About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

What I like about this new album is that it doesn't sound like a bunch of midle-aged men trying to hard to be young again (as other bands certainly do). The songs are mature and interesting to listen to.

Damon Albarn seems eternally young to me. He always hits his marks, but mostly because he focuses on the human condition.

Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
I remember listening to this song in the summer, but it didn't felt like summer because I was locked in my house studying for the maturity exam. This song was incredibly soothing and consoling.

To bad Damon isn't a musical trend that everyone sees nowadays. This man is a musical genius.

And so damn eclectic : Blur, Gorillaz, solo carrier, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, some nice collaborations (notably with Massive Attack, great band too), Journey to the West... Graham Coxon once said "he was immature blocking himself from everyone before he left the band" and now, during the making of 'The Magic Whip', he metaphorically took the lyrics of Damon Albarn as (in his words): "the love of Damon for train" and "how Damon likes to stare at the window while he's traveling [in trains]" so Coxon didn't want Albarn seeing just a wall of guitars on his trip and broke down all the walls between them [Coxon and Albarn]. That thought makes this song and the whole álbum even more special :')
SO GORGEOUS, such 'tender' vocals and Graham's guitar work is delicate and lovely and complements them so well. Appropriate, as it's about their friendship...:)

Graham's LOVELY guitar tones and bending highlight the sadness of the song and vocals. VERY cool.
Damon is the only artist I consistently like regardless of what he does. His works have managed to impress me time and time again, his skill in making every one of his albums sound different and still put his own personal touch on it is astounding. He is a master of musical diversity and adaptation. Gorillaz is my all time favorite band, everyday robots is in my top three favorite albums, and blur is in my top ten favorite bands.

Was searching through a modern juke box on the Southside of Chicago and picked this song out from the shadow realm. Been hooked ever since. Somehow gives me a close feeling with my little brother that passed away.

+Alejandra Estrada If you're a fan of Gorillaz I'd say start with Think Tank. It's the most Gorillaz-y sound Blur comes to (because Think Tank was recording around the same time as Demon Days). Music Is My Radar is a single that gets pretty close as well.

honestly I can't put out how beautiful this song is. there are certain songs that i would listen to and not like it at first listen but this song got me hooked the first time I've listened to it. The Magic Whip is a masterpiece

the fav song of my life since like middle school, thank you Damon, the world is blessed for having you
It was a shame this song didn't get to me the first time I listened to it. Then, I saw this live performance in a radio show where the tone of the song has lower and more mellow pace. I fell in love instantly and amazed how Damon could make every of his songs distinctive in the best ways on live.
