There’s more emotion in Anne Bradley’s eyes listening to this story than in Diane’s entire body. Her eyes are just dead and staring when she describes having to remember that night “whether she wants to or not.” The only thing more chilling is her laughing it up in the re-enactment videos only a few days after the shooting.

I read the book 20 years ago and don’t remember if this detail was true to life, but the actor has this catch in his voice and tears in his eyes.... I’m ready to cry now. And they don’t show in THIS piece but that little girl is having a hard time getting the words out because she had suffered A STROKE. That sweet little thing was expressive aphasic for months and had to re-learn to speak. I can’t. 😢😢😢

That's the kind of thing that if it was in a movie I'd almost not believe it. But think about it, by the end of the case the prosecutor probably knew the kids better than anyone else, just anyway. And like Spiderman, "with great power comes great responsibility" so like I think she kind of felt obligated to care for them even long after the monster was defeated. What a sad story.

She also said the reason she testified that her mother shot her was because that's what they wanted her to say... Friends from Kennedy Elementary School said Christie showed them a picture she drew of the "man" who shot them. Dena Reinhardt of Las Vegas, Nevada called Christie when she was in high school. Dena recorded the conversation and Christie admitted to her that she didn't know who shot her, but said in court what they wanted her to say. Sally Chambers of Banks, Oregon put that tape into writing in booklet form. A copy of that booklet was sent to Diane's new attorney in Salem, Oregon. On page 32 of that (transcribed) conversation, Dena Reinhardt continues her very long conversation with Christie "...Or do you think she really, you think she really didn't do it, huh? Christie's answer: "I couldn't tell you, I mean I don't know who did it."... Christie Downs was called as a witness to testify against her mother. Christie testified in court, "My mom shot Cheryl then Danny then me." The State had been preparing Christie for over a year and she was "the" key witness. If she buckled under pressure, it would hurt the State's case. Christie was eight years old at the time of the shooting and was nine years old at the time of the trial. From the date of the shooting until the trial, basically, all of her time was spent in the custody of the State of Oregon without contact with her mother or her or her grandparents. Her father in Arizona was allowed limited visits.

When the Interviewer got older, she admitted that they were trying to get Diane to incriminate herself with that interview. She admitted that they were happy Diane was foolish enough to show up to the Interview ALONE with no lawyer by her side and to speak with no lawyer by her side(This needed to be said twice because only an idiot would show up to speak on a national TV interview with no lawyer). She implied she knew that something was really wrong with Diane and had a deep feeling that Diane had murdered her child and injured the other two children.

I was hit head on by a drunk driver going south in the northbound lane of US101. Diane attempted to kill all three of her children and shot herself as a cover. Please find the parallel, unless you want to compare a 17 year old girl to a 28 year old mother of three. Good luck with that. Like I said I'm almost 60. The older I get the less concerned I am at calling out b.s. You've been called out. The BIG DIFFERENCE is that while I was in the hospital I didn't have two children fighting for their lives and the other in the morgue. I had to worry about my mother seeing me so banged up. Hell, when I gave birth none of my girls went to a nursery. They stayed at my side in their bassinets. And I always took them home the next day. Home was safer. I lost a niece when I was ten years old. I lost another one 34 years later to cancer. I also lost a nephew. I KNOW how it affects their parents. My greatest fear is that I will outlive one of mine. So sit smugly in your judgment. Just know it is false.

She also had zero gun residue on her and her boy in the hospital said it was a man who did it. The daughter also admitted that they coerced her. She admitted not having any memory of it. Diane could be free by now if she had admitted guilt. I think they saw how nuts she was and railroaded her. And the prosecutors adopt her children? Conflict of interest much

@@ellisdee420 the Hugi's didn't adopt the kids until THREE years after her conviction. They were in foster care during that time. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT. Read the damned book or do the research yourself. But stop spreading lies.

They threatened them to remove it even though it's 100% legal to record audio in Oregon as long as one person in the recording is aware that they're being recorded. We should be able to discuss things /opinions without being assholes to eachother. There's just so many questions that nobody seems to want to answer /look into. They admitted to having a buttload of other leads but didn't because of Diane's reactions . Diane definitely seemed to like the attention which could be that Munchausen by proxy . Who knows. There's other possibilities. Like what if she had hired someone (Jim Haynes) to do it? Nobody cared to look deeper they just wanted her. I don't believe she's the shooter. Whether she hired or someone else did it idk but I just don't believe she pulled that trigger . Jim Haynes admitted to it and had such a huge rap sheet like apparently threw his infant down some stairs and was also in a gang and was apparently paid to do hits. Either way , it's an awful thing to have happen and I feel terrible for the children. Hopefully they can find happiness,but man what a terrible thing to have happen. ..
