This was one of the best videos we have watched about traveling in Scotland and we have watched sooooo many as we are planning for our trip in 2024. Thank you for sharing your experience. 😊
Love Scotland, I’ve made 6 - 2 week trips there to enjoy as much as possible. Had a seventh planned, to the Hebrides, then c19 came about. Absolutely love Scotland. My trips were more of a historical visits. Love the history
That's amazing. It sounds like you managed to visit most of this beautiful country! The Hebrides are a must: we truly loved driving through the landscape and really enjoyed the peace and quiet they offer. I hope you manage to reschedule soon! :) I'm hoping to post the video of our trip to the Hebrides soon so stay tuned!
Can't believe how many dolphins you saw. My mother and I must have spent thousands looking for dolphins on various trips over the years and we've never seen a single one. My mum is 70 and has been trying to see one for 50 years. We've also been everywhere in your video at least once so you were extremely lucky.
I knew we had been lucky, but not SO lucky! It was absolutely incredible, so keep trying. I'm sure you and your mum will finally be able to spot these incredible creatures. We did the Staffa Boat Tour in late August, if that helps. I'm rooting for you, keep me posted! 🤞
@@luca.manelli I've done that exact tour before and saw nothing...though there were sightings the day before and the day after (not the first time that's happened, maybe we're jinxed!)
I hope you see some dolphins one day!!! Is there anywhere you have a chance to see them from land? That's a lot of money spend. I really hope it happens for you both - it will be magical when it does
Two of the best places to see dolphins from land in Scotland is near Inverness (Chanonry Point, Fortrose) and Aberdeen ( Torry Battery overlooking the Harbour). Ask locally for the best tide times for viewing.
Very nice video! Gives one a lot of peace and relaxation, thanks for that! 🙏🏼☺️ We start next spring our European trip in Scotland, not sure if that's the best idea weather-wise, but still can't wait. 💯
Very glad you enjoyed it, guys! ☺️ There might still be snow at higher altitudes, but I am sure you will have a great time in Scotland! Get in touch if you want some advice on destinations! :)
Lovely video. I’m glad you enjoyed our beautiful Argyll, and I thought your itinerary was one of the best I’ve seen on You Tube (I would highly recommend it). A couple of wee notes on pronunciation: Luss (as in ‘bus’); Lomond Lo (as in ‘low’) mond (as in ‘pond’); Kerrera Ke (as it sounds but with emphasis on this first syllable) rrera (as it sounds but less emphasis and said quickly); Kilchurn Kil (as in ‘kill’) ch (as in ‘loch’) u (sounds like ‘oo’) so it sounds like ‘kill-hoorn’ (with the emphasis on the second syllable);
Thank you very much Kirsten! We had the best time in Argyll, and I would really like to visit again, perhaps focusing on Mull, Jura and Islay. If you have any suggestions please do get in touch! Appreciate the pronunciation lesson, I have been practicing out loud! 😊
Great vid. We’ll be visiting Oban next april with the whole family. Our dad is just as active and lively as yours. Your video helped us a lot. I’m curious and exited about the Iona and Staffa trip. How would that be only 30 quid? Because the cheapest offer I found was more than 80. (€, euros that is. We’ll be very willing to pay everything in Euro Sterling).
Hey Erik, I am really glad you enjoyed the video! For the Staffa boat tour it really depends what your starting point is. If you leave from Fionnphort it is still 30 quid, whereas if you leave from Oban or want to add the Treshnish Islands then it goes up in price. You can find all the tours here: www.staffatours.com/tours/ Best of lick with your trip, I am sure you will have a fantastic time!
@@luca.manelliI lived in that house it was used as the staff quarters of the great western hotel on the esplanade the stories that house could tell long time ago I was a chef in the great western 1972 to 1975 Oban is a great place
Hey Richie, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) For this video I used a DJI Osmo Pocket. Decent stabilization thanks to the gimbal, but most importantly, very very portable. Fits in your pocket and can record in 4K!
Hey Richie, that's the same camera. Full name is DJI Osmo Pocket. I use the original model, whereas the 2 is the upgrade (it comes with 4x digital zoom).
I have watched the first 5 minutes of this video, and so far you have only pronounced Oban correctly, Luss as in us, not loose, Gylen, Kerrera? When you can't do it ask a local, your pronunciation shows no respect for the history of the land you walk upon.
Relax, mate. I've literally said I don't know the correct pronunciation in the first minute of this video. I'd like to hear your pronunciation of "spaghetti", "pistacchio" or any other Italian word I hear mispronounced on a daily basis.
You need to chill out, this video does nothing but promote Scotland. They gave you historical information too. Couldn't care less if they get the odd name wrong.

Hey Angela, thank you very much and I am happy to hear you've found it helpful when planning your trip. Which area will you be visiting?

Let acknowledge this video, shall we. It was brilliantly done!
Thanks Michele, far too kind! :)
The Duke of Argyll's wife was a foxy lady!! A great story!

I thought you were joking initially when you said you swam to the island. Great video!
Thank you Craig! It was really cool indeed to swim to the island. Saving on the ferry as well! :)
Beautiful video enjoy many more safe travels 🙏

Very enjoyable video and excellent cinematography.
Thank you very much, very glad you enjoyed it! :)
You got our 7 days of summer 😉
We were truly blessed with the weather! So much that I started to doubt rumours and stereotypes about the Scottish weather 😊
Beautiful video! Have you posted part 2?
Hi Sally, glad you enjoyed it! 😊 Not yet - but keep your eyes peeled cause it's coming soon!

Beautiful video. Could you share the name of the house you stayed in Oban?
Thanks Dan, I am glad you enjoyed the video! :)
The house we stayed at in Oban is called Blythswood House.

That is crazy, Thomas.. what a story! Not too bad for some staff quarters! :) Thanks for sharing.

Who gives a -----! why do we get pedantic idiots who are probably incapable of pronouncing anything out of their limited confines?
