A literal ton of these. I was listening in my car and I thought that was the problem(it has happened before) but after I took it off it was still as bad.
People also forget she created an antidote for a poison that COULDN’T be cured and saved kankuros life, and she tried to keep Naruto alive after kurama gets taken out of him
As a Sakura hater my problem was that her solutions to problems involving sasuke were always terrible and if they worked everyone would’ve died. Number 1 she tried to stop Naruto and sasuke from fighting by RUNNING IN BETWEEN NARUTO IN SASUKE while they were in the air free falling and using chidori and rasengan. If that worked she would’ve died very stupid decision. Number 2. Trying to trick sasuke and take him out with a sneak attack. Considering they are all SHINOBI and sasuke just took out danzo this would’ve never happened and he had sheringan also she would’ve just died again. 3. She tried to convince Naruto to not save sasuke by her confessing fake feelings to Naruto which would’ve ended in Naruto hating the fact he lost his friend and both of them being a loveless miserable relationship. She also knocked out her team that was supposed to help her get sasuke another terrible decision. She only made terrible decisions when sasuke was involved. That’s why i can’t stand her character she was more of a problem for her village then a asset
@@AtelierGodWell then you need to rewatch the arc cause she removed the poison and then created an antidote…like it was a whole plot line because she used the Sand Medical Center and none of them were able to create one…I swear people always downplay her
I bet he's doing it on purpose because Himawari and young Hinata look so much alike lol And considering he's an expert on Naruto/Boruto stuff, it's hard to believe he'd keep making that mistake by accident.
Naruto’s female characters are so underwritten that we don’t even have “I can fix her” impulses like in other shounen anime. Like, at most Kaguya or early Temari
Honestly with Sakura it’s established early in that she’s a genius. So adding more breadcrumbs that she wants to be a medical ninja earlier is the way to strengthen her character. Not to mention just adding more of an emphasis that she is weirdly strong will set her up perfectly
also they shouldn't have waited until boruto to state how difficult it is to be medical ninja. Sakura explains that the reason her duaghter can't do it is becuase it requires an insane amount of chakra control.
I mean. When team 7 was set up, they put the highest scoring (Sasuke) with the lowest scoring (Naruto) as well as Sakura being right in the middle - the average shinobi academy graduate So I’d say it’s more that in part 1 Kishinoti didn’t really have any direction/ideas for what he wanted to do with Sakura and fell into tropes as a crutch while contradicting himself so many times
@@TheKillerman3333thats dumb as hell. Chakra control is something that can be trained and sharingan/byakugan users can literally see chakra. If anyone should have an easy time becoming a medical ninja its sarada.
@@ZarBluestar while kakashi was training and testing everyone he noticed that Sakura had insane chakra control. And could resist genjutsu really really well. The reason she was “mid” was her execution of skills. She scored higher on testing than Sasuke but he overall he was better across the board being a natural born genius with boosted genetics
You know what, I think that *very* early part 1 Sakura can be left more or less untouched (apart from what you said about making her crush on Sasuke less over the top). I think that establishing her as initially a very immature *kid* who has massively overromanticized the idea of being a shinobi and doesn't really take it seriously, has the potential to make her character growth hit a lot harder. I think it's why her moment in the forest of death hits so hard. That's really the first time that everything has gone so disastrously wrong that she is left alone to deal with a very dangerous situation. She has the realisation that she is woefully unequipped to handle it, and that thanks to her ill-preparation her teammates may very well die. Watching her have that moment and then choose to stand up and fight *even though* she has no chance made SUCH an impression on me as a kid. After that however, yeah, absolutely she should dive headfirst into training and actually making a change - it's such bullshit that in the original she spends the *months* of build-up to the Chuunin exam finals doing NOTHING.
@@raoufdali1049 That’s the point, they were saying they DIDN’T have to change that and went into detail about what that character meant to them as a child and why it COULD work in the live action movies. They just have to do more after the Forest of Death (starting with fixing her fight with Ino) and build from there as an actual C plot instead of like the G plot in the anime
Yeah. Sakura being just some girl who follows the crowd is part of her character. She doesn’t hate Naruto for no reason. She hates Naruto because EVERYONE hates him and she wants to be popular. She’s an incredibly repressed person who literally manifests an alternate personality that says what she’s actually thinking. Then she grows out of it and becomes confident and skilled person. The arc just needs a little bit of polishing to make her shine more
@@Wordlifefan9 Do the fact she win against Ino that important a stalemate isn't ideal but it's good enough It showed that she had also determination And also that she gave importance to Naruto point of view she broke out of Ino jutsu thank to Naruto encouragement
I agree. Then make her seek out Kurenai while the boys are gone and when she gets to be Tsuande's pupil later on, it'll hit harder. This put into words why her moment in the forest made such an impact on me and created me into a lifelong fan of hers. Thanks for writing this so well.
I'd be okay with Sakura badmouthing Naruto, IF when Sasuke (someone she cares about) calls her out on it, she takes that criticism to heart and reflects on it. And then apologize to Naruto. I'd be okay with her being weak in the Land of Waves arc, IF, when she comes home, she reflects and goes, "I nearly died... I wasn't ready and I was only a liability." And then have a 20 second scene where she confronts Kakashi like, "I almost died, teach me something useful, and do it properly."
@@izoneislife8167 What did he teach Sakura before the Chunin exam? She learned to chakra climb in less than two minutes... and while Naruto and Sasuke were struggling to learn what she had already done... what did Kakashi teach her in the meantime?
@@karsten69nothing. That's the entire problem. She wasn't taught anything until she got with Tsunade and that was one of the major obstacle in her development.
Step 1: *Fix her relationship with Sasuke* Since they end up together give them like… actual reasons to like each other beyond “Sasuke is cute emo.” After the whole “You’re a pest” thing maybe have Sakura actually look into Sasuke’s life and realize how much shit he’s gone through, causing them to become closer as she legit tries to understand him. And while he feels she doesn’t/couldn’t understand, he does recognize and appreciate her TRYING to reach out and understand him. Even if his edgy ass doesn’t accept readily. That would give a lot more meaning to the “thank you” at the valley of the end. He’d be thanking her for a whole lot more. Step 2: *Develop her Talents* Sakura becoming a skilled medical ninja and heavy hitter makes sense in the series. But keep focusing on her Chakra Control and planning. Have her learn Genjutsu themed around her aesthetic and prowess. Sasuke uses mindfuck domination Genjutsu. Maybe Sakura’s genjutsu is supposed to focus on medical purposes. Sedating and distracting people in surgery, which she applies in combat to create openings and make people susceptible to other things. Have her knowledge as a Ninja be used to decipher techniques so she can either power through herself or inform allies how to overcome them. Maybe she doesn’t 12 chess gigaplan things, but she’s good at understanding concepts and abilities. Step 3: *Just have her help more* Just… have her be more actively useful in the story. Show how important she is to the team and how they work. If you really wanna have it be the Team 7 show, make Sakura’s bond with Sasuke integral to bringing him back to the village and not just Naruto’s. Edit: Oh. For da movie… I dunno.
You raise an important point near the end in that there wasn't much focus on like, the team aspect of team 7 to begin with. We got inoshikacho and the logic for why team 8 is set up how it is and its usefulness, but teams 7 doesnt really get opportunity to be a team and grow as a unit before Sasuke leaves, and any attempts are mostly Sannin parallels done in Shippuden during the war iirc.
@MagillanicaLouM My thoughts as well and looking at Boruto, Sarada, and Mitz and how they combine their charka to enhance Boruto's attack is how I kinda imagine team 7 teamwork to be.
I know this controversial take, but her we go. The less involvement of Masashi Kishimoto in Sakura character writing the better Sakura we will get. He can't write women.
Years ago I was one of the few people who pointed out Naruto's obsession with Sasuke wasn't normal. At that point Sasuke had done enough for me to label him as a enemy and I was so annoyed Naruto wouldn't do the same. If my best friend tried to kill me or my family and friends then went on to be a terrorist I'm not gonna be his friend anymore. Lol But nobody was mature enough to have that conversation back then.
Bro my 4th grade self thought sauske was a little bitch. I then proceeded to mentally fanfiction a self insert Uchia that wasn’t a little bitch. And to make the fact team seven suddenly had four people on a squad consistent to the new lore, I made a new character for every other team. The outfits were nonsensical. Ah…those were the days. What were we talking about?
i feel like sakura was written as a side character but placed into a lead role, so just make her a side character. people love hinata, konan, ino, and they all have some of the same issues that Sakura has, but nobody bats an eye because they have less screentime.
All team 7 are side characters. When Kishimoto first wrote Naruto he was supposed to be a naughty fox spirit that did pranks and stuff. The editor was the one that changed Naruto to a kid, and later on told Kishimoto to give Naruto a rival, so he came up with Sasuke, then he told him to make a team of 3 to be balanced, so came Sakura because they thought it would make sense to have a girl. There's even an interview where he has a diagram of the order he came up with the characters. Even the chunnin exam arc was the editor's idea. This is why Naruto has many plot holes and characters that are set up to be great that further on have no screentime or become useless.
If they remove Sakura they’d probably merge Hinata into her role, effectively giving Sakura the bad-parents story Nick thought of. Could also make Hinata a bit more assertive and shifting from liking Sasuke to liking Naruto. It would be WAY too much of a change to Hinata though, they would get backlash
Sasuke and Sakura need a movie just like the last, could be them travelling together or something. That would fix the lacking emphasis on his true feelings about her throughout the anime.
It's unfortunate and undeserving to not have more female characters in naruto ,but I bet you would never say that about sailor mon not having any realy important male characters. Love your channel bro but stop being such a simp.
She ended up achieving a lot though. Being that she is not from a special clan, yet managed to become the strongest kunoichi in the world, that says a lot. The issue is that this power was not often showcase as she was mostly in the background or being saved by Naruto and Sasuke. We need more scenes of her being as powerful as she is
@@s4m1r_65 the thing is, she technically isn't the strongest, ten ten is. However ten ten was only as strong as her ninja tools and she was under utilized.
@@TheKillerman3333She isN'T the only female character he fumbled. In fact he fumbled more female characters than he succeeded with, and those that did seem to be flukes. Kishimoto just doesn't understand women.
I feel like the problem with Sakura is the exact opposite. She's fine in the first part of Naruto (in terms of how she is with Sasuke). He's THE boy to like. All the girls have a crush on him. She's just a 12 y/o who thinks her first 'love' is the one. It's how she is STILL that bad after 3 years of not being around him. Even Ino was like, that guy? Be for real. There's nothing there. THEN he tries to kill her and she still is like, be my baby daddy.
Fr, like she's a child, I understand, but when they grow up and the trauma they went through from everything sauske causes and she still tried to get with him even after almost being murdered multiple times.
@@zerofudou5689 my bad. I forgot I was talking to Naruto fanbois who have to "umm actually" anytime someone says a general broad statement and "corect them" because they just can't help themselves. So correction: a large portion of the girls that were in Sasuke's class had a crush on him, particularly the ones who care about being "popular" or in the "in-crowd" which would exclude Hinata who didn't care about being popular of course, and Ten-ten wasn't in their class so she too probably didn't care about him. Looking forward to being corrected again. :)
Part 1 sakura is more nuanced than people think. And please stop calling sasuke abusive to her in part 1. Literally sasuke has shown nothing but caring and concern and only mild annoyance for her. Sakura never hated Naruto. Just found him annoying for his attention seeking and insensitively called him undisciplined because he has no parents. She just leached off what she saw the grown ups feel. I like some of the ideas but i feel you have a misunderstanding of part 1 sakura.
Yeah part 1 Sasuke actually is pretty chill around Sakura, wasnt she the one that got to calm him down when the curse mark first activated (and it triggering in the first place was him getting pissed at the sound trio when she was fighting them off)? I won't deny stuff in Shippuden makes the romance a bit headscratching, but when they were properly Team 7, the few interactions with just the 2 of them very easily show there was a lil something, as much as you can get from a manga character meant to be stoic and has other stuff going on like Sasuke. At the very least you definitely can't say he DIDN'T care about her in p1, certainly not abusive
I’m not sure if it’s been announced anywhere , but I have a high suspicion that the movie will only be an abridged version of the beginning through the land of waves arc, leaving on a cliffhanger when they’re nominated for the chuin exams. It’ll be a meter stick for whether there’s an appetite for more, and leave the door open to milk it way more if there is
Sokka starting out sexist was for character growth it was bad then and would still be bad now its just removing a character flaw so he isn't able to grow. I'll forgive this as you've never watched the OG avatar and I would highly recomend it when you have time.
@@MagillanicaLouM probably becaue the episode it happened in is a fan favorite episode iwth the kioshi warriors and one the the things that partially drew sukki to him was their time together and his ability to grow and learn. its not a BIG part of the story but iut was some of the BEST of the story early on
The best way to make Sakura better is to just make her change. It’s fine if she starts off as a Sasuke fan girl. I would have her stop hitting Naruto though. In the land of waves you should have her change. Make her go from a fan girl to someone who is growing to understand the ninja world. In the forest of death make sure you show that change. In her fight with Ino have her win. She wins because she’s no longer a fan girl so she has trained and has grown stronger by training as a ninja.
I think it would interesting to take the route of her family not being a clan and her parents not being ninjas. Maybe she wants to protect them because they are not skilled . Or maybe she wants to establish the Haruno clan as a strong respectable clan and she'll be the first member of it.
The SasuSaku moments definitely can be seen in OG Naruto after the whole Sasuke’s curse mark activating for the first time. One biggest issue is probably where Sakura will have strong moments but then the moments of Sasuke and Naruto outclass her or overshadow her. Like when she punches the clone thing from the 10 tails in the war arc. And then both naruto and sasuke swoop in to kagutsuji and rasenshuriken that said clone when she clearly could’ve handled it on her own. Ofc Naruto isn’t about relationships and romance really but like maybe putting in a moment of sasuke at Orochimaru’s hideout looking at a cherry blossom tree or something. He doesn’t even have to say anything
Or the insted of Kakashi saying she would be good at genjutsu, have him say she would be a good medical ninja. Then, before he goes to train Sasuke for the finals, he signs her up for the medical ninja program.
Saying we have to change the story to fit 2024 is like saying Django unchained shouldn’t have had slaves in it because of the year of its release. We need true authenticity
Yeah it's a statement that's bugging me throughout the video. There're criticisms to be made but none of them have to do with when the series was made vs what year we're in now. It's not an American story and it wasn't made in 2024, nothing about that should be seen as a flaw in itself. Tbh i don't really see the point of this adaptation to begin with, Naruto doesn't really need any help getting attention in the U.S. It's already one of THE anime ppl that don't regularly watch recognize in larger pop culture. But it's happening so eh
I disagree, Lee & Sakura barely get to see each other💀 if anything Kishi needed to give us SasuSaku’s development after the war or Sakura ends up with Naruto
Just because characters don't fit into our world today doesn't mean we should change them. Sakura having the flaws she does makes her a great character because we get she her grow through the stroy from where she started and i think that's great.
Did you actually watch the video? He quite literally explained what flaws she should have and overcome. The point is making her a better character, not a perfect character.
In order to write Sakura faithfully and well into a movie charakter they need to show all her issues and then she needs to have a struggle that leads to growth and her resolving or improving those issues. 1.) Her being useless -> she fights and gets stomped on and almost dies/ can't protect Naruto or Sasuke while they do all the heavy lifting -> trains hard to get stronger. 2.) Her being a bully to Naruto -> she gets flag for it from Sasuke -> her reflecting on her behavior and doing better. 3.) Her being too obsessed with Sasuke even though he is an asshole towards her -> her reflecting on that -> her being more independent. The third point is a bit harder because love is a motherfucker. It can lead us to do things that don't make sense like suffer a toxic and abusive partner. But in my opinion, all these things need to be there, for her to become a good character. I think people hate her so much because she judt took too long to overcome her shortcomings and by the point she did, most people have made up their minds about her. So to adapt her for a live action movie, this character development that she went through, needs to happen in a more condensed fashion. I think skipping her character development and putting her on the sidelines entirely would be a mistake especially if they needed to pick it up in the future. And hey depending on how much the movie covers in terms of story, it's fine if she doesn't resolve all her issues at the end of the first one. It's fine if she just stops bullying Naruto and gets less obsessed with Sasuke. Leave the getting stronger part for the second movie. Otherwise it would have to be a movie about her and not about Naruto.
Its kinda ridiculous that people hate her for "bullying Naruto as a kid" when literally EVERYONE in the village bullied him when he was a kid, and most of them were adults. She was 13. Kids that age do crazy things to fit it. And not only did she do it for that reason, she also did it because he always annoyed her. If you were constantly hit on and expressed your disinterest in the person flirting with you and they KEEP hitting on you, like how she did with Sasuke, of course they are going to be kinda rude at some point to the person still hitting on them. Sasuke called her annoying. And she told Naruto the same thing and more. The onoy difference is gender. Sasuke couldnt hit Sakura for constantly flirting with him because he is a boy and she is a girl, but Sakura could hit Naruto for whipping his dick out to pee right in front of her, she could punch him for being disrespectful towards women whenever he used his "sexy jutsu" and she could hit him when he scared her on purpose. That is not a valid reason to hate her if you are not going to hate on everyone else for it too. Oh! And NC cutting their hair was a HUGE thing. Idols in Japan will cut their hair to show remorse for something and show resolve to change. Serena from Pokemon does the same thing. It is symbolic of letting go of your past self. If you have grown your hair out for YEARS and then decide to change and you make the call to cut your hair that you've been growing for 8 years, then that is a big change that you cannot reverse, so it is seen as committing to your evolution. I am a woman by the way, and I dont need Sakura to be changed, I would LIKE her to not be so dependent on liking Sasuke. But I liked her in OG Naruto. And loved her in Shippuden. So I dont need it. I just need her to still BE in the live action adaptation. A story for boys about boys should NEVER focus ONLY on boys. Otherwise it will teach boys the wrong things. They need to see that women are just as strong and capable and smart as them. That women exist and are just as valid as them. The same is true of stories written for girls. They need to see that boys are just as good as them.
Mainly hater her because she was given the screen time and also showed her double standards. She's making fun of naruto for being an orphan while loving sauske while he was an orphan. That where people saw her as a nasty person and her simply hitting naruto or talking shit about him makes her never seem to change her tune about what she said before thus people never liking her.
@pushyrummble8625 LOL, yes, but again, she was 13. Kids perform double standards all the time to fit in and look cool. She was making fun of Naruto being an orphan, not because she actually has a problem with orphans, but because she was trying to look cool for her crush. She knew Sasuke was always trash talking Naruto, so she thought it would gain her some favor with Sasuke if she trash talked Naruto too. It was more one of those things where she just said the first thing that popped into her head without really thinking and tried to play it cool while she did it thinking it would make Sasuke like her more. That's just how kids think, if they bully someone lower than them, it will make themselves higher up and make them more well liked among their peers, especially among those who usually find it fun and cool to bully that kid. And again, most of the time she only hit Naruto when he was doing something wrong, like him being a perv or something. The more mature he got, the better he behaved and the less she hit him. Not saying every single time she hit him, that she was in the right. But I think people gave her too much flak for that. Some people don't learn unless they have physical repercussions for their actions, no matter what you say to them or how many times you tell them, some people only learn through getting their butts beat. That is sadly just a fact of life. Not saying Naruto or Sakura are one of them or anything. But Jiraya seemed to be, and Naruto ended up learning from him, while Sakura learned from Tsunade. So their masters both rubbed off on their students in different ways. It makes it kinda hard to fully blame Sakura for her actions when her actions were directly spurred on by Naruto's actions. Plus, when you are younger it is harder to control your emotions. So while I do not fault Naruto for ALL of his stupidity, I do fault him for SOME of the things he did. Likewise I think Sakura hitting him was justified sometimes, not every single time, but enough that people should really go back and re-evaluate hoe often she hit him, and compare it to WHY she hit him, before they make such rash judgements and blindly hate her for no good reason.
@@Sakachi18 If you are justifying the supposed double standards based upon the fact Sakura is an adolescent, you inadvertently make your entire point moot as the viewer base was also adolescent when the Sakura-hate began..
@@Chibuike16 Not all of them were, some people who hated her were kids, some were teens, some were young adults. And even if they were kids/teens, they are no longer young and should have grown up just like Sakura did. Yet, while she changed, the vast majority of haters did not, and they continue to hold things from her childhood against her that they should be able to look at with a more informed perspective now that they are older and hopefully wiser. But for whatever reason, they refuse to. Which is ridiculous.
Not to mention Naruto and Himawari's romance hehe Though to be fair, everyone's been talking about Himawari being a jinchuriki now, so it's no surprise she's on his mind.
Honestly, if they used a similar framing device as How I Met your Mother and have Naruto narrate his life to a young Boruto and have him reflect on the key moments and battles that helped him become hokage it could really help with the pacing and the way certain characters shaped him, including Sakura. Having him explain key events and his opinions on some characters, including Sakura can add extra depth and give us something different, as well as prevent the viewers from making comparisons to the show. It could also have Naruto express his opinions on her outside the lens of a childhood crush and show that even though she wasn't the greatest she still mattered.
Have and will continue to shout about Naruto being so obsessed with bringing Sasuke back. When he's isolated and they help each other it makes sense, but with more time and fights it becomes so toxic for him.
Imo, its kinda sad that Kishimoto focused way too much on Naruto and Sasuke in Shippuden. I mean, not trying to make an argument of "this did it better so its better", but MHA handles its characters well. I dont even know why some of the kids reason they chose to become ninja, outside clan responsibility, or what their dreams are. For a series about teamwork, it felt like in Shippuden that was lost a lot. In MHA, we know that much at least and see how different teammates sync up. Not even trying to bash Naruto. Its just looking back after realizing Sakura and Tenten were underutilized as well as so many others like Kiba and Shino (seriously, we dont even know them that well). Heck i still didnt feel much for Asuma, cuz i didnt get to know him that well. Til a filler arc i watched involving him and that temple. Edit: sakura shoulda learned 8 gates for taijutsu. And just rmemebering how Sasuke even told her that she needed to train. Youd think she'd respect his wish while hes recovering but as bro said, she pickin flowers
they can make sakura more like nami in the live action, who had amazing choreography with her staff, looking at her you'd never say she was weak. Similarly sakura's skills can be shown more.
I honestly think that how one dimensional all of the naruto characters are as kids is a huge avenue for rewriting. Shikamaru is Lazy, Choji is Hungry, Ino is Jealous, Sakura is Bitchy, Naruto is lonely/clingy, Hinata is shy, Shino is forgettable, Neji is elitist, Rock Lee is Ambitious, Sasuke is angry, Tenten is Calculating, Kiba is Rambunctious. Its like the leaf village teaches their kids that they are only allowed one character trait.
First, I am completely against changing another series to match what is politically correct in 2024, these people live in completely different worlds and social structures than ours and tbh its way less progressive to dislike Sakura cuz she has flaws than try and make her perfect so she can be PC. Second, all of the people who hate on Sakura are just mad she isnt the character they wan't her to be. Sakura was never going to be as strong as Naruto or Sasuke because she wasnt one of the two main characters and her strength was comparable to other not main characters on the show. She was a bully to a kid that was annoying her when they were young but that is something that happens. In the end Sakura accomplished a lot and became one of the top doctors in the world and from her perspective and the other characters in the show appreciate her and find her extremely useful. Not all characters are going to be written the way that everyone wants but to ignore and hate on that character because she wasnt who they wanted her to be is what is wrong with extreme progressiveness today. I love women and want them to have equal rights to men in every way but continuing to change characters and stories to make these women look perfect is just a disservice to any character because no character can be flawless or they will have no way to change or grow so they will never have character development other than the current hollywood character development blueprint "girl realizes she is perfect just the way she is and achieves ultimate power or lifetime goals." There is a reason that Fallout and One piece worked when other series have failed, even tho they may have made changes some people didnt like they both understood what really mattered about both series and the characters in one piece conveyed their manga counterparts well and the fallout characters and story fit in the Fallout world. Lastly I hate it when people disrespect an artist work from 20 years ago just because it doesnt live up to their supposed values that arent even realistic most of the time and If someone loves Naruto then they should respect the authors work and accept that the characters in these shows dont have to be perfect, especially the women even tho hollywood does have an issue with unrealistic depictions of men as well but at least they can have flaws. The only thing worse than trying to make every woman perfect is when they make the guys look like complete morons just to make the "perfect" women look even better by comparison like Ghost Busters.
Bruh... Go outside 😂. Or at least watch the video. Nobody said make her a "perfect character" or as strong as Naruto. He legit laid out how to maker her a flawed character that grows over time. Dude was very clear it was about making sakura (one of the most hates characters in Naruto, if not shonen) a decent character for a feature film. Cause even Kishimoto didn't like how he handled her character. And by your logic we couldn't criticize media at all 😂
@@ItachiUchiha-sh6of I did watch the video and I'm saying im tired of people and hollywood wanting to change characters from awesome stories just cuz that character isnt "perfect" in their eyes. The story of Naruto is great as it is that's why the show has the fans it has and changing another female character just so she lines up with modern values is stupid and tbh a lot of what is politically correct now is stupid. He talks about how the show is all about the boys in early naruto and thats fine cuz they are the main characters and he complains that Sakura duznt have a reason to love sasuke and they should tone that down when no person has to have a specific reason to love anyone, she likes sasuke for the same reason the other girls do cuz they think he's hot. The reason that Sakura wasnt strong early on is because she didnt want to be and part of her character development was deciding that she wanted to be strong and the story showing what happens that leads up to that because naruto and sasuke both had goals when they were young and sakura didnt really. Hinata went through a similar storyline of deciding to get stronger. My issue is with people deciding to hate Sakura because she isnt the character they want her to be instead of accepting her the way she is because no character in a story has to live up to any fans expectations so long as what they do makes sense for that character and story and the writers arent giving that person unearned powers or making them do stupid stuff for "girl power" which is why a lot of people are criticizing media because of stuff like Star Wars and Captain Marvel. People want faithful adaptations like One Piece and Fallout that make the watcher feel like they are watching more of the show they loved not a story that kills ur immersion but changing stuff to make it more diverse and politically correct
@@jakethornton4856 bruh you still missing the point. Nobody is saying making a perfect character. Its not even about "modern sjw whatever." Its about improving a character, while also translating and streamlining it for cinema. Ain't nobody said nothing about diversity or political correctness. That's why I said go outside. Your shadow boxing ghost. (And star wars had wayyy more problems than "diversity". If you think that's why the newer movies were bad your media analysis skills need work ) Even the creator regrets how he handled parts of the story. Dude admitted he wasn't good at writing female characters. And it showed! Its not disrespectful to criticise how a character is written. That's insane 😂. Also there would be no point in making a live action if they just do the exact sane thing but with worse graphics. Sakuras's character is presented terribly during part 1. And was barely passable in part 2. Naruto as a series has a lot of flaws. We can admit that. If you personally like Sakura that's great. But your in a vast minority and that doesn't mean her character was well done. I'm not even a sakura hater. But objectively her character was not well received for a reason.
@@jakethornton4856 also the argument of "sakura did this because she wanted to" is silly. Sakura behaved the way the writer wanted her two. She could have been written better.
To be fair if you cut out the Kaguya and Reincarnation power boosts it wouldn't have been so hard to have later stage Sakura still be roughly in the same league, and for a movie it wouldn't be that hard to just nerf the 10 Tails Jinchuriki and thus you don't have to make Naruto and Sasuke so OP.
Don't forget about the other girls as well. After she left Tsunade, Ino could've went to study wirh either Aoba Yamashiro or Anko. Tenten should've learned chakra flow, so her weapons cutting power would be upgreated (Asuma's speech to Naruto comes to mind). If she had wind nature she could study with Asuma. This could lead her to siging a contract with monkey king Enma. She is a weapons user, he can turn into adamantine staf; it fits perfectly. Hinata (& Neji) learn medical ninjutsu, alongside Sakura and Ino. Tsunade propose thag every cell should have a med-nin, but when she had the power to make it happen, she didn't. I am gald in the Boruto era it's mandatory every team send at least 1 person to learn it. 💚
NCHammer23 I was just wondering if you plan to finish the naruto & borouto clans explained series. There are many clans like yuki, chinoike, fuma, kurama, kamizuru, tsuchisumo and many more that don't get talked about.
kakashi on base was the perfect teacher for team 7 had ton of jutsus to teach them, had sharingan to help sasuke and also genjutsu to help sakura but fumbled the bag hard, he could have taught sakura the basis and send her to train with kurenai, imagine a shinobi with superhuman strenght, healing, and mastery on genjutsu she would have been one strongest normal shinobi she also could have been trained with guy to refine her raw strenght and along the line leanrt how to open the gates
@@NolanBell-y6y tf hell no. Kishimoto is better, he only seem better cause he can see kishimoto's mistakes and change them. On top of that kishimoto only had a week but some times his editor make him change this so kishimoto have only a few days to DRAW, write and think for next chapters. Nick doesn't even understand the lore of Naruto and most of the time his takes are dumb
As a girl who grew up with naruto, sakura was the heroine i was given to identify with and root for. And i did. But i was always so disappointed by how underdevloped she was. I never lost respect for her as a character, but i did lose respect at many point for how sidelined she got or how basic her motivations were. Probably why i ended up reading (and writing) so much fanfic about her over the years lol, many of which actually explore her potential. And holy shit yes i hope they improve sasuke x sakura's romantic development. Now that we know they're canon, they have no excuse not to write it better from the beginning. I love this ship, especially now in boruto. Hope that it, and sakura in general, get the development they finally deserve.
I personally HATE it when ppl change the story to “adjust for the times” at that point it feels like the director wanted to just make a movie without the hard work of actually making a story.
Another reason to cut (limit) Sakura's role is how western movies (especially American movies) have to have the "Girl Boss" character & the bait & switch replacing the main character for a female character while cucking the main male character. If they focus on Sakura the woke mob will demand she be this amazing girl boss that never struggles with anything at the cost of Naruto himself (which'll ruin Sasuke's story & the whole plot of Naruto). In order to prevent that from happening just cutting Sakura completely might be the smarter choice (since the woke mob won't know because they don't actually watch things). If they Girl Boss Sakura that'll ruin the biggest storyline she has (besides the whole Sasuke & bullying Naruto) is she believe herself better then others because she had the top marks & because she so smart she overestimates her own abilities as a Ninja in part 1. It wasn't until after part 1 of Naruto she learns that being book smart alone isn't enough you need to practice, train & be willing to put your life on the line to be strong. FYI I don't hate Sakura like most fans do & she does have character growth, but she's suffered from being on the same team as Naruto & Sasuke. if for example Hinata was on Team 7 instead of Sakura she'd be more liked by fans instead of hated (because her lack of development came at the cost of Naruto, Sasuke & Kakashi stories). Just for everyone sake & to make it easier to understand cutting Sakura (or moving her to another team) would be better for a movie version.
@@RainStorm-qf7lq Because the series itself compares them. When she unlocked her hundred healing seal she caught up to EMS Sasuke and KCM Naruto but then they immediately got six paths so it threw that out the window.
@@JKBlackClover That didn't put her on their levels even before Six paths Naruto and Rinnegan Sasuke. At most she was at Sage mode Naruto and Mangekyou Sharingan Sasuke levels.
I have a working theory for a while now that Nick leaves in audio issues (like this in this video), or editing issues (leaving in two takes when delivering lines) because he knows it will get him several comments about the issues leading to more “engagement” on his videos leading to more views and all the stuff important to growing a yt channel
19:52. Give her the dichotomy of wanting to protect those around her after one of her parents died during the 9-tail’s attack, then put her on a team with Naruto, who she despises.
Or.... Switch Sakura and Hinata's places. Kakashi did not teach Sakura anything, nor did he had her sign a contract with his dogs and Kurenai did not pass dow her genjutsu knowlage to Hinata. This way Kakashi could become a sudo father figure to Hinata, after her father, Hiashi disinherited her. Plus, since Hinata has a genjutsu, he could've taugh her the chidori (plus derrived jutsus).
I respect the desire to churn email catch up back into the business, and honestly the effort that goes in each time is appreciated. Have a great day, y'all!
I don’t really have much praise to offer that often but, this video was a masterclass of revised writing. You should really do more videos similar to this in regards to Part one of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.
Keeping Sakura's inherited dislike for Naruto should be kept but as the movie progress her attitude towards him would shift into her questioning why everyone in the village hated him I mean she would still think that he's an Idiot but would learn to like and respect the lovable idiot. And yes her girlish crush for Saskue should also be kept but it would blossom from infatuation into wanting to have a relationship but would be unrequited. Giving her the Genjitsu ability won't change anything major in the movie but it would help her not look useless. This would happen after the Bell training exercise and she would use this on the first battle with those two missing nin chunins when they would attack the guy they were escorting but would hit her illusion instead giving Saskue and Kakashi time to dispose of them. This would give her something to do and make feel Naruto's temporary cowardice more effective and solidifying his resolve not to run away the next battle (him stabbing his hand with his kunai). And during their Tree walking exercise she should train her Charka Control more and would strengthen her Genjitsu ability (I would like her to learn medical Ninjitsu but it would be a stretch as no one they know would be able to teach her that unless Copy-cat Kakashi copied it during his time with Rin). And with her strengthen Genjitsu ability she would be able to hide with their escort for a time and fool Zabuza once when he tries to attack her and the escort but he would figure it out the second time and would not be fooled again. And after that the story should flow like the same as the original or they make some movie type edits that's like the original story but different at the same time (movie stuff you know what I mean) and the movie ends with Sakura having some character and ability growth.
Or simply don't have a romance between sasuke and Sakura. I hate that pairing anyway it doesn't make sense that she ends up with sasuke after everything he's done to her. If you're trying to make the story more progressive, have her get over the childish crush she has on sasuke and instead have her simply be powerful and wanting to bring sasuke back to the village for a similar reason as Naruto she cares about him but doesn't love him anymore and certainly doesn't end up with him. Kind of in a similar vein to Kakashi he wants sasuke back in the village cause he cares for sasuke.
Interesting take. Personally, I'd try to make Inner Sakura more of a thing, like a Doppio and Diavolo sort of deal where maybe one Sakura heals and the other hits really hard and maybe has a weapon. Because i refuse to take that as a gag, she actually threw Ino out of her brain at one point. Or hell, for all Kishi talks up seals, noone in the main cast actually uses any. And out of any of Team 7, I'd definitely see Sakura as the most useful with seals
I feel like in the first season of naruto she should've work on her genjutsu and realise by the chunin exam that whatever effort she puts in she'll never be stronger then sasuke and naruto so she won't be able to protect them from orochimaru then she decides to learn medical ninjutsu to be more useful and never have to see them suffer like this ever! And also maybe save Neji would've being nice and people would've liked her so much moreee
Audio is messed up btw still love the determination nick has in all his videos even when there ends up being a problem with stuff he still pushes through
Maybe in the beginning of part 1 Sasuke was not only annoyed by Sakura's fangirl obsession with him and like I said in the beginning was trying to get her to lose interest. It may have even creep him out a little before he started to really see who she really was as a person. People don't usually think about how those whom are considered popular actually feel about a lot of the attention they get. Even though Sasuke doesn't seem to really care about all that, maybe deep down he was uncomfortable with all that fanfare.
There are some weird audio cuts. Thought I’d mention it.

A ton of them, all over the video. I even reloaded the page.
A literal ton of these. I was listening in my car and I thought that was the problem(it has happened before) but after I took it off it was still as bad.
People also forget she created an antidote for a poison that COULDN’T be cured and saved kankuros life, and she tried to keep Naruto alive after kurama gets taken out of him
Those are important moments, but they are worked against because of her main flaws in her story.
This was something off the bat in shippuden + granny chiyo/sasori battle that set the stage for her growth!! Major let down as things went on
As a Sakura hater my problem was that her solutions to problems involving sasuke were always terrible and if they worked everyone would’ve died.
From what I remember it wasn’t so much “create an antidote” as it was “if it can’t be cured remove it from the body”
@@AtelierGodWell then you need to rewatch the arc cause she removed the poison and then created an antidote…like it was a whole plot line because she used the Sand Medical Center and none of them were able to create one…I swear people always downplay her

@@qwirktthis is a fucking weird comment
Honestly with Sakura it’s established early in that she’s a genius. So adding more breadcrumbs that she wants to be a medical ninja earlier is the way to strengthen her character. Not to mention just adding more of an emphasis that she is weirdly strong will set her up perfectly
also they shouldn't have waited until boruto to state how difficult it is to be medical ninja. Sakura explains that the reason her duaghter can't do it is becuase it requires an insane amount of chakra control.
I mean. When team 7 was set up, they put the highest scoring (Sasuke) with the lowest scoring (Naruto) as well as Sakura being right in the middle - the average shinobi academy graduate
So I’d say it’s more that in part 1 Kishinoti didn’t really have any direction/ideas for what he wanted to do with Sakura and fell into tropes as a crutch while contradicting himself so many times
@@TheKillerman3333thats dumb as hell. Chakra control is something that can be trained and sharingan/byakugan users can literally see chakra. If anyone should have an easy time becoming a medical ninja its sarada.

You do realise what you are describing is literally what happened in the manga you didn't change anything
@@raoufdali1049 That’s the point, they were saying they DIDN’T have to change that and went into detail about what that character meant to them as a child and why it COULD work in the live action movies.

Do the fact she win against Ino that important a stalemate isn't ideal but it's good enough
It showed that she had also determination
And also that she gave importance to Naruto point of view she broke out of Ino jutsu thank to Naruto encouragement
Only after reading your comment, I realized that kakashi legit offered to teach both naruto and sasuke new jutsus but entirely forgot sakura lol
Step 1: *Fix her relationship with Sasuke*
Since they end up together give them like… actual reasons to like each other beyond “Sasuke is cute emo.” After the whole “You’re a pest” thing maybe have Sakura actually look into Sasuke’s life and realize how much shit he’s gone through, causing them to become closer as she legit tries to understand him.
Step 2: *Develop her Talents*
Sakura becoming a skilled medical ninja and heavy hitter makes sense in the series.
Step 3: *Just have her help more*
Just… have her be more actively useful in the story. Show how important she is to the team and how they work. If you really wanna have it be the Team 7 show, make Sakura’s bond with Sasuke integral to bringing him back to the village and not just Naruto’s.
Edit: Oh. For da movie… I dunno.
I agree, we needed to see her be more active and show more of her capabilities in battles.
Kakashi could've taugh Sakura the hell viewing tec (the genjutsu he used on her during the bell test), before the wave mission.
Be honest. Kakashi never bothered to teach anyone other than Sasuke anything
I agree she’s the only member of her team that he didn’t train in some regard
I know this controversial take, but her we go. The less involvement of Masashi Kishimoto in Sakura character writing the better Sakura we will get. He can't write women.

What were we talking about?
i feel like sakura was written as a side character but placed into a lead role, so just make her a side character. people love hinata, konan, ino, and they all have some of the same issues that Sakura has, but nobody bats an eye because they have less screentime.
Exactly. I've always said Sakura feels like a side character forced into the role of a main character

At the very least you definitely can't say he DIDN'T care about her in p1, certainly not abusive
there is no way they can cram 4 arcs into a 2 hour movie and make it good
We await the dumpster fire..... Ugh
I’m not sure if it’s been announced anywhere , but I have a high suspicion that the movie will only be an abridged version of the beginning through the land of waves arc, leaving on a cliffhanger when they’re nominated for the chuin exams.

Is it just me or Nick said Himawari instead of Hinata twice? 😂
So glad the audio better for this video 🎉
I think it would interesting to take the route of her family not being a clan and her parents not being ninjas. Maybe she wants to protect them because they are not skilled . Or maybe she wants to establish the Haruno clan as a strong respectable clan and she'll be the first member of it.
But this wouldn’t work because then in Boruto she changes her last name to Uchiha so she gives up on the Haruno clan
You called hinata himawari twice 😂
Just because characters don't fit into our world today doesn't mean we should change them. Sakura having the flaws she does makes her a great character because we get she her grow through the stroy from where she started and i think that's great.
you're right, it's ok for having flaws in a show but where does she execute at that?
Did you actually watch the video? He quite literally explained what flaws she should have and overcome. The point is making her a better character, not a perfect character.
“There is no blatant sexism in Naruto” My mind immediately going to Shikamaru and his character development 😂

U called Hinata Himawari like 3 times 😂
I dont have any problem with her character too i really think she is well written

Neji and Himawari relationship in part 1 ?
He's been thinking too much about Himawari 🤭
I believe he meant Hinata 😂😂
Not to mention Naruto and Himawari's romance hehe
Though to be fair, everyone's been talking about Himawari being a jinchuriki now, so it's no surprise she's on his mind.

I would say Ino is bitchy and Sakura is temperamental
Ahh the classic Neji and Himawari fight. How could we forget?
If you think that's why the newer movies were bad your media analysis skills need work )
Even the creator regrets how he handled parts of the story.
There are many clans like yuki, chinoike, fuma, kurama, kamizuru, tsuchisumo and many more that don't get talked about.

kakashi on base was the perfect teacher for team 7 had ton of jutsus to teach them, had sharingan to help sasuke and also genjutsu to help sakura but fumbled the bag hard, he could have taught sakura the basis and send her to train with kurenai, imagine a shinobi with superhuman strenght, healing, and mastery on genjutsu she would have been one strongest normal shinobi
she also could have been trained with guy to refine her raw strenght and along the line leanrt how to open the gates
This guy should work with kishimoto
Actually no, replace him
@@NolanBell-y6y tf hell no.
Sokka wasn't sexist, he just thought that only men could be warriors because in his village men were out on the battle field.
Dude... Go outside 😂
Sakura DID catch up to Naruto and Sasuke in the war arc. But it got overshadowed by the rest of team 7 getting six paths power out of nowhere.
I don't know why people try to compare her to Naruto and Sasuke anyway. They both got a huge power up, there was no way Sakura was going to keep up
@@RainStorm-qf7lq Because the series itself compares them.

Sasuke, Kakashi-Japanese

Tsunade- Caucasian
Naruto- Mixed with Caucasian
I have a working theory for a while now that Nick leaves in audio issues (like this in this video), or editing issues (leaving in two takes when delivering lines) because he knows it will get him several comments about the issues leading to more “engagement” on his videos leading to more views and all the stuff important to growing a yt channel
Bro said 'i can fix her'😂

I don’t really have much praise to offer that often but, this video was a masterclass of revised writing. You should really do more videos similar to this in regards to Part one of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.
U just gave so many reasons as to why they shouldn't make naurto into a movie😭
i could see them doing the movie in 2 or more parts to give us time for more character building
The fact he says hima’s name instead of hinata is got me rolling😂😂
Interesting take. Personally, I'd try to make Inner Sakura more of a thing, like a Doppio and Diavolo sort of deal where maybe one Sakura heals and the other hits really hard and maybe has a weapon. Because i refuse to take that as a gag, she actually threw Ino out of her brain at one point. Or hell, for all Kishi talks up seals, noone in the main cast actually uses any. And out of any of Team 7, I'd definitely see Sakura as the most useful with seals
Welcome back dude
I feel like in the first season of naruto she should've work on her genjutsu and realise by the chunin exam that whatever effort she puts in she'll never be stronger then sasuke and naruto so she won't be able to protect them from orochimaru then she decides to learn medical ninjutsu to be more useful and never have to see them suffer like this ever! And also maybe save Neji would've being nice and people would've liked her so much moreee

3 consecutive videos with audio problems between both channels. You might need to make some changes
Am i crazy or was the audio weird? Like glitches of no sound for a brief second during the video?
Maybe in the beginning of part 1 Sasuke was not only annoyed by Sakura's fangirl obsession with him and like I said in the beginning was trying to get her to lose interest.
It may have even creep him out a little before he started to really see who she really was as a person.
People don't usually think about how those whom are considered popular actually feel about a lot of the attention they get.
Even though Sasuke doesn't seem to really care about all that, maybe deep down he was uncomfortable with all that fanfare.
Finally a video I can watch because it’s not full of manga spoilers!!!
