@@XtrAMassivE YU4's are more feature rich, slightly larger than the YU2's and ~$200 more. YU'4s also don't have a USB, which is convenient when using as desktop speakers. Not to mention, they're getting a bit outdated now. That all said, Kanto recently released their new ORA desktop speakers, which is practically an updated YU2 and comes with a Type-C (instead of USB) and has Bluetooth. Exactly what I was looking for. So on the contrary my friend, They Did... They Did 😉
Well bro its looks is nice as I love the minimalist style and from your review has piqued my interest... Will definitely go and sample it personally before making my purchase decision
I have a pair of these, and I do like them, but there are drawbacks. First of all, they need equalizing, to tone the bass down, fix the mids, and make the highs even better. The biggest complaint I have is the subwoofer output. If you're wanting to use any kind of serious subwoofer, this isn't the speaker you want. I have an infinity sub r12 (300w), and I have to turn it up past 3/4 volume to get any performance out of it. I read on reddit from Kanto themselves that the sub output voltage is too low for high end subs. Perhaps something with higher sensitivity would perform better? These look great, and sound pretty good as well, but be aware of their limitations.
Is there any hissing at low or high volume? Is there any hissing with no music playing and volume is down vs all the way up? Is there any hissing with nothing connected to them and volume is down vs all the way up?
Thank you for your feedback Jerry, while I have personally tested many speakers and audio devices from Edifier and am well aware of how good their devices are, we are looking at a premium brand from Canada, it’s like comparing a Xiaomi phone and a Samsung phone. Plus, try he sound stage of this YU2 is wider than any speaker within this form factor 🙂
So guys, do let me know what you think of this cool and compact speakers? 😁
Oh yes, gotta love this audio series of things.
Thanks Vincent! Glad to hear that 🙂
I’ve purchased this recently and will provide an edit after Santa lets me open the box. Thanks for the review.
They need to release an updated version with bluetooth already. That is the only reason I'm leaning towards the audioengine A2+
Thanks for your feedback Saif 🙂
@@AdamLoboTV Of course! Excellent video.
I don't think they will, they have YU4 for that
