought Kidomaru in the Sasuke Retrieval arc, or at least shown up part way through to help. At least then she could have proven her worth and redeemed herself. Especially since Neji already had his arc and finished it in the Chunin Exams. I’m sorry man, I just personally can’t stand Hinata. She’s WAY too overrated. Hell, TENTEN accomplished more than she did. At least she WON a fight. Against herself, but Jesus Hinata probably would have lost that too! INO does more than Hinata. She tied with Sakura in the Chunin Exams, jumped in with her team to save Sakura from Team Dosu in the Forest of Death, helped in the fight with Hidan and Kakuzu, and was instrumental in fighting off Obito and Madara until the ASF HQ got blown up by the Ten Tails, helping her dad and Shikaku coordinate the ASF. Best Girl Tsunade speaks for herself. Shizune doesn’t really do much, but she did hold her own against Kabuto, who at the time was comparable to Kakashi, a high level Jonin that even other Kage highly respected. Honestly as I’m typing this, I’m just convincing myself more and more that Hinata is more Plot Device than she is a character. I’m done ranting now lol

Hinata came out of a prestigious clan and was born with cool abilities and she still useless and she couldn’t really use her abilities properly while Sakura was born with any abilities and achieved to be Tsunade’s student and also healed so many people.

Okay a little off topic but on the note of Hinata trying to free Naruto from the rods, that moment always bothered me a little because she wasn't even pulling them out she was just smashing the top of them like I don't think that was actually helping
That’s probably not a good choice to pull them out cause Naruto can lose more blood that way since the rods are so deep inside him without proper medical attention to heal them which I don’t believe Hinata can do.
All women in Naruto fall victim to a lot of really hurtful tropes and writing weaknesses. even Tsunade which a lot of people like to use an example of a cool and well written woman in Naruto still suffers from a lot of stuff due to Kishimoto's seemingly inability to write women (we all know the joke).
For example, Tsunade took a lot of her major decisions based on the men around her, including Naruto. Her backstory going by the account of others is just Sakura's with slightly more stakes and she was handed Hokage mostly out of nepotism, because Jiraiya was supposed to be Hokage and her relation to the previous Hokage.

She has her own feats. She had male influences sure, but that doesn't take away from her accomplishments.

The issue is that Sakura has a personality of an archaic tsundere. The idea is that the tsundere wants the guy that they like to be a better person and mature. However, Sakura’s true love is Sasuke. Their dynamic would never work. Ironically, sasuke’s archetype tends to have a more gentle love internet archetype. A sweet and gentle woman that is there for her man to sooth his sorrows. I find it bizarre that Kishimoto took the idiot hot head jerk with a heart of gold and put him together with a sweet soothing Japanese looking girl while also taking a brooding boy and tsundere as another couple. I believe Kishimoto got his tropes mixed up.
Thank you!!! 💜 We see this in K Drama's as well. Sakura was written to fit with Naruto. The entire heaven and earth argument or example from Kakashi fits them. Sakura is the head/heaven/mind, who is a perfectionist, preppy, studious, serious and compassionate, but also can be ruled by her emotions, because she doesn't deal with them. Sakura doesn't follow her heart to the fullest, but what others might think she should do. Or in this case....keeping her feelings for Sasuke; despite being ambivalent about them and never deals with them. Sakura stays focused. Naruto is the heart/emotions/body. He follows his guts, his intuition and learns through experience. Naruto can be charming, explosive, mercurial and capricious. He's adaptable, but is strong in body and more solid. He's not traditionally smart, but hi wisdom is more internal. Together they balance each other out and create a whole. I think the reason why Sasuke and Hinata became popular as a ship is because of the traditional dynamics. Sasuhina fits and often have really compelling stories. Hinata feels raw and real around Sasuke w/o forcing him to be something he's not. She doesn't irritate him past a point and softens gradually around her. This ship is seen as crack, but makes tons more sense once clans, attitudes and politics are taken into consideration. Naruto gets under Sakura's skin and reminds her to live. Often flirting, protecting and tempting her. While Sakura tries to maintain decorum, but has a passion that attracts Naruto, and forces Naruto to mature in ways that eventually trips her up to shift their power dynamic...two people who are an alternative mirror of Minato and Kushina, a culmination of Tsunade and Jiraiya w/o a forced narrative. That's why NaruHina feels lifeless and Hinata's a ghost in her own household with very little sway, but to be outshined by her spouse and codependent. Leaving Naruto a workaholic who trusts Sasuke more than his spouse. Or the sad relationship with Sakura basically being a single mother; while Sasuke does everything in his power to avoid his household.
See kishimoto could write female characters well...Sakura,konan,granny chiyo,tsunade are some of the well written ones, the issue is Kishimoto couldn't do justice for "Side characters" in general Neji,lee and other good potential were wasted because the main characters and villians were too overpowered
I think hinata's character is what a male would fantasize about like the shy ,timid ,soft spoken , housewife material meanwhile Sakura's character is based on an actual living female ( Kishimoto's wife)
No, as a matter of fact Sakura is not portrait as a living female. Her obsession is all about Sasuke, which I think such a waste of considering how interesting her character are. I mean my girl developed a sense of justice to protect Naruto, show respect for Rock Lee, her relationship with others girl. And with all of that she could have had a more complex characteristic, but no, we got “girl who don’t have a long-term love for their first crush is bad” and tied her up to Sasuke which in my opinion is a degeneration for both parties.
I agree that a ton of people say that, but I think the real issue is that people don't think about the root problem and don't articulate their thoughts well enough. A better statement would be that Sakura's potential was wasted.
There are a lot of other motives to hate Sakura and characters in general besides their "usefullness" and power level. Their personality, intentions & decisions, inteligence development and so on... Lee for example is normally a well-loved character, and his best moment I believe is considered to be when he fought Gaara. Was he "usefull" there?

People only think Sakura’s useless because they don’t understand a support role, and want her to be a power house, punching the shit out of everything and everyone all the time like in the gaara rescue arc. I’ll admit she could have been written much better, and in part 1 she was annoying af and absolutely useless. But she came in strong after the timeskip, and by the end of the war arc she had surpassed Tsunade, just like Sasuke and Naruto had already surpassed Orochimaru and Jiraiya. Just because she wasn’t a literal God at the end of the series like Naruto and Sasuke doesn’t mean she’s weak. At the end of the war arc I’d say Sakura easily stomps out just about every other member of the Konoha 12. Also keep in mind that Sakura’s parents weren’t even Shinobi, and she didn’t have any kind of insane power up handed to her. In the war arc take away Kurama, and Sasuke’s rinnesharingan and tell me how they stack up against each other after that😂

I have said it once and I'll say it again, i don't genuinely think Sakura is useless by any means. When i call her useless it's not because she has literally no use, it's because of her almost never getting to do anything cool on screen, or having a genuine moment to shine lonver than a panel or a few seconds. Even when she does get a cool fight, like against Sasori, it's then downplayed later showing that he wanted to lose and was holding back. Which makes sense for the character and makes them better, it still makes it less meaningful and cool for Sakura. Then she says really stupid and outrageous shit for next to no reason all the time, which adds onto the frustration. Especially when she's suposed to be a super intelligent character who is very learned. While minor, the acts of violence towards MC does also add a slight bit to the frustration. At least with Hinata, while i understand her contribution is very little, she is implied to do well with her team and a decent bit of her onscreen moments are adorable or meaningul emotionally. This makes me enjoy them far more than i could ever Sakura.
I never understood why Sasori changed his mind in the last moment that he needed to die ... Just why ?? To get a hug from mother and father ? It sounds poetic and sad but makes no sense... Why was he fighting for so long then ?? And most of Sakura's outrageous dialogues are added in the anime to make her less likeable, that , and her constantly hitting Naruto which she only did a few times in manga when Naruto made obscene jokes at her expense .
Kishimoto's problem might be localized to writing young women. Tsunade is great, Chiyo is great, Konan was close to being really good but had almost zero screen time outside of her fight with Obito; even Saori from Mario is a great female character and she is from a manga before Naruto. There's a pattern here.
I'll say this, hear me out, there's a theory that haku is a girl, basically because her village had creepy men who Harassed and used woman and kids for dirty things, she disguised herself as a guy, possibly to look stronf as well, be the ninja tool for zabuza, theres a video on it, but yea you're right the older females are well written, if orochimaru in the forest of death stayed as a female i guess that would count but hes a guy 🗣️
The reason videos like this exist for Naruto and not jjk or Bleach or One Piece. Is because Naruto has good ideas and terrible execution. It was fortunate enough to pop off and get the 2nd most popular spot next to One Piece. But it doesnt deserve it. It has terrible female characters. Too much talking. Too much ass pull power ups. Went on for way too long. Full of cool stuff with no reasoning. Remember the susano tailed fox mode with multiple rasengans? That was really cool but it has no weight. Its just a cool looking blast. The thing I don’t like about Hinata was she lacked initiative when it came to her relationship with Naruto. She confesses once and then proceeds to do nothing about it for over 2 years, expecting Naruto to actually take the hint and it’s only after she ends up getting kidnapped by Tonari and Sakura convincing Naruto that he never actually loved her that their relationship goes anywhere. Why not bring it back up immediately after the war and start things off on the right foot?

Side characters should get the chance to shine. Otherwise, why the hell did you introduce them? It's not a hard concept to understand. The world is far bigger than the main character. Yes we're mostly seeing things from their pov but a main character can only shine their best with a stellar side cast. It's one of Naruto's biggest weaknesses. I honestly can't stand hinata because in addition to all her problems as a character, she also has so many problems as naruto's love interest. I'll talk about the manga here and not the last movie( because it is bad and contradicts so many things) As a character she doesn't grow, she stands up once in the chunin exams, gets decked out and then we never see her actually become stronger. Also 99% of the time she isn't shown to actually care about anyone other than Naruto. And even then, when he was suffering, she just stood behind a tree and watched. Compare that to ino, who when seeing sakura get bullied, helps her, or sasuke when he defends naruto when sakura badmouths him, or naruto himself who helps gaara, konohamaru, sasuke and many others. Neji had to die for HER? As Naruto's future partner these traits are just not it. I feel bad for Naruto, because he's stuck with this obsessed fangirl like sasuke, and isn't happy like shown in boruto. Hinata and Naruto have zero development whatsoever, she freaking CONFESSES and he still doesn't care. She doesn't help him in his journey or anything else. Their relationship fails in development and chemistry.

tbh I never understood the fans of either character. To me Hinata was at her best in the fight against Neji. Neji exposed her, but it was necessary so she could grow from it, even if she lost (and boy did she lose). Sakura supposedly had an arc like this in the forest when Naruto, Sasuke, and Lee were out of commission, but it went . . . okay. They revamped it for Sakura vs Ino for some reason, but i didnt care as much anymore. I think those two parts are my favorite for each character. Didn't care for anything they did in Shippuden. I just hate that Hinata has to constantly be reassured and have her hand held even in the middle of a war. i disagree, HInata unlike Sakura did not get ample screen time so while they seem similar, Sakura getting hate for what Hinata gets praised for has different nuance. I think that's my main issue with Shippuden. Shippuden is meant to be Naruto, for grown ups or older teens. Yet, the main cast very rarely takes lives of other shinobi (aside from the Akatsuki). Shippuden, despite its powerups, doesn't feel like as mature or complex of a story. Moral questions (like domestic abuse) aren't investigated. The morality of the hidden Leaf and broader ninja system isn't interrogated again until much too late in the story (mainly with Pain and Itachi's backgrounds). I know Naruto isn't a Seinin, but if you WANNA introduce romance, have that shit look messy and ugly as it can be in real life, introduce plot twists. This is why i say Dygo's rewrite is so awesome. It feels like Naruto, for grownups. Had a little more maturity been introduced, it would be so much better.
The closest Shippuden gets to those adult themes is some of the political stuff with danzo and the leaf but that's not even explored as much as it should have and was left for the anime to fill the holes.
Honestly it’s definitely opinion based but I would rather have Hinata that doesn’t do many things in the story but is a good person. Sakura is useful, sure, but she’s just an awful human being. Mainly her putting all the work on Naruto to bring Sasuke back then trying to Emotionally manipulate Naruto by telling him she loves him so he won’t go after Sasuke anymore. You said at the beginning that Kishimoto can’t write women, which is true, however the problem is what we see of Sakura is she’s emotionally abusive and Hinata just has barely any screen time. Think a big theme of naruto in shippuden was just fixing the world and solutions and to be honest like it did feel realistic to the standards of real life where men are usual the better fighters and tsunade was an inspiration to female characters but you have to take into account that naruto has the nine tail fox and sasuke travels a path of darkness and gifted genes to gain power so of course compared to Sakura a natural fighter just like the other rookie 12 can’t match up if you take a natural sasuke and a natural naruto well we saw what happened neji died because of naruto so the reality is of course hinata comes off better cuz to guys that’s what they want in a girl but from a female perspective they’ll look up to someone more inspirational and I think as they should Sakura is stronger then hinata and from a female perspective should want to be more then just a house wife.
Kishimoto knows how to write female character. The problem he doesn't know how do write normal characters , how to write for female. Shonen is mostly written for young man and booth female and male enjoy diferent elements of story

Both characters are poorly written, but I think people like Hinata more because she was actually nice to Naruto ( when she could actually talk to him) while Sakura actively made fun of Naruto and while sususaki also made fun of Naruto he could at least hold his own during the start of the show. Neither Hinata nor Sakura lived up to there potential. We are told in the beginning that Sakura has exceptional chakra control and would do well with genjutsu , nothing ever comes of that , and Hinata has the Byakugan. The Hyuga where never used to there potential either. We got hype for characters like Tenten and Neji and nothing to show for it. I think the biggest problem the story has is the author rarely finished an idea so many expositions lead to nothing. Like how the Byakugan is stronger than the sharingon and then all of a sudden every Uchiha is a hax god and the Hyuga are barely used, sorry more of a tangent than I wanted go on

That blind coping of scenes and original Kishimoto-sensei motives by Simprot(aka simp PIERROT) made Hyuuga girl MUCH more pitiful, as her fandom try to blown her to Sasuke's, or even bigger proportions. 🤷🏻♀️ Even when Kishimoto proposed characters design in THE LAST and gave Sasuke red scarf matching Naruto's, PIERROT stolen it and gave Hinata to build story around it. It was 'riding' Naruto's bond with Sasuke, because he got none with Hyuuga. If scenes were reduced to canon, she watched him, was inspired, fight with Neji and all... It STILL be nothing comparing to Sasuke/Naruto bond, which PIERROT knew. So studio copied any possible Sasuke/Naruto scenes. But giving this 'purple chakra' to Hinata, was final clown wig and nose, where AFTER THAT Naruto suddenly got, he 'loved her'. 😂 So, basically, PIERROT THEMSELVES made Sasuke/Naruto bond romantic, as Naruto seen Hyuuga only after brainwash, that projected his memories of SASUKE on her. And made Hyuuga fans delusions neverending. 😂😂😂

The video has good points, but it kinda of seems to consider the opinions of a "good" or "usefull" character as too much of a fact. I invite all to consider that whenever a character is leading to good scenes that enrich the story, it can be interpretable as a kind of narrative usefullness, even if the character is not achieving much in terms of usefullness to the people arround them. People like me for example, don't really care how much power a character displays, both in combat prowess or other ways to make a difference, but more on their personality and decisions. Take Lee for example, normally considered a good character by most. He didn't win against the sound genins, nor Gaara, nor Kimimaru. All his sacrifice when fighting against Gaara had "no use" as well, yet I think almost all would agree it was his best moment(like me), and many might agree it was among the best in the show(same). So for people like me, Hinata can be a good character even having a low "usefullness" in the story. While Sakura can be a bad one even if she was even more usefull than Hinata that she already was. Simply because of how annoying and poorly written she can be (her agressiviness towards Naruto and others, her ocasional dumbness, hipocrisy and lack of resolve, her terrible relation with Sasuke,...).
i feel like if the anime didnt do hinata some justice people would dislike her a lot more. that said, i love hinata and im so glad that the anime gave hinata a better goal in the pain fight. having seen hinata crush over naruto ever since the start of the series and then finally seeing her rush between naruto and pain and profess her love while desperately trying to free him so he can keep fighting was amazing. keep in mind pain at the time was a basically impossibly strong opponent who literally destroyed the entire village in one go. like thats fucking terrifying. i would literally be pissing my pants if i was hinata and yet she still rushed in to protect someone she loves. honestly thats my favorite part of the pain fight in the anime which i know is blasphemy cause so much of the pain fight is fucking awesome but i really just think that it was just that cool.

Number one for me is Tsunade love how she was the foil to Naruto in part 1 and the whole being powerful enough to become the hokage and not wanting it due to her brother and past lover dreams and ultimately getting killed only to develop a fear of blood as well and having to over come that in order to protect Naruto from orochimaru

Konan had more potential than rin, because she was a member of the akatsuki, nonetheless kishimoto missed the mark and killed her too early and barely shown anything of her.
The problems with Sakura I think stem from naruto and Sasuke power cliffing her into oblivion. They're supposed to be the main 3 but they can't stand on equal footing when two are reincarnations of indra and ashura and then Sakura is also there.
Even at the start we know how Kakashi introduced hiruzen to the 9 tails host and the last of the uchiha and Sakura was there too (*maybe)
Yes this, naruto, sasuke and sakura start off from the same place but end up way different. That's actually my issue with sakura. I just feel like she was such a missed opportunity. I honestly feel like kishimoto didn't know what to do with hinata at all and had some ideas for sakura but then backed out of it because again, he didn't what to do with her besides that
Sakura could’ve been there without being a reincarnation of a god,she could’ve represented humanity in contrast to Naruto and Sasuke's godly power, and she needed more than 1 arc at least 2 to fight maybe Kabuto and during Pain invasion take down one of the Pains instead of her just supporting Naruto. She could’ve investigated Danzo's trying to ursurp Tsunade's place as Hokage questioned the leaf village motifs, etc. We could’ve had it all, the story line could’ve been better than power ups, honestly.

Hinata too is well written in Part 1 and is done dirty in Shippuden. I like the idea of Neji dying (and you could do the same "I chose to die" stick of fighting against destiny bc he would've died for the Sasuke mission, for his friends, not for the clan) and then Hinata becoming the Hyuga prodigy. Of course then she would need to have a bigger impact on the series in Shippuden and more screentime.
Her character arc always felt unfinished because we never see the "better person" she wanted to become beyond her fight with Neji. The closest thing is her declaring her love for Naruto and sacrificing herself to try and save him, but that's almost as short as her fight with Pain.
I'd like to see Hinata develop more confidence and self esteem (but not as sassy and over the top as in Road to Ninja) and even act more as the heiress of the Hyuga clan (or even clan leader if Hiashi died at some point??).
Naruto promised he would change the Hyuga clan's "serfdom" of the secondary branch when he bacame Hokage. That also went unaddressed. Hinata could do something to this end, or start to do it, even in Shippuden, specially since in this scenario Neji had died. One problem is that this would take away the protagonism of Naruto and Sasuke, unless you tied it to one of them like Shikamaru's arc is tied to Naruto learning the Rasenshuriken. Another problem is that it would tank the pacing of the story.
But sure, if you killed off Chouji, Neji and Kiba at the end of Part 1, you could give some screentime and development some of the other Konoha 11 like Hinata and Lee. But how to develop Lee beyond the surgery is a whole other can of worms.
The only way kishimoto could write well written women would be if he drew the whole manga with only male character in it, and then, he randomly changed the genders of a few of them.

Something about kushinas intro gets me every time. I really like her because she just really fulfills the role shes meant to at that point of the story. She's so nice but also not a push over, she had dreams outside of "marring a cute guy", her speech to naruto just really sets my heart ablaze and reminds me of the definition of a supportive woman. We know she was confronted by pain and healed the villagers at the same time and I wish we got to see that, I always assumed there was an off screen fight between them. But even then, she doesn't really do too much after that up until the war. For the amount of story there is tsunade is in so little of it outside of asigning missions. I also don't like how weak she seemingly is compared to the other sannin at times.
And in the end her dreams and goals means nothing; she is a damsel in distress the moment something happens and ends up a housewife. The Jinchuriki of the most powerful tailed beast, a genius of sealing Jutsu becomes a housewife and was overshadowed completely by everyone else .

If she lived could've been a really interesting intro into the Hidden Cloud village + the power of near and perfect jinchurikis and what Naruto could logically strive for etc. I think Kishi missed out on a lot of the world building in Naruto by shafting so many supporting characters. I hope you realise that Konoha 11 aren't the only side characters in Naruto. Not to mention, Kishi gave enough screentime and development to the characters in the Konoha 11 that are necessary to push the narrative of the story like Rock Lee, Shikamaru, Neji, Hinata, etc. And the characters that were left out from the group like Tenten, Shino and Kiba- these characters had no potential to begin with, nor did they add anything to the narrative so why would he even bother to waste his time on these characters? They're basically background characters.

Unpopular opinion, I don’t see anything wrong with sakura shouting out for naruto during the pain arc. Considering the fact that pain managed to make kakashi die, weakened tsunade to the point that she couldn’t fight pain, and destroyed the entire leaf, you can’t blame her for desperately wanting naruto to come back from his sage training since he was the only one who could stop pain at that point

Hinata only served as a princess character for the hero have babies with. What's even worse is the fact Naruto had feelings for Sakura for years. Sakura should've been allowed to move on from Sasuke and mature. Allowed detachment from being infatuated with him and have personal realizations. Kishimoto had her confess during the land of iron arc and its taken as a complete lie, but it wasn't. It was a grey confession. Naruto had to made into a hypocrite and put into a genjutsu to even pay attention to Hinata. The last fanfic didn't feel natural. Hinata never even reconfessed. And instead of getting a solid after the war film about Team 7 reconstructing their relationships and the world of Naruto....we get a forced ass romance. One that just soured the fanbase.
Hinata's only goal was to be with Naruto and her fans literally fight against the claim tooth and nail. Lol
She did nothing for her clan, nothing for Neji nor did Kishimoto ever portray jer struggling as an unwanted heiress, because of her perceived weakness. It's shameful fanfiction does a better job of actually expressing a more nuanced and realistic version of Naruto, then Kishimoto ever could. Boruto feels lackluster, fake and lifeless cause the couples don't fit nor carry the series. There's no real dynamic energy there. It makes more sense Madara won and everyone is sharing one gigantic freaking dream.
Also, you forgot to mention Sakura pumped Naruto's heart, gave him CPR and shared that moment with him regarding his dreams. That felt more impactful and authentic than Hinata rubbing Naruto's face. Cause why would Naruto break down after losing Jiraiya, hundreds...if not thousands of ninja being killed and the stake of the world is in balance due to one of ideological differences and him facing a dark reality. When his whole entire life is a dark reality and the world they live in is unforgiving, but there are still aspects of light.

I’ve been saying it for years: Sakura overall is better written than Hinata. What does Hinata actual accomplish? Nearly getting herself killed multiple times to impress Naruto? Yeah Sakura isn’t a perfect 10/10, she doesn’t do much for most of Shippudden, but SHE’S NOT SUPPOSED TO. Sakura may be physically powerful, but she’s also a medical ninja. She’s not supposed to fight unless she’s the only one left, and that’s coming from TSUNADE. The only time a medical ninja is allowed to fight on the front lines, is when they’ve completed the Byakuyo seal. And what’s the first thing Sakura does after accomplishing that? SHE NUKES THE BATTLEFIELD WITH MINIMAL EFFORT. Hinata kept Naruto’s spirit in the fight, but Sakura kept his spirit in his literal body. This mad-lass cut him open, and manually pumped his heart and used mouth-to-mouth to keep air in his lungs. And if we wanna get into who’s a better fighter, tell me, how many wins does Hinata have? Personally, I can’t think of any. She lost to Neji, didn’t fight ANYONE again until Pain, which she got bodied their too. Then who does she fight one on one after that? NOBODY? If you ask me, Hinata should have fought Kidomaru in the Sasuke Retrieval arc, or at least shown up part way through to help. At least then she could have proven her worth and redeemed herself. Especially since Neji already had his arc and finished it in the Chunin Exams. I’m sorry man, I just personally can’t stand Hinata. She’s WAY too overrated. Hell, TENTEN accomplished more than she did. At least she WON a fight. Against herself, but Jesus Hinata probably would have lost that too! INO does more than Hinata. All women in Naruto fall victim to a lot of really hurtful tropes and writing weaknesses. even Tsunade which a lot of people like to use an example of a cool and well written woman in Naruto still suffers from a lot of stuff due to Kishimoto's seemingly inability to write women (we all know the joke).

For example, Tsunade took a lot of her major decisions based on the men around her, including Naruto. Her backstory going by the account of others is just Sakura's with slightly more stakes and she was handed Hokage mostly out of nepotism, because Jiraiya was supposed to be Hokage and her relation to the previous Hokage.

The issue is that Sakura has a personality of an archaic tsundere. The idea is that the tsundere wants the guy that they like to be a better person and mature. However, Sakura’s true love is Sasuke. Their dynamic would never work.
Ironically, sasuke’s archetype tends to have a more gentle love internet archetype. A sweet and gentle woman that is there for her man to sooth his sorrows.
I find it bizarre that Kishimoto took the idiot hot head jerk with a heart of gold and put him together with a sweet soothing Japanese looking girl while also taking a brooding boy and tsundere as another couple.

Sakura was written to fit with Naruto. The entire heaven and earth argument or example from Kakashi fits them. Sakura is the head/heaven/mind, who is a perfectionist, preppy, studious, serious and compassionate, but also can be ruled by her emotions, because she doesn't deal with them. Sakura doesn't follow her heart to the fullest, but what others might think she should do. Or in this case....keeping her feelings for Sasuke; despite being ambivalent about them and never deals with them. Sakura stays focused.
Naruto is the heart/emotions/body. He follows his guts, his intuition and learns through experience. Naruto can be charming, explosive, mercurial and capricious. He's adaptable, but is strong in body and more solid. He's not traditionally smart, but hi wisdom is more internal.
Together they balance each other out and create a whole.
I think the reason why Sasuke and Hinata became popular as a ship is because of the traditional dynamics. Sasuhina fits and often have really compelling stories. Hinata feels raw and real around Sasuke w/o forcing him to be something he's not. She doesn't irritate him past a point and softens gradually around her. This ship is seen as crack, but makes tons more sense once clans, attitudes and politics are taken into consideration.
Naruto gets under Sakura's skin and reminds her to live. Often flirting, protecting and tempting her. While Sakura tries to maintain decorum, but has a passion that attracts Naruto, and forces Naruto to mature in ways that eventually trips her up to shift their power dynamic...two people who are an alternative mirror of Minato and Kushina, a culmination of Tsunade and Jiraiya w/o a forced narrative. That's why NaruHina feels lifeless and Hinata's a ghost in her own household with very little sway, but to be outshined by her spouse and codependent. Leaving Naruto a workaholic who trusts Sasuke more than his spouse. Or the sad relationship with Sakura basically being a single mother; while Sasuke does everything in his power to avoid his household.

There are a lot of other motives to hate Sakura and characters in general besides their "usefullness" and power level. Their personality, intentions & decisions, inteligence development and so on... Lee for example is normally a well-loved character, and his best moment I believe is considered to be when he fought Gaara. Was he "usefull" there?

People only think Sakura’s useless because they don’t understand a support role, and want her to be a power house, punching the shit out of everything and everyone all the time like in the gaara rescue arc. I’ll admit she could have been written much better, and in part 1 she was annoying af and absolutely useless. But she came in strong after the timeskip, and by the end of the war arc she had surpassed Tsunade, just like Sasuke and Naruto had already surpassed Orochimaru and Jiraiya. Just because she wasn’t a literal God at the end of the series like Naruto and Sasuke doesn’t mean she’s weak. At the end of the war arc I’d say Sakura easily stomps out just about every other member of the Konoha 12. Also keep in mind that Sakura’s parents weren’t even Shinobi, and she didn’t have any kind of insane power up handed to her. In the war arc take away Kurama, and Sasuke’s rinnesharingan and tell me how they stack up against each other after that😂

I have said it once and I'll say it again, i don't genuinely think Sakura is useless by any means. When i call her useless it's not because she has literally no use, it's because of her almost never getting to do anything cool on screen, or having a genuine moment to shine lonver than a panel or a few seconds.
Even when she does get a cool fight, like against Sasori, it's then downplayed later showing that he wanted to lose and was holding back. Which makes sense for the character and makes them better, it still makes it less meaningful and cool for Sakura.
Then she says really stupid and outrageous shit for next to no reason all the time, which adds onto the frustration. Especially when she's suposed to be a super intelligent character who is very learned.
While minor, the acts of violence towards MC does also add a slight bit to the frustration.
At least with Hinata, while i understand her contribution is very little, she is implied to do well with her team and a decent bit of her onscreen moments are adorable or meaningul emotionally. This makes me enjoy them far more than i could ever Sakura.
I never understood why Sasori changed his mind in the last moment that he needed to die ... Just why ?? To get a hug from mother and father ? It sounds poetic and sad but makes no sense... Why was he fighting for so long then ??

As a character she doesn't grow, she stands up once in the chunin exams, gets decked out and then we never see her actually become stronger.
Also 99% of the time she isn't shown to actually care about anyone other than Naruto. And even then, when he was suffering, she just stood behind a tree and watched. Compare that to ino, who when seeing sakura get bullied, helps her, or sasuke when he defends naruto when sakura badmouths him, or naruto himself who helps gaara, konohamaru, sasuke and many others. Neji had to die for HER?

I think that's my main issue with Shippuden. Shippuden is meant to be Naruto, for grown ups or older teens. Yet, the main cast very rarely takes lives of other shinobi (aside from the Akatsuki). Shippuden, despite its powerups, doesn't feel like as mature or complex of a story. Moral questions (like domestic abuse) aren't investigated. The morality of the hidden Leaf and broader ninja system isn't interrogated again until much too late in the story (mainly with Pain and Itachi's backgrounds). I know Naruto isn't a Seinin, but if you WANNA introduce romance, have that shit look messy and ugly as it can be in real life, introduce plot twists. This is why i say Dygo's rewrite is so awesome. It feels like Naruto, for grownups. Had a little more maturity been introduced, it would be so much better.
The closest Shippuden gets to those adult themes is some of the political stuff with danzo and the leaf but that's not even explored as much as it should have and was left for the anime to fill the holes.

Think a big theme of naruto in shippuden was just fixing the world and solutions and to be honest like it did feel realistic to the standards of real life where men are usual the better fighters and tsunade was an inspiration to female characters but you have to take into account that naruto has the nine tail fox and sasuke travels a path of darkness and gifted genes to gain power so of course compared to Sakura a natural fighter just like the other rookie 12 can’t match up if you take a natural sasuke and a natural naruto well we saw what happened neji died because of naruto so the reality is of course hinata comes off better cuz to guys that’s what they want in a girl but from a female perspective they’ll look up to someone more inspirational and I think as they should Sakura is stronger then hinata and from a female perspective should want to be more then just a house wife.

Protective 8-Tigrams 64 Palms is the best thing Hinata has ever done.
Both characters are poorly written, but I think people like Hinata more because she was actually nice to Naruto ( when she could actually talk to him) while Sakura actively made fun of Naruto and while sususaki also made fun of Naruto he could at least hold his own during the start of the show. Neither Hinata nor Sakura lived up to there potential. We are told in the beginning that Sakura has exceptional chakra control and would do well with genjutsu , nothing ever comes of that , and Hinata has the Byakugan. The Hyuga where never used to there potential either. We got hype for characters like Tenten and Neji and nothing to show for it. I think the biggest problem the story has is the author rarely finished an idea so many expositions lead to nothing. Like how the Byakugan is stronger than the sharingon and then all of a sudden every Uchiha is a hax god and the Hyuga are barely used, sorry more of a tangent than I wanted go on

As said in the video or by anyone that paid attention to the scene, the only reason she got that hit on Tendo is because Nagato was coughing blood and lost control for a split second.
The video has good points, but it kinda of seems to consider the opinions of a "good" or "usefull" character as too much of a fact. I invite all to consider that whenever a character is leading to good scenes that enrich the story, it can be interpretable as a kind of narrative usefullness, even if the character is not achieving much in terms of usefullness to the people arround them. People like me for example, don't really care how much power a character displays, both in combat prowess or other ways to make a difference, but more on their personality and decisions. Take Lee for example, normally considered a good character by most. He didn't win against the sound genins, nor Gaara, nor Kimimaru. All his sacrifice when fighting against Gaara had "no use" as well, yet I think almost all would agree it was his best moment(like me), and many might agree it was among the best in the show(same). So for people like me, Hinata can be a good character even having a low "usefullness" in the story. While Sakura can be a bad one even if she was even more usefull than Hinata that she already was. Simply because of how annoying and poorly written she can be (her agressiviness towards Naruto and others, her ocasional dumbness, hipocrisy and lack of resolve, her terrible relation with Sasuke,...).
i feel like if the anime didnt do hinata some justice people would dislike her a lot more. that said, i love hinata and im so glad that the anime gave hinata a better goal in the pain fight. having seen hinata crush over naruto ever since the start of the series and then finally seeing her rush between naruto and pain and profess her love while desperately trying to free him so he can keep fighting was amazing. keep in mind pain at the time was a basically impossibly strong opponent who literally destroyed the entire village in one go. like thats fucking terrifying. i would literally be pissing my pants if i was hinata and yet she still rushed in to protect someone she loves. honestly thats my favorite part of the pain fight in the anime which i know is blasphemy cause so much of the pain fight is fucking awesome but i really just think that it was just that cool.
