Mitsubishi Pajero
Customer complaint vehicle will not start
As you can see the first thing we need is to plug the car in to see what fault codes came up and there is no communication with the ECU but this does not mean it's game over do your simple obvious checks and as you can see even though we had no communication with ECU we still managed to fix this
Yes I would like to find out exactly what the no.com issue is but the customer didn't want to spend any more money so my hands were tied Авто/Мото
Hi Leon! Great job! I love how you solved the issue with good old common sense. Just a small tip, I own an MK3 Pajero, 2001. To communicate with the ECU, you need another scan tool all together, an MUT-ii or MUT-iii, which is a Mitsubishi Proprietary Protocol. I hope this helps other people. I suffered so much before discovering this. It makes a world of difference.
aww leon that was brilliant loved how you diagnosed it fingers crossed that the customer goes ahead with the work great video pal
Yes mate we will see if I do I will film it
Glad to see you back! Thanks for a great video.
Thanks mate
Glad to see you back mate. Cracking vid👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate

Sometimes the basics are the right way to go. Nice one Leon.
Yes mate often is the case
I have a Montero LTD (2001). Just started having the same problem on it. I remember seeing the limit switch on it before... Pulled out center console, had hard shifting (just as you did)... Couldn't start it until I got it into N. just like you. But today was so hard to shift after got it into N that it wouldn't go into drive! So, used my caveman tool (hammer) and tapped the lock spring back to the D position. And was able to drive away safely. So, in case anybody has a Montero LTD it works almost the same exact way, keep a Phillips and hammer in your ride!
Nice to see you back in action on yt
Thanks mate
Years ago I jump started my old proper Mini from my works Renault Master, resulting in a start no crank, made me realise the benefit of a good sized battery!
The joys of vehicles lol
The legend is back 👍👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks mate
Good to see your back fella 👍🏻
thanks mate
Nice to see you're back.
thanks mate
Great to see you back mate :-)
Thanks mate
Great vid Leon 👍i remember working on the old mitzy's when i first started years ago 2.8td delica with a blown head gasket
Oh yes I don't think I've ever seen one of them without a blown head gasket lol
Most of the 2.8's suffer with cracked heads more than head gaskets. Due to when flushing the cooling system, people forget the coolant drain plug next to the oil filter, so part of the cooling pathway gets blocked. Also due to people using the wrong coolant in them. It must be OAT free or it'll clog the system up quicker
glad to see you back .. sort it!
Thanks mate
Hi There Thank you for the video. I am having the same problem with my 03 mits montero limited 3.8l auto 4wd. it cranks but won't start. Things I did was, Scanned but no codes, so I changed both Crank and Camshaft sensors, I also changed spark plugs and it still crank but no start. My question is Can I perform the same testing you did with your montero to check if fuel filter or pump has and issue?
Well done finding the problem. It is possible that the vehicle is not OBD2 compliant, even though it has the standard port! My old '98 Toyota Avensis was the same. I used the paper clip trick on that, which made the EML flash Morse code style. But beware, if the wrong pins are connected, it could short and blow the diagnostic port fuse, if protected.
Hi mate not in this case as it did talk to some of the modules I checked OBD and OBD2 still nothing some problems on way but he would not let me fix it
Nice one, won’t be able to do that with anything more modern alas.
You will be surprised what you can do even with modern cars with some common sense thinking I've seen a lot of videos on my channel where you don't need fancy oscilloscopes and wiring diagrams to find faults on Modern vehicles
Old school :-) Love it.
No school like the old school
sorted . welcome back
Thanks mate
Nice one Leon!
👍👍👍
Thanks mate
It’s kind of a Good job you didn’t have a wiring diagram could have sent you in the wrong direction for abit. I’d have most likely gotten caught up with no comms. Great find and remembering to always check the basics great video!
Yes mate I was thinking the same thing just as well LOL
Well done, Leon.
Thanks mate
4d56 in a 3.2 4m41 wow awesome! 🤗🤗🤗id love to convert mine as well😊

Hey Leon nice job lad!!!
Thanks mate
Was just looking back on ur tools box tour did u ever make that video on how u made pressure transducer
Videos coming mate
Great job...sorteddddddddd!!!!!
Thanks mate
Good video mate. Leon did you ever make that video about running a car with no engine or gearbox oil, to see which one would be destroyed first?
Yes mate all coming up
In my case, when I put Diagzone MD OBD Scanner into my Pajero Dakar,
it show that the the EGR valve is blocked
It seems that it might be from the filthy PertaLite and BioSolar used most of the time
The DIesel Filter does it jobs but its built up quite T H I C C inside the engine
Funnily enough, it took at least more than 20 times starting the car.
It randomly decide to start, but you need to go to the nearest mehcanic soon as you can while the vehicle move and parked it on the most convenient spot for them to disambled to EGR Valve and do deep thorough clean up
Hi,
I just changed my spark plugs.
After changing thr spark plugs the car does not start.
What may be the cause please?
Regards.
Hi, I just got a Mitsubishi with 6g72 e.c.u 2005
Am looking for a wiring diagram if it's possible
Please help
I have a 1985 pajero diesel and it wont start...at this point I am thinking about replacing the whole body on a "noncustom paid" chassis with motor and transmission...but I would love to fix it up to feel one with it...
A really common problem on these mk3 Pajero's is that the fuel filler pipes rust/rot. This gives all sorts of crap in the tank. On the 3.2 diesels this usually results in a knackered fuel pump at a cost of over £1500. I believe this one has a 2.5 diesel so hopefully the pump is not as fragile as on the 3.2
BTW, most Autel's will talk to the engine ecu, like the MS908
Looking at it again it's definitely a 2.5 4d56 engine and even looks like it has a mechanical fuel pump (so no engine ECU at all). Never seen this in a mk3 as in UK they are all 3.2DiD's
How is this possible? Pajero ck with a 4d56t engine? This should be a 4m41
had, similar problem, the engine speed sensor got loose. inserted it back and every thing was fine
👍💪👍💪👍
Mitsubishi love lion amazing great nice best ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Whats the name of the diagnostics machine?
is this Direct or indirect injection
Whats the name of the scan tool?
Nothing like simple! 😀
Yes simple is always the best way no point overcomplicating things
only one sound channel my friend
Thanks mate
@@bodgitandleggitgarage sorry, you want it right tho lol
thanks
You're welcome!
Looks like he filled the tank with toffee 🤣
lol
Somewere in the middle (sizzle)😯
Lol
IMPORTANT IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MMC-manuals.ru is a russian site witch has a lot of diagrams of Mitsubishi, i have wirings until 2002, maybe there are new uploads of new diagrams, in some countries the pajero is called montero
Leon them mitsys are well known for the fuel filler neck pipes rusting out and all the shite going in the fuel tank
Yes mate will have to see I'm aware of these problems I'm not sure if I get the job to do it though
You're scanning a 4M40 engine? LOL!
My prediction, for what it’s worth, which is nothing at all, is the bottom of that vehicle is covered in shite an inch thick and it’s rotted the fuel pipe and let in air as well as rusting up the filter. I bet the tank is about 2 thou thick and you can put a finger through it.the gauge is showing fuel in the tank so I don’t think it’s holed through yet. Let’s see.... 🤔
Hopefully we'll get the job and we will find out
great olde jeep anyway the ecu is olny there to help it eats its shit
