Post mortem comment: Thanks to some wonderful comments and tips, I'm now aware that lance and gunlance are able to block the nergi bunny hops using the guard up skill from urragon. It'll require a change of weapon specific to the fight, but fight specific special mechanics is WHAT IM ABOUT! when the time comes for me to take on Iceborne I'll keep it in mind and try it with ruiner nergigante. I chose not to use the lance weapons because I thought chip damage would be unavoidable from blocks, but obviously thats monster and situation dependent. I'm all for changing my gear for the situation and kinda kicking myself for not thinking of trying this.
Great run, congratz. Always love seeing these challenges. I've never hit Nergi for 250dmg on the first fight, but that may be realated with destroying the cores. Also, you could use dung pods to force Odogaron to the higher levels of the map.
40:00 so fun thing i learned with a friend is at the final stage of thge zorah quest you can climb up his face durring certain animations and get back onto his back to break more cores. i doesnt get more rewards though but you can get damage
Nergigante actually WILL go away "on his own" the first Zorah fight, but you are ALSO correct that he needs to take about 250 damage. However, there's a couple tricks to that answer. First off, if you run straight back, you can generally get a pretty easy clutch claw and then launch him into the wall, which does a huge chunk of it. And a lot of time, he'll land and scrabble around on to of one of Zorah's little lava pocket things. Those occasionally do burst little bits of lava, which do deal damage to Nergi. I don't think he throws the rocks in this particular fight, but those lava pockets alone, with careful positioning, will do enough damage to fend off Nergigante in time.
I found that a roll cancel out of Perfect Rush into another Perfect Rush is ideal for when the monster is immobile. The final hit of Perfect Rush launches you away and wastes potential DPS.
yup. i make use of this all the time. however when hte monster is just getting up, its better to do the quick finisher, otherwise you're asking to take a smack and get very little out of it. this is doubly true for a run like this where the finisher has the added benefit of QUICKLY distancing myself from the monster to give me a safety bubble I do use that trick very frequently however
41:00 So, you actually could have just eaten your vegetables! Eating vegetables in World provides elemental resistance, rather than physical Def... Meaning typically, you can get a full 20 element resistance, by simply having positive values, and EATING YOUR GREENS! Very underused and poorly understood mechanic, food is. EXCELLENT WORK, good luck in iceborne! Side note, go king Bowgee~ Love and Peace folks, best of luck in your pursuits!
its one of my favorite sound effects. I used it in the Bezelgeuse video too I think in that screamer sac gag I used bazel roar, gyoubu scream, the screaming goat, goku transformation, and eran jeager screaming, all in the span of like 5 seconds XD
HBG is surprisingly annoying to use and learn I'd argue, though LBG definitely is super simple, compared to other weapons. Still a difficult challenge 😅
0:35 ok whats the song here me need this iratating pice of shit in my life. Also 3:23 a refence to the crap guide to monster hunter vids. You make your subscribers proud
@@YouGoBoomYoget that song is a kazoo cover of the song "Chainsaw Blood" which is used as an ED in the anime chainsaw man I put the link to evans kazoo covers in the description of the video if you wanna check out his channel
how would one apply status ailments without doing damage except for poison smoke bombs? also, the sheer supplies required for a single hunt given monster tolerance would be unimaginable

I just appriciate the Gravity Rush music in the background sometime around the 13:00 mark
Kazoo cover went crazy!!!
24:50 thats why I, as a baby greatsword main, love him.
CHAINSAW BLOOD!!. Also amazing video
The only strategy needed is to become the perfect Longsword player. No pressure.
okay now do it again but instead of "beating mhw" its "finding my dad" (please its been 5 years)
Bird up!
I love the dark souls sound effects in the beginning.

I've beaten the base game armorless (melee only as well) so I'm sure no damage is also possible (since someone on tds. Did it without taking damage)
yup. I bring up that tds run in the first 10 seconds of the video
No bowguns means actually beating the game without braindead easy baby mode
aww give team darkside more credit than that!! bowgun or not its still a VERY hard challenge
