I've been loving all of these Naruto updates in the reading vlogs and I absolutely agree with you about Sasuke and Sakura. It just doesn't make any sense!! Some more recent anime recommendations would be Orange (shoujo, sci-fi, school life), Blue Spring Ride (shoujo), Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun (shoujo, comedy), Haikyuu! (sports, comedy), and Yona of the Dawn (shoujo, historical fantasy, action).
I LOVE the Naruto updates!!! Would love to see more discussions on it hahahah I always thought Sasuke wanted Naruto way more than he ever wanted Sakura. I'm Sasunaru shipper all the way. Sasuke is in love with Naruto and never was able to get over it

Naruto was the first anime I ever watched, over 15 years ago. It is still my favorite and when the final manga issue released, I actually cried while reading it because it means so much to me. I’m so happy to hear that you love it too!

The Daevabad trilogy is my favorite series of all time! I’ve been reading them ever since the first one came out and re-reading as I’ve waited for the next one 😂 I read Empire of Gold last week and absolutely died. It was perfection.

Shikamaru is my favorite character on Naruto!!!! Also, E-readers do help you to read more books and much faster. No joke. I used to be against them, but I read sooo much more now. Love it. Think due to the fact that you can take multiple books with you anywhere you go.

Yes!!!! I first read them in high school over 10 years ago and it has been such a wonderful experience to watch it come to life as an anime and rediscover my love for it. Such a great series!!! 😭😄

It reads really fast with lots of action
What I do is separate the book in smaller (like 10/15 pages) parts, and focus on them. And, if you can, reading with the audiobook helps read a little faster.

Those online summaries are a God send! Sometimes I don't want to re-read the whole series just to remember what happened. I think I need to read one for The kingdom of Copper as I'm finding it hard to get sucked into EoG
Literally the people who write them are a GIFT - would highly recommend reading one before EOG given the story picks up right after KoC - it helped me 100000%

My two favourite animes are Romeo X Juliet (So drama and I love every minute!) and Ancient Magus Bride. If you like Laini Taylors books you'd love Ancient Magus Bride!
I devoured The Daevabad trilogy in 1 week. 5 stars all the way. The whole series tore me up and I gained another OTP😍

I really enjoy listening to ambient sound mixer while I read. I listen to the studying at hogwarts background noise. Or sometimes I listen to a thunderstorm on the hogwarts express. It’s really cool!

I remember the old days where I had seen the entire first season of Naruto on youtube while Toonami was showing the Chuunen exam battles at the same time.

For good shojo you must check out My Next Life as a Villainess. It’s like those anime when someone gets transported into a video game, only I instead of ending up in a world of Warcraft-like game, our heroine ends up in a fantasy dating sim! Not only that but she’s been reborn into the body of the villainess and she knows that all of the storylines end very badly for her. As a result, she needs to use her insider knowledge of the game to basically make friends if she is to survive. It’s soooooo good.
Hahaha yes the fight sequences in Naruto are the best 😂 (if you look closely you also see that the drawing style changes when the episode has an important fight scene in it)

I totally agree about your opinion on fight scenes in naruto. I like the power-ups, but I really enjoyed the good ol’ hand to hand fights that made it more rough and raw.
My little monster is a great, short shoujo anime. For something newer, I totally recommend My Next Life as a Villainess.

If you want a good feel good cry/real cry cry, HIGHLY recommend Violet Evergarden on netflix. It’s beautifully animated and the story is even more beautiful.

I feel the same about Naruto, I started watching it when I was younger and then I stopped for some reason. I just now finished watching all the episodes plus shippuden a few years ago. I feel so connected to the characters since I grew up with them. I remember being embarrassed that I watched it because I thought it wasn't for girls even though I loved so much. Now I don't care , it has become one of my comfort shows to watch when I'm feeling down. The characters of the show is the best! I'm so happy that you and Clay are enjoying the series!!
I'm not sure if it's a shoujo anime but Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku is one of the best romance comedy anime I've seen so far. It has only 12 episodes. If you feel like watching it, give it a try :)

I LOVEEEE my kindle so much. I can read books so much faster on it vs a physical book. But I’m also someone who HAS to own a physical copy of a book I love 😂 so I made myself only read romances on it because typically I don’t feel a strong urge to own romance like I do fantasy.

regarding naruto, i completely get it. the ships are what ruined the show for me lol and as dramatic as that sounds, i felt crushed when i found out what the ending was bc while i stopped watching in high school, I still had a huge emotional connection with the show and the characters and I always planned on continuing... but i found out the ships in the end and my heart broke lol i'll admit part of it was also due to the fact that I had been shipping naruto and sakura since I was 13 but the other part of me was the same as you, it just didn't make sense to me. anyways, I have watched such phenomenal animes in the past several years and they've reminded me why I loved them as a kid :D some of my favourites now are FMA:B, One Piece, My Hero Academia and Haikyuu (honourable mentions: Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, Black Clover) I hope you find your next favourite soon!

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! 💕It’s a shojo manga with an anime adaptation. I think there’s just over 20 episodes (all on RUclips, dubbed and subbed). They cancelled the show after the first season, but it’s still so cute and adorable. I’ve watched it at least 4 times and plan on reading the manga, which I’ve heard goes a lot more in depth
Love the naruto content! But yeah totally agree with the Sasuke and Sakura thing. I would be happy with it if there was more from Sasuke. I’m rewatching naruto cos of you and so trying to pick up on anything at all between them and there’s little things here and there, particularly in the Chunin exams..but it’s just not enough to be at all satisfying.
My Moms pug, Hobart, is a major tugger (and a runner). I got my mom a leash she clips around her waist, that attaches to him along his back. Game changer! Now she can pick up his poop 💩 while on the walk without risking him running off down the street if she drops the leash.

I love the manga/anime series Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. It's really weird but it is a romantic comedy that I love. You can find it on Amazon Prime! For something more serious, Violet Evergarden on Netflix is EVERYTHING.
