- Our first Home Tour video! This is a walkthrough of our 1,000 square foot manufactured (mobile) home. This is mainly the interior, and there's still work to be done inside. We will be doing some more videos soon going into detail regarding some tips & tricks we've learned so far, and some additional tours of the exterior, landscaping, etc. as we try to make the home more personal. I wish more people could grasp the concept on focusing on what truly matters.
People, in our society, are all about MORE...and instant gratification.
The reasons people were successful seem to have been lost.
Nobody ever said the words, "starter home" back in the day... If folks were lucky enough to buy a car, they took care of it AND KEPT IT.
Sadly, we live in a disposable society. People don't value what they have...it is all about the MORE.

Very impressive! Our home is 1400, not a manufactured though. Sometimes I feel like we should move to something bigger and “better” but seeing this really opened up my eyes! Going to keep being thankful for my little home, we’ve been blessed with everything we need ❤️

Love this video! You guys are wonderful and I relate: seven children plus two equals a family of nine and one bathroom. Once we had four children in one bedroom with triple bunks and a crib. Those were the days my friend. Beautiful baby.

Really nice place you guys have. I had one that our family of 5 was living in we completely remodeled it. It was a 14x70 3 bed 1 bath. We lost it February 15th of this year when a tornado took it from us. Its been rough few months but hopefully we will be able to get another one day.
Jeff, it saddened us to read your post. We are very sorry for the loss of your home. Where do you live? Did others lose their homes, too? Are you all receiving support? How is the community holding up? Please keep us updated. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Love all you have done I too live in an 85 manufactured home my hubby and I being up in years did not want the upkeep of a traditional home and can live cheaper. We have more room than we need for two people. One of my must haves in my kitchen is my Instant Pot that serves as a rice cooker, slow cooker, pressure cooker etc. Afraid I am not as organized in my closet as you but ours although considered a walk in is quite small.

I just recently downsized very drastically too. I get a little twinge of that old "I need to keep up with the Joneses" when I drive by the big fine homes in my neighborhood, but overall I am so much less stressed and content in a smaller home!

Theresa 1967 so true. I have wasted so much money on sewing supplies and expensive fabrics that I wonder if I’ll ever live long enough to use it all up. At least I caught myself and refuse to buy more...well, maybe the occasional zipper or quilt backing, as needed....🙄

What a BEAUTIFUL home !!! I love how you've cut down on what you have. My family is doing the same thing. It's so hard to get rid of the things we love, but it's important to us to live SIMPLY !!! We went from over 1800 square feet to 540 in our retirement home, so even though change is really hard for us, it's sooooo good to feel less burgeoned with stuff.
I'm so glad to have found your channel. My husband and I are in the process of downsizing to a manufactured home. We currently live in a 2400 sq. ft. home with our two children 23 and 19. The 23-year-old will be married soon. And our 19-year-old son will be moving with us. With this move we will be completely debt free! And my husband will be retiring in 5 years! You did a beautiful job with your home. Very cozy, comfy and inviting!

The key is home layout. This is a good one.
I just stumbled upon this older video. You guys are a cute family. And .. Mrs Ma'am.. you look amazing! I just had my 4th little (uh 5 mos ago) and wish I looked that put together! When he was a month old it was an accomplishment to have just brushed my hair. Lol.

42 years ago, we too, were a family of five in a small 2 bedroom mobile home for several years. We were able to save up enough money to eventually buy a piece of land and have a medium size home framed up, then finished it ourselves, as we had the cash money! Love your home!❤️

I have personally lived in 2 manufactured homes in my lifetime and while it may be a small space, it is absolutely possible to make it look good and downsize while still staying organized. You guys did a good job!

We bought a small ranch house under 1000 sq ft 17 years ago/ down sized from a house more than 3x the size. That was before downsizing was popular!😂 but we have never regretted it! We have three kids and our youngest was 9 months old when we moved (It gets really tight as they get older).
We have constantly learned to simplify- that’s been a really good thing!
When we bought the house it had very dark stained barn board on every wall through the kitchen & living areas- I painted them all a very light sand color- huge difference!
My grandma used to say: “paper & paint will make ya what ya ain’t” 😂 it’s so true ! A good amount of elbow grease helps too!

Makes me feel alot better about my small trailer 😁 we are a family of 4 and we live in a single wide I just posted our mobile home tour on my channel and we have a king size bed as well 😊 I love the white walls I definetly want to paint our walls asap.

Thanks!! I agree that singlewide manufactured homes are a great option for downsizing. Bigger than tiny houses on wheels, but they do require a lot or land to put them, since moving one can be expensive. Keep us updated on your journey!! We’re excited for you all!!

CraftyLinnieP, thank you! And yes, it does feel bigger than 1,000 square feet. The white walls and ceiling help make it feel bigger. It's actually just under 1,000. The dimension of the home are 71 feet long by 14 feet wide.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing. 😊 My mind changed for the better when my mom moved into a mobile home; 2 bedrooms; jacuzzi; 45 oak cabinet kitchen with an island; 2 fireplaces. I couldn't believe it. She landscaped too, and she was always good at editing the "stuff" in our home. I am not. I wish I were.

We're a family of 6 and 1000 sq ft would be upgrading! Lol!! I have a soft spot for mobile homes. I think they are cute!! We currently live in a 2 bed, 1 bath cottage under 900 sq ft.

Your home is lovely. We are a family of 6 and are in a 3bdrm 888 square ft manufactured home. Yours seems to be more open than ours so we have trouble making furnature work. My children are 12, 10, 6, 4 and only one is a boy. We also have to 85 pound dogs. It gets tight as they grow but we make it work the best we can. At the end of the day all that really matters is the fact that we are even blessed enough to have a home in the first place. Thank you for sharing.

We are a family of 5 and live in a 1B 1B apartment. This is we can save 💵 to buy some land and build or first get a small mobile home on the land and build a small home in the future. Happy to see people that think different as well!!

Family of five I love your downsize video! I myself, Lisa live also in a modular or manufactured home. Living in homes like these you learn to be more humble and appreciate space and home life. I've just started doing some Renovations and remodeling after living here 12 years now. But I am enjoying every minute of seeing from before and after what my home can do. I have had some Plumbing challenges and electrical challenges living in this home but I am slowly working out financially how to get past that.

You are no different than our family! We too are a family of 5 (3 boys) and currently living in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. I never understood the thrill of needing a larger home, it nice, but not for us. To each's own 🤗
I find it odd that you keep saying "people" don't think trailers/manufactured homes don't have a lot of room? I mean they make up to like a triple wide and they even make them two stories now. Old trailers were a lot smaller, but today they are just as big as normal houses a lot of the time. I live in a house and I see trailers bigger than my place all the time.
I love the simple elegance of this place. You are amazing to have a newborn and five people living there and it being so organized and lovely. And by the way, Amber you are lovely too!

I got inspired by you and decided to remodel our mobile home too. My husband and I were initially going to see if we could get a house instead but we didn’t want a high mortgage payment. After looking at your video we decided to just remodel our home to save money.
Put felt pads on the bottom of your kitchen table and chairs and they will slide easier!
We did put some small ones underneath the furniture! Worked great!

Wow, great size mobile home. We lived in a 732 sq ft one for a year with our 4 kiddo’s. We didn’t have nearly that much space but you know what? I was all ours! Bought and paid for ☺️

How long will the boy and girl share a room ? You can totally paint the cabinets in the restroom white and the almond colored appliance white to brighten it up. Are you two going to have more children or expand the home to add a bedroom for the boy ? How much was your home ?

@@jocelynsanchez7018 A mobile home needs to be insulated very well. Then the electric bills won't be so high, and the family will stay cool and warm during the year. Older mobile homes are not very well insulated, they tend to be drafty. I'm speaking from experience!
Great job! One hint is that if you want your shirts to hang over the bureau, use the hangers with short necks. The long necked hangers I think, are made for coats with full or fur collars. You have a beautiful family!

I have just retired and live in a mobile home, but they are much smaller in the UK. Most homes here are much much smaller than yours. Its beautiful, very warming and inviting. But with 5 children, how do you keep it so immaculate. I need tips with just me lol. Thank you x
Lol, we need help too!! Just staying on top of it. It’s difficult, but the kids are at an age where the help too now. That always helps!
