So basically you can say that Insta360 is a 1080p camera (not a 5.7k one) with the extra benefit of choosing which angle from the video you want to show after the edit.
i have gp11 and x3. gp11 quality is beast but it is unreliable, it auto shutdown so u have to redo everything. while x3 offers amazing unexpected footage and it captures every moment. Most of the footages i used from x3 are the unplanned ones. gp drains battery fast, and it is harder to transfer files to pc unlike x3. I like the natural color of x3, gp is saturated.
Insta360x3 is a clear winner. I used it for 1 year now. GoPro burns battery so fast and freezes in the winter even with enduro battery. Instax3 is just so reliable I Love this product, I'd love to say that I'll never ever return to GoPro simply because insta360x3 works so well.

I love the Insta X3 and the 1 Inch, however, because I use them often, they get scratched easily so I also use GoPro cameras for rigorous activity such as MTB riding. The GoPro 12 with the Max Lens mod 2 works really well (and in my opinion has slightly better stabilization during high impact activity), but I still find myself wanting to rotate the perspective as I can with the Insta X3 while viewing and editing, lol. I'm hoping the updated version of the X3 (X4?) will have increased stabilization and higher light sensitivity. Shooting on auto works great for well lit areas, but since the stabilization is dependent upon shutter speed, auto does not always render good stabilization under darker lit tree canopies. In my use, for decent stabilization, the camera needs to be in manual to increase the shutter to 160 or higher - which also results in a darker image. It can be frustrating, but its still a good camera that will only get better as it improves.
I'm still thinking about what to buy either gp12 or insta360x3 as I will mostly use it during hiking. Any recommendation on what best for hiking?!! Thx

I am very surprised with the speed with which your GoPro Quik app responded! Mine is way to slow and it literally takes minutes for some of the videos to buffer (from the cloud). Any suggestions?

I am still so intrigued by gopro or insta360, but can't get myself convinced, why I would need them if I have a flagship smartphone (Samsung S24 Ultra) already. All I would use it for would be travel vlogs in the city or by the sea. And my biggest flex would be underwater videos (for which I will need extra cases anyways). Would it still make a difference? Would I need one of those cameras anyways?
Flagship smartphone is great! Perfect for holiday photos and videos. But your phone contains all your personal info. So if i were going to use a camera underwater, I wouldn’t risk my personal phone because all my personal stuff is at risk. I would prefer to risk an action camera for such activities and keep my phone safe
Also, you wouldn't risk your phone if you want to record while on a boat or a motorcycle. If you're not doing anything "action" related then you don't need an action camera. I also have s24 ultra. The zoomed in videos are cool.
Anyone please tell me GoPro hero 12 can we use AirPods and connect power bank to GoPro while recording? One more question is can we use media mod and connect wire mic and connect power bank charge and record together?
Insta360 already has a 1" version called the RS 1" 360. I wonder how likely they will be to cannibalize the sales of one of their other lines, but I hope you're right and they do it.

I have both insta 360 and the Dyi osmo 3 is now the 4th My experiences I almost exclusively use the Osmo the 360 rare Why ? 360 are nice and you need effort with the app. Furthermore, the 360 is very very sensitive, there is a small scratch and you can see it immediately in the picture and the replacement takes a few weeks the Osmo 3 and 4 are better What can be a big disadvantage is with the 360 Insta in single mode (the new smartphones take nicer photos In the dark the 360 insta is almost unusable (very strong noise) The Osmo 4 has much better image quality in single mode and produces more natural colors and much sharper When it gets warm outside and you're running in little wind, the Insta 360 has the advantage. The Osmo almost never switches off after about 15 to 20 minutes When it's not so warm, both of them always last Both are good in terms of stability I prefer the osmo4 in everyday life The effects of the 360 are great in the 3 meter stick (but as described above the effort involved in the sensitive lens and in single mode the 360 is at a disadvantage I only use the 360 occasionally and only when the sun is shining
GP has way better resolution. It's not obvious on a small screen like a phone but when viewed on a computer monitor or TV, the difference is huge. The 360 is def more convenient and fun but not so much when those lenses get scratched up. That's when you'll appreciate the replaceable front lens of the GP.
ive got both of those cameras ... your settings for gopro are not the best .. picture quality on gopro eats insta for breakfast :D for mtb i love my gopro =]

Is x3 really waterproof? I know gopro isn't, mine died due to water damage. Now I'm looking at getting x3.
GoPro is 100% waterproof. Been diving with it a dozen of times.
Depending on the activity, I use both cameras because I love both of them.

X3 is more robust than GoPro when it comes to software. I have definitely experienced glitching / freezing a lot more with GoPro

insta360 x3 video resolution after reframing is not good.hopefully they make upgrade on x4 with better and sharper video quality after reframing.
The 1-inch 360 is pretty good. But Leica Lens on x3 will make the cost much higher. Hopefully there is new technology to help achieve a similar result
