fun video dude, very well organized, informative, transparent and entertaining. I didn't even do 1.5 speed until you started talking about colors. great job!!!
Thank you for your review - It's the best one I've seen out of all of them on the YU2. I've just decided to buy some white YU2's because they were £50 cheaper than the Audioengine A2+ wireless. My new YU2's will be replacing a 12 year old pair of cheap Logitech speakers that have just started to break. Can't wait to see how it improves everything for me :D
This is my own personal experience with speakers that have a volume controller knob. Granted, my old set of speakers were some cheap-y ones from Logitech back in 2012-2013 but I didn't like the extra cable with a volume controller panel. I'm currently just using some cheap Red Dragons and the volume controller is on the speakers itself but always reset itself every time the computer turns on whether it was just asleep, hibernating or full shut down. Like you said in the video, I'd much rather control it either via audio interface whether it is from an external audio interface or some software on the computer. The Yu2s look like a good match for my own wants and needs so I'll give it a try. Thanks for the information and experience.
Just bought some Yu2’s a few days ago and I already had a better DAC than what’s included in the speakers. (Schiit audio Modi with a Magni 3+) So I have not been using the USB input and have been running them with the AUX input and they are fantastic. A really nice Upgrade from my Creative pebble plus that I paired to a Yamaha YST-SW010
Hi, have you listened to Triangle LN01A? I can't decide between Yu4 and LN01A for my computer desk. I like the YU4 more because of the smaller size, but I'm not sure.
Hi fellow Malaysian, this video is a god send! I was thinking of getting a sound bar for my TV, but then came across audioenginer A2+ review in RUclips, then thought why not get a pair of it for laptop/TV/phone use. Was thinking it will be very convenient if using Bluetooth connection, then hearing quite a few RUclipsr or Redditor recommending Kanto YU2, like what you said YU2s are without Bluetooth, aiks. So I’m stuck with YU2 or YU4, I liked the YU2 for the size, while YU4 for the Bluetooth connection ( I believed it has! ) I currently don’t have desktop, only laptops and possibly MacBook Pro 2021 in the near future. I might consider getting a PC desktop in future provided the price will drop down. Primarily going to use the speaker to music listening, I’m not audiophile either, used HiVi Swan M50 2.1 speakers previously, which is now broken. Considering the most possible scenario now, lets say I’m going to get MacBook Pro 14”/16” M1 pro, with iPad Air 4, and iPhone 13, which speakers you would recommend me to go for? I’m worried on this case cuz with Apple devices the connections seems a bit limited here. Both iPad Air and iPhone dont have that 3.5mm jack. And MacBook Pro (if im getting it) dont have that USB Type A port. If going for: 1. YU2, i get the size i wanted, but right now im not sure which connection to the speaker is possible for me. Sweat 2. YU4, with Bluetooth there, this is quite safe. A… one thing, not sure how to switch input with these speakers? Lets say can i connect multiple devices into them and switch as I pleased? Sorry for the long comments, hope to hear from you soon!
With the YU4 you use the controller, with the YU2 there's only the 3.5mm AUX jack or the USB connection. If you want multiple inputs for more future proof, get the YU4.
Currently using Edifier R1280DBs. Love it, decent bass for my setup. Would it worth to upgrade it Yu4? Didn't know much about the ports as I only connect it using Bluetooth to my computer.
Honestly, I would say so. But then again since audio is super subjective, I'd go have a listen at your closest showroom. If you're in KL/PJ, let me know, I'll hook u up
YU4 and YU6 drop USB for phono MM input. Fibre optic and coaxial are less useful than USB and HDMI ARC. Kanto have a nice range up to the TUK and good range of finishes.
I had the YU6. I loved these speakers but after three years the power supply stopped working and couldn't find parts to replace. I eventually got these powered speakers converted into passive speakers instead. Still love them but as mentioned as with every other powered speakers, they can cause problems once the internals have issues
YU4 if you like a more detailed sound, A5+ if you want a little more oomph in the bass department. I personally prefer the Yu4 and the possibility of adding the sub later on.
I've never liked any of the Razer audio stuff. But.... I must say this, a balanced sound might not be best for competitive gaming if your ears are not super sensitive to the treble and upper mids range.
Is there any hissing at low or high volume? Is there any hissing with no music playing and volume is down vs all the way up? Is there any hissing with nothing connected to them and volume is down vs all the way up?
can anyone help. I have a MAC mini- Can I use the YU4 for my computer with just Bluetooth.. or the sound wouldn't be as good? If that is the case, going with the YU2(USB) would be my best bet?
appreciate the review! i saw some videos about creative's katana v2 lately and im wondering should i get the katana v2 or kanto's yu4 ,, may i know which one do u recommend?
Hm... If you have the space to properly set it up, i would go for the Yu4s. I personally hate soundbars except for higher end stuff (something like the Panorama 3 from B&W) because they tend to just fall a little short for me, that being said, I haven't actually gotten my hands on the katana 2, so please take this with a grain of salt.
hello, I have currently dual Sonos One SL in stereo and love sound from them. But I would like have speakers with 3.5jack for pc too. So I would like to ask if Kanto YU4 have better or at least the same quality sound like Sonos 😊
I've only heard the Sonos One SL as a solo speaker, not in stereo. Now, when it comes to audio, things are pretty subjective. From what I remember, the YU4 should give you a little more bass extension into the lower bass frequencies. Other than that, the YU4 is capable of getting louder as well. Feel free to check out the speaker sound tests linked in the description so you can have a better idea of how these sound like.
Yupe I want to know more about the stands.. I am using the Audioengine HD4 and are looking at Kanto option stand because audioengine rubber stand is kinda "meh".
Yea I actually told them about this. Cuz it makes more sense for the Yu2 to have Bluetooth since it makes for a more manageable desktop pair for students and young adults who are more tech savvy
@@MOBHouse KALI IN-8 V2's. Actually my bad because I thought Amazon had them on sale $199.50 / each. Nope. They lied. Old school and yes you can get 2 ways to sound good but without a midrange and a flat wave, you can't really get the full range. Check out the KALI line. They have great monitors that perform way over their $ value.
These are 8 inch speakers that cost double where I'm from at about $1,000. I doubt anyone who are shopping for desktop speakers like the ones I reviewed have the desk space or budget for them.

It's great for the price but I still suggest u get the Sub to add a little more low end if u have the space and moolah to spend
Did you end up liking the yu2's? Looking into buying a set now and would love to hear your thoughts after a year.
Damn feel like selling my Sonos Five (Latest Gen) for the YU 6. Just for the true stereo separation.
Good to have Malaysian speaker reviewer 🤩
These will sound superior to Sonos Five for sure. Especially the YU4!
This video is 2 years ago but I just bought a pair of Yu4. Loving it since the moment I plugged it in.
For the price, it's really a nobrainer
How usable is Bluetooth on YU4? Is there a noticeable sound quality loss compared to wired input? Is there any noticeable delay or lag?

A huge upgrade from the pebble for sure. I just feel that the YU4 has a fuller sound. But yes the YU2 will work well in smaller setups.
Nice video production and I really like the lighting on your video
Thanks brother!
Great review! Picked these up and love them. Keep it up bro
thanks brother!
Love my YU-2 bamboo. Also love my YU-6.
Yu 2 is better than the audio engine a2 which I absolutely hate. I find the Yu4 to be a good middle ground. I'm using the TUK myself.
Great review. Def liked and subscribed. Wondered if you were still happy with your YU2s in 2023?
Loved your review and sense of humor. What equalizer program are you using
LMFAO!! Loved the U2 reference!! I always think of that when I hear YU2 speakers.

Awesome job. I've got the Yu2 but I think I'm going to return and get the Yu4...
Haha awesome!!!!
Using Razer nommo chroma currently , is it worth to upgrade to kanto yu2 ?
I've never liked any of the Razer audio stuff. But.... I must say this, a balanced sound might not be best for competitive gaming if your ears are not super sensitive to the treble and upper mids range.
Can I reverse the left / right speaker positions? My power source is on the right side of the room.
In Canada the YU6 is almost the same price as the YU4 so I will go with the bigger when I can.
Space is a big concern. If your room is not huge, the YU4 is more than enough for near field listening. I'd spend the extra cash on the Sub instead.
Is there any hissing at low or high volume? Is there any hissing with no music playing and volume is down vs all the way up? Is there any hissing with nothing connected to them and volume is down vs all the way up?
No. There ain't. These are speakers. Not a cat.

I had the YU6. Yes there is a hiss on them when no music but can't hear it when music is played
Can I hook up a Dayton Sub 8 with the YU2? If so, how?
bro thank you, i was looking for something better than audio engine.. you speak canto too ? haha that's cool
i speak hokkien, canto and mandarin!
No USB on YU4 is a bummer. Srsly why 2 optical and not one of each?
I know right?
Very good review. Subscribed.

can anyone help. I have a MAC mini-

Yu2 for sure

My pleasure
Thank you for you nice video. Yes, I would like to have a tutorial how to set them up (as desktop speakers). Thank you in advance!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I have a nice dac, could you use them without their dac?
Of course, just use the analog inputs
Did you ever hook a sub up to the yu2's?
not yet. but I would still prefer the Yu4 because of the overall fuller sound from the lower mids extending towards the bass
but of course, if u don't have the desk space for it... the yu2s are not too shabby

I bought Kanto YU and that was amazing decision. I cant believe how good they sounds for that price :) (300$)
will these hook up to a macbook air via USB type c? or only via AUX?
The Yu2 comes with usb. The yu4 only comes with optical so you would need to use the aux or.... Bluetooth
@@MOBHouse thank you I’m looking for one I can connect via USB and deliver clean signal. Budget is 500 so hopefully find a sub to add to these!
when comparing sound try playing the same song through both speakers
