I’ve realised another reason why I love your channel aside from jokes, doggos, DIY, history, beautiful scenery, art, music, and general good vibes. As an Australian I’ve always gone on holiday to other countries when it’s cheap, which means in their winter and our summer, which means other countries and holidays to me mean beautiful cold and exotic snow and the crunch of walking in amazing, magical, icy forests and hills! Now life is a bit more expensive I’m not travelling anymore which is a bit soul destroying so watching your channel, especially in winter, feels like being on holiday. So thank you for helping this free spirit travel still, from her hot, dry, dusty, bushfire smokey (sometimes!) Australian home! It’s very much appreciated.
I loved your comment, for me living in the UK in winter where we have all had snow, ice, a severe chill factor and never ending grey skies, I watch a lot of Australian RUclipsrs for the Sunshine and blue skies. If only we could bottle some of each others weather and swap. Stay safe.
You too. I'm stuck inside the house again. I can get the front door open; but, the back door is frozen shut again. I'm 76 years old. I'm not going outside until this round of storms is over. I hope we don't get more freezing rain. I was lucky. I did get to the grocery store, Post office, and the Walmart before this happened again. I'm baking bread, and roasting vegetables right now. I restocked the cats' food also. We should be alright also.
I drove for decades in the Canadian countryside, no snow tires, no probs. Older and wiser, I now always have snows on for the winter and they are awesome! Freezing rain days…stay in, work from home. Ice is no joke. Great tips on winter clothing. ❄️
Wait wait wait wait wait, fleece-lined trousers are a thing I could be living in?! 🤯 You learn something new every day. Congratulations on escaping the glen long enough to finally get some shopping done, and, of course, on seeing the gritter, Scotland's most elusive critter!
Many years ago part of my job was de-icing pylons. I wore thermal underwear, fleece lined trousers and breathable waterproofs, such a palaver when you needed to pee. After stripping back the layers it was another job to find the particular body part needed to facilitate the draining of unwanted waste fluids.
Hello Sarah and Willie, great video today. With good views of scenery. Thank You Sarah for the clothing advice, it was very helpful I've been looking for winter wear. Too bad Willie that you were not able to capture any footage in the forest. So glad you guys were able to make a trip out to the grocery store to stock up on food again. Hoping the weather is not too cold and freezing where you're living right now. Looking forward to the next video as always. ❤
Some parts of the road looked to be still a little sketchy. So glad you made it safely back with no problems. And with food for the dogs and for the humans! Yay.
The scenery is just stunning this time of year ...actually any time of year there....I always love how Jack runs ahead and then stops to make sure your still coming along ..he's such a loyal pup... glad your staying safe glare ice is no joke especially with the slopes on the side of the track...here in Atlantic Canada we always keep stocked up..more for heavy snow but ice storms do happen that cut power sometimes for days... you can't go wrong with good planning...great video keep safe....Karl from eastern Canada👍👍👍❤❤❤
Hey Willie and Sarah, I'm concerned about you. How have you weathered the storm? Did you evacuate? I hope you are safe. Blessings and prayers to you both and Richard. Take care. Sandra
I've never heard of Vivo shoes, but they look great! I might have to try a pair, thanks Sarah for all the great tips, enjoyed it and enjoyed watching the scenery as you walked; it's really beautiful there. And congratulations that you got out of the glen; nice to have a different scene to see. Enjoy that weather and I hope it becomes warmer soon. We haven't had more than 2" of snow this winter! Lots of rain though. We usually have a lot of snow here but the mountains are white which is good. We call "the gritter" the snow plow and also they put down sand for traction. Be safe! (from Sandi)
I’m lying in bed, listening to the thunder after a hot and sultry day on the south coast of Western Australia, watching you both, frozen in, in the Glen! I swam in our local waterhole this morning, and there is a cyclone tracking along the Pilbara coast. So different from your ice and snow! Just love your content! Glad you got to the shops to stock up!
Thank you for the Vevo Barefoot code, and also the review, I’ve been trying to find something reliable like that for a while 😊👍🏼and it was useful hearing what you thought about them
Agree, freezing rain is no joke. Dangerous. Glad you take safety seriously. Woke up to -26c here this morning, no wind thank goodness, and bright clear blue skies.
Loved the video as always😊 We get quite a bit of freezing rain here in Central Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 and it's not fun having to deice your vehicle 😕 before tackling the roads. The Skye scenery is beautiful for sure. Jack is so cute chomping the ice 😊. Glad you finally made it out of the glen for your food shop.😊 Have a great week! ❤
I have to say the scenery there the same way of life reminds me of my home in Newfoundland canada it’s unbelievable the same even to the animals when I can get some pictures I will send you some love your content keep it up
Jack sure loves breaking those ice sheets on the puddles. Thank you for giving info on the great products you wear and use. Glad you were able to get out and get some groceries to stock up again. Thanks for those funny bloopers. 😅
I’m near your local Asda. We had the same weather. -4c daytime and -7c at night. Snow, ice, snow and more ice. Then it all disappeared overnight in a sudden and dramatic thaw.
I can't wait till I've finished the back catalogue for the new ones anymore, I'm watching them, then going back 😂 Funny Jack crunching ice, he's so adorable. I'm about to set up a trail cam, eek it sounds more complicated than I thought! Vivo shoes look amazing, they are just waaaay out of my price range 😕 Charity shop fleece beanies are good under wool ones too 😉
Happy Sunday to the Skye Gang! Well, that's me all caught up on the past episodes, so it's all new from here on. Skye is gorgeous no matter the weather, and I remain extremely jealous of where you live.
That scenery on the walk was absolutely breathtaking! I love seeing Jack jump around in the puddles too. I swear he's part mer-dog! LOL Be careful with letting him chew on ice though, as it can break their teeth, just like with us. Just an FYI.
I am watching this from Western Australia where the temperature I 43 degrees Celsius on Mon 20 Jan. The air conditioner is working overtime. Mind you looking at your weather and snowy scenes. I am feeling cool as well. Love your programme.
Jack was so cute breaking ice like a little kid. The snow scenes are beautiful and I know what it is like to be snowed in. Try riding a bicycle in those weather conditions. You skate on your back for free🤣🤣🤣
Jack is always been my baby,The way he moves his head when you both talk to him.Making the smartest dog i know.Sarah can you talk about the wildlife in Skye,
❤❤❤❤❤ This video will remind me that the ice and snow that we are looking for Tuesday/Wednesday this week is not soooooo very bad here in Florida USA.😊😊😊😊❤
Love grocery shopping day. Sarah I love your cardigan (jumper) at the end of the video. I hope you put the camera back out Willie. Great video, cheers.
Hi you two, marvellous video, again, as usual! I grew up in Alberta with lots of snow and black ice roads in temps as low as -40 (-50 with wind chill). I’m now in balmy (relative terms) Vancouver where we get snow for a short time, usually once or twice a year, so I’m loving your winter vids! Thanks. When we leave the city to go into the back country and mountains, we have to use tyre chains, by law. (Now I understand, thanks) They are fantastic for getting us almost anywhere in deep snow or on ice. I’m surprised that you guys don’t have any. Granted, they can be a pain to put on, but well worth it for greater mobility. There was a time when we could get tyres with “studs” (haha, not a hunky man), embedded for gripping the ice. Anyway, love you guys!
Jack is so funny with that ice puddle! I had to look up the word "gritter". Never heard of that before. It said it is a "salt truck" in the U.S. It really is so beautiful where you live. You are so lucky. Thank you.
Love the videos thank you. I lived outside Inverness for many years and visited Skye often…..beautiful. I live in Canada now and freezing rain is the thing that really grinds things to a halt here. I look forward to visiting Skye again this year and some of the places you’ve recommended. Stay cosy all.
Thanks for a gorgeous vid, love your walks…. Love my £92! Yes £92! Saving from Vivo barefoot, I’ve been wearing them for years.. bought hiking shoes and the ballerina pumps for work! Thank you for the code! Woohoo! You are like Tesco….every little helps! See you next Sunday xx thanks both
So very beautiful!!! We are having a deep freeze here in NE Ohio with snow and ice. I love how snow softens and delineates shapes. Thank you for the winter fear advice! ❤❤❤
Always happy when Sunday arrives and I get watch another wonderful adventure with you both and of course those adorable pups. Glad you were able to go shopping between storms and restock your freezer for a week or two. Winter is pretty darn harsh on Skye and you always live it and love it. Stay safe and well, love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
Hi I only started watching your channel recently, have to say it’s a breath of fresh air, love the humour, bloopers & most of all the dogs, keep up the good work 😀

Thank you so much Sarah. Is there also a Vivo link for EU customers? Thank you for all the great video's you bring.
Hi Sarah! And I was wondering if there is a Vivo link for Canadian customers. Love your videos! Thank you!

As a South African, I agree 100% with your comment 😉🇿🇦
Jack is so funny breaking ice like a little kid.😂
I love that crunching sound!
Free toys are always the best ones.
I’m a two legger and do like Jack 😊 Always have. Showed my sons how to do it too. -15C presently 🇨🇦

That sound like a lovely time…I would love to snuggle with a cat, while eating homemade bread!❤ stay safe.
The weather on Skye sounds a lot like the weather in Newfoundland Canada 🇨🇦. Jack was so cute breaking ice like a little kid.
The bird song in the woods was a Goldcrest 😀 lovely video as usual 😍
Happy Sunday everyone ❤

I love snow especially when it’s not where I am. So pretty.
How utterly adorable is Jack's reaction to the ice , and its audio-ice growl....😂❤❤❤
“Oh Nori don’t fart!” 🤣🤣 I enjoy the bloopers each week.
Thoroughly enjoyed this week’s episode!
Good to see you are surviving the winter weather.
MYTHICAL GRITTER sighting! That's more rare than a kelpie!
Ahaha we actually saw it in the glen twice that week - unheard of!! 😱
@@livingtheskyelife TWICE?! Maybe it's a male and female and it's Gritter breeding season?
Fairy Gritters… did you make a wish?

Hi, Sarah and Willie. Thank you for sharing the beautiful walks. Seeing Jack and Nori on the walks puts a smile on my face❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m so glad that you have the second frig as well, and Jack? What a character he is, eating ice. Thanks for taking us along on the walks.
Wait wait wait wait wait, fleece-lined trousers are a thing I could be living in?! 🤯 You learn something new every day.

Your Hair Today reminded me of the mad hatter !!🤣🤣 All Your Pictures Sarah have you thought of making Place Mats !!!
I laughed out loud watching Jack breaking, then, eating ice cream
I miss the silence. I have had tinnitus since my mid twenties, I'm 67 now. I have a high pitched whistle accompanied by the hiss you get when you're trying th find a radio channel on a transistor radio. The noise never goes away but I have learned to 'tune it out' which works a lot of the time. If I am actively listening to nature I cannot tune it out 😢. I do appreciate the fact that I can hear so I never complain about it. Loving your channel 😊
I loved it. Must search those trousers
Great video. Nice cardigan in closing scenes❤️🙏🙂
