Chris Christie responds to N.Y. Sen. Chuck Schumer's criticism on canceling ARC tunnel

- New York Sen. Chuck Schumer this morning strongly criticized Gov. Chris Christie for canceling the ARC tunnel project that would have added a new rail tunnel between New Jersey and Manhattan. Schumer, a Democrat, called Christie's choice to kill the so-called access to the region core tunnel a "terrible, terrible decision" and urged the Republican governor to reconsider. But at a press conference in Newark to announce the approval of 23 new charter schools across New Jersey, Christie responded to Schumer's criticism by saying New Jersey would not be able to afford any cost overruns on the project. Christie noted that unless Schumer was able to contribute another $5 billion dollars, he should "mind his manners on the other side of the Hudson River." (Video by Nyier Abdou/The Star-Ledger)

@RRMjr12 I speak for most NY'ers. Sen. Schumer is not garbage, he plays by the rules, and debates fairly, not resulting to insults.
the thing i adimre about chris christie is his ability to communicate where he stands on issues......he says what he thinks. the nj citizens never have to guess his postion bc he makes it clear...thats why he is respected by alot of people involved in politics hes a straight shooter.
@NerdShoobie I disagree with you, repeating everything one reads in a newspaper does not make someone smart, but I do agree that the more you read, the smarter you will get.
But the election results were in the newspaper, I think he got about 70 percent of the vote last fall.

all the money the 80 year old man saved on having his health insurance provided by the tax payers should of went into a retirement fund. I'm in a union and I don't count on what they say they are going to do for me when I retire. You know, the don't put all in your eggs in one basket idea.

I am so pissed off that Christie decided not to run for president.
These thieves deliberately make the bid for these projects too low and then jack up the price as they go along thinking that the taxpayer will just shell out some more for their pockets.

Ok, so far, Christie is my guy to vote for in the 2012 elections...if he actually runs! My guess is that he might not since the qualification to have any chance to run for president is that you have to be deceptive and mealy-mouthed. Oh, and socialist.
