Im native Pecos Tx, just thinking someone so famous was my next door neighbor gives me chills and makes me so proud. People talk about what a nice and polite guy he was. This is good old fashioned bringing. 😊😊
In the 1980 feature movie Living Legend: King of Rock and Roll, Roy recorded the soundtrack album and provided the singing voice for the lead actor Earl Owensby.
I can close my eyes and listen to his music and I am back in those wonderful days........☺️
I remember sitting by the lake, swimming & “pretty women” playing on my portable radio constantly. It was a good summer.
I may be a living legend, but that sure don't help when I've got to change a flat tire. Roy Orbison ·
Another great Vlog...thanks!
Well done Jordan! Roy, like Elvis, came from an obscure place in America and rose to be a legend. From dirt to diamonds - thanks Roy - you are so missed! As is Elvis!
Loved Roy one of the best singers ever I had the privilege to see him perform when he came to UK I was really saddened to see his grave unmarked
My mom loved Roy. When she was cleaning or driving she had pasty cline or Roy playing on her stereo..💜 every video is so detailed and always a joy to watch.
I love each of these Ty dear.
Love his music and I have been lucky enough to know his first cousins that went to the same church as I do. They all resemble him and sing just like him. Wonderful family. Thanks for this vlog Jordan!
I have lived in the United States all my life and I love these travel vlogs of the United States we have so much more to offer than any other country
Have you been outside the country at all?
@@DazewithJordantheLion yes first time Manchester England my senior class trip 1989 was my first one and then I have been to Australia three times in the late 1990s
I never really knew who Roy was until 1984. In 1984 I worked for a night club in Denver, Colorado where he performed at. I went with my boss to pick him up at the airport. I was blown away by his music later that night. Roy gave me the Best Of Roy Orbison album and signed it for me.
Roy had a tragic life but it made his music all the better.I can remember listening to his music in the 60`s and really digging it.He will always be remembered..
I had no idea what a great illustrator Roy was. The museum was wonderful, so many interesting things to see. Wow looking through Roy's sunglasses what a treat.
Excellent vlog. Such an incredible voice and beautiful songs. Thank you Jordan!
I am glad you did this one. Hopefully that town won't go under and become a ghost town. Glad you are helping keep the museum and town on the map.
"She's a Mystery Girl" is one of my favorites that he sang. His songs just hit you when you least expect it....
Roy Orbison's voice still reaches right to the heart of my soul. He turned the word "crying" into six divine syllables, forever transformed. What a voice! So happy to have heard him, as growing up to his music gave a way into another, more beautiful dimension. Heaven sent. Thank you for bringing the Wink here, Lion Man. ❤
He will live on through his music . Really interesting vlog thank you so much Jordan ! :-)
I am 37 and i grew up listening to Roy Orbison , Elvis , 60,70, and 80's music. Me and my younger sister had a really good childhood dancing around the house listening to records with Mum and Dad listening to all the time greats . This vlog brang back my great childhood memories thanks Jordan and Brock . In memory of Roy .
I always loved Roy’s songs! Thanks Jordan!
Perhaps this is one of the reasons why he was so humble in life in everything he did.
He came from such a small, humbling town, and all the stuff that happened in his life!!!
Thanks for sharing this, this was great!!!
Thank you SO much Jordan. I absolutely loved RO and this was a big surprise. It made me wish I had a spare billion$$$ so I could open a factory there - - - and a grocery store and a drug store and a medical clinic and a movie theater and.... "if you build it, they will come"
This or the Buddy Holly Surf Ball Room has to be my favorite. This was actually the first episode I watched because I wanted to learn more about Roy and then I watched this and got hooked, thanks Jordon
It was Hendersonville TN, and yes Johnny Cash lived right next door... I grew up there
Well, this 4 year old video just popped up and I am subscribed. I found Roy to be one of my favorite singers back in the very early sixties with "CRYING". In the 70's I purchased and still have an original MONUMENT LABEL 33 1/3 double album, Roy Orbison's greatest hits. I own a 1961 Seeburg AY160 Stereo Jukebox. Holds 80 records (45 RPM) X 2 sides = 160 songs. Two in there by Roy "California Blue" and "IN Dreams". Another he wrote and had a huge hit with is in there too but my copy is the covered version by Linda Ronstadt "Blue Bayou" . Thanks Jordan, the museum small but big in heart.🤩🤩🤩
I live where he was born! The people love him here!
I'll go to Vernon at some poiint
That's was so interesting Jordan, Roy Orbison songs have always been around, when i was growing up, on the radio, tv, never knew anything about his life, no wonder he became a kind of recluse after loosing his sons and his first wife, total tragedy, glad he found someone to share the rest of his life with later, the museum, i hope after your vlog which was excellent, brings many visitors, and some much needed buisness, Thankyou that was a fab vlog, goooodbye xxx 😀
I met Roy Orbison at an awards banquet in Nashville, Tennessee. He just shook my hand and we exchanged a few words but he seemed like a very humble and gracious guy. He did have a wonderful voice. Nice vlog, Jordan. I think it's important to remember people like Roy.
Hi Jordan verry nice vlog Roy Orbison was one of my fav. lionheart for life Love to the Jahster.
This was amazing Jordan. Roy Orbison is one of my all time favorite singers. Elvis being the first of course. All the greats from the 50 and 60's died so young. I am so blessed for my family and you in my life. You give so much enjoyment in my life with your vlogs. I have learned so much from you with all the history and for this I will always be grateful. You definitely have a gift. God Bless you and always protect you on your travel's. Much love to you and Jah
I loved this video, Roy was probabaly my favorite songer, no one had a voice like him. Thanks Jordan
Like the shades..This is another great vlog.. Enjoyed learning facts about him.. He was one of The Greats that's for sure... Thank You Guys And Be Safe!!
Welcome to my home state, Texas! Enjoy, Jordan and Breck! 😎💯🎶
Your about a three hour drive to Lubbock Texas to the Buddy Holly Museum. Can't miss it, has a huge pair of glasses in front!
I made this a week and a half ago
Oh Jordan, this meant so much to me! I remember the music video the traveling willburys did after Roy passed. It shows Roy's guitar and glasses on the train seat. Thanks from the bottom of my heart! 😎🕶
When Roy and his teen band mates performed on KMID-TV here in Midland, TX on Saturday evenings, my mother would turn off the TV. His nasally voice while singing Oobie Doobie would annoy the heck out of her. From then on she would refer to Roy as Oobie Doobie . For her 80th birthday I hired a Roy Orbison impersonator. She got a big kick out of the joke. Roy actually lived here for a time and got his big break here when Elvis and Johnny Cash invited him to perform with them at a couple of concerts at Midland High school in the mid-1950’s. Roy also co-wrote ‘Only the Lonely’ when he lived here. I happen to be a big fan of his singing, unlike my late mother, God rest her soul.
Wow,so many positive waves.😎
There will never be another Roy Orbison. He was one of a kind!! Great vlog Thanks Jordan and Breck 👍🏻❤️
Such wonderful ballads, and that voice! The first record I ever bought was his "Oh, Pretty Woman" on Monument Records -- I still have it. If you haven't already, you need to watch and listen to his Black & White Night on a proper home theater system, full throttle.
Thanks, Jordan, for a most excellent vlog!
Thank you. Yeah, that is a great one!
Another good one! Thank you Jordan.
Roy orbitson a great person a singer a great blog thank you Mr Borden
Jordan, this was a great, interesting piece. I love Roy and his music. I wish you would sing one of his songs along with your guitar.
And now I'm cryyyyying over Roy!
One day I will visit Roy's hometown and Museum in Wink Texas and also his birthplace in Vernon Texas!!!
Love Roy Orbison’s voice and songs! Had no idea that his life was filled with so much tragedy. Thanks so much for this tribute. So cool seeing the museum and his rose colored glasses. His glasses look great on you. Thanks Jordan fantastic vlog today!
A former band mate of long ago went on to become a back-up singer for Roy's touring band in the 1980's. She said he was completely genuine in his kindness and very unassuming about his amazing talent & gift. That gift keeps on giving! Thanks for this great vlog - It will surely bring many new listeners to his music.
Those are some cool sunglasses. Roy Orbison had such a beautiful voice. This was such an interesting vlog. Thank you! Give Jah some belly rubs!
Yesterdays video Roswell and Roy Orbison today, two really excellent videos. Your videos show more detail than others which make them interesting to watch like Roswell, I've never seen downtown Roswell. Love Roy Orbison.
Love your vlog, I grew up in the 60s n my parents played in a band,n I played drum's,n can remember always playing to him,Patch Cline, thank you for bringing back such good memories that family Life, takes us so far away from our past.
there will NEVER be anyone like Roy Orbison again.
oh mercy!! ;0 ohmigodzz jordan, TY so Very Much for covering my grammy's favorite ... :)) she =loved= roy... and all the others she claimed to have seen in that 'pre-amplified' era of rock-music (jerry lee, roger miller, even elvis i think!) back at the county fairs, way back when pre-60's!! really touches my heart to see the history of these folk... :) p.s. blows my mind that 'you got it' was posthumously released?!? that one sounds sooo 'in the day' of his best early work!! bittersweet... but, i'd hafta think... ;0 roy wouldn't want it any other way!! :) (plus, couldn't have anything to do with a few of the beatles being fans of you?? ;0 and pushing ya as friends to come back out onto the stage?? ;0 omg... =what a life= that man had!! :) ... coming to the end of your viddy... "i'm cryin'!!" ;0 happily, of course!! :) allll those wonderful memories in that museum... :)
Awesome museum for Roy Orbison , I am very surprised at the great collection they have ! Great vlog, I am so happy you have this documented because Wink doesn't look like they have much going on.

Wow!!??? what a fantastic video.I have lived in San Antonio,Tx all my life and I don't know where Wink Tx is.I saw a video of Roy's boys and they look like him. I love his songs.my favorites are Crying and Lelia. Have you ever heard Crying with Roy and KD Lang. Fantastic, look it up on RUclips. Keep up the good work.
I remember him telling the story about why he started wearing Sun Glasses years ago, he had left his glasses on the plane or motel room, not really sure now, but anyway, he had a show to do that night and with all the bright lights they have on him and in his face he knew he needed to protect his eyes, so he borrowed a pair of sun glasses from someone and went on stage with them on, and History was made, the people loved his new look and he did too, and had his own glasses made to look like shades, Well, you did it again my friend, another great vlog i truly enjoyed because this one i grew up with, but never really knew too much about Roy, but you bring it all together for me, thanks again,
Another great Video Jordan keep them coming..!!
I grew up listening to Roy Orbison, loving his music. One of the greats! The museum is awesome, so many things and I never knew about his tragic losses. Good for you Jordan going to Wink and vlogging about this wonderful man Roy Orbison. I hope the people of Wink will be safe from the sinkhole. Great moment for you trying on his glasses. Thank you Jordan
Wow. Just wow! What a fabulous video!! Love "Pretty Paper" (written by Willie Nelson), and is my fave Christmas song. Only other guy that can do a decent falsetto is Chris Issak.....have seen him many times. He does a mean rendition of Only the Lonely. It's a shame Wink is fading away, seems like a sweet town and the Museum is the best!! Thanks Jordan!
Hey Jordan ,thanks for that vlog ! I really enjoyed that !
My wife was born in the same hospital as Roy, years later. It's torn down. Vernon pays homage to Roy too!
Such a beautiful voice Roy had. My mother just loved him. Pretty Woman was a great song. Sink holes can be incredibly scary. Thank you for another great vlog. Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤❤🦁
Roy Orbison was very unique in his music and was done in his own way, He was truly one of musics great ones. I absolutly love the traveling Wilburys and have since they formed in 1988. I actually had to stop this vid and go watch them play "The end of the line". Ive learned a few things of Roy off todays vlog....Thank you Jordan...Very cool!
Wow, this small museum has everything! I am very impressed. I hope you will be able to return for the tribute festival one day. I have always loved Roy Orbison. I didn’t know much about his personal life, so was very sorry to hear of the personal losses he suffered. How cool you were able to try on his sunglasses. I love the Elvis shades, too! Great vlog, Jordan. The first of your Texas vlogs is awesome!
I absolutely loved this guy. Ty so much for sharing this with us and hugs and kisses to Jah for me.
I absolutely love Roy Orbison!! Phenomenal vlog bro
Another good vlog. Crying is my fav. and k d lang's rendition is just about as good!
My brother lives in midland, works in the oil fields. My Ranch is in Clifton. Don’t know why I didn’t know Roy was from Wink. Thanks for sharing.
Roy Orbison was one of my all time favorites! There will never be another voice like his! It just goes to show you not to ever give up on your dreams! They said he couldn't sing and Elvis should go back to driving a truck! Thank God they didn't listen!!
Hi Jordan I’m going to try to go see the Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly hologram show when it comes to Tulsa in October!
I can't believe you went to Wink. Tx. I have 5 acres there on the Pecos River. Received a tax bill yesterday that I better pay before they go broke. Great vlog that really brought a smile to my face.
Hi Jordan & Breck, what a lovely little Museum and such a wonderful memorabilia. Such a shame how the town is deteriorating, sadly quite a few places are like that now. Great vlog Jordan.
I live near his home outside of Nashville Tennessee in Hendersonville Tennessee it’s owned by John Carter Cash and he also owns the Johnny Cash lake house that burned down about 10 years ago
Hendersonville, sorry about that.. I said henderson.. I have a mutual friend of John Carter that hopefully might be able to let me see them.
I live in the same area with Mark Fun Jones but Roy house is next door to John Carter Cash estates I literally two miles away from my house
You’ve covered a lot. Your mind is always working. Hope you have completely moved to the east coast and find new projects to vlog.
Well, now you're getting into my age group. Really liked his music. Miss Jah.....know you do.….love.
Incredible vlog Jordan. I was raised in West Texas, in a small town near Lubbock. Loved Roy too. My mom always played his records. Learned a lot of cool facts from this vlog, but then again, I do from every vlog you post. We appreciate all of them! And of course, we miss Jah!
Gosh, your vlogs just keep getting better and better, Jordan! I've loved every one this week. Thank you and please be safe on your travels. Best wishes from Missouri!
