I appreciate the respect you give to Shino. He is my favorite of the 12 and the disrespect he gets is uncalled for. Also the idea of Shino and Ino being on the same team as exuberate fashion disasters Gain and Lee is hilarious. I imagine Ino's initial disgust at the idea of Shino's bugs touching her in any way, then the grudging respect because Shino actually has the bugs help in the flower shop or something. Ino trying to give her team a make over, but it fails. The dynamic has such good potential.
Did you know where is a new anime that has a guy with ants living in him alot like shino. The guy legit gets stronger making his ants stronger and mutating them even has bug arms (ant arms) but one step farther he has a living ant armor. Which looks like a ant power ranger. That is made of ants.
Shino became one of my favorites when I was a kid when I saw him blow dude’s arms off in the manga. It was so clever and brutal. That and I totally dig his look.
Def my fav too..his background personality, always overlooked thing was something I related to along with him having one of my fav designs and being smart af Homie def got played just because Kishimoto didn’t want to draw them hugs no more 😭😭
Sakura - Choji - Lee: Some other people have mentioned it but I think Sakura with Lee would be a great combo. Unlike Naruto who really just heals himself, Lee tends to burn fast and becomes unable to continue fighting. Put another space maker like Choji on the team and they can cover each other while Sakura gets them back into the fight. Plus as you mentioned, chakra control training for all three would be devastating. Naruto - Tenten - Shikamaru: Perfect. Sasuke - Kiba - Hinata: Level-headed, aggressive, and defensive respectively. Good balance of all techniques, visual and olfactory mastery, plus Hinata is the only girl who wouldn't annoy Sasuke because she hardly talks. Neji - Ino - Shino: Two teammates that can keep track of both Ino and opponents simultaneously. Both can also disable enemies and make them easy targets for soul transfer. Plus, Ino-Shino sounds funny together.
You forgot to put masters on the teams. But Sakura and Rock Lee would be op definitely after Sakura learned from Tsunade at the point she probably could heal Rock Lee after using 8 the gates which would be insane.
Tenten can also help Shikamaru by creating more sections of shadows to stretch out Shikamaru's reach and allow him to target peoples blind spots more effectively. Also Tenten targets from the sky, Naruto from eye level Shikamaru from the ground this basically information overload to in any battle
Also if the problem with Tenten's attacks is that anyone can dodge thrown weapons, throw in Shikamaru's shadow paralysis jutsu and she would be able pincushion anyone
One thing that I think gets overlooked a lot is that Tenten is great at fuinjutsu, something that Naruto should have been at least proficient in considering his clan. I mean, ask anyone what the Uzumaki clan was good at and the go to answer would be fuinjutsu, and yet even after Naruto knows about Karama no one thinks about teaching him any forms of resealing Kurama.
Shino and Shikamaru as a duo would be FUCKING TERRIFYING and one of THE BEST interrogation teams in all of Naruto. Just imagine you suddenly can't move for some reason and realize it's because an absolute menace who controls the shadows themselves snuck up far behind you and stuck his shadow to yours as a man with thousands of bugs pouring from his body approaches from the front telling you to spill all the info you know or else said thousands of bugs will pour themselves down your throat and do only god knows what to you from the inside out, ain't nobody in the whole series who'd keep their secrets if caught in that shit
Shikamaru is one of Naruto’s closest friends and literally does the exact role he described once Naruto became hokage by becoming his advisor, on top of that Naruto’s sibling chemistry with Tenten is pretty much off the charts as I could easily see wonderfully wholesome training scenes like Shikamaru asking the 2 “alright geniuses, what should you do if you have to face someone stronger than you? Well?” Only to immediately shut them down as they raise their hands by saying “assuming that throwing a rasengan or weapons at them isn’t a possible solution” followed by the 2 slowly putting their hands down 😂
But that would mean having the protag team actually working as a team and not whatever tension you can add and later design teachers just to make those in the whole generation overpowered.
The Hyuga's being together would be a damn good plot line. Neji's grudge would be forced to come to a head a lot sooner with Kakashi's style of conflict resolution. The whole those who betray their mission are scum, those who betray their friends are worse then scum thing.
That's a good reason to *not* put them together out the gate. Another is the redundancy. Yet another is if something happens to that team, that's *two* members of that major clan gone.
Tenten is what happens to characters with a ton of potential in a cast of hundreds. It just happens sometimes when building a story. I really wish she got more development.
Well, it's also that she didn't start as a strong character narrative wise, like all of the girls in Naruto. And since she didn't have a romantic subplot with a character with screentime, well you see where I'm going.
@@norock_The only one I'd say had a strong narrative was Sakura (still underwhelming for an lead character but we know it's bc she was a girl). Hinata literally did nothing and has less panels than Tenten in the manga. Ino was... Sakura's rival/sometimes friend? Sure, Sakura's obsession with Sasuke as well as Hinata's with Naruto gave them a bit more relevance especially the latter. It didn't serve their own characters anything though, actually the opposite. I say Tenten was better off unwritten than written badly.
@@emptyheaded7182 I do agree with you, I prefer tenten being basically a blank slate for other authors to actually flesh out the character in a way Kishimoto seems just unable to do. It's honestly the most frustrating part of Naruto to me, it's not even like the male characters are that deep or anything, but the girls seem just purposefully plain (I wonder why).
@@HypeLozerInc yeah she's like her idol. There's not much made with that tho, it's mostly for jokes. There could've been some really interesting stuff there, I'm guessing some of the spinoffs have something there.
It's funny how OG Team 7 was supposed to embody the 3 main Jutsu archetypes. Naruto for Taijutsu, Sasuke for Ninjutsu, and Sakura for Genjutsu. It was written that way with Naruto being a one-trick pony, Sasuke's affinity with multiple techniques thanks to the Sharingan, and Sakura's abnormally good chakra control and by extension is required for Genjutsu. Instead, Kishi went way overboard going into Shippuden and we got the imbalance we see now.
Hmm Idk about that, the whole genjutsu thing was because Sakura was suppose to be good at chakra control in general. You can see that she did excel in that, just that she applied it, to medical jutsu and strenght. So she still matches. Sasuke is still a master in many types of and Naruto other than the rasengan, still uses a lot of Tai Jutsu...
Yeaah it was supposed but then, everything end with: Naruto with ninjutsu, Sasuke with genjutsu and Sakura with taijutsu, that fits more their fight styles at the end.
yea, the OG Team 7 probably was never written with having in mind or the intention of having almost godlike beings at the end. I assume it was rather build that way based on what they can or what they were good at in the beginning.
While it’s true that Kakashi said that Sakura had affinity for genjutsu, she never showed much interest in learning it, and her personality really doesn’t match up with being a genjutsu user. Her approach to solving problems has always been to brute-force it, rather than try to find a delicate solution, as would be required with genjutsu. I think Ino has more of a genjutsu personality - she’s creative (with ikebana) and has a more delicate personality; however, she’s not as talented at chakra control. Hinata might have been even better at genjutsu because she has an even more delicate personality and she’s good at chakra control because of the gentle fist training. That might have been why she was put on Kurenai’s team… Also considering the fact that she was rejected by the Hyuga family at that time, the Third probably thought that Hinata might want to learn some non-Hyuga jutsu, like genjutsu.
@anastasiya256 I feel like you have the opposite idea of what would make a good gen jutsu user 🤣 Yes to chakra control, but not being delicate. Gen jutsu is about deception. So the personality requiered would be someone willing to do messed up stuff or at least make the person think messed up stuff happened. Basically you have to be cold. Hinata unfortunately would not be a good candiate for this. Medical would make more sense, considering how caring she is towards others. Which was part of her role in the team. Ino is actually a good candidate, because their mind jutsus are similar to genjutsus. In fact some of them are exactly that. Sakuras chakra control actually developed into medical jutsu, which also fits her ability to distribute proper amount of chakra and manipulate it...
In the episode that showed Tenten’s growth, it was shown that she could summon a small tortoise. If this ability was developed, if she made a contract with a summons animal or even multiple, she could have had the same ability as the path of Pain that summoned animals. This would have made her even cooler!
@@niccotalbert4378 he would've been a great asset to that team. His recon and strategic mind alone wouldve worked great and he would've made a great counter to the sound 4
The Naruto-Tenten-Azuma-Shikamaru and Sasuke-Sakura-Kurenai-Kiba teams in particular are fascinating to me. This makes me wish we had gotten more cross-pollination between the teams in the actual series, since each of the sensei had something to offer to the genin outside their teams. Also, Naruto and Tenten spamming the whole battlefield with shadow clones and shuriken only for any survivor to find himself caught in Shikamaru's shadow possession is an awesome thought.
Not gonna lie that I always felt Tenten was royally screwed over because of this, even an episode dedicated to Tenten finding out how she would grow as a ninja showed just how ill equipped Guy was with helping her grow. UPDATE: Holy crap, thanks for 1.6K likes guys! 😊
@@salazarcosplay Honestly something they should've done is replace those God awful filler episodes, with ones of her and the others training and growing. Tenten already has a perfect setup due to her loss to Temari, and with Asuma being around, she could've learned to incorporate Wind Style into her weapon attacks at the very least. Temari specializes in blowing her enemies away, Tenten could've specialized in the cutting aspect of Wind. And Hell, KIBA could've learned from Asuma and Kakashi over the years to incorporate elements into his Fang Over Fang!!
I remember a RUclipsr or someone on Reddit years ago found an excerpt stating that one of the ppl who helped with Naruto said that Ten Ten could have one of the most powerful ninjas just due to her ability to make weapons. The idea was that she’s was to eventual learn how to create weapons purely off someone’s ideas as long as the had a logical design for said weapon, basically full metal alchemist. Ex: if some has a diagram of a sword that could steal chakra and drawn out and explains how rather flow of chakra could be stolen…Ten Ten could make it. But it was dub too strong of an idea (of course as she would solve all problems) and was scrapped, and they never came back to her.
@kazkatgamer6722 this makes me think that maybe, the only way thr 7 swordsmen of the mist make sense is if one Ten s ancestors must had been the one making the weapons for the legendary swordsmen of the mist
Not to mention Tenten's entire combat style relies on fuinjutsu, something she's shown to be gifted at. Having her with Naruto, a scion of the Uzumaki who were renowned for their fuinjutsu would be really cool. She might have been able to help with the nine tails' seal, or with the other jinchuriki.
Tenten doesn't have seal expertise to deal with jinchuuriki. Kakashi actually has more seal feats than her due to what he did with Sasuke in Part 1. Unsealing weapons isn't really indicative of being talented with seals. That's like using a microwave and being considered a chef.
@@sethb3090 saying she could learn doesn't really mean much. Theoretically any of them could learn sealing, so why is Tenten attributed with that? Jiraiya, Kakashi, Orochimaru, Kushina, Minato, and Tobirama have notable seal feats/statements. I personally don't see what she did as implying she can seal jinchuuriki.
I think TenTen and Shikamaru is kind of slept on. I know Ten Ten just throws weapons, but it gives Shikamaru more Shadows to work with. She could extend his shadows to long range with Ten Ten's mastery. Plus, he's also shown he can throw weapons with his shadows. Like that would be an interesting team ultimate to have those two put someone in the blender like that lol
Thats whats scary about shika. We already saw how shikamaru fought with ten ten and naruto. Its literally the battle with temari. He used a kunai and jacket to create a shadow extender which shows how creative he is with weapons, and then suddenly used the whole naruto made. Thats literally shikamaru using naruto and tenten specialty. 😂
Shikamaru also created a jutsu that allows him to create a seal attached to a kunai and if that kunai enters your shadow you are paralysed . If him and ten ten work on that together naruto would have a breeze against opponents he normally would have a hard time catching (eg. haku).
Oh dang, this would be a really good combo, especially with Naruto creating a buffer between the enemy and his teammates using his clones, meaning they couldn't stop them from setting up their shadow-weapon combos like that.
@@IsaiahScott-l2d those were asuma’s chakra blades with fake paper bombs attached (absorbing the chakra type of the user) this let them use techniques without actively using a jutsu like we see danzo do with his fight with sasuke
My favorite part was when Kurenai never trained Hinata in genjutsu, even though the Byakugan can exponentially increase a genjutsu’s range, and Hinata also displayed very good chakra control with her twin lion fists.
@@gipsymelody1268 They don't have to be taijutsu users... Kakashi is a good taijutsu user, but he's not a taijutsu specialist. Choji is a taijutsu user, but he also uses ninjutsu. Genjutsu users don't have to be specialists either.
There’s a person who wrote a story with the kiba, sasuke, sakura team but the main focus of the story is more about hinata, naruto, shikamaru with hinata learning the bow…I think. Then it was Shino, ino, and chouji, and team guy was the same. So yknow, not exact but has at least one
I actually love the potential character dynamic of Shino's presence on team Guy, given that he is pretty shy and socially awkward having him paired with such high volume lunatics causes the comedy to write itself.
I'm wondering why Ino and Shikamaru were surprised when they were picked to be team 10, seeing how their parents, and clans have been paired and working together for 15 generations prior.
@@johannes5618it properly wasnt planned in the beginning that their families worked together for so many generations. This is a really intriguing concept. Personally I wouldn't use Naruto and Sasuke's abilities in the 4th ninja war as reference though. I think it would be more interesting if we try to match each member's usual fighting style and ability with one another. Here's how my list would go: - Naruto, Hinata, Shikamaru, Asuma: Naruto even before the 4th ninja war is already a powerhouse that can fight pretty much anyone and anything by himself. Shikamaru is here mainly for his brain, and Hinata is here to provide the team with her Byakugan mainly to support and defend Shikamaru. For a planner, information is key, and Hinata's map hack with Byakugan gonna make Shikamaru even more big brain than he already is. Also Shadow Possession into Twin Lion Fist is absurdly powerful to quickly disable any opponent - Sasuke, Tenten, Choji, Kakashi: Tenten is actually also known as master of Fuinjutsu. We saw in the second Chuunin exam that she can seal almost anything in her scroll, including water and fire. Now imagine if she found a way to store Amaterasu provided by Sasuke in her scroll for Sasuke to use and preserve Sasuke's chakra. Another combo I could think of is Tenten summon a sea of water for Sasuke and Kakashi to hit it with his Chidori for amp up Chidori, or Tenten summon oil to amplify Sasuke's fireball justsu. On the other hand, Tenten also shown to be able to store food in her scrolls, which would help to provide plenty of calories for Choji to use his Yang Release. Tenten potentially could also control Choji the same way Shikamaru does in the InoShikaCho formation by using string instead of shadow and wield him like a weapon. And imagine if Sasuke somehow found a way to coat a giant Choji with Susanoo... - Rock Lee, Ino, Shino, Guy: Honestly you nailed this team. The onlything I would add is that Ino have 2 very useful ability in this team. First of all, her healing is very useful in this team since Lee/Guy is a 8th gate user, which put a lot of toll on tneir body. Secondly, Ino have the ability to sense chakra and transfer this information to her ally, which essentially could give Lee/Guy a Sharingan lite. - Neji, Sakura, Kiba, Kurenai: I didn't really put much thought into this team, but it's almost like the upgraded version of the original team 8. Neji is a direct upgrade over Hinata, and Sakura's fighting style fit a lot better with the 2 close quarters combat specialist on her team. I also love the idea of Kurenai mentoring Sakura in using Genjutsu so I keep them together as well.
As good as NC did on them, I did feel like the last team was just kinda the leftovers, this reconfiguration (yours) however makes it feel as though they're all mostly being utilized to their greatest potential. As one can when some characters just can't perfectly mesh with other characters, but that's why this subject was touched on.
@@SmallvilleStudio If I’m being completely honest, I would’ve put Sakura in team Guy. Imagine Sakura the best medical ninja in the verse learn to open 8 gate and Taijutsu from Guy… But for the sake of trying to make a balance team, a team with Neji Ino Kiba Kurenai is just too weak.
Tbh I kinda like your version better. Your Neji and Sakura on the same team would give Neji more constant character growth as Sakura embodies that parentage is not important for greatness better than any other character in Naruto. Kiba and Neji probably balance each other out on the seriosness spectrum, there are some incredible character growth opportunities in that one. Neji could also scan a body with Byakugan to see what's wrong with it and that should make Sakura's medical abilities all that much more effective. Maybe Kiba can teach some ninja dogs to carry medicine or something to help make them a better disaster response team since dogs like St Bernards have done similar stuff in the real world.
Tenten could have been portrayed as the ultimate backline support member of a war. If they would have just used her in scenes where she's supplying thousands of ninjas with weapons and bows in a pinch moment during some of the key battles, it honestly would have fixed her entire existence. Yeah, she still wouldn't be a strong character, but she nobody expects her to be anyway. Having ninjas skip the process of gathering weapons to head to battle and just rely on Tenten's infinite inventory would have been dope for her as a character. Also, she should have been a weapon's trainer, helping more skilled Shinobi find their perfect weapon.
The weird thing is, we see shinobi succeeding in just using weapons ALL THE TIME yet for some reason Tenten is weak because of it? That never really made sense to me. Also, there's no real reason given why Tenten isn't able to weave Ninjutsu or Genjutsu into her fighting either. She just ... doesn't. Zabuza and Kisame were iconic because of their weapon usage. Killer Bee's coolest moment was when he was juggling swords mid-fight. All things they could have easily implemented with her, but just ... didn't.
Lol...what?? No it wouldnt. Supplying common weapons for the most part were useless. What Tenten needed was SPECIAL WEAPONS LIKE EVERY OTHER NOTEABLE NINJA USING WEAPONS HAD.
Keep in mind her weapon deployment comes from her affinity for sealing techniques, which is one of the most unique abilities to have. She could've became a successor to the Animal Path Pain if she gained guidance on how to seal and deploy more complicated objects and even living beings. Imagine fighting her and suddenly you're stuck in a pocket dimension because you accidentally touched her scroll.
I think the biggest change I would make is swapping Hinata with Kiba. I don’t think both Byakugan users need to be on the same team. Both can serve as their respective sensor type and I think Kiba could do well training under Kakashi as both utilize Ninja dogs as well as can help Kiba learn elemental jutsu which could help him expand his arsenal. Plus Hinata seemed to do well under Kuranai so I think switching the two just work.
Agreed but I actually would have switched neji instead of hinata since neji is a genius so hinata would benefit more with combat learning from kakashi as opposed to Kurenai. Plus he keeps someone who is capable of medical jutsu on 3 out 4 teams.
This is asuming Kakashi will teach them anything when everything we see in the series is that even tho he's one of the best ninja he kinda sucks as a teacher... which being a genious with a cheat such as a sharingan does make a lot of sense, is the typical case of can't understand what his students are not understanding "why dont they just get good?" And they did when they ditched him and found someone else to actually teach them shit xd
Hinata being with Kurenai is one of her biggest help for character growth iirc. Kurenai helped her become more confident in herself so replacing Hinata with Kiba makes sense.
Tenten-Naruto-Shikamaru is also great because their abilities would work together from the start to the end, at the start all of them were gimicks characters : Naruto spamming shadow clones, tenten throwing weapons and Shikamaru using his shadow technique; and I see so many ways to combine these three styles, like Tenten providing infinite weapons to naruto's clones and these clones launching an heavy rain of weapons at the opponent while Tenten catches their movementss with precises shots, and even if it isn't enough Shikamaru could still catch the opponent at any time as they would be distracted and as he has an almost infinite amount of shadows with the ones of the kunais. (And you perfectly explain why they would work together at the end)
Tenten is actually the perfect teammate for shikamaru. Give shikamaru unkimited weapons and he will have unlimited plans not to metion he got a weapon master in his arsenal. At the same time while he sets everything up the knuckle head tank that is naruto is distracting enemies at the same time listening ti the plans.
i'm more interested in how much of an impact they will have on eachother morally, naruto will actually have friends who actually support and Accept him early on and he will be alot smarter from shikamaru while also being closer to his roots from learning fuinjutsu from TenTen. TenTen would be Alot stronger because of the way Naruto motivates others, She's always been competitive unlike beginning of the series sakura so She would actually be developing at a fast rate both mentally and skill wise thanks to Naruto and Shikamaru. Shikamaru would be less willing to give up fights and learn to create ways to win thanks to naruto, he would also seek ways to get stronger and be less gimmick reliant as naruto gets stronger.
I feel like a big problem with the teambuilding in Naruto can be contributed to Narutos bad world building, felt like the creator had no idea what jutsus they would get, or what enemies they would face later on in the story, hence not optimizing the team setup early on.
I think this is actually a good thing. The Hokage didn't know what jutsus or enemies they would face either. While he might have had an inkling that Naruto would be able to use the tailed beast's powers, a lot of it was to balance power (ie: Rock Lee and Naruto, the weakest of their classes, were paired with the strongest). He also seemed to pair the teachers with the students. Guy is the greatest taijutsu user, so he got the students who could benefit from him most. The Kurenai team was clearly designed to be putting the trackers together to learn off each other. He had no discretion with Ino-Shik-Cho, and putting Sauske with Kakashi was completely obvious at the time. At the beginning of the manga, the teams did seems reasonably balanced. It's just not reasonable to use the evidence from the later arcs because they didn't have this knowledge when the teams were formed. Yes, later development meant that they became completely imbalanced, but that is expected.
I would argue the exact opposite, teams in the actual Naruto canon are clearly set up with the actual in-lore logic in mind, as apposed to what MCHammer is proposing in the vid. He's trying to turn every team into combat all-arounders when it makes more sense that a shinobi village needs teams that suit a specific function and do that function extremely well. You want Hinata, Kiba, and Shino together as a recon team because that means they can do recon missions as efficiently as possible, as apposed to having hinata on a different team and trying to only rely on Byakugan for the recon mission. Using this kind of logic the teams make good sense: Asuma's team is the all-arounder, Kurenai's team are the tracking/recon specialists, Guy's team are the reliable power group with the most efficient team work, and team 7 are the trainee group designed to be molded by Kakashi's rigorous teambuilding.
I'd swap Sasuke and Choji here. Yes, Sasuke wouldn't get as much genjutsu training, but in early Naruto he's exactly what this team needs: A long range specialist. It's established in the early days of Naruto Sasuke is extremely talented in fire jutsu as well as shuriken jutsu. He can provide some backline damage for the team and still work with Kakashi on training his sharingan in it's less genjutsu based abilities. Choji doesn't fit quite as cleanly into Kurenai's team, but I do think that Choji could benefit a lot from learning chakra control and mixing that with his expansion jutsu. After all, his clan's primary technique is turning body fat into massive amounts of raw chakra, imagine what he could do with that chakra if he fine tuned it
Completely agree, the placements would still all make sense, with one less possible genjutsu user in the kurenai team, but honestly choji having genjutsu would be kinda cool, paralysing an enemy and then smooshing them and just having better chakra control. Plus both choji and kiba have wide ranging attacks, which gives alot of space for the genjutsu users to do their magic, or for sakura to heal a team member real quick to get back into the fight. Choji and kiba are kinda underwhelming overall so it's hard to find amazing placements for them either way. As for the kakashi team... it's literally the dojutsu team. Kakashi only taught sasuke chidori cuz he is kind of a shit teacher, not because he couldn't have taught him more... after all, he's the copy ninja. And having sasuke would give the team a bit more range, it would round out kakashi team more.
@@Emily-pq6zd Oh also another thing, neji and sasuke are both geniuses of their respective clans, you could definitely see a major rivalry between them that could force them to push each other to new heights

The new team 7 build would even be effective earlier in the story when they don't have access to KCM cloak. Tenten could force enemies into positioning for shadow paralysis and then Naruto could hit them with his early iterations of the rasengan or other early attacks he gains.
She could also arm his clones. He spams them by the hundreds and if her weapons are by the hundreds they could have more than the one kuni or shirakin you see used.
@@Short-mistress Damn that's so true. Just an army of Narutos each wielding a different weapon. Opponents having to adapt to at least 10 different weapon types on the spot isn't going to be likely.
@@inplane9970Lol, imagine Tenten performing twin dragons rising, and Naruto clones catching her weapons and running after enemy with maniacal laughter
Plus Naruto could become a very lethal close range. Combatant if he got a duplicate pair of his trench knives and started using flying swallow because while they're immobilized they would get cut in half
Tenten really could have been a very cool character. Every other kenjutsu specialist we see in Naruto is kind of iconic. It's very strange how there is a lot of support for a kenjutsu type character front and center in Naruto, but the most we ever get is Sasuke picking up a sword for intermittent use. Theres whole arcs about hidden swordsmen of the mist, the samurai military forces who are touched on while Sasuke is attacking the Kage summit, ect. If Tenten just had a powerful weapon that she used regularly, and used the techniques we see from other kenjutsu users, she would be a lot more dynamic as a character.
I love the team picks. I’d love to see a fanfic that redoes it like this. I will be honest for the Konoha 12 my favorite characters in terms of concept were always Naruto, Shikamaru, and Tenten. I feel if say they were picked together while Sasuke and Sakura were with Kiba Naruto could have a distant rivalry during joint missions while not always being together when they meet up they go all out. Also Shino, Ino, and Lee in addition to being very complimentary also has very good comedic potential between the 3. Ino could easily swing from funny man to straight man roles depending on who she’s reacting to whether it be Lee, Shino, or Gai. I think I would’ve enjoyed early Naruto more from a character development standpoint with these teams at least upon rewatch because of the balancing issues that come early on.
@@johanstenfelt1206 I imagine there’s some with different teams, but not these exact combinations. Or at least that I found through a preliminary review.
personally I would have swapped Tenten and Hinata though. Tenten gives the new team kakashi some much needed ranged ability, and kakashi knows a whole lot of jutsus he can teach to Tenten. Plus without sasuke on the team i dont think Kakashi will over focus on training one student. Kakashi really started to overfocus on Sasuke after he found out Orochimaru was pursuing him, thus Kakashi felt the need to focus everything on Sasuke to prepare him for that threat. Hinata likewise gives new team Asuma some much needed recon, and while Naruto is a very powerful fighter and develops very capable recon, that's only much later in the series. Whereas throughout all of the pre timeship and much of shippuden, Naruto is a dud when it comes to recon. Though this does give new team asuma some weakness in the ranged department early on, Asuma and Shikamaru's intellect can make up for that, plus having a byakugan user to greatly increase their situational awareness.

I think konoha 12 besides the main 3 characters, weren’t meant to have a lot of screen time originally. They were just meant to be stepping stones for the main characters to develop on. But a few characters were extremely popular, so the writer tried to bring them back or make them relevant as the story progresses. Unfortunately since those characters are tied with their team, their team members are forced to show faces as well.
Well I think these teams are great with the information that we have now of what. They become a lot more difficult when you look at where they were originally when they were placed in teams. It would’ve been so much easier than what they had to go through with Jiraiya and Yamato… It’s too bad that we never got to see Kakashi attempt to control Kurama with his sharingan (iirc?)
Honestly, from a character development standpoint, your Team Kakashi might just come out on top. Kakashi being a bit of bland realist would do well at addressing Choji's low self-esteem, Hinata's void of self-esteem outside of Naruto, and Neji's extremely high self-esteem. Putting them in scenarios where they would have to overcome their worse traits together since those very traits could be caused and mended by those very traits. Neji as the bully who learns to care for those he deems weaker than himself, Choji as the sensitive one who learns to have tougher skin, and Hinata the quiet one who learns that she has to speak up to be heard. All with a sensei who will not hold their hands through it all. Add in elemental control, trail by fire tactics, rivalry based training, and an environment that will not allow for failure of character. They might be a squad of city busters but they would be a team with the best synergy.
Neji and hinata definitely need to be ona team together. So much bad blood for no reason. The 1 thing kakashi was about (although did fail at it) was teamwork. And with just a but of a push i think this team could do it vs the original team 7 which would need massive therapy for sasuke..
Also, Hinata was the medical ninja for the team, so, you’ve still got a healer. Plus, Kakashi can cover long range, even if the others don’t have particularly damaging elemental affinity, such as earth. This team is almost as balanced as the other 3. And while not Team 7 or Ina-Shika-Cho level, much more relevant.
Yeah, Kakashi is the only teacher really shown caring about and making an effort to improve team synergy and attitudes within the team (unfortunately Sasuke was on his team, man did his best) and he'd work great for them good catch. I'm sure the other teachers were good too, casualties of no screentime though so we'll never know.
@craigyeah1052 Right? Though, I would have loved to see Kurenai teaching her team synergy. I imagine it being like a sitcom 80% of the time. Kiba being stubborn and always going in aggressive, Shino just watching him struggle until he understands the opponent and thanking Kiba for being gullible, Hinata trying to defuse the one sided arguments, and Kurenai just glad it took longer than last time for Kiba to get upset with Shino.
Good points, and I'm not sure if this was mentioned but Tenten with potential for seals, teaming up with an "Uzumaki" Naruto could be really interesting.
Honestly, I would love to see an arch between Neji and Hinata learning to exist together. Since we really only got a glimpse of their history in their Chunin fight. Plus seeing one person getting double 128 palmed or whatever would be insane.
Also, i think pairing them with Kakashi would be most beneficial for the whole team as his knowledge and ability of elemental release and wide array of ninjutsu would be very effective in helping them achieve some mid-long range capabilities.
@@SherlockPiesthe only team that doesn’t have a solid sensory type ninja is the one with Susgay and Sakura so I don’t think it’d be too bad to have the two on the same team.
And it's would be funny to see Neji struggling between his overprotective self and also not liking Hinata because of cultural reasons. Neji just screaming and accusing poor Hinata as Choji is is angry them because their argument caused him to spill his chips.
For Team 8: I would argue there is tactical value to having a whole squad focused on recon. Teams aren't really used this way in Naruto, but it would make sense to have missions divided into the recon component and an execution component, and it makes sense to have the redundancy to cover more ground and account for genjutsu. Basic idea would be to gather Intel then report back so a less discrete team could be sent in fully prepared.
@@karthiknarayanan3705 I like Naruto but the point at which these characters could reasonably call themselves ninjas sailed around the same point the giant frog did battle with the angry sand raccoon. At this point, Michelangelo doing the fedora and trench coat bit is a more effective stealth ninja than anyone in konoha.
I love how many people say "naruto is not about that kind of stuff" when someome mentions stealth and stuff like that but even in shippuden Kakashi says "one of the virtues of a shinobi is stealth" so yeah, in universe i can see how a team like that could work though i think Shino was a bit of a bad match for Kurenai as a teacher. Man had to feed chakra to his bugs, and really precise amounts to some of them, so using another skill that requires focus and precise control sounds like they would get in the way of using each other properly. It would have been really terrifying to have Shino with genjutsu tho, imagine you are fighting him and you don't even know some bugs are already draining chakra from you or you waste a huge amount of chakra to get rid of a group only to realize that modt of them were an illusion? I would have loved if something like that happened.
I'd love to see this list again but done from the perspective of them coming right out of Ninja Academy and becoming Genin, based around the skills and jutsu that they had available to them as Genin. I think deciding based on their future versions is cool but like if they were teamed up in different ways then they also would have had different experiences as far as Mission Experience and opportunities to learn.
naruto would view TenTen as an older sister who could help him learn his clans strengths being fuinjutsu! Naruto and TenTen would also be alot smarter in this version having worked with shikamaru and Asuma who are strategist. Naruto would Motivate the team to become stronger than they ever thought possible due to his personality and the power creep he gains making TenTen and Shikamaru develop stronger jutsu's just to keep up with him better.
Just listen! Naruto - Tenten - Hinata under Asuma: Team Trap Shino - Shikamaru- Neji under Kakashi: Team Unbothered Rock Lee - Choji - Kiba under Guy: Team Taijutsu Ino - Sasuke - Sakura under Kurenai: Team Genjutsu I thought of rounding characters and their teachers before the whole team, because I considered their versions fresh out of the Academy. What do you think?
The new team 7 sounds so fun. Like can you imagine what shikamaru can do with an army of Naruto? It would be chaos. Also he was one of the few people who was friends with naruto in the academy. Also tenten throwing her bazillion weapons enhanched by naruto or asuma's wind jutsu will be so much stronger.
I was happy when he mentioned Shikamaru being the same team with Naruto, Shikamaru and Choji is the first and second people who befriended Naruto in the academy. Their bond has lasted for a very long time, hence why Shikamaru also become the vice hokage alongside him.
We already saw what shikamaru can do with tenten and naruto when he fought against temari. Give a guy some weapons and narutos creative battle tactics and he will dominate. Dude literally use kunai and a jacket with a whole naruto dig and almost won the match. 😂😂 Thats he mean not giving a damn
Naruto and Tenten: "we could beat him by rampaging" Shikamaru: "what if we have Naruto make all his shadow-clones with their raseneguns and then smash them together to make one huge one as Tenten throws a bunch of weapons into it that'll be deflected at enemies by the force of the chakra as it's about to destroy them? " Naruto: "SICK!! " Tenten: "cool!!"
We can't forget that with the HinaNegiChoji team that its also technically double recon aswell as a triple threat. It gives plenty of scouting before a fight and makes for an easier strategy to be planned out. Think of it like, Hinata and Neji both use Byakugan to get a layout, Choji could also potentially use his power to group enemies together instead of spread them apart, and Kakashi and Choji could fight together while Hinata and Neji provide backup support? Potentially, I'm trying here 😭
Great line ups, my only problem is you made these teams at their peak. Not when they got formed. I feel like when they got out of the academy or at least beginning of shippuden would be a good way to arrange them
You based Naruto's new team almost entirely off of his adult abilities. It's hard to say where the academy would have put him if they were trying to make balanced teams because he was so bad at everything as a child. Though even without that I think him with Ten Ten and Shikamaru works well. Naruto covers recon and CQC with shadow clones, which simultaneously makes space for his teammates and reduces the risk of Ten Ten killimg him by hurling weapons everywhere.
So few people realize this, it's literally the first thing I thought when he said how Naruto could do everything...yeah, in the bullshit war arc. Up to sage training Naruto was a one trick poney who had strictly nothing but numbers for the 1st half of p1, then he got the toad summoning contract that, for Kishimoto's dumb reasons, he only used twice, first time against Gaara (for obvious reasons) and second time because Jiraiya couldn't do it against Orochimaru and Kabuto. He could have summoned the same kind of middle-sized toads Jiraiya often used in combat instead of spending a full tank on a giant summon who doesn't want to help most of the time until the stakes force him to. Then Naruto learned rasengan AFTER the chûnin exams, when there wasn't much left of p1 to use it for, it was instantly nerfed (Kabuto healing himself in advance...sorry man, healing doesn't work like that, this is NOT Pokemon, you can't use Wish and get healed 2 turns later automatically, allowing you to use Barrier before the attack hits), leaving Naruto with a technique that was barely better than a chakra infused punch for the rest of the series (and only because it adds one fist worth of attack range over a chakra infused punch...). At the end of the day, p1 Naruto was crap due to holding him back, a crappy team leader who didn't teach anything worth mentioning to his genin who didn't have a clan to learn from unlike Asuma and Kurenai's genin, and due to no one correcting his terrible habits and lack of skill. In p2, he needed Fukasaku's training to even be worth a promotion to something else than chûnin, still lacked teamwork and leadership so he wouldn't even be promoted to chûnin, and it's not until the war arc that Naruto learnt some versatility (well, learnt is a big word, let's say that Kyûbi cut his work for him and then the sage of six paths added his own mayonnaise to the Kyûbi dish).
@@vannieuwenbergwilliam7792 you forget naruto to is good at outdoor survival, can outhide all ninja but iruka, paint the the monument and only get caught once he was finished
@@anastasija6866 Outdoor survival is an academy skill (or it's supposed to be). Hiding is basically in the job description and Naruto forgot about it the moment he learnt shadow clones. Paint the monument was literally a gag, showing the boy's tendency to make pranks and other childish things to get some attention. At that point it was just like reading Young Spirou. Don't take the first chapters of the manga too seriously.
yeah, my biggest gripe with this video is that he's reconfiguring the teams based on where they are as adults after all of their growth, which would only happen because of the experiences that they had, which would only happen because of their close relationships, teachers, and missions - things that resulted directly from their team placements. Naruto would not be Naruto if he didn't have a reason to chase somebody powerful like Sasuke. He was objectively the weakest at the start of the show. Fanboys can talk all they want about how he was actually super powerful because of the comic relief pranks that he pulled, but come on. It was made pretty clear that he couldn't make a basic clone when everyone else could, his grades were behind everyone else's, he couldn't beat ANYONE in a fight, he had no sense of teamwork, and he was dumb as rocks. The show was not subtle about this early characterization. I would like to see a realistic reconfiguration based on the inclinations that everyone showed in the beginning of the series. It's much more compelling to think about working around 12 year old Naruto's limitations imo. Put him with people who can channel his energy, motivation, and competitiveness like Guy and Rock Lee, and people with high emotional intelligence like Shikamaru or Hinata. On top of that, him and Lee can relate to each other because they both have huge struggles to overcome and could motivate each other. 12 year old Naruto was the problem child who had to be worked around. No one knew he was going to gain so much power.
@@vannieuwenbergwilliam7792uh yeah you seem have to forgotten Kabuto didn't just heal, Naruto destroyed his organs with the rasengan and he couldn't even heal that so clearly that is definitely better than a chakra infused punch nice try tho
@@jadenmurray1325 He literally knows 1000 Jutsu lol. He could teach him alot. plus in the OG series, Sasuke spent the last 2 arcs in a coma and running away from Konoha so he and Kakashi were only rlly together for like, 2 arcs. I'd say Kakashi taught him alot in just 2 arcs.
Agreed. Sasuke's genjutsu is perfectly fine from the moments we've seen him use it pre-Boruto. He simply doesn't use it much. Kakashi should remain his sensei as Kurenai doesn't have much to offer him.
"He wanted to train an emo how to make his mouth scream" is a pretty amazing line ngl. Also i think an interesting follow-up to this video would be exploring how these teams would have progressed from the beginning of the series were these the setups
Yeah, I'm wondering how Hinata survives until Shippuden while being on the same team as Neji. Naruto meanwhile, has a much better start. I've always considered Shikamaru to be his ACTUAL best friend. Sasuke is... a complicated friend.
TenTen and Naruto combo actually sounds pretty powerful early on since both have abilities dedicated to spamming stuff; in Naruto's case himself, in TenTen's case enough weapons to equip an army. Sure, you could argue that lore-wise it isn't a likely combo since team guy graduated before Naruto did, but its still an interesting scenario. I think the actual teams matter a bit less after the main series since they move around more and that perhaps the more important thing is which teams are most effective early on. Sakura and Sauske with Kurenai definantly makes more sense in that regard. Not entirely sure about the rest. Interesting video at any rate.
Nice Roster Nick. I would have preferred starting at the premise of Part 1 Naruto tho. I would of loved to see new team setups while they were still very young and inexperienced because that would build a whole new dynamic between teammates and teacher. If we start Konoha 12 back to when they were kids, I would set them up similar to your picks: Team Asuma Naruto, Shika, TenTen (exact same reasons you laid out) Team Gai Lee and the SHINO-INO combo (Agreed; these two would be prep to paralyze their enemy and then Gai/Lee breaks them) Now here's where I switch it up.. Team Kurenai Sakura, Neji, Choji (This would be my team because Kurenai would actually help all three blossom in their own way. Sakura would get a huge genjutsu boost while Neji could even learn a thing or two as far as genjutsu. Maybe he could use with his own dojutsu. Choji would get reprimanded for eating habits but awaken the courage and confidence he needs to make an impact in battle; especially with genjutsu users on his team. Choji would wreak havoc tbf.) Team Kakashi Sasuke, Hinata, Kiba (Ok this one makes sense to me. Kakashi gets extra pair of sharingan, gets new puppy friend and gets to learn more about Byakugan. Kakashi was the one who mentioned the relation Sharingan has to Byakugan so this team would actually be sensational imo. Kakashi will teach Sasuke and teach a little to Kiba cause he a fellow dog owner; and then take some time to watch over Hinata and coach her on building herself through training and attitude by letting her know that her life isn't as bad as it might seem and that it's better to be grateful instead of timid.)
Lord Naruto, Tenten, Shikamaru should of been a thing. The number of things possible between them as well as the teams interactions in general would have been so much better than what we got.
I imagine in the endgame Tenten and Nartos clones constantly trading spaces trough scroll summonings. Like Naruto as hokage just has some clones gathering nature chakra strategically placed around the leaf village, under shikamaru’s guidance of course, and using sage senses to find problems. Then tenten swaps places with them and takes care of all the small scale issues. While Hokage Naruto and advisor shikamaru focus on the big picture stuff and Naruto is always ready with peak chakra levels at any given moment.
Tenten learns about Hinata's crush: Tenten: "Naruto. ... " *poke* "Naruto. .. " Naruto: "I know she does this all the time. It's really weird" Shikamaru: "Naruto you are an idiot" Tenten: "your such an idiot that your gonna meet my little freind." *pulls out some insane weapon*
With both Neji and Hinata on the team, they are more precision close combat, while Chouji is more large scale combat. The latter can disrupt enemy formations and let the three doujutsu uses strike fast and hard. And as you said, Kakashi's ninjutsu expertise would do well for not just the two who have the second best eyes for ninjutsu, bit also Chouji who could use a but more support for his yang-release centric style. Might even help him perfect that butterfly mode to make it a viable technique and not just a dying gasp.
I think Kurenai and sasuke goes beyond just the tactical genjutsu aspect. Personally I think mental stability played a central role in Naruto, specially with Sasuke. Kurenai could have been a motherly figure, could even help Sasuke cope with his trauma using her genjutsu as tool for this. Maybe she could offer Sasuke some affection and kindness that another Sensei could not
It honestly always bothered me that Tenten never put chakra on her weapons. I always imagined Tenten would have the hilt of like a samurai sword, but it would just be the hilt and she would run her chakra through it and create a blade made completely outta chakra and look like she’s literally wielding a lightsaber😂
If naruto stayed grounded and didnt do dragon ball shenanigans i think it wouldce been fine if tenten was just chucking weapons here and there. Naruto had some potential to be good imo its just that after the 1st arc of shippuuden all went to shit. All most of the powers and abilities in naruto became useless in shippuuden and almost all the characters as well.
I also think Sasuke would have benefit from having either Asuma or Kurenai as a Sensei. They are both shown to be very caring teachers who become pseudo parents to their teams. They could have helped Sasuke overcome his trauma through kindness and opening up, or at the very least get him into therapy. They might have even been able to keep Sasuke in the village. I love Kakashi but that man is so emotionally stunted and traumatized its ridiculous. But yeah cool teams, I like all the switch’s and different concepts you went with. Awesome video!
I really like Shino and Shikamaru's new spots. Kiba and Naruto are similar in personality, so I imagine having him along with Sakura and Sasuke would create a very similar dynamic as og team 7, though I'm not sure that's a good thing. I think putting Naruto with Asuma is brilliant as it would be the 3rd making these, and with Asuma being family, the 3rd would want to a) entrust the ninetails to someone close and someone strong, and b) give a troubled orphan someone positive to look up to, guide him, and encourage him. I like your other teams a lot, except for the Hyugas; at the time Neji absolutely hated Hinata, and I don't think it would be healthy; especially with Kakashi heading them...that team is just asking for someone like Kakuzu to pull up and get em. That's assuming they even make it past the bell test. I do like Neji with Kakashi though, Neji like Sasuke was heading down a dark path and Kakashi's been there and come back, so its a good choice there. Hinata needed strength, courage, resolve etc, she should definetely go with Guy. Overall though, pretty good teams, and a great video. Thanks for making this, it was fun to think about
I think Sakura would've been better suited in a team with guy and Lee. Not only can she heal them when they use the gates, and can learn 8 gates and stack 100 heals. She'd be the strongest hand to hand user. Chogi learning any gates to stack on his size would be insane.
imagine opening 8 gates and 100 seals at the same time, ur healing as fast a your body is being burnt away while giving you the absolute most amount of power amp a taijutsu user could have the only downside is that you will still reduce your age at a rapid rate since your cells are constantly burning itself every second, but on the bright side you'll be able to pull of moves like Sekizo and Night guy over and over and over again instead of it being a finishing move only
Um would that make kurenai useless. I would rather have sakura and kurenai have bonding to say the least "she might be have the same level or half as an Uchiha genjutsu" to sakura
Sakura was touted as being proficient in Genjutsu and as such should have been on Kurenei’s team and remember she wouldn’t have medical jutsu or super strength if she were on Guy’s team she only learned that because she trained under Tsunade and she only did that because Naruto was with Jiraiya and Sasuke was with Orochimaru
I think one bad call you made while making that list is sorting them by what they are capable at the end of the story, not what they do at the start of it or at least end of 1st series.
While that's true. Even looking at them growing, most of the teams would be of people that fill each other's weaknesses. Naruto isn't a tactician, but giving him a solid one that understands how much raw power he's capable of...not a bad idea. Meanwhile Naruto and Tenten are definitely going to push each other in combat. Especially as Naruto actually is pretty handy with thrown weapons as a kid. The same goes for something like Neji and Hinata. Neji is going to be a bastard at first, but no way on earth is Kakashi letting that stand and so they end up working together and Hinata gets stronger while Neji is forced to develop as a person. Most of the teams would work pretty well, even with them growing as people along the way.
I think it would be more interesting if he sorted them base on their ability right before the 4th ninja war. The 4th ninja war have too many random power up that change a lot of some team’s dynamic. For example Naruto for all intent and purposes is a dps that excel in close quarter combat. But in this new team’s he is just pretty much a glorify battery for Tenten and Shikamaru
@@umidh2345 Is he? He's still the best close quarters fighter on the team and the dps. Heck, if anything he's more dedicated to that here than he was with Sasuke on the team. Naruto is the tank of this team and Tenten is his midrange backup, who he can super charge so that she can join him in dps or who can pull out a variety of other helpful if potentially niche options. And Shikamaru is again the brains.
Naruto, Shikamaru, and Tenten might be the strongest team in chuunin exam During chuunin exam Naruto basically can only use shadow clone and he don't use it effectively. He use his clone to overwhelm the enemy with number But with Shikamaru and Tenten, Naruto clone basically become a well equiped army that can be fitted for many roles. Naruto provided the army Tenten provided the weapon and Shikamaru planning. Not to mention Naruto clone can be fitted with different weapons depending on the situation required. Need to keep the enemy at bay? Equip Naruto's clone with spears and make a phalanx formation or something. Need to capture enemy? Equip him with chain hook. Need a long range? Equip him with bow. This team is basically Zhuge Liang with a well armed army packed in three person team
Thank you sooo much for making this video Nick lol. I thought I was the only one saying “these teams make no sense how tf are they supposed to be effective.” and none of my friends listen
Shino with elite Taijutsu makes him a team on his own tbh. Not sure how well he could coordinate the movement of his insects while in heated combat, but considering how well he did it in the chunin exam I can imagine he had mastered that by Shippuden in the team structure he had. With a teacher like Might Guy that would, one could imagine, cause his progress to speed up expeditiously.
I'm imagining something like megumis first domain expansion from jjk but with bugs A mass of insects getting in an opponents way, blocking their vision, distracting them, and even creating insect clones, while shino is up close throwing hands and taking advantage of every distraction
My brother and our friend were making a Naruto RPG once, we were struggling to balance the team correct, because everyone wanted to make someone good at throwing hands so we all agreed to make hybrid. My brother's character was a Hyuuga member, a tomboyish girl who I'm pretty sure to this day it's Toph if she got fire bending and wind bending instead, cause she act like her. She was our recon because of her byakugan, had blue flames (I swear, he watched Avatar, plus it does fit with your idea of gentle fist with fire) and was pretty much burning people with rotation. She was the best to deal with multiple enemies there, and the best to take out stronger enemies in ninjutsu for obvious reasons, while also having higher Battle IQ (read you like a book). Her backstory was about she hating on her clan traditions or something, she wanted to make her own version of the gentle fist and was too agressive to her clan. They said she suck at everything, but was because they weren't teaching her right. Our friend's character was a handy character. He was a ninja medic, a blacksmith and kenjutsu master also being quite skilled with grabbing techniques. He was great with a bow too, knowing suiton and something of fuuton and doton which he only used defensively. To be quick with the plot, his mom was a medic anbu from Sand who was betrayed and left to die at Kawa, she was saved by a blacksmith who took care of her and they fell in love, she left all behind and raised their child strong, kind and bold. The kid was always training with his mom, helping her at healing people in the village, or his father at the workshop, sometimes hunting with his bow to help saving money. He grew admiring ninjas like legendary warriors and hating those thugs in the wild. One day a war criminal from Konoha's elite who was an Anbu and Konoha's "chemical weapon" developer escaped prison. The guy was an Aburame so naturally he used insects, and that night his new parasite went for a test and infected everyone in the village making people decay by having organs falling as their own chakra was overactive in points were should which were causing such illness, a parasite affecting the chakra and making it harm it's host. Those with superior chakra control wasn't so affected, so him being good at it managed to be well while his mother also did she couldn't save everyone, so she choosed to let the train roll over the people focusing on saving her husband and son first, which her son couldn't agree and tried to use his abilities to keep others alive until help showed up, he passed out sick and powerless. The Konoha ninjas who were investigating the area arrived, they managed to help those who didn't died yet but were degrading. They gave them a serum to the parasite and took them to Konoha, everyone had scars on their dying skin cells which caused people to fear their state thinking that it was contagious. The boy had a hard time after, since some blame his mother for half of them dying or being that degraded, others were sympathetic, people at konoha thought he was plagued and cast him away and he grew older to be a strong genin but also limited, since he had some chronic damage in his stomach and urinal system, which the parasite affected more, so when he uses too much chakra he can't ease his pain and his weakned state reveal itself. Being a menace at start of fights, but a glass canon at more then five minute long fights. As for his personality. Survival guilt, used to hate Aburame (Shino changed that) and wanted reveange (Sasuke related, swore to help each other at their day of need), was easy going and despite his wrath he still enjoyed giving people tips about training and gifting them with special tools (Love language, sharing battle knowladge, his inventions or steak) Then comes mine, which was a really tough big guy with doton as his main release, katon only when surronded. He fight like a beast, a bear more likely. Close combat and using ninjutsu only to complement his close combat skills, he is the tank and muscles of the group. His backstory is that he was a simple boy living at the farms around Konoha, grew up working hard in the farm, hunting and working in construction. Once he was beaten by thugs and robbed, he went after them to steal back his money, he wanted to use to buy materials and enter the academy, was too expensive for his family, he wanted to be a ninja because it pays well and his family was already refugee from the 3rd Great Ninja War, which means they weren't living well in outside the walls. The bandits who captured him would try to scare him by leaving him to the "bear" which was a joke because people were saying they saw a huge bear there despite the Shinobi never finding it. They quickly learned that the rumors were true, they got mauled and the leader who was pretty tough lost his arm, Kaoru (the boy) managed to escape the ropes he was tied to and tried to flee but didn't want to leave the thug to die, so they engaged the bear and he got his ass beat, but after showcasing his absurd strenght and speed (he did trained a lot and was strong due to his work carrying rocks and logs, hunting deer without arrows), he beat the bear by crushing it rib cage with the thug chief's Oni Club which he kept as a gift after, when the chief let himself be taken by autorithies. A chuunin who saw the bear being slayed when she arrived decided to take Kaoru to live with her and help him to become a genin. He was meant to be a proud and stubborn guy, too head strong and idealistic, oblivious to how absurd stuff he does or say, being simple minded and doing whatever he promises to, like looking at Madara and saying "He is invulnerable to ninjutsu? Then I just need to punch him as hard as I can!" then smug and proceed to do just that. His whole gimmic was the bear thing, using the fur from the bear he killed and using doton to create an armor that later on evolve to be a compressed stone bear like shaped armor which were heavy as hell and he does adapt others jutsus to a doton or katon version, having Juugo engine impulse like stuff on his armor, using katon to fly or move around fast, or charge a explosive punch by using fire comming off his elbow armor and punch. The sensei were a Sarutobi build like Ryu (now in STF 6 they are looking alike with that beard), and had a while thing with monkeys, we made up a Monke sage mode for the sake of it.
Some things about these teams : - In the new Team 7, Naruto can use his wind style to boost Tenten's weapons speed, and while it would not be that useful when he is in KCM, it could be useful when they are Gennins. - The new team 10 is perfect for Guy because Shino could give Lee bugs for him to carry to the ennemies and by so weaken them ( it would help Lee get less injured ). - For the new team 9, it means that Sakura could have gone to retrieve Sasuke ( Kiba would want her help and now she has justus so Shikamaru can't say anything about her being too weak ) and ( unless plot armor ) would have got his emo @ss back to Konoha. - Team 3 / Team Kakashi : Kakashi would make his team stronger because if they had fire or lightning to their hits, they would deal ENORMOUS DAMAGES. Just imagine Choji using a form of lightning release as an armor, like the raikage ( but weaker ) and use his ball technique ( i forgot the name 😅 ).
on top of that Kakashi also has water and earth so that 4 of 5 elements. If Henata got water element and neji lighting they alone would be powerful enough to defeat most if not all the other teams (team 7 excluded) along with a rolling ball of lightning and or fire that would make for a team built for battlefield control.
I was always wondering, what if a Hyuga had wind release? Ok so their normal palm technique is essentially firing needles of chakra into key points, therefore disrupting chakra flow; Well, wind is great at piercing or cutting, one could argue they could easily add it to their techniques without changing the whole principle. So if enemies can recover their chakra points, or shield those points? Meet Hyuga style: Palm Shotgun. You could shut down their chakra points, or just blow a big ol' hole in their chest.
@@roberthake5349 Litterally any elemental release used by a Hyuga is broken : - wind , like you said, pairs very well with the gentle fist - earth : you are punched by a boulder that will disrupt you chakra network - lightning : gentle fist, 64 chidoris ( or just use it the way Tsunade used it : so they can't use ninjutsu and have problem to walk ) - water : just boosting the strenght of their gentle fist - fire : fire tornado if used with the technique where they spin around to defend themselves.
Another think with TenTen is, she has shown she can use legendary ninja tools on the first try, only held back by her chakra reserves. Something Naruto could easiky assist with.
I wish people paid more attention to TenTen feats in fillers and movies. She was shown going toe to toe with Hidan in melee combat, finishing off a giant beast with explosions on par with Konans, sealing elements in her scrolls like fire dragons and almost an entire ocean. As well as utility like saving herself and lee by creating an armodilo like steel shield and transporting and entire ship in a scrool. She can accomplish a lot if given the proper attention, probably having her best showcase in will of fire
I agree, it's too bad that so many character feats are shown in fillers as well. Honestly the ideas for the teams in this video lowkey work better than what we officially got.
Naruto and TenTen: Throw shit at the bad guys. Eventually we'll do some significant damage! Shikamaru: Guys... aim for the weak points. Naruto and TenTen: Why didn't we think of that sooner? Thanks Shikamaru! Shikamaru: I'm surrounded by idiots...
I think my only small issue at all is mostly that Neji, Lee, and TenTen are all a year elder than the others. It is established that they grade above. I do understand that it's more so evaluating their respective skills and creating teams that would allow them to be used to their full potential though so just a tiny nitpick. XD
I actually adore that new team 7 idea, thats brillant. You would see them coming and know you're not leaving unless your surrender or your dead. Shikamarus shadows would be an excellent way to trap opponents and make sure they cant escape or get out of range. I feel like they would also work personality wise with everyone and be able to form a strong bond that would make them nearly untouchable. A+ New team 10 I love as well, Lee would def need distance based teammates and the choices are great. I do see some personality conflicts with everyone so itd be interesting to see. Damn Id love a fanfic about how the story would change with these new teams.
@@Skuraablossom i think he'd admire his talent but he wouldn't respect the douche bag that was Sasuke. Shikamaru doesn't deal with bullshit and it would be pleinty of conflict definitely when you add neji. Neji and Sasuke probably would work well together though.
Did you skip out on the Sasuke Retrieval arc my guy? Shikamaru admitted to looking up to Sasuke and couldn't understand why someone like Sasuke would leave the village if he was at the top of their class. This view remains the same whether you read the manga or watch the anime. Neji, Sasuke, and Shikamaru.. I'd pay to see that team.@@cngotham4111
I definitely think it’s worth considering how the teams would work together personality-wise. Hinata and Neji together in Part 1 just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, I don’t see Sasuke and Kiba getting along at all, and reserved Shino would only get more overshadowed by the forceful personalities of Ino, Lee, and Guy.
i agree with most of them but I actually think shino wouldn't get overshadowed by ino, lee and guy. lee and guy are super talkative and overly animated and ino is hot tempered but it would be just amazing to see them all shut up when shino walks up and tells them he has a plan. the fact that shino is the polar opposite of them all personality wise but they are still all people who would respect him and his talents would make him a bigger known ninja.
@@captaincaterpie Shino basically gets a popularity buff from all the extraverts around him, lol. Super talented Guy, Super talented Guy's star pupil who became well known and respected (sorta) from his Chuunin exam, and arguably (in Leaf Village terms), one of the most beautiful women in the village. Someone sees Shino with them and asks "Who's the dark, creepy emo guy that's shadowing you?", and without dropping a beat these well known stars would all be saying "He's legit, our technical genius, an undefeated and key member of our squad. We wouldn't go anywhere without him". Instant popularity for a very under-rated person.
Actually I think team Kurenai could be well design in some kind of assasination/recognition missions where they need to be quiet and unspotted. Kiba with his nose could sense enemy from really far. He can point Hinata in some direction. Then she can precisly know enemy location and area around him. Kurenai can use genjutsu to distract enemy while Shino can prepare his bugs to kill enemy. And all of this can be done really silent without allarming anybody.
Maybe I am biased, cause this is exactly how I would stack it, right down to knowing who is next in the line up. But I call it 3 perfect teams for this reason. Don't forget long range, and sensory skills are covered by Kakashi. Plus between Sharingan Kakashi and Hinata and Neji already being body minded, healing would also be possible. They aren't the strongest team but they sure are rounded out well.
I think that most characters would almost necessarily end up completely different than original Naruto due to these new teams, so taking into account what they became rather than simply potential and their early kit seems flawed. I do, however, love how the teams turned out. Naruto and Tenten would be an actually pretty good combo early on (she provides the weapons, he provides the soldiers) and I think they'd get along surprisingly well. I think an interesting follow-up would be to simply take each of the 12 individually and assign them the best teacher for them out of the 4 available, because I'm curious how you'd think to maximize each Genin's potential through their teacher.
And Shikamaru synergizes perfect with those 2. Between TenTens kuni spam and Naruto's million shadow clones, the amount of shadows and chaos on the battle field would let Shikamaru control the entire thing. All the shadows would massively extend his range (even if using the clones' shadows froze them), and the amount of chaos / stuff to track would cause so much information overload that it would be hard to even notice Shikamaru's paralysis shadows, let alone find the time to pay attention to it. And once an enemy is caught they are dead, either from no long being able to dodge tenten's weapon storm, or Naruto's Rasengan. As long as you don't mind a mission being "loud" they would be terrifying to face in combat. (And that's just their genine abilities)
@@jasonreed7522 Yep. To be fair though, any already decently powerful team immediately gets amazing with the addition of a genius like Shika, but his power would truly be the "ace up the sleeve" of this explosive Team 7.
@@Akranejames shika is basically the only side character to get proper development for the full length of the series (assuming actual team 7 are the only main characters) so its not surprising he powers up any team and is a fan favorite. (Atleast he's my favorite character in the show)
@@jasonreed7522just the amount of debris created by Naruto and Tenten while fighting would be so many shadows that Shika could go hog wild with his jutsu
What I think Kishimoto was originally going for with team 7 before Konoha crush arc was that he may have wanted team 7 to specialize into the three main shinobi arts. Naruto was likely supposed to be a taijutsu master- using shadow clones to overwhelm opponents. Sasuke was supposed to be a ninjutsu master much like Kakashi- sensei who copied a thousand jutsu and created the chidori and passing it down to his “prized student”. Sakura-Supposed to be a genjutsu master- we learn early on about her amazing chakra control and her intellect, Sasuke mentions how Sakura had to have been the first to notice the genjutsu going into the chunin exams building. Then she dispels a genjutsu that was able to cover the whole chunin exams arena and put most of the genin except for Shikamaru and a few others to sleep. In this point of the story she is somewhat useless but it’s like her limited amount of skills gets nerfed going into the mission to capture sasuke. After that she just becomes a medic nin that does very little to contribute and we only think she is strong because we have to reminded by the anime that Sakura is strong. Personally I don’t think she truly blossoms until a brief moment against Sasori and then she stays dormant until the war. When Naruto was learning to create the Rasenshuriken she should have been with Kurenai getting tips on genjutsu. Considering how underwhelming Kisame’s death was (imo) she could have been the one to take him out on the mission to capture itachi. She should have been a character that either surpasses or gets on the level of Itach in terms of genjutsu. Rant over no matter what Sakura will always be a sore subject when it comes to the what could have been’s
Naruto's team is good, and so is the Ino-Shino-Rock Lee trio. I would change around the last 2 teams though. One team would be Kakashi-Sasuke-Kiba-Choji and the other would be Kurenai-Sakura-Hinata-Neji. Hear me out. Kakashi teaches Sasuke how to use the Sharingan, and lightning release. Kakashi teaches Kiba his Dog-Ninjutsu and that will make him less weak, as well as some elemental release jutsu. Choji basically what you said. this team will still be a more close-range team and not very well rounded, but come on, Sasuke, and Kakashi can close long and mid-range decently well. Kurenai teaches Sakura genjutsu. She also teaches genjutsu to the two Byakugan users, and the Byakugan can enhance genjutsu. Hinata and Neji learn to live with each other, and Sakura's social skills (who drop to 0 when it comes to Naruto) can help them out. But then, I have entirely other ideas for Naruto. if i could, i'd rewrite the whole thing where i'd nerf Sasuke and Naruto and buff everyone else. No fight would be more massive than Orochimaru vs Sarutobi or Orochimaru vs the other two Sannin in Part 1.
I think the biggest hole in the team adjustments is Guy's team. Primarily because it is established that they graduated before the rest of the Konoha 12 and are introduced in the Chunnin exams after they spend a year studying with Guy. So Lee, Tenten and Neji would technically be unavailable for sorting if we want to be buzzkills about this.
If we're gonna be buzzkills, then Naruto should pair up with Ino instead. The Yamanaka Clan is super underrated. Ino could really develop her clan's Mind Control jutsus by being on the main character's team. Like that time when Inoichi put several people under his control and made them fight each other without leaving his own body. Imagine Ino with jutsus of that level or higher. Plus, during the Chunin Exams, Ino would be able to take over Naruto's body to give him the answers.
They are also probably the worst team lineup in terms of versatility. So while it is true I could easily imagine a scenario where during that one year something really messed up happened and they decided to break up this team.
@@MrMegaSuperDuperMeI don't think ino going into naruto head is a good idea but it would have been interesting with her discovering the kyuubi in naruto
Seeing TenTen getting special training from the Samurai would have been an amazing. Just a side idea I had that would help boost her kenjutsu skill and control. Also side thought with Naruto being able to draw in nature Chakra could he transfer that to her too? Basically fueling her with infinite Chakra to keep her spamming attacks and disorienting them while Shikamaru holds them and Naruto closes in behind.
Great concept, super fun for a video, and honestly I think your first two teams were almost perfect. Plus you acknowledged InoShikaCho is the one ideal team and for obvious reasons, but you didn't acknowledge the wonderful sensory specialist team that Team Kurenai was, and this is noteworthy even if it did mean they were less well rounded. In fact, teams as specialists is a concept I feel should have been explored more, it's great to be well rounded, but each team also belongs to a village, so having them fufill roles best when working together is a good idea. (This is another excellent feature of InoShikaCho, the Yamanaka are responsible for communicating the Nara's plans.) It is in this area I honestly wish we had Sai, he's got one of the most unique kits. It's really hard to place Sasuke when he 1. Is good at everything, and 2. Is hardly a member of village for most of the show, even though Sai is less popular with the kids these days, and tbh I was most curious where Sasuke would end up. Sadly I'm pretty disappointed with him being toxic with Sakura and carrying Kiba while giving him an inferiority complex all under the tutelage of the woman that can never teach him anything that will help him beat his brother, his one goal in life. But yeah, really fun idea here, you clearly did think about things a lot, and even if you didn't go over every reason, there are actually plenty more reasons your first two teams are great that you didn't cover too. Only the first team is truly perfect though imo as Guy is a pretty worthless teacher for two of his students, whereas Asuma actually can help all 3 of them in unique ways. Good thumbnail choice.
Very good video. Really enjoyed the thought you put into weighing the strengths, weaknesses and dynamics of the teams. Only change I’d make is I’d switch Sasuke and Neji. Having Neji and Hinata on the same team would be disastrous to say the least. Taking their history into account, Neji hated her in the beginning of the series. The team would’ve suffered on that alone. Kakashi couldn’t keep his team together when Naruto and Sasuke were beefing, he can’t handle Neji tryna kill Hinata at the Chun in exams. It’s true Kurenai could teach Sasuke genjutsu but as you said he is a much more direct fighter and likely wouldn’t take to it much. Neji could fill the role of close range specialist on that team just fine and still have a sense i who is great at chakra control. And despite his shortcomings Kakashi is still the best sensei for Sasuke. Same chakra nature which is why he taught him chidori in the first place, similar traumatic background that Kakashi could help him with, and with Naruto being on a different team Sasuke wouldn’t feel frustrated and can focus more.
honestly I feel like Kakashi failed Sasuke _because_ he related to him too much. He gave him way too much leeway when anyone could see that Sasuke was a terrorist in the making.
I wouldn't say leeway he told him to forget his goal, which Kakashi should have offered to train Sasuke, either if Sasuke wanted revenge or for protection. No regular character knew that Itachi was a spy even if Sasuke wanted to give up on revenge, he would logically think his psycho killer brother (who was stronger than kakashi) was coming back to kill him.
If you want balanced squads, you probably need to assign them out for missions in different configurations than they are trained. I.e. Kurenai train 3 genjutsu users, but then when they go out on missions, they split-up and travel with different squads. With that said, training-wise, I'd have Guy train some taijutsu specialists like Neji, Rock Lee, and Choji. I'd have Kurenai train 3 genjutsu specialists which would be Ino, Sakura, and I guess I'll draft Shino? Kakashi and Asuma have similar fighting styles, but I guess I'd have Asuma train the more frontline nin-taijutsu fighters like Kiba, Naruto, and Hinata. Kakashi would be a more ninjutsu specialist and would train Shikamaru, Sasuke, and Tenten. This means that the students would be learning slightly different jutsu sets than they did in the story. Then, for balance, kind of obvious at this point. Each squad would receive one tracker (Neji / Hinata / Kiba / Shino), at least one pure frontline fighter, one back rank fighter, and 1 mid-range fighters. Each squad would have one of the 4 strong ninjas (Neji, Sasuke, Naruto, Rock Lee). E.g. Neji, Tenten, Sakura Hinata, Sasuke, Shikamaru Choji, Naruto, Ino Rock Lee, Kiba, Shino
Yea. Its not like Teams always went out on the same mission everytime. They should definitely prioritize the Team around the sensei's training them over all-roundedness. It would be MUCH MUCH better if they did the "perfect teamwork" teams later on in important battles than right from the start, too!
Tenten throwing an assortment of weapons for them to turn out to be Naruto clones seems like an easy combo that opens up an opportunity for shikamaru to trap the enemy in shadow possession jutsu
It almost made me emotional for the validation that you gave Kurenai, I always yearned for more from her in the series and she deserved it. They really never gave her nearly enough, and I always wanted to see how they would’ve maximized her if they actually cared about her being more relevant to the story. So much wasted potential 😭
Asuma, Naruto, Tenten and Shikamaru (your team is perfect) Guy, Lee, Hinata and Choji (all taijutsu beasts, plus Hinata and Choji need constant motivation) Kurenai, Sakura, Ino and Shino (Genjutsu and mind jutsus for Ino and Sakura, plus they are rivals and motivate each other. Shino for tracking and keep them safe in battle) Kakashi, Sasuke, Kiba and Neji (Kakashi prefers male puppils, plus these three have big egos and would motivate each other to be their best selves, with Kakashi mediating conflict)
The biggest issue with your new Team Kakashi isn't the abilities that they all would have in the future, but rather the personalities and already existing relationships of some of the members at the point that point of the team's formation, which I would assume to be at the beginning of the series.
Sounds like Hinata got a bit gypped on both teams. On her canon team she didn’t really have much that she could learn, but she did at least have people who were good moral support for her. In this new team however, Hinata might be able to learn elemental jutsu, but she loses out on that emotional support. Not only that but she’s stuck on a team with one of her worst tormenters, a well meaning but passive big boned boy, and a teacher that kind of sucks at emotionally connecting with people.
Yeah I would put Hinata with Asuma and Shikamaru, Shikamaru would encourage her and come up with better ways for her to train Asuma is a great all rounder so he could teach her ninjutsu as well as taijutsu and get her out of her shell. Especially if partnered with Naruto she would push herself to try and show how much he inspired her. Also KCM Hinata with twin lion fist would be insanely OP
Just what I was thinking. Naruto's good influence in Hinata's life would be meaningless if she has to constantly be stuck with Neji's bad influence. In my opinion, Hinata would be best on Guy's team. Lee also used to be down on himself until he received emotional support from Guy. Guy could do the same for Hinata AND help her train her taijutsu.
Putting Neji and Hinata on the same team would only work if they sped up the beginning of Neji's character development significantly. Like they would have to get to the point where he is willing to put up with her in a team setting before the Chuunin exam. They could still have a one-on-one match there that turns ugly so Naruto needs to slap some additional sense in the guy. On the flipside after that they would spend much more time together, so their relationship could slowly develop into a friendship then into an actual sibling bond. And there could be room for Hinata to grow into a leadership role and be actually motivated to change the Hyuga clan customs since they got so close with Neji. So yeah, the beginning would be a disaster, but it could work in the long run.
This was mad impressive ngl. Those teams are great. And the last one is still pretty good and could have strong combos lol. I feel like Chino and Shikamaru could be insanely stacked. They're both super smart and the combos could be devastatingly effective. I know it's kinda putting all your eggs in one basket with IQ but still. and Neji could be a good addition for strong close quarters and more sensory to buff Chino. Led by Asuma.
when I was a kid watching the OG naruto on cartoonnetwork, I thought they would give tenten progressively more scrolls full of special weapons she'll collect along the way. And when she comes in for a mission, she'll pull out one of the many weapons she got, and uses the best special weapon for the job. That never happened.. lol Sadly.
I wanted her to fight vs pain... she could do what konan did to tobi. Just spam explosive tags and other weapons at pain continually so he hits his limit for his infinite push. Can help counter the weapons guy with her own weapons as well. Wish theyd work together more like that and they could have actually taken out pain. Then maybe konan comes in and holds em all off (she does nothing really in the series so lets give her something) while the last path gets the gate of hell to revive them all again and then naruto can save the day.
I always thought Naruto trained by Asuma would have made him so much stronger, like having someone who could make 1000s of themselves and have them use chakra blades while fighting would be amazing
Tenten would have been so cool if she had a katana and a bow to cover her close and long range attacks respectively and all the thrown weapons for mid range
@@Nazoto Imagine this new Team 7 is still the one to go on the Bridge Mission. Tenten gets to pair up against Haku for who can throw the most sharp things (and loses, probably), and then when Zabuza is killed she gets her hands on the Executioner Blade. A bit early to give her something like that, but maybe it's one of those "use at a cost until you learn it better" weapons she can call upon at critical moments.
@@PumaPants248And what? Make it extra sharp? Woooh, that’s so useful. Lightning could boost the speed of the arrows. Fire could ignite things that they hit. Earth could make them weighted. But Wind, though. Let’s make the arrows that are already going to pierce the foe be able to pierce them more.
Very well put together bro. Makes perfect sense. I think writers write these types of blatant injustices so that people can talk about these topics in the future.
In terms of creating perfectly balanced teams based solely on the combat ability of each person, including their potential, I think this is an awesome list. However. To take this a step further with an additional layer of complexity, I think it would be important to remember that when these teams were organized by the village elders (allegedly Sarutobi Hiruzen, but maybe a group including others), they were working with the current state of each student at the time of their academy graduation. They would have a way of knowing that certain students with no apparent talent would blossom into specialists. The selections would also have had several goals, not just one. These goals would be, matching each student with the best possible teachers, matching students with the best possible partners, and ensuring that political demands were met within the village. I believe the last of these is extremely important, because many of the techniques within the village are seen as assets to be controlled and preserved, and as such there would be specific interests which may be more important to the village than optimizing each team. Let's start. 0. Team Guy. This teams members are completely irrelevant in this discussion because they were formed an entire year before teams 7, 8, and 10 graduated. They could not have been remixed or redistributed. I will still provide logic for their placement. Lee was put with guy because of his lack of talent. Guy is essentially the only teacher with a chance of helping him achieve success due to their shared background. I'm assuming Neji was placed here because Guy is a hand to hand combat expert and would be one of the best teachers for helping him hone his taijutsu. Idfk where tenten came from. 1. Team 7. At the time of the team being formed, the village knew a few things about Naruto. He housed the nine-tails, he previously had not demonstrated any talent in a ninja skill but had recently learned the shadow-clone technique, and he was rebellious but emotionally manipulatable. We also learn later that the primary means of controlling a rampaging tailed beast is by using the Sharingan. By this logic, because he is the only ninja left in the village with a Sharingan (aside from Danzo, but he obviously wouldn't be filling this role), Kakashi was the only possible teacher who could be trusted to train Naruto, and though he had never attempted to suppress a tailed beast, he was the only person capable of stopping Naruto if something unexpected happened while out on missions. If Naruto rebels, Kakashi is there. If Nine-tails takes over, Kakashi is there. Following this, we have Sasuke, who's situation echo's Naruto's in many ways. He posses the last iteration of one of the villages most important genetic weapons, the Sharingan, but is also seen as a potential threat due to external circumstances. He is extremely talented, however due to the village politics, all of which the 3rd Hokage would be aware of, there is a high likelihood of him rebelling later on. The village would need to watch him closely in case he dessented, but also foster his skill as a potential asset. Kakashi, once again, the only open holder of a Sharingan, and himself a child prodigy, is the only logical option to mentor Sasuke. You could compound this decision by arguing that Sasuke having a Sharingan potentially provides an additional countermeasure against Naruto's nine-tails. Team 7 was literally designed to foster Naruto and Sasuke while also keeping the two in check by holding multiple guns to each of their heads until their skills could be stolen or their allegiance proved. Sakura here makes no sense from an ability standpoint on her own, but after I explain the other teams, she becomes the only viable option left for team 7. She basically got autofilled here because, of the 4 remaining candidates (Hinata, Kiba, Sakura, Shino), she likely had the highest affinity for healing/genjutsu, which would be necessary to sustain Kakashi and Sasuke in an extended battle against a rampaging nine-tails. Ultimately, pairing her with Kuranai would have been way better for her personal development. Sucks to suck. 2. Team 10. These guys could essentially be the reason Sakura, Hinata, Shino, and Kiba get screwed over in placements. Their abilities work together fairly well, but even if they wanted to redistribute this team, they couldn't. Sarutobi Hiruzen was the acting 3rd Hokage and this alliance of 4 families is a means of preserving political power for all families involved, but especially the Sarutobi as the leaders. There is no way he, or the other 3 families involved would have allowed the village to break up their 15 generations long alliance. Without this alliance, they could easily become irrelevant in the face of competition with families like the Hyuga and Uchiha. 3. Team 8. This team exists via process of elimination. Firstly, there is no way the Hyuga clan would consent to having their heir placed in constant danger by putting her on a team with Naruto or Sasuke. The nine-tails could escape, Sasuke could rebel, either of these events could result in her death. It would be much safer to have her on a different team. Unfortunately, there are only 2 candidates left because of the team 10 politics. While Kiba or Shino could definitely have worked well on team 7 in Sakura's place, I don't think either of their skills would have been as beneficial. Shino's recon is made redundant by the two Sharingan's already present, and even at his best, Kiba's hand to hand combat would pale next to 2 genius Sharingan users and a Jinchuriki. So yeah, much like in real life, the effectiveness of the teams based on their actual abilities and raw talent weren't perfect, but that's because there were far more variables at play than just "Who makes the strongest team". And again, these teams are based on the students abilities upon graduation and the talent of their parents, not a magical future glimpse at their abilities 20 years from now.
Having both Hinata and Neji in one team kind of make sens. Like, I know they don't get along but from their clan perspective and they view on hierarchy Neji would be there to protect the hier of the clan. It would make him even more hostile towards Hinata, that's for sure.
Yeah, and wouldn’t that make Rock lee almost replace Naruto in Hinata eyes considering his whole “Hard work to overcome being a failure.” (To be honest part 1 their kinda clones of eachother). That way Neji wouldn’t have to die in the most disrespectful way just for a bad ship to be forced upon Naruto outt've guilt.
I would love to see a more lore-accurate version of this, by considering that Team Guy was actually one year senior and ended up with others due to chunin exam delay. So, the actual choice is only among teams Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai. Teams keeping the above in mind: Team Kurenai - Sasuke, Sakura, Kiba - Same as in video Team Kakashi - Ino, Shino, Choji - Choji replaces Guy as the frontline in the video. They don't need a lot of emotional guidance which is good for Kakashi, and could have undertaken more skill-based or combination-based training which Kakashi excels in. Team Asuma - Naruto, Shikamaru, Hinata - Naruto is brazen and acts as frontline, Shikamaru is calm and acts as backline, Hinata can help as frontline with gentle fist or backline as a recon with Byakugan. Her abilities will help avoid team damage especially when they don't have medical ninjutsu (ignoring Naruto, who gains this almost at the end of Shippuden). Asuma can teach Naruto air style, be a father figure to Shikamaru, and help Hinata with her confidence just like with Choji.
Naruto and sasuke can’t be seperated!!! A huge reason because of the only sharingan user and the jinchruiki of the 9 tails! Sakura could be replaced but also ino-shika-cho is fixed just like kina-hinata-shino team because they are the sreaching/scout team…
Love the idea of these, especially cause it could force Naruto and Hinata's romance to actually have substance as well. Shika bowing out of the Ino-Shika-Cho could also make sense, he could be worried for Naruto and push for a change up with the standard lineup
I know this vid is about power scaling & team balancing. But the only thing I could think about is how these characters would bond & interact. Thinking about potential funny scenarios (I know Ino would hate having bugs carry her 😂). Thinking about the potential bonding moments. Thinking about how this would effect the narrative as a whole. Just having fun imagining how their personalities would bounce off each other.
We have Kurenai the greatest genjustsu user in konoha! We have Shino who’s never lost a battle yet! Hinata who has the byakugan and the Hyuga princess! And then there’s Kiba….
I did a similar exercise to this some years ago but only for Naruto And more specifically for narrative purposes rather than power balance And what I did was do what the anime crew did during the filler arcs at the end of Naruto, put him, Kiba and Hinata on a single team You get much more healthy rivalry between Kiba and Naruto pushing one another to go farther, Kiba and Hinata were shown to have a really good friendship (and IIRC he was the first of the kids to realize Hinata's feelings for Naruto) and having her and Naruto on a single team and therefore interacting more would help to actually establish their romance instead of depending on filler and a movie to try to make it make sense
Naruto and tenten would totally be like siblings and you can’t convince me otherwise, it would be like they are the twins and shikamaru is the older brother who’s always forced into babysitting
Great work, the teams turned out better than I thought that they would haha... Tenten and Shikamaru are a great combo! The Huga-Duo would be dope also... I them fighting in unison, Hinata creating room with a Rotation just for Neji to shoot an Air Palm out of it at the moment it's over... FIRE
Tenten and Screentime should be the strongest team combo.
No lies
Too OP if ten ten was always around what would anyone else do?

I appreciate the respect you give to Shino. He is my favorite of the 12 and the disrespect he gets is uncalled for. Also the idea of Shino and Ino being on the same team as exuberate fashion disasters Gain and Lee is hilarious. I imagine Ino's initial disgust at the idea of Shino's bugs touching her in any way, then the grudging respect because Shino actually has the bugs help in the flower shop or something. Ino trying to give her team a make over, but it fails. The dynamic has such good potential.
Ahh his eternal hatred | love - administration | frusting respect for Sasuke keeps my chakra reserves filled for every😂💙
Def my fav too..his background personality, always overlooked thing was something I related to along with him having one of my fav designs and being smart af
Homie def got played just because Kishimoto didn’t want to draw them hugs no more 😭😭
Bugs don’t help plants they destroy them 😂
Sakura - Choji - Lee:
Some other people have mentioned it but I think Sakura with Lee would be a great combo. Unlike Naruto who really just heals himself, Lee tends to burn fast and becomes unable to continue fighting. Put another space maker like Choji on the team and they can cover each other while Sakura gets them back into the fight. Plus as you mentioned, chakra control training for all three would be devastating.
Naruto - Tenten - Shikamaru:
Perfect.
Sasuke - Kiba - Hinata:
Level-headed, aggressive, and defensive respectively. Good balance of all techniques, visual and olfactory mastery, plus Hinata is the only girl who wouldn't annoy Sasuke because she hardly talks.
Neji - Ino - Shino:
Two teammates that can keep track of both Ino and opponents simultaneously. Both can also disable enemies and make them easy targets for soul transfer. Plus, Ino-Shino sounds funny together.
Ino-Shino-Ji
Holy! Your first and third team sound really good
I was so sure he was gonna put Neji with Ino when he was talking bc he'd be perfect for that role.
You forgot to put masters on the teams. But Sakura and Rock Lee would be op definitely after Sakura learned from Tsunade at the point she probably could heal Rock Lee after using 8 the gates which would be insane.
Kiba and Sasuke would be memes bro
Tenten can also help Shikamaru by creating more sections of shadows to stretch out Shikamaru's reach and allow him to target peoples blind spots more effectively. Also Tenten targets from the sky, Naruto from eye level Shikamaru from the ground this basically information overload to in any battle
Basically they can use Tenten to make a flying shadow when Shikamaru doesn't jave the time to. 😂
Yeah tenten can cover half the sky with shadows lol Shikamaru would be impossible to dodge
This is gold
WHY was I able to read that perfectly in their voices and picture it as if I was watching it lmfao. That is 100% how tht convo would go down 😂😂😂
That scene would happen at the Shipuden arc
When did Naruto and Tenten ever have “sibling chemistry”?
Kishimoto is really good at coming up with great concepts and immediately completely forgetting about them.
it is a stressful job when you have a successful manga and have the publishers breathing down your neck but still reminders exists for a reason.

They would have been the best tag team duo. You might get past one, but of they had Might Guy & Lee levels of team work, then it's a wrap
@anastasiya256 I feel like you have the opposite idea of what would make a good gen jutsu user 🤣
Yes to chakra control, but not being delicate.
Yes, basically the only Jutsu she was any good at was summoning. But summoning can be massive if you get an even half decent summon like Armored Frog.
Also summoning big stuff needs lots of chakra so she still needs a chakra source if she were to summon sometHing big

@LBK978 she actually expended on that by being able to seal almost an entire ocean and different fire jutsus so idk
@@LBK978HEY! Put some respect on Chef Mike's name!

This is a really intriguing concept. Personally I wouldn't use Naruto and Sasuke's abilities in the 4th ninja war as reference though. I think it would be more interesting if we try to match each member's usual fighting style and ability with one another. Here's how my list would go:
- Naruto, Hinata, Shikamaru, Asuma: Naruto even before the 4th ninja war is already a powerhouse that can fight pretty much anyone and anything by himself. Shikamaru is here mainly for his brain, and Hinata is here to provide the team with her Byakugan mainly to support and defend Shikamaru. For a planner, information is key, and Hinata's map hack with Byakugan gonna make Shikamaru even more big brain than he already is. Also Shadow Possession into Twin Lion Fist is absurdly powerful to quickly disable any opponent
- Sasuke, Tenten, Choji, Kakashi: Tenten is actually also known as master of Fuinjutsu.
Imagine Sakura the best medical ninja in the verse learn to open 8 gate and Taijutsu from Guy…
But for the sake of trying to make a balance team, a team with Neji Ino Kiba Kurenai is just too weak.
That they somehow forgot in the Naruto story that Sakura is a Genjutsu User so stupid 😅
@@umidh2345no imagine Guy, Lee and Sakura combo 🤯🤯🤯
Even without Naruto, considering how Shikamaru planned out his fight against Temari, just him and TenTen working together would be AMAZING.
Her fight style should be like killer b sword mode. She should be pressing you with weapons while throwing ones at you as well
The weird thing is, we see shinobi succeeding in just using weapons ALL THE TIME yet for some reason Tenten is weak because of it? That never really made sense to me.
Also, there's no real reason given why Tenten isn't able to weave Ninjutsu or Genjutsu into her fighting either. She just ... doesn't. Zabuza and Kisame were iconic because of their weapon usage. Killer Bee's coolest moment was when he was juggling swords mid-fight. All things they could have easily implemented with her, but just ... didn't.
YES YES YES YES YES
Also, it's not a good idea for Hinata's development to have her be on the same team as Neji.

Literally the shadow clone shuriken from the start of the bridge ark... but x1000 and all at once
tenten should also be less worried about friendly fire since most of the narutos would be fakes
A bunch of airborne weapons and shadow clones creates a lot of shadow for shadow possession. Shikamaru is one happy ninja on this team.
Hence the issues with weekly manga. You eventually catch up to what you had planned and then gotta wing it.
@@jaimeruiz7837 One Piece still does great tho, coz Oda had the whole world planned, emperors have been talked about since really early.
@@Zerashadowno he didn't lmao. The empire's weren't established until later on and the only one we see early is Shanks

In Boruto we get a weapon specialist kage of the mist so Tenten definitely had room to shine.

Hm, yeah, i really wonder how the Series would’ve been with these Team-ups instead,
I wonder if there is a FanFic for this?
@@johanstenfelt1206 I imagine there’s some with different teams, but not these exact combinations. Or at least that I found through a preliminary review.
@@rxanime535 hm, I see.
personally I would have swapped Tenten and Hinata though.
@@ryuukeisscifiproductions1818 huh, funny you would say that, there’s a Comment in this Comment Section that pretty much did a similar Change amongst others.
Mostly because you would have an idea of what a lot of them would end up dealing but there's no way they could have guessed that some of them would be basically deities and some of them would be shopkeeps...

So it still would've been difficult figuring that out, ya know...
Thanks for saying this @jestylor6 I thought the same thing. He basically did with team 7 what was originally done with team 7 in the fact that They put the strongest of the rookies (Saauke)with the weakest of the rookies (Naruto.) Plus I maintain that Naruto would not have learned Rasenshuriken without Kakashi. Yes Asume could help him with elemental ninjustsu but no one was able to do it with the Rasengan. It took Kakashi recognizing that Naruto's high Chakra reserves combined with his knowledge of shadow clones might be the only way to master the full potential of the Rasengan.
@@justinbailey6985 I feel like with Kakashi figuring it out I feel most of the teachers would've figured that out if they were dedicating themselves for that but otherwise I appreciate it. On the other hand the teams could've probably still been better like "Maybe let's not put a Jinchuriki with an Uchiha" unless they had a specific reason for it. I mean I did enjoy the video but would Akari be interested in that...
@@Jestylor6wait, why not put a jinchuuiki with an uchiha?.. if Sasuke turned out to be a good boy instead of the emo he was, he could have helped Naruto control his bijuu with his sharingan!
And we’d probably get to see Hinata get the guts to ask out naruto before the pain arc. We’d get to see there romance blossom.
@@X23NatalieHaving two scouts of their calibre on the same team is a huge waste.

Yea, they always teamed up with different folks in Naruto too.
Just listen!
Naruto - Tenten - Hinata under Asuma: Team Trap
Shino - Shikamaru- Neji under Kakashi: Team Unbothered
Rock Lee - Choji - Kiba under Guy: Team Taijutsu
Ino - Sasuke - Sakura under Kurenai: Team Genjutsu
I thought of rounding characters and their teachers before the whole team, because I considered their versions fresh out of the Academy.
Tenten could toss out weapons to an army of Narutos as he's just decimating enemies with sheer numbers. 😂
And TenTen could also mooch off of Naruto's screen time, LOL
I was happy when he mentioned Shikamaru being the same team with Naruto, Shikamaru and Choji is the first and second people who befriended Naruto in the academy. Their bond has lasted for a very long time, hence why Shikamaru also become the vice hokage alongside him.
We already saw what shikamaru can do with tenten and naruto when he fought against temari.
Give a guy some weapons and narutos creative battle tactics and he will dominate.
Dude literally use kunai and a jacket with a whole naruto dig and almost won the match. 😂😂
Thats he mean not giving a damn
Naruto and Tenten: "we could beat him by rampaging"
Shikamaru: "what if we have Naruto make all his shadow-clones with their raseneguns and then smash them together to make one huge one as Tenten throws a bunch of weapons into it that'll be deflected at enemies by the force of the chakra as it's about to destroy them? "
Naruto: "SICK!! "
Tenten: "cool!!"
You have made infinitely better teams than what we got. Everyone just makes sense. Tenten getting some shine is always appreciated, too.
Kakashi, the only person with a sharingan besides Sasuke, needs to be his sensei. It’s just as important as Lee having Guy as his sensei.

Agreed. Sasuke's genjutsu is perfectly fine from the moments we've seen him use it pre-Boruto. He simply doesn't use it much. Kakashi should remain his sensei as Kurenai doesn't have much to offer him.

If we start Konoha 12 back to when they were kids, I would set them up similar to your picks:
Team Asuma
Naruto, Shika, TenTen
(exact same reasons you laid out)
Team Gai
Lee and the SHINO-INO combo
(Agreed; these two would be prep to paralyze their enemy and then Gai/Lee breaks them)
Now here's where I switch it up..
Team Kurenai
Sakura, Neji, Choji
(This would be my team because Kurenai would actually help all three blossom in their own way. Choji would wreak havoc tbf.)
Team Kakashi
Sasuke, Hinata, Kiba
(Ok this one makes sense to me.
Interactions wise, Naruto and Tenten would be a chaotic bunch of best friends
Tenten learns about Hinata's crush: Tenten: "Naruto. ... " *poke* "Naruto. .. "
Naruto: "I know she does this all the time. It's really weird"
Shikamaru: "Naruto you are an idiot"
Tenten: "your such an idiot that your gonna meet my little freind." *pulls out some insane weapon*
I like where your head's at. Good thinking.
Maybe she could offer Sasuke some affection and kindness that another Sensei could not
That would be so proper and correct, but soo unsatisfying regarding actual history of Naruto xD

Thanks for making this, it was fun to think about
I like the idea of Hinata on Guy’s team! But people are totally forgetting that Guy’s team is a year older…
I think Sakura would've been better suited in a team with guy and Lee. Not only can she heal them when they use the gates, and can learn 8 gates and stack 100 heals. She'd be the strongest hand to hand user. Chogi learning any gates to stack on his size would be insane.
imagine opening 8 gates and 100 seals at the same time, ur healing as fast a your body is being burnt away while giving you the absolute most amount of power amp a taijutsu user could have
the only downside is that you will still reduce your age at a rapid rate since your cells are constantly burning itself every second, but on the bright side you'll be able to pull of moves like Sekizo and Night guy over and over and over again instead of it being a finishing move only
@@therranolleo468 Eight gates would still kill her, she could last longer but once the chakra runs out it's over.
Um would that make kurenai useless. I would rather have sakura and kurenai have bonding to say the least "she might be have the same level or half as an Uchiha genjutsu" to sakura
Kurenai IS useless.
She tried to put *Genjutsu Jesus* under a fucking *Genjutsu*
Yea I was thinking he was going to make the list based off when they were still genin like around chunin exams strength

Naruto, Shikamaru, and Tenten might be the strongest team in chuunin exam
During chuunin exam Naruto basically can only use shadow clone and he don't use it effectively. He use his clone to overwhelm the enemy with number
But with Shikamaru and Tenten, Naruto clone basically become a well equiped army that can be fitted for many roles.

I'm imagining something like megumis first domain expansion from jjk but with bugs
A mass of insects getting in an opponents way, blocking their vision, distracting them, and even creating insect clones, while shino is up close throwing hands and taking advantage of every distraction
Survival guilt, used to hate Aburame (Shino changed that) and wanted reveange (Sasuke related, swore to help each other at their day of need), was easy going and despite his wrath he still enjoyed giving people tips about training and gifting them with special tools (Love language, sharing battle knowladge, his inventions or steak)
Then comes mine, which was a really tough big guy with doton as his main release, katon only when surronded.
Some things about these teams :
- In the new Team 7, Naruto can use his wind style to boost Tenten's weapons speed, and while it would not be that useful when he is in KCM, it could be useful when they are Gennins.
Choji's literal rolling thunder I love it
on top of that Kakashi also has water and earth so that 4 of 5 elements.
@@roberthake5349 Litterally any elemental release used by a Hyuga is broken :
- wind , like you said, pairs very well with the gentle fist
- earth : you are punched by a boulder that will disrupt you chakra network
- lightning : gentle fist, 64 chidoris ( or just use it the way Tsunade used it : so they can't use ninjutsu and have problem to walk )
- water : just boosting the strenght of their gentle fist
- fire : fire tornado if used with the technique where they spin around to defend themselves.
@@jeromedurand1067 I died at "Gentle Fist: 64 Chidoris 🤣
Shikamaru being on Naruto and TenTen's team makes total sense.
TenTen the Armory, Naruto the Army, & Shikamaru the Trap
XD
absolutely love your reimagined team 7. well made and thoughtful video!
New team 10 I love as well, Lee would def need distance based teammates and the choices are great. I do see some personality conflicts with everyone so itd be interesting to see.
Damn Id love a fanfic about how the story would change with these new teams.
A team of Sasuke, Neji, and shikamsru would be unstoppable if they where open to being equals and trusting each other
Seeing Nejis long wind/air attacks with Sasukes fire style plus Shikamaru being able to draw shadows from the flames would be dope
I don't think shikamaru would like Sasuke much at all lol.
@@Skuraablossom i think he'd admire his talent but he wouldn't respect the douche bag that was Sasuke. Shikamaru doesn't deal with bullshit and it would be pleinty of conflict definitely when you add neji. Neji and Sasuke probably would work well together though.
Sasuke would be a pain in the arse. Remember the first time he met Neji? He snubbed him
Did you skip out on the Sasuke Retrieval arc my guy? Shikamaru admitted to looking up to Sasuke and couldn't understand why someone like Sasuke would leave the village if he was at the top of their class. This view remains the same whether you read the manga or watch the anime. Neji, Sasuke, and Shikamaru.. I'd pay to see that team.@@cngotham4111
“Cause he focused on an emo trying to make his hand scream I. The mountains” I just laughed for 15 mins straight
Tbf Sasuke wouldn't really get along well with really anyone at all tho imo Shikamaru and Neji would be the two most vocal.
I would swap kiba with either hyuuga. Have kiba with Kakashi
(Atleast he's my favorite character in the show)
@@jasonreed7522 Same.
Well, I like Kakashi almost as much as I like Shikamaru, but these two were always my favorites.
Let's be buzzkills about it because consistency is important
If we're gonna be buzzkills, then Naruto should pair up with Ino instead.
The Yamanaka Clan is super underrated. Ino could really develop her clan's Mind Control jutsus by being on the main character's team.
Like that time when Inoichi put several people under his control and made them fight each other without leaving his own body. Imagine Ino with jutsus of that level or higher.
Plus, during the Chunin Exams, Ino would be able to take over Naruto's body to give him the answers.
The Hokage can do whatever he wants.
12:20 Yeah, especially in anime there are times where Overwhelming Force > Plans.
Neji, Tenten, Sakura
Hinata, Sasuke, Shikamaru
Choji, Naruto, Ino
Rock Lee, Kiba, Shino
Asuma, Naruto, Tenten and Shikamaru (your team is perfect)
Guy, Lee, Hinata and Choji (all taijutsu beasts, plus Hinata and Choji need constant motivation)
Kurenai, Sakura, Ino and Shino (Genjutsu and mind jutsus for Ino and Sakura, plus they are rivals and motivate each other. Shino for tracking and keep them safe in battle)
Kakashi, Sasuke, Kiba and Neji (Kakashi prefers male puppils, plus these three have big egos and would motivate each other to be their best selves, with Kakashi mediating conflict)
The biggest issue with your new Team Kakashi isn't the abilities that they all would have in the future, but rather the personalities and already existing relationships of some of the members at the point that point of the team's formation, which I would assume to be at the beginning of the series.
Pre-Shippuden Neji would definitely be in for a rude awakening under Kakashi’s tutelage.
Kakashi's team is terrible in terms of emotional connect for real i guess that team sunk so the others could float.
Yes, if Asuma or Naruto could think of adding clones to their training. If not, elemental training could take many years.
And Tenten can just spam weapons and give them to all the clones
The video starts on 2:36
Tenten would have been so cool if she had a katana and a bow to cover her close and long range attacks respectively and all the thrown weapons for mid range
She could add chakra and make it deadly and also could have gain a good enough screentime to have relevant info on her
They should've given her a mist sword
@@Nazoto Imagine this new Team 7 is still the one to go on the Bridge Mission. Tenten gets to pair up against Haku for who can throw the most sharp things (and loses, probably), and then when Zabuza is killed she gets her hands on the Executioner Blade. A bit early to give her something like that, but maybe it's one of those "use at a cost until you learn it better" weapons she can call upon at critical moments.
@@ffgamers-qd3wz I didn’t even think of chakra blades arrowheads, imagine adding wind style chakra to an arrow?
Teams keeping the above in mind:
Team Kurenai - Sasuke, Sakura, Kiba - Same as in video
Team Kakashi - Ino, Shino, Choji - Choji replaces Guy as the frontline in the video.

He had a cute puppy
@@maheshwari_khush4976has*
And we have Kiba, akamaru's emotional support human.
I did a similar exercise to this some years ago but only for Naruto
And more specifically for narrative purposes rather than power balance
And what I did was do what the anime crew did during the filler arcs at the end of Naruto, put him, Kiba and Hinata on a single team
You get much more healthy rivalry between Kiba and Naruto pushing one another to go farther, Kiba and Hinata were shown to have a really good friendship (and IIRC he was the first of the kids to realize Hinata's feelings for Naruto) and having her and Naruto on a single team and therefore interacting more would help to actually establish their romance instead of depending on filler and a movie to try to make it make sense
FIRE
