I turn 42 next week and for some reason I've been feeling so nostalgic for my childhood. I've been watching rainbow brite, the snorks, wuzzles, fragil rock and Jem just to name a few. Life was just better in the 80s and 90s 🤗
Ikr, I was beginning to think I was experiencing the Mandela effect because at first I couldn't find anything online about this movie but knew for a fact I'd seen it many times as a child.
i used to watch this when i was 4, i just spent the last 11 years trying to figure out the name of this movie, im 15 btw and i just found it, i feel amazing right now
I think I had one of these dolls. Either the daffodil or the sunflower one. I had no idea where my grandma had found it. She does like shopping at thrift stores. I really liked the doll. She was super cute. I was like around 8 (2005/6) when my grandma gave it to me. I totally forgot about it until now.
So many times I have described this show and people always say "your'e probably thinking of the flowe scene in Alice and Wonderland". I'm so glad I found this! I'm not crazy after all!
I watched the vhs of this movie at my grandmas house when I was little. I rewatched it again and again. I’m almost 18 now, and just glad I can watch it again. I love this movie so much
OMG, I wanted the Rose Petal Place playset for Christmas so badly when I was a little girl. My parents refused to get it for me. I loved flowers and plants since I was little and loved the playset and character designs. I never found out why my parents never got it for me.
@@velvety2006 Already on it. Haven't found the playset yet, just the dolls. I plan on on getting them after my surgery and medical bills are taken care of.
I haven't seen this in over 30 years, it's insane to remember it after all this time! The Legend of Sirius was also another one of my childhood favorites.
I was born a few years after this movie came out but somehow I still remember watching it, it must have been through re-runs. Thank u so much for sharing
I'm 33, but my older sister is 44 and had this on VHS so I got to watch all of her stuff. I ended up with a whole bunch of shows that I watched that a bunch of kids my age didn't so this is one of those, I have the memory of it but my friends looked at me like I'm crazy things. So glad this is real, we had the books too!
I have looked for this for years! Watched it with my grandmother when I was probably 4 and could only very vaguely remember it. Thought for sure I was crazy since no one else remembered It! Thank you for posting!
✨🌹🥹🥀I loved this, I had that board game in the thumbnail, some of the dolls, and a little pink round rubber stamper of the hedgehog! Still have that stamper somewhere! ✨🍃💐🦔💐🍃✨
Oh this is sweet. When my family was traveling through the South I picked up the VHS back in 89. Fairly cute story. I was 7 & I found it remotely entertaining. The film has decent animation great voice actresses & actors. However I was more into My Little Ponies & Lady Lovely Locks. I like to thank you for posting it for those who have not seen it. Thank you °~•.☆.•~°
I never knew it was so old. I was born in 89 and I used to watch this on VHS at my grandma's when I was a kid. I just assumed it was from sometime in the early 90's.
This is the first time I watched it, unlike everyone else already watched it 30-40 years ago. Well, I wasn't born and neither of us know this show. Just like Thumbelina (animated) and other one, I don't remember the name. Three of them is on ±1980 and I'm born in 1995, my mom is late pregnancy for 7 years.
You should check out the moomins reboot, moomins on the riveria, summer camp island and bluey!! It has wholesome calming and sweet vibes to all of them
I was obsessed with Rose Petal Place as a small child in the 80s! Though I have to admit, I found the live action scene of the girl crying over a flower to be extremely cringe, even then. I always wondered why she wouldn't just dig up the rose bush and take it with her, or pick her favorite rose and dry it, or something. I also always wondered how anyone can have a "favorite rose" when roses just bloom and then die a short time later. Other than those concerns, though, I absolutely loved it!
It might be a tad extreme to care so much over a flower, although, as it's for children, the intent might just be to help children get accustomed to loss? After all, using a rose as a proxy is probably easier for a child to overcome compared to, say, their grand parents, parents, or even a living pet. (I have yet to watch the film in full, so unsure what the show's resolution is). Or it could just be a silly movie lol, idk.
Thank you for uploading this!!! I never saw this, but read one of the books at the library as a small child and could never find it again. Now decades later I know what the series was called!
Beautifully animated! Not a fan of Rosepetal singing, but I loved seeing my favorite childhood book and tape on film! Precious and perfect for kids, not that creepy
0:23 - Mr. Kirschner also did Dark Water (1991), The Pagemaster (1994), The Flintstones (1994), Titan A.E. (2000), Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas (2000), Secondhand Lions (2004) and Curious George (2006)
Honestly, I think this would be a great doll line to reboot and make a movie or short series to promote. I’d change the villain to something that is a danger to local flora, like an invasive plant or fungus. There’s a lot of fun potential to have a garden as a place where good and evil battle back and forth.
Hmm I wonder if this was clearly trying to be a knock off of strawberry shortcake or compete with it I can’t find any info to prove that, though other than the fact that the rose Petal toys were made by the same company that made the strawberry shortcake dolls
Is there another movie of this? I’ve been trying to find a cartoon that this seems to fit more than any other one I’ve seen while searching. But it’s just not how I remember it. I remember the house being more like a small cottage and an old woman who lived in it. And I remember they did each look like a flower but they had wings like fairies.
I´m 45 and this song just came to my head after some 40 years!
Same!!!
Oh! I had two of the dolls from this! Still have them in my attic and storage actually. And they still have their scent a little bit!
How much you want for them? 😁
Marie Osmond did a fantastic job voice acting and singing on this. Such underated talent.
LOVED this growing up. Wish I could find it on DVD. And it's still great.
This is bringing back memories of Cabbage Patch Kids, Strawberry Shortcake & the Care Bears. 😊 I’m 42.
What about "Sweet sea"?

❤Same here!! 😍🤭🤭💕💕
Also, they're SO different. These are actual human like people dressed as flowers, they're not ACTUALLY flowers like in Alice and wonderland.
Going down the rabbit hole of nostalgic movies. So grateful these childhood gems can still be found. 💓

I watched this when home sick from school one day as a kid. All this time I thought it was a fever dream 😭

Hello vague fragment of a memory that dimly qualifies as nostalgia since it exists in the very deepest corner of my memories...
