This is a Nightwish masterpiece for "advanced listeners".🙂 Very demanding and wonderful at the same time. It gets better and better every time you listen to it.
It helps a lot, if you share the interests of Tuomas.
This is what unconstrained genius looks and sounds like. Tuomas is a visionary and he does exactly what he pleases and goes wherever his muse takes him. It's on us to keep up and follow along. That he leaves many behind is no surprise. This... this composition is fucking epic. And it's as deep as the Marianas Trench.

There were only three shots where CGI was used with the diver: the anglerfish, the whale skeleton and the school of fish at the end. All other diving shots are real. Yes, including the whales.
Sure, the hyena at 6:30, the eagle carrying a deer or owl spinning its head look totally shot for real. And the library shots with band members were practical effects, too, because ghost of Tuomas can make books levitate and Jukka has hands made of smoke. May you should check the documentary series called '"NO CGI" is really just INVISIBLE CGI' here on RUclips?

The hyena is indeed real, but the mountain is not. The eagle is real too, but the deer and landscape are not. The owl is real, but the branch is not, and the head spin is... let's say "slightly enhanced".
The book actually **was*** a practical effect, pulled from the shelf with a fishing line.
The library shots themselves are also real, and the books, skeletons and other artifacts including the original Darwin's finches from the journey of the HMS Beagle are real museum pieces from the Tring museum of natural history. This said, there are things added to the library shots that are not real, but less than you probably think.
PS: "NO CGI" is really just INVISIBLE CGI is easily my favourite series of YT videos in a long while.

The book was a real practical effect shot at the library - oldest trick in tghe book (pun intended), it was pulled from the shelf with a fishing line.
The museum library and the specimens, skeletons, books etc. in it are also real, including the priceless original Darwin's finches from the HMS Beagle journey. There are things that are not real that were added, but less than you probably think.

Tuomas stated they used 3 divers to shoot all of the underwater visuals. hopefully there will be other releases between now and September. All the Best gentlemen.

We know what to expect from Nightwish and Tuomas, so we should NOT BE SURPRISED, yet I for one was absolutely floored, mind blown again 🤯 There has never been, there will never be another Tuomas Holopainen / Nightwish ❤️🔥
Greetings.
So let's start with this album being the final book in a 3 part series.
The first was "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" released in April 2015, "Human :Ii: Nature" released in April 2020, and "Yesterwynde" to be released in September 2024.
The theme of the series is life and evolution.
FYI; Tuomas was studying to be a marine biologist before forming Nightwish, and developed a love for it which carried well into the foundation of the band. This is why many of his lyrics hint of waterfalls, seas, oceans, or water in general. Even live, he designs the lighting to give the feeling of being inside the ocean depending on the song. The background visuals are also set to show some type of water scenery.
But something tells me Tuomas had a lot of fun coming up with the visuals for this video.
Unfortunately, the word is that they're not going to tour in support of this album.
Or at least there is no word yet on when they will begin touring again. This actually explains the late album release (Sept. 20).

The ups and downs, the pah-pah..pah-pah (A minus - G minus _ B minus - F minus is a leading threat from beginning to end. The choir in the beginning, piano following, in Floor's chorus, in Emppu's rifs, the harp and when Troy sings, the choir picks these notes up again. This is superb composing. Swimming footage is free diving (because you don't use O2-NO2 mix to inhale), free divers can dive as deep as 110 meters and don't have to decompress. Floor is a free diver too. Thanks guys!

In my opinion the epicness of the video is phenomenal. This story is fascinating - one of the best things they have done. The song fits also… and yes, the message is soo deep, I will need a lot more time to realize all metaphors…

A great honor for them both considering their love for biology.

Surprisingly many fans have said that they don't like the mix because Floor's vocals are too silent for their taste. You obviously liked the mix at 11:30.
I think they were just a bit too impatient to complain. The earmind can decode the mix after a few listens. Many have said the pieces fit together much better for them now after some time. That was my experience as well.
All those ancestors are the "curious ghosts" wondering how the family is doing these days. (Wouldn't you be?)

Many will only suggest live as it is more likely to be Floor singing as fewer recordings of Tarja live and virtually none of Anette live is worth listening to.

Why, it's a reaction video, it didn't seem bad to me, he did say it was a bit late to pause, but the drums pulled him in🇬🇧
Slow, boring, the mix is not well achieved.
Slow is not the problem, but indeed it is boring, poorly mixed and stinks (“perfume”, lol) of self-plagiarism.
