Never have I clicked so fast as I did today. As a huge heart classic country fan Waylon Jennings is one of my top 5 favorites singers of all times. He was just an awesome singer and songwriter. RIP Waylon
Hi Jordan, what a neat little Museum, I thought that was a beautiful painting of him and there were some lovely photos aswell. I liked the boot prints at the end. Such a shame about some of these little towns that are in such disrepair. Great vlog Jordan.
When I was a teenager my grandfather was a home builder in Dallas. I spent the summer I was 17 working for him. We built Buddy Holly's widows house that summer in uptown Dallas
Wow! This was really the icing on the cake for me. I've got to admit that I've never been much of a country music fan. But with Waylon it's different. The voice, the words, the music - it's all just about perfect! He said it best - "ladies love outlaws like babies love stray dogs . Ladies touch babies like a banker touches gold , and outlaws touch the ladies somewhere deep down in their soul."
While I lived in Virginia many years ago I worked at a toy store. A limo showed up and out walks Waylon and his son Shooter who was maybe 8 or 9 years of age. I was lucky enough to get his autograph that day and I still have it. I remember him as being very nice and taking the time to speak with the staff.
THANK YOU for this!! Absolutely love Waylon!! Discovered him in the 70's. I also like him more than Willie or Johnny. For anyone who's mostly into rock like me, just take a listen. He'll grow on you. Great song of his with a catchy beat... Are you sure Hank done it this way.
What a heavy cross to bear for Waylon after what he said about Buddy's plane before it flew away. I also thought that Waylon's first guitar reminded me of the one they had with Buddy Holly's stuff. I'm glad you stayed in Texas a little longer. Make time to follow your heart when you travel because you'll see some spectacular things.
So cool!!! Love that you decided to do a Waylon Jennings vlog!!! My dad was actually Waylon’s rhythm guitar player from the mid 60s-early 70s. His name is Billy Ray Reynolds. He wrote and co-wrote many of Waylon’s early hits during that era. My dad wrote songs like “It’s High Times”(you quit your low-down ways) and many more. Over the years my dad has been one of the top songwriters in the Nashville music machine. He was awarded BMI’s Songwriter of the Year several different times from the 70s-modern day. Many other artists and performers have cut my dad’s songs over the years like Johnny Cash, Tanya Tucker, Merl Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Dolly Parton, and many many others. The story about Waylon giving his seat to Buddy Holly is one most don’t know about. They actually flipped a coin for the seat but Waylon lost and sarcastically told him “I hope your plane crashes”. He told my dad that he felt so bad and blamed himself for years after that. My dad was a big part of the “Outlaw Country” movement that took many great country artists out of the Nashville Pop-Country machine and took real country music back to Austin, TX!!! You should check my dad out-he has a RUclips page.
I loved Waylon's music since 1986 when I bought a Waylon album and listened to "Ramblin' Man" and "Lonesome On'ry and Mean". I could understand his wayward ways and his own path in music and life. Amazingly gifted and talented man. Much missed.
You always cover the greatest of the Greatest, and there will never be another Waylon Jennings and you did it again, thanks for bringing this to us, I am a undieing Waylon Fan, he is my Hero, thanks for the vlog, be safe my friend, and i will be watching for your next vlog, Rest in Peace Waylon Jennings
Waylon "by God" Jennings!! The very reason i started playing a Telecaster.. He did so much for music.. Look up the story to "Waymore's Blues" It's a trip. In his partying days, rock n roller's paled in comparison lol..
I love that you are bringing attention to these small towns that could use the help of tourism. It’s much needed. Reminded me of my grandpa’s hometown of Chanute, Kansas where there is a museum for my great uncle and the Johnson’s who with Eastman Kodak flew the first safari into Africa. Keep finding the good places and going.
Glad your enjoying Texas , sun will raise and the sun will set and you haven’t left Texas yet . So much to see and do and so little time to take it all in. Waylon & Willie and few others at that time Changed the old country music sound which needed some changes bought me around for country music. Just be careful on those two lane highways for people driving in your lane head on specially on this weekend. Thanks for your appreciation for the Texas music scene....D.P.S. Out in full force..
This is certainly on my bucket list. Waylon was the man, from his incredible songwriting, remarkable guitar playing, and his rich voice he ruled music. If you wanna listen to his best stuff look up his live stuff from 75' to 79' lot of his full live shows here on YT. And he was a very underrated guitar player. His hybrid chicken pickin' style is something I've been trying to get down. Goin on 5 years trying to master it and yea definitely cant go wrong with Ol' Waylon
What made Waylon so special to me was while he was a star yet he never acted like one and was very approachable, at least that is what I heard. Same holds true with Willie and Cash and that is why no matter how much times goes by their stars will always shine brightly, all are truly one of a kinds and are all equally great in my humble opinion!

Great vlog, Jordan. Waylon has a connection with my hometown in Coolidge, AZ. He used to play at a bar called The Galloping Goose and he also DJ'd at our radio station. He said Loretta Lynn and her husband left a record of her first hit while they were driving all over to promote it. I believe he had a home in Chandler, AZ and was buried in Mesa when he passed away. Always loved Waylon's music. Thanks for going to his hometown and museum!

My Dad grew up in Littlefield and my Grandmother owned a little store in Maple. My Dad went to the same school as Waylon but about 7 years older than him. He's buried a few miles down the road in Morton. Loved Waylon's music and he definitely was a good looking man! Thank you for this blast from the past!
Thanks for helping to conjure up my memories of Waylon’s music, especially a concert with Jessi Colter in the late 1970s. His recordings were thoughtful and biographical.
Hi Jordan - I visited the museum 10 years ago - Waylon’s sister in law was working that day. I saw a garment bag on a table and asked what was in it - she didn’t know. She opened it and it was the black coat with the multi color arrows on it - I got to try it on (she told me not to tell 🥰) and Lo and behold it was actually Johnny Cash’s coat made by Manuel. She had no idea why Waylon had it. It’s a great little museum!

I became a huge Waylon fan before I new about all of the this when I was 11 years old back in 76'. I just thought it was the coolest thing to learn about this. And I thought Waylon was (and still do), the coolest dude ever ( even over Johnny Cash ).
I was at the Waylon concert in CLEAR LAKE Iowa at the SURF BALLROOM back in the 90's when he finally returned for the first time since the plane crash. I was literally 20 feet away from him during the concert, front and center....I knew Jerry Dwyer who rented to the plane to Buddy Holly and who eventually found the wreckage of the plane. RIP WAYLON

I was a dj in 1969 for a country station in St. Joseph Missouri. Our radio station brought Waylon and the Waylers his band to the Frog Hop Ballroom. This was way before Waylon let his hair grow long and it was all slicked back. He put on a fantastic show and we drank a lot of Jack. Wow what a night that was matter of fact we had Waylon in town 3 more times after that what a nice guy he was

Waylon Jennings was a great singer...i didn't know he was the one who gave up his seat to Ritchie Valens...i had a boy in my grade school class whose name was Waylon,he told us he was named after Waylon Jennings...great vlog Jordan
My brother and I were at Willies 1985 picnic in Austin. I was a 17 year old, but was a huge fan of The Highwaymen, especially Waylon and Willy. That was the only time I saw Waylon and Johnny….Kris and Willy are still with us, but I’m so glad I got to see them all together that day. Waylon gave his plane seat on Buddy’s plane that night to the Big Bopper who was feeling ill, and Waylon didn’t want him to get worse riding on the bus which was cold. One of my favorite true Waylon stories, since you’re a fan, is that Waylon actually played at CBGB’s back in its heyday of Punk music. Waylon said that he was mad as hell that he had been booked there once he got onstage and saw the crowd, who were initially less than pleasant to him. Waylon, being Waylon, told the crowd that he’s going to play his music, and that he’d whip anyones ass there who had a problem with it. The crowd left as Waylon fans. The first two letters of that club (‘C’ and ‘B’) actually stood for Country and Bluegrass, so maybe that confused Waylon’s booking manager(?).
Jordan I have been watching you for quite some time and have watched most of your videos I’ve only commented on one other I was so surprised to come across this video my mother was born and raised in Littlefield Texas and when she retired. Move back to Littlefield Texas after many many years living in Las Vegas I now live 8 miles to the west of Littlefield in a town called Amherst Texas and you were right Littlefield Texas and most of the small towns in West Texas have seen better days what a great video thank you very much and my mother’s first husband was one of the people that helped teach Waylon how to play the guitar! James and Helen Jennings wayland’s brother and sister-in-law are very good hard-working people!
As usual I really learned a lot about Waylon Jennings. He was very talented. I enjoyed his music. He and Buddy would have good together. Thank you Jordan. Enjoy yourself on the road.
Jordan this becomes my favorite v-log you've ever made thank you so very much I am going to try to visit this place and I live in California too. It blows my mind that Waylon's brother still lives in town and might be willing to talk to complete strangers about his and Waylons life. I only became a Waylon Jennings fan this year after listening to his entire catalog of music and I'm Blown Away by the volume and the depth of his lyrics. And there is something about that voice he has that resonates with me I don't know why.
I had never heard fo Waylon Jennings but I have heard of many of his songs. I just never paid attention. I just love the little museum. There seems to be these tucked away Gems where very few even know about!! I know you have said you were not as into doing an Americana road trip vlogs...but there is so much content out there!! Thank YOu Jordan!!!!!!! o,s, You are looking great! and have inspired me to go on WW but with a low carb twist. So im doin it!!
I just met Mr. Robbins today who is going to show us the museum when we call him . 07/26/22. Hope to call him soon. I saw Waylon Jennings last free July 4 weekend in 1988. I believe Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash were there too. Thanks for making this video.
Lonesome Onry and Mean!! Saw him play in Hemet at the fair I have always dug his sound, since Dukes of Hazzard, to my heroes have always been Cowboys to Rambling Man! AWESOME DUDE! GOOD VLOG
This vlog was awesome! I have a few Waylon Jennings records. And I'm also a fan of his wife, Jessi. This is another place I need to go one day! Great job, Jordan!
Waylon is my dude man. One of my biggest music influences by far. That leather case he had on his Tele throughout his entire career was made for him in PHX back in the 60s by someone who would come to his shows in what was then “Wild Bills” on Scottsdale and Shea. Now the famous Handlebar J’s , in which Jessie still makes appearances due to the owners being very old friends of hers. Funny, every older musician I played with when I started out here in AZ 20 years ago had a Waylon story. Not so much anymore as they’ve mostly died off. Another great video my friend. You’ve got great taste in film and music. We must be about the same age haha
no air conditioning I noticed the fans were running must have been hot in that part of Texas. A look of classic dust bowl towns that's how they are anymore it seems shadows of what they were.
So many great songs! I’m so glad you did a vlog about Waylon Jennings. What a neat museum. I really feel like I have come to know more about the real man behind the music. I was just listening to the song the Highwayman yesterday. It’s one of my favorites. So cool hearing you sing one of his songs. I think you missed your calling. You’re a man of many talents. Sad to see a lot of these small towns in Texas dying. Thanks Jordan such a cool vlog today!
I'm so glad you did this vlog on Waylon Jennings , because I was thinking about him when you did the Buddy Holly vlog . I love Waylon Jennings !! My favorite song he sung is ," Luckenbach Texas ", but he said he never liked that song and my favorite song Waylon & Jessie did together is , " Come with me " . I had that record and it was on a cassette tape too and I wore them out playing that song so much . lol !! Waylon said , he loved Elvis , but he knew he wouldn't be able to play in his band , so he started playing with Buddy Holly and The Crickets . He was wild for awhile there , but boy ....he could sing . You know I remember when he had diabetes , but I didnt know he lost his leg because of it . I just heard about that the other day . That is sad . Anyway.... Thank you so much Jordan for taken the time to fo this vlog !! I love it !! 👍❤ I sure would love to visit this place in person someday .

This was way before Waylon let his hair grow long and it was all slicked back. He put on a fantastic show and we drank a lot of Jack. Wow what a night that was matter of fact we had Waylon in town 3 more times after that what a nice guy he was
George Jones really meant it when he sang “who’s gonna fill their shoes”
I saw his wife Jessi with David Allen Coe in a concert in cave creek AZ she still looks amazing. I feel the same way Jordan that you do about Waylon. Thank You keep roc-kin brother. 😎🤘
Waylon Jennings was a great singer...i didn't know he was the one who gave up his seat to Ritchie Valens...i had a boy in my grade school class whose name was Waylon,he told us he was named after Waylon Jennings...great vlog Jordan
Awesome. I loved him and Buddy when I was growing up. Thanks.
Loved Waylon still listen to his music!!
Awesome - impromptu change of plans! Wonderful tribute to Waylon.
Waylon is still my all time favorite! Think I'll crank up some Waylon at work tomorrow! Great video, thanks for sharing!
I completely agree. I hope to go back and meet James Jennings in the future

Love Waylon Jennings, his son Shooter Jennings is also an awesome musician.
Kool, Jordan. I'd like to hear you sing, 'Willin'.
Awesome vlog. Thanks for hanging out in Texas a little longer. Loving the Road trip vlogs.
Great vlog and thank you for another wonderful bio! Miss you, Waylon.
Omg he is my favorite singer of all time 😎🖤
I had never heard fo Waylon Jennings but I have heard of many of his songs. I just never paid attention. I just love the little museum. There seems to be these tucked away Gems where very few even know about!! I know you have said you were not as into doing an Americana road trip vlogs...but there is so much content out there!! I know most of us will never make it to those parts of the country that have been forgotten. Thank YOu Jordan!!!!!!! o,s, You are looking great! and have inspired me to go on WW but with a low carb twist. So im doin it!!
My god I can't thank you enough for this. Thank you a million times for this!!!!
GOOD VLOG
I love when you geek out!!!! Keep going!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
My first introduction to his music was The Duke's of Hazzard theme song. I would never have guessed that was a liqueur store.
Waylon was my favorite between all the Highwaymen.
❤❤❤❤new zealand watching ❤this is awesome. He was very very handsome and charismatic all the way to early 90s ❤
Another great one Jordan. Thanks!
I know waylons brother would give 75 cent tours around littefield, showing u where Waylon grew up and all, and sometimes he would be in the store,
This vlog was awesome!
A look of classic dust bowl towns that's how they are anymore it seems shadows of what they were.
thank you for being honest
So many great songs! I’m so glad you did a vlog about Waylon Jennings. What a neat museum. I really feel like I have come to know more about the real man behind the music. I was just listening to the song the Highwayman yesterday. It’s one of my favorites. So cool hearing you sing one of his songs. I think you missed your calling. You’re a man of many talents. Sad to see a lot of these small towns in Texas dying. Thanks Jordan such a cool vlog today!
This was AWESOME! Thanks so much Jordon!
Oh wow!! I had the Dukes of hazzard theme on a 45 i played over and over when i was a kid!!!! 🤣🤣❤❤
Incredible Waylon vlog!He sure contributed big time musically.
Our Texas weather is mighty harsh.
That was truly a treat, thank you Jordan. God Bless and be safe
Ol, West Texas.. gotta love it. Smells great near Lubbock doesn’t it! Lol!
I sure would love to visit this place in person someday .
Wow JtL! Another great video! I love ALL of your videos! I would have never even known about a lot of these places if it not for you! Thanks for all you do for us!
Loved This Vlog Thanks Jordan !! Be Safe!!
Wow! You made it 30 miles away from where I grew up - Levelland, TX! Due south of Littlefield!
Thanks for this video! You just gave me an overnight road trip idea! Just sent a link to the video to my wife and said WE ARE going here.
I loved Waylon Jennings. Good hearted woman was a great song. He was a great looking man. Shooter his son is awesome too. I liked him more than Johnny cash too. Thank you Jordan. Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤❤❤🦁
