How Is It So Cheap?!

- £95 for USA ➡️ UK?! 🤯 But what’s the catch? 🤔 AD PR trip
💾 Save this for the future when you’re looking for cheap flights to USA!
Have you ever heard of Norse Atlantic Airways before?! ✈️
They’re a low cost long haul airline that has many routes between the UK and the US.
But how are they able to offer their fares so low??!
Well… you get your seat, a tiny carry on bag and… that’s about it! 😂
Things you will have to pay extra for if you’re on the cheapest fare include:
10kg carry on bag - £36 each way
23kg check in bag - £60 each way
Seat reservation - from £16 each way
Main meal - £24
Light meal - £16
Comfort kit - £7.01
Headphones - £4.71
Of course, you don’t have to add any of these - but I’d like to see someone do a transatlantic trip in a bag that measures 40 x 30 x 15cm - that’s smaller than Ryanair’s small cabin bag 😱
Actually… This sounds like a great challenge to do… haha!
But let’s say you did want at least a 10kg carry on bag, that would make this flight £131 one way.
Another flag is that I could find this super cheap rate on the return home from Orlando but not on the flight out. The cheapest flight from London to Orlando was £154 but actually, £249 return is still pretty amazing 👏
Also - these are sale fares, not error fares, and so there’s a fair few still at this price in March and April so it’s good that they’re actually bookable. You’ll save a few quid by going through a third party, but if you wanted to book with Norse direct it would cost you £10 more for the return flight.
📣 BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?! 📣
Have you heard of Norse before? And would you consider flying with them?!
🤔🤔🤔
Oh also…
⚠️ What’s an AD PR TRIP? ⚠️
I flew with Norse as part of a PR Trip to Universal (more of that next!) meaning I didn’t pay for the trip, but I’m also not being paid to post about it (though obvs they want me to!)
I then asked if I could board the flight early to show you around the cabin whilst it was quiet! But yeah, Norse have not paid me to post this, nor do they know I’m going to. They also had zero sign off on any of the video - not even the fart sound coming out of the shitter 💩💨

I flew Norse from LAX to Oslo in 2022 when they first started and it was great. It was a redeye flight and they were so new, the plane was maybe 1/3 full so my wife moved to a row with no one in it and slept the whole flight as did I on the row we had originally booked. Had I known this was going to happen I would have not picked seats and saved a few more dollars on our cheap flight.
Yeah that’s why your experience was great, there was hardly anyone of it.
The thing that genuinely amazes me is the diabete meal. I mean yes, it £24, but the fact that is offer genuinely surprised me, as I did not expect to see that. 👍
That's a pretty standard offering, I've just checked a few full service airlines and they all offer it.
I don't recall seeing that last time I flew. Lol but then, that was 2019, so has been a hot minute. Lol 😋 but thank you for letting me know. 👍
Norse started off with few routes, they didn’t want to expand too quickly, which is what happened with Norwegian on the long haul routes.
Since then, they taken their time to build up and then expand gradually.
The former CEO of Norwegian is now the CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways 👍🏾.
Learning from the mistakes that Norwegian made in the past, has and will continue to make Norse a profitable and successful airline.
Yep. It's good they picked the guy who learned the most to run it as well
Bjorn Kjos was CEO of Norwegian, Bjorn Tore Larsen is CEO of Norse
I flew London to Barbados and it was amazing. Flights were 50% cheaper than BA and Virgin and I got to fly out of Gatwick. Just picked up 2 sandwiches at pret and 2 broasted chicken sandwiches at Chefette for the return 😊 With those savings it’s certainly tempting to “bid” for the business/premium class
I flew home in their 'premium' and if you can get that on a cheap day the it's really affordable for the comfort!
Flown with Norse to/from NYC & London 3x now and it’s great! Would defo recommend but bring your own snacks and blanket. In my experience it’s better to pre book seats.
But there’s so many things missing.. no checked bag no food etc
@@jakecortez4795you could add those though and it would still be cheaper than most other airlines
@@jakecortez4795It’s still SO cheap compared to the other airlines. Even economy flextra with priority boarding, 1 checked bag and 1 carry on + food it’s £243 (cheaper than others).
@@jakecortez4795i mean you have to pay for food on other airlines anyway. And youd probably just add on the big suitcase or a carryon depending on how long you’re staying. Its probably still cheaper than other airlines with the add ons. With food just buy stuff in the airport, or you can just buy what they offer on board
@@jakecortez4795pack less and don’t eat so often than u won’t be so fat
I’ve flown Norse four times and had previously used Norwegian long haul. I always go with exit row as I’m 6’4 but the rest of the cabin is comfy, meals are decent but the plane has always been cold as heck! Make sure to bring a blanket, I’ve had to buy one twice now.
I've priced it up before and if your flying long haul you need more luggage than a backpack.. So by the time I added luggage and seat selection there wasn't much between this airline and BA which just dosent make it wort it at all...
You don’t get baggage included on the BA basic fare either though…
I doubt - BA has raised prices q a bit. Norse, at least price wise, is still more competitive
You can do with less than you think! I did an 18 day holiday in Greece and the UK with just a backpack!
Went to the US for two weeks with just a backpack. If you take only essentials and are willing to find a laundry place to wash your clothes it can easily be done
@@joshmarsh2532I would say it’s impractical for most vacations because people honest don’t want to do laundry and for big groups like families it’s almost impossible
i would 100 percent fly with them.
They, like other budget airlines always get a bad rap. Simply because people do not understand them. They are perfect as a Taxi service, they are great for going from point to point cheaply. if you want them to be a Airline instead of a flying taxi service, and have bags etc. then you are paying for that. it is that simple.
So basically before you buy the “cheap” ticket, add up all the extras and compare to the other airlines that offer more amenities at a higher cost & weigh out the pros and cons! Thank you for this honest review and for showing us the prices! I just watched a review with that Liam guy from Points Guy and he didn’t mention anything about seat selection and the buying a meal & only talked about buying a blanket and headphones. Your review is way better!
Being in a metal can at 30 thousand feet I was like to think “at least it was cheap”
As someone who literally can’t eat anything on an airplane, because the smell makes me sick and nauseous, this is a win for me
Normal long haul is very rough unless you are in first class sleeper. Ryanair of long haul sounds like cruel and unusual punishment
It’s really not that bad, bring extra socks and a jacket you can use as an extra blanket and maybe some stuff like grapes and lip balm and you’ll be fine. Oh and always try and get the specialty meals, like the low lactose. They’re almost always pretty good actually
It’s much better and I just checked out their premium cabin and it’s like business class on many airlines for only like £400
Who bloody cares? You're flying to another continent and it takes less than 10 hours. 100 years ago you'd be on a boat for a week.
How? I swear I sit down and immediately sleep for 80+% of the flight. You watch 1 movie and then you've already arrived.
Maybe because I barely need any comfort to actually fall asleep, but you can just catch up on some movies or tv shows for the full time if you can't sleep. For up to two weeks you dont really need more than a backpack either. Eat before the flight and eat after, bring a snack or 2 with you if youre going to be there for 10+ hours. Fairly easy to just pass the time and not get bothered.
If you have to fly to Europe last minute it is a good deal. If not, and you can plan ahead at least 7 months, you can get the same on the main airlines for the same money as Norse (if you want baggage and food). For those who don't plan going to Europe that far it does make sense.
Flying Norse NYC to Berlin tomorrow night! Yay budget airlines!
how was? I'm looking at this exact situation now
OMG Yes, I am planning the same trip! How was it?
this is so good! i have so many allergies i bring my own food on long haul flights away. what a money saver✨️
I have a lot of allergies too. What food do you take on board that lasts? I usually bring prepackaged camping meals but they get pretty boring. Wonder what you do?
@MsFanpireProductions I normally take stuff you can add hot water to or keeps at room tempt. So instant noodles, cup soup, left over pizza, sandwiches, bread rolls, lots of snacks and breakfast bars, porridge pots.
Flew Dulles to London, summer 2023. Great experience!
That is absolutely fantastic value.
Had a look at this recently and once foid and bags etc added it came out at oretty much the same as the other airlines. I expect you could save if travelling light or on your own, but it didn't seem a game changer
I was going to fly Manchester to Toronto on a different budget long haul airline which was similar where I'd have to buy everything extra. I used NetFlights and found cheaper flights with international airlines that include everything. I was even able to select my seats for free by checking in 24 hours before the flights, but I was flying with my adult daughter, so it wouldn't have been a huge deal if we hadn't been able to sit together. We did have to go in the teeny tiny British Airways airplanes between Manchester and London, but it was still luxury compared to the budget airlines.
I’m done with budget airlines.
honestly excluding the luggage stuff, from the looks of the economy class it's about the same as the BA economy flight I got from Heathrow to Philly.
I would. It’s cheaper to buy the ticket and a €36 plus an extra €30ish charge for a regular bag of luggage and a meal kit than any other flight
Great experience with Norse. More comfy than British and American
But you also get no bags and no food etc..
Norwegian airlines rebrand? I enjoyed them.
Orlando to Gatwick is merely 8 hours. The true Ryanair of Long Haul should be Scoot, with SIN-BER at 16 hours.
No because when you look at all the cost it's more or the same to fly BA
I could just about digest... Easyjet of long haul..... but Ryanair.... NO!
Going in September, £100 more expensive than virgin with extras added....
You don't need to buy seat selection, do you? Shouldn't they auto assign you?
i love the background noise
With the packages that probably makes it worth while.
Flew IAD to Gatwick last year but now they don’t fly out of IAD anymore 😭
I m thinking of using them to Mia in October still not sure
Checked their site and no tickets for this price
It's summertime. Price sensitive travelers are flying more.
@@fender10gbut I checked every single month until next year.
I'm abou to book my flight to Paris , from the US
Recently got tickets from NYC to Europe for over $1000... 😭
Absolutely
16 pounds is cheap, can you help me find cheap tickets to Bangladesh from UK. Return flight
Interesting - I thought that flights over a certain time *had to* include food
under whose law is that?
@@rockerjim8045 I’m not a lawyer 😅 the way it was explained to me, it was something about the international agreements on commercial aviation, the same way that you must get fed if your flight is delayed over a certain time
You don’t HAVE to select a seat mind you. That’s just an extra, not optional.
In flight entertainment? So 10x better than American airlines then
Its not that much more though to fly on the non budget airlines for a much better experience.
It seems worth it ngl
The same management team, the same planes, a similar name, and almost identical routes of the previously known and now bankrupt Norweigen Air.
Nothing to see here, just some corporate restructuring (and pocketing £blns in written off debt) 😂
Maybe just use non basic airlines
Entertainment system is a bit rubbish so download something to watch beforehand.
No
if you add all those extras price would be as a regular airline ticket...
No. It stills a bargain.
@@zakariahofra6027 British Airways and American Airlines are also a bargain when the price is the same
@@zakariahofra6027definitely is
So then don't add the extras?
@@DylanIE_ but most of those extras are needed
Flown in 12/2022 jfk-lgw premium economy $381.
I always zravel like this ❤
worst experience ever. Long haul, not even water offered. paid for extra leg room-woken up repeatedly to be asked if I already paid. Makes Ryan Air feel like Qatar Airlines. Never again. Rude flight attendants.
That's premium economy not the economy cabin they are different
No it’s not, premium is even bigger and reclines with a foot rest like a lazy boy
How have you been given access to an entirely empty cabin? This is basically an advert. Also please don’t slap me in the face again.
interncontinental ryanair
its a shame they only operate boeing
I’d try it
an empty plane to film in. ?
Still waiting for them to come to toronto.
fun fact: one of the planes landed in antartica
I don't think I will use this airline.
And the reason is….🙄
With likes of United being totally overpriced, BA, Virgin etc, this airline is a great addition in the market. Norwegian was the most successful airline (low cost) to compete with the big boys prior to the pandemic for long haul.
And boy did they.
Do your research.
They’re not a Ryanair THAT is for sure!!
Ryanair yes I wouldn’t fly them, as they are known for having a dreadful reputation.
@@GA-ik6pi narcissist much? I don’t see how your view affects theirs lol. Plus why assume they haven’t don’t any research when they only just said they wouldn’t use the airline?
@@GA-ik6piyeah and they come with 0 amenities no food no baggage no nothing I would pass
What a faff. Penny pinching rarely improves anything. Just give me fairly priced tickets like back in the 90s with all the usual things like food, drinks, luggage and friendly staff included.
The price of flying has reduced massively since the 90s. Particularly on transatlantic flights.
Humans are weird. Simultaneously worrying about climate change and about how cheap they can make aeroplanes.
wowza they actually have a gluten free meal wowza
Don't compare you American capitalist to the goat Ryanair.
Ryanair is so cheap on base cost
It's the exact same business model. My flight to Hamburg was advertised at €50 return, but by the time I was finished it was €120, because I wanted to bring more than a shopping bag with me and sit on the aisle.
@@GM-tw4elwindow is better

"Whats the catch?" The global climate crisis?
