The b stands for b, not beta, it is beta- hemolytic though. The technical name (which you should be using) is Streptococcus Agalactiae (meaning no milk, because it causes cow mastitis).😊

At any given time any of us have it as part of the gut flora, it’s not just pregnancy related. It won’t hurt you. Just eat more prebiotic foods such as watermelon, green banana, cashews, pistachios, yogurt, garlic, kombucha. Take a good probiotic. Dr. Formula has a great one.
@@jamesobrien7074 no. I had homebirths with a midwife and also a freebirth. If baby has infection the first few days will manifest a high fever; late onset is even more rare. GBS usually doesn’t pose a serious threat in most cases babies are fine.

It can sometimes travel to the bladder and cause symptoms of a UTI, if that happens it can be treated just as any simple bladder infection, with a short course of antibiotics.

I found out around 11 weeks I had GBS. They gave me amoxicillin and I understand that before labor I would do rounds of iv antibiotics. I understand why I would need the antibiotics, but I don't understand why antibiotics 2xs.....such as the amoxicillin at 11 weeks pregnant. Is it normal to have Antibiotics 2xs in your pregnancy?
Great question! Be sure to let your doctor know during pregnancy. When the swab goes to the lab they can test GBS for susceptibility to another antibiotic (clindamycin). If it's not susceptible to that one or that testing is not done, then a third antibiotic is used (vancomycin).

What about probiotics Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GR-1 and Lactobacillus Reuteri RC-14 to help prevent a GBS positive result in the end of pregnancy?

They say everybody has a UTI anymore they want to give everybody antibiotics they're doing some kind of experiment
Could GBS be related to Endometriosis in any way?
GBS is not that big of a deal. Out of 6 babies I had it 3 times. I never took antibiotics. My babies were all fine

What about when you're extremely allergic to penicillin
Cephalosporins (you might be allergic to them too), Macrolides, Clindamycin, Carbapenems or Vancomycin. Look these antibiotics up on the internet.
How is gbs discharge treated?

Would a test be performed early if a previous pregnancy results in a loss due to complications from gbs?
The timing of the test may not change since the prophylactic measure is done during labor, check with your provider about individual scenarios though!
I have never hear loss of pregnancy due to gbs. That's scary.

Don't do it ladies do not do it also there's a pill called cytotec and they say it's just a soften your uterus it's to induce labor don't take it

they belong to your normal flora so if you don't have an infection it should be alright. it's normal to be Strep. B positiv
