- Lesson on Bile Acid Synthesis Pathway: Classic and Alternative Pathways, Primary and Secondary Bile Acids and Bile Salts. Bile acids are produced from cholesterol in the liver. Primary bile acids are produced via the classic and alternative bile acid synthesis pathways. Primary bile acids can also be conjugated to amino acids like glycine and taurine, which aids in bile acids ability to emulsify fats. Furthermore, primary bile acids can be processed by bacterial enzymes to form secondary bile acids.
Hey everyone. In this lesson, you will learn about bile acid synthesis via the classic and alternative pathways. You will also learn the chemical structural modifications of cholesterol that occur to produce a primary bile acid. Furthermore, you will also learn the differences between primary and secondary bile acids, and bile salts and why it is important that we conjugate amino acids to bile acids during synthesis.

This is the best description of Bile acids by far on youtube. Keep up the good work. Thank you
Thanks a lot ! Correction for bacterial 7 alpha dehydroxylase rather than hydroxylase
Best videos on the youtube!!
شكرا جدا ليك ي دكتور 💓💓
Best video on youtube! Seriously
you are the best EVER!!!!!~!!!!!!!!
Very helpful sir, thank you so much🙏🏻
very easy to understand. thank you!
very helpful thanks
Thnks
Vitamin c deficiency can cause bile salts deficiency????
Excellent!
Glad you liked it! :)
What happen to secondary bile acid?
Very informative
Shouldn't the bacteria have 7 alpha dehydroxylase not hydroxylate?
the secondary bile acids, do they form inside the gallbladder? Or in duodenum?
Can you point us to the video on enterohepatic circulation?
Can u conjugate secondary bile acids?
Thanks
thank you easy to understand
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you sir.. But I have a question please why hydroxile group attached to 3 7 and 12 carbon? Why not to others carbon.. And also why bacteria act their what they got from here please help
What's the fate of these Deoxycholic acid & Lithocholic acid?
Thanks . Very helpfull :)
Sir any video on cholesterol structure ?
Great
thankkk you so much!!
awsome!!!
Why if the bile acid is increased, it will happen cholelithiasis?
Would be v interested to know if statins affect this process if anyone has any info?
Bile acid accumulation can lead to stony liver
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
love u babe
ilustrate mitochondria in a separate graph for the alternative pathway; and the bile acid is for FXR and G-protein signal trnsduction--the four points you illustrate for the Purpose lacking insight-and the p450 enzymatic reactions need be detailed of how they act on the hydroylaation steps,
