As a diehard Music aficionado. This vlog was expertly done Jordan, way to go! Due to my Mom's tune tastes. From a little girl, I grew up listening to all the 50's Artist's mentioned. But I had no idea who Norman Petty was, nor his connection. Until now, thanks to your enormous amount of expert knowledge provided. Thanks so very much! 👏
Good gosh! You are a walking, talking encyclopedia of rock 'n roll history! I had no idea who Norman Petty was nor the impact he made upon the evolution of rock 'n roll. Good going! 😊
It 's amazing to see the type of recording equipment they had during that time and the timeless songs and artists that recorded at that time. So much history to see and enjoy. Great vlog, Jordan. Looking forward to part2!👍👍
8:03 - great shot of Paul and Linda McCartney of Wings era. That's why the previous shot of Denny Laine is there I would guess, he was with Wings at the time.
Heeyyy Jordan: My Mom had a television, when I was a little kid, just like the one in-the living room scene... yikes so funny!!! Thanks to the Norman Petty for his part making musical history. Thanks Jordan! I loved today’s vlog, I’m sorta of a Holly & Orbison music freak which I picked up from my oldest brother, when I was a little kid, he played all the early hit records, he played them all day, every day... good times!!! 🥰🌸🌺🌹❤️🦄🦋👩🏻💻
Love the vlog!! My daughter lived in Clovis for a year-she loved going there! I can see why! I love all the audio gear, and all the memorabilia! Can't wait I love all history of Music and legends!! Ty for taking us along!
Love all your Texas videos Jordan, you were able to cover so many interesting people & places ! Thank you for doing this work preserving so much on line. I say this after seeing Pix of Dayton Ohio hit very bad by tornadoes. We never know when historical things are gone & we can never get them back.
Love the history , great vlog Jordan. Too bad Norman Petty died at 57 from leukemia, he definitely set the stage for some great recording artist that were legendary
This was a awesome vlog Jordan!! I moved with my mom and dad from Ohio shortly after I was born in 73 to Clovis,NM to the Air Force base there until I was 3 yrs old,my dad was then transferred to Alaska and my mom and me moved to Nebraska...I love Buddy Holly songs...cant wait for part 2
WOW, very cool museum. Many of the songs you mentioned I have heard many times. I had never heard of Norman Petty until you started sharing about the connection to Buddy and Waylon. I am looking forward to tomorrows vlog and the interview as well. Thanks for educating us Jordan. We all are learning so much.
Hey Jordan. Thank you for putting the vlog on early in the a.m. couldn't sleep. Great vlog. Lived close to Clovis for about 5 years. Didn't know about Norman Petty.✔✔✔Thank you Jordan
Hey J thank you for all this info ,i play RNR Y Rockabilly in my band The Rockets we always play Buddys hits i just subbed you keep up the good work bro Greetings from Ireland
What a wonderful museum! Everything was nicely displayed and looked to be in fantastic condition. You always ask such great questions in your interviews, so I can’t wait for tomorrow’s vlog.
Hi Jordan, WOW, so much great stuff to look at, it sure would take some time to see all that!! I love the way they have recreated the diner, studio etc, it really does take you back in time to that great era. Another great Museum, great vlog Jordan.
What a great vlog. I found out some things I didnt know. Your always so informative. I'm so glad I found your channel a few years ago. You have made a huge difference in vlogging. Keep on doing an amazing job. You are one of a kind. Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤❤🦁
Good morning Jordan, a walk back in time and I loved it. Looking forward to the next vlog. Thank you for this early morning vlog. Have a great day and God Bless as alway's and for ever Nada...
I am not sure what year this museum opened. It was not there in the 80s when I lived in Clovis. I have been in the 7th street recording studios though, and actually had the opportunity to meet Vi Petty and was invited to a more modern studio which is located in a converted theater building on Main St. She had some recording engineers in town and they were remixing a version of Everyday. This was around 1986.
Hi Jordan , This is a nice off the beaten path place to visit. " The Day The Music Died " when Buddy , Richie Valens and The Big Bopper were killed in airplane crash. Roy Orbison , a legend , a Traveling Wilbury. Cool place.
Dude! You missed Paul McCartney sitting on the ground @ 8:12. I'm pretty sure that's Eric Clapton down to the left hand side too. great vlog as usual. never knew that Bobby Vee recorded at Clovis.
So cool Jordan!! My Mom was born in Clovis NM !! Your in my old stomping grounds my Moms family is from NM and West Texas!! I wish I didn’t live in Oklahoma now we could have got together and did lunch or something!! Keep up all your wonderful adventures!!😊😊😁😁
His name became changed when the very first contract that he signed for "That'll Be the Day" included the misspelling of his name. The song was being played and DJs were using the misspelled name, so apparently Buddy decided to go with the flow. It's mentioned in a couple of documentaries about Buddy. Thought you'd be interested..
Nicely done! There must be more to the story why he wouldn’t pay buddy his money if people said he was easy to work with and was laid back🤷♀️good to know he did pay buddy’s family at least some of the money 🎯from an Ohioan
@8:08 mark you talk about the photograph and right in the center is Elton John, but in front and kneeling just to the right of Elton, is a very familiar face, but I can't quite put my finger on who that smiling chap is or who the pretty little blonde is next to him.....oh well I guess he wasn't very famous or his name would be more familiar to me.
Hey Jordan You know anything of the story where Buddy Holly’s managed... probably Norman.... bought him a car, a 1958 Chevrolet so he would have reliable transportation to gigs?
The museum is really cool. I'd never heard of Norman Petty until I saw your Buddy Holly hometown video. It seems like Buddy Holly "made" Petty and so I'm wondering what the real story is behind the fact that Petty wouldn't pay Holly for money that Buddy said was his. Was Petty a thief, or is there a second side to that story?
I can guarantee that there is another side of the story. I personally heard Norman Petty say that it would be told at some point in time. I believe it has to do with Maria Elena Holly, Buddy’s widow.
Great video Jordan. Yeah I heard the story that Norman screwed Buddy.. That's a lot of guilt on Norman mind after Buddy was killed in that plane crash.
I would like to know who the person was that said Norman told Buddy he would rather see him dead rather than give him his money?.... Did this person ever meet Norman Petty or know anything about the relationship between Buddy and Norman. I THINK NOT!
I would like to thank you for being un biased about Norman Petty. That was refreshing 🙂 Yes he withheld money from Buddy Holly which was why he did the Winter Dance Party. Maria Elena would have been ripped off if not for Joe B stepping in.
So cool museum!!!! Thank you Jordan pure class
