      I don't know why he feels bad. Gale was not a good person. He was manufacturing a product that destroys lives when he could have had a career saving lives and making scientific breakthroughs. He wasn't in a desperate situation and really had no excuse. I get he wanted to return the care Gus gave him but he wasn't a good person by any stretch. He was competition and a threat. One of the fascinating abilities of Walter is to stay calm during tense moments, he doesn't freak out like Jesse does, Jesse picks up this trait in the later seasons. But Walts ability to control his emotions and analyse the situation and then reacting to it has to be the most dangerous thing I've ever seen. He can sit there and conjure up a lie without any hesitation. He plays with the emotions of people, carefully guiding them in his trap. I know this seems like an over-estimation of Walt but this is one of the reasons he is able to Turn himself into Heisenberg.

    Gotta love the way Walt manipulates Mike. He knew when Victor showed up he was taking him to be killed, all that desperate pleading with Mike instead of saying to Mike. " You don't have to do this, I know where Jessie is " would have came off as too confident to Mike, and Mike would have known something was up, so Walt acted desperate and pathetic so Mike would let him make his futile ( or more like what Mike saw as futile but, he needed Jessie gone too ) so he fell for Walt's desperate but fake pleading, it's the only way he was gonna convince Mike to let him call Jesse and it worked. ( You might want to hold off on that, you're boss is gonna need me. ) Love it.

    Gale was meant to be a parallel to Walt
    Gale knew his place in the order of things, being subservient to Gus. Gale wasn't arrogant. Gale knew when to shut up. These are all things he did that Walt was incapable of.
    He was also a master chemist like Walt and knew the production of meth forwards and backwards just not to Walt's degree of mastery.
    Walt wanted to be a silent partner with Jessie where Walt would cook and Jessie would sell and they'd split 50/50. Walt didnt want any part of the drug lord life, he wanted to remain invisible, just like Gale was.
    Gale was killed off because they wanted to show that no matter which road Walt would've taken he wouldn't be innocent or safe at all.

    • @JonBonesJones84
      @JonBonesJones84 3 года назад +2

      Walt also saw Gale as a threat. Walt knew that Gale could cook meth at a decent level that Gus would be satisfied with and that Walt would be disposed of at any time by Gus.

      I think Walt wanted to remain invisible in season 1, but season 2 you can see him start to enjoy the power and respect he'd gained. Actively putting himself into situations he didn't need to be in just so he could feel stronger, like the "stay out of my territory" moment. By season 5 he isn't trying to hide at all and that's what causes his downfall.

    I love how people bitch endlessly about CGI yet i'm willing to bet they 100% didn't even notice the dudes getting hit by the car were fully digital. When it's done right, like any effect, it's seamless!

    this channel is much more relevant right now than most think. Recapping everything that happened, also helps recap Better Call Saul. Now I know that Breaking Bad is after Saul, but it still helps put BCS into perspective. Imagine watching Better Call Saul without having seen Breaking Bad, there would be no point. These uploads of recaps of what happens in breaking bad, help reinforce WHY im watching better call saul, to see what happens to jimmy after the events of BB.
