This is what a first rate theatre soprano should sound like!! Sierra Boggess is fantastic. May we have more and more of her singing. Thank you, Sierra.
cere tomer Sierra has done opera, and she sings beautifully! She performed at the 25th anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera in London's Royal Albert Hall. It truly is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! I know the performance is on Netflix, and I think it might be on RUclips as well.
She IS a superstar, made famous by her portrayal of Christine Daea in the 25th anniversary performance of the Phantom of the Opera, which was filmed btw. So it reached a lot more people which no doubt contributed to her fame.
I fell head over heels in love with Sierra Boggess when I saw her at the 2010 Proms with Julian Ovenden singing Rogers and Hammerstien’s songs. A magical night.
I don't think I've ever heard this song sung as beautifully as this young lady does. Terrific! I'm a US American but for world class productions the BBC Proms wins hands down. Always the best.
I wish we had a program like the Proms in the U.S. we should expose ourselves to the musical arts more frequently. We've lost something on this side of the pond.
BBC Proms is a great program but just fyi the singer, Sierra Boggess, is a very down-to-earth young American woman from Denver, Colorado. Kudos to BBC for not restricting their program to only Brits!
I’ve watched this many times and it never gets old. Sierra Boggess has the perfect theater voice for these classic songs. Pure perfection. A God given gift so generously shared by the beautiful lady.
No matter who sings this song, when you hear this, and the accompanying musical arrangement, and the choir, it's goose pimple time. Even reach for the hanky.
Sierra is very talented and beautiful. However let's not forget about the legendary performers Bernadette Peters and Rebecca Luker. Their interpretations are what inspired Sierra.
Was only introduced to sierra bogges about a year ago she is a true professional the best soprano I have ever heard just wish I could have got in to this kind of music earlier in my life glen
it was, they used it for the stepmother in the Brandy version of Cinderella as they're preparing to go to the ball and consequently forgetting Cinderella. This version seems to be the longer version, they trimmed it for the TV musical
Yes they cut it down as it was not for Cinderella, they used it because the stepmother did not have a song and they had Bernadette Peters playing that role and she is one of the best singers so they took it and reworked it to fit Cinderella
What a catch for the lucky guy. She does a great job in interpreting and delivering these wonderful old Broadway classics - Rodgers & Hart - to name but a few.
She owns the song and the stage and the audience. Thanks to RUclips and the publishers we are able to see and hear such wonderful talent which otherwise we might never know of.
I agree with the comment below! Sierra Burgess sings this with such passion and joy and better than anyone has ever sung it!!! Broadway in New York City needs to start casting her in revival musicals. She has an operatic voice. The Metropolitan Opera should be looking at her also!
I love BBC when we can get the Proms on American tv. You are so lucky to have access to this more often we can see in the US, at least on the west coast here. I am glad that I found UT!
I weave with brightly colored strings To keep my mind off other things So, ladies, let your fingers dance And keep your hands out of romance Lovely witches Let the stitches Keep your fingers under control Cut the thread, but leave The whole heart whole Merry maids can sew and sleep Wives can only sew and weep Falling in love with love Is falling for make-believe Falling in love with love Is playing the fool Caring too much is juvenile fancy Learning to trust is just For children in school I fell in love with love one night When the moon was full I was unwise with eyes Unable to see I fell in love with love With love everlasting But love fell out with me
SIERRA BOGGESS! I fell in love, I fell in love with this beautiful young lady! Wow! Sierra is totally extraordinary as a singer and is a beautiful young lady. She deserves worldwide acclaim. Once people in the United States come to know her a bit more She will be totally loved by everyone!
I love this, she is truly brilliant, and i also love Bernadette Peters, especially because of the way she put it across, this is more gentle but i still adore this
I weave with brightly colored strings to keep my mind off other things; So, ladies, let your fingers dance and keep your hands out of romance. Lovely witches let the stitches keep your fingers under control. Cut the tread but leave the whole heart whole. Marry maids can sew and sleep; wives can only sew and weep! Falling in love with love is falling for make believe. Falling in love with love is playing the fool; Caring too much in such a juvenile fancy. Learning to trust is just for children in school. I fell in love with love one night when the moon was full I was unwise with eyes unable to see. I fell in love with love, With love everlasting, But love fell out with me.
She's great, orchestra and arranging fantastic; love the all womens' chorus, but I say WOW to these 2 great composers Richard Rodgers (music) and Lorenz Hart (lyrics) Their music will live on forever. Bing Crosby once said, "...the singer is as only good as the composer."
Sarah: Rodgers & Lorenz Hart were a team late 20's & thru the 30's. Falling in Love with Love from the B'Way 1938 Show, "Boys From Syracuse. Many jazz players and singers prefer the Rodgers & Hart team. My opinion is their music was better. Lorenz Hart died in '43 - drinking problem. Oklahoma written that year with Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II. Followed shortly with Carousel '45, South Pacific '49, King & I '51. Rodgers and Hammerstein did their first movie "State Fair " in '45 (It Might As Well Be Spring) my favorite song from that movie. Hammerstein died circa early 1960's and Rodgers continued along solo, writing "Sound of Music" etc. Bing Crosby once quoted: "...singer only as good as the composer." Altho' they (singers) seem to get all the praise
This is what a first rate theatre soprano should sound like!! Sierra Boggess is fantastic. May we have more and more of her singing. Thank you, Sierra.
Absolutely! :) Recall Becca Luker (spelling) also sang this beautifully, Donald.
I could hardly agree more. I am not sure there is a voice appropriate role she could not sing. She is wonderful.

@@mikehorton6225 I so agree with you. I sing MT and opera, and Sierra is my role model.
listen to julie andrews or joan sutherland sing it.
Can't get enough of her singing. She should star in every Broadway musical, all musical movies and even some Opera.
cere tomer Sierra has done opera, and she sings beautifully! She performed at the 25th anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera in London's Royal Albert Hall. Anna Castillo Which is not an opera...
Yes, both of you are right! I know Phantom is not an opera, but the music sung in the show is similar to that which would be in an opera.
roggie harry Arm the next time it happens

This young lady is a future superstar. She has everything - a beautiful voice, she is very pretty, and her stage presence is magnificent.
Right now, for me she is the best. Being a musical theatre singer, she acts out the songs which is what I try to do.
She IS a superstar, made famous by her portrayal of Christine Daea in the 25th anniversary performance of the Phantom of the Opera, which was filmed btw. So it reached a lot more people which no doubt contributed to her fame.
Sierra Boggess is most known for her role as Ariel in the little mermaid musical and also Phantom of the opera
And how you were proved right.
She is lovely. Love , true love, is never make believe. Never foolish. It is a gift and I hope those lucky enough to have it, know it.
I think I have! At 72!
I fell head over heels in love with Sierra Boggess when I saw her at the 2010 Proms with Julian Ovenden singing Rogers and Hammerstien’s songs. A magical night.

WMJCPA So true. I have often felt the same. How I would relish the opportunity to attend an event like this in the U.S.
so she is american
BBC Proms is a great program but just fyi the singer, Sierra Boggess, is a very down-to-earth young American woman from Denver, Colorado. Kudos to BBC for not restricting their program to only Brits!
She has a way of infusing this glorious music with such genius so as to make it seem as if I am hearing it all for the first time....
Alton Grimes
To see people gathered playing good music and singing - such is joy
I almost gave her a one person round of applause in my living room! Wow! Shivers!! What an amazing talent.

Such a beautiful uplifting sensibility communicated by both the music and her voice.

Is falling for make-believe
Falling in love with love
Is
playing the fool
Caring too much is juvenile fancy
Learning to trust is just
For children in school
I
fell in love with love one night
When the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes
Unable to see
I fell
in love with love
With love everlasting
But love fell out with me
