@@UzumakiNaruto_ Yes, but most of these areas that went out the window. Those tight-knit ethnic regions are no longer. Too many are unhappy in life and it shows in how we live together, though that can be anywhere.
Philly parking in these areas is atrocious and hate to visit as to park is a hell and take another's spot.... forgetaboutit... you just disrespected someone (to them) and that Philly attitude comes out. Not to mention if driving too slow. And do not expect them to move their car faster to get thru if you blow your horn.
I do not fear Philly. Just abhor things I mentioned to visit even. Center City some gentrified areas and far north etc fine. So many just attitude city and throw your trash right on the sidewalk attitude is another.

There are many parts of Philadelphia that are clean and vibrant. Baltimore and Washington DC fits inside of Philadelphia. Just to give an idea of the size of Philadelphia. I'm from West Philly and none of the neighborhoods I lived in looked like what's in this video.
But what really makes Philadelphia are the people! The most loyal people who will stick by you.

You got that right... Chicago has full sweeper service and its Sanitation service (trash pick-up) is sooooo much more superior that hoods are far cleaner. OMG AND SOOOO MUCH GREENER. Green fronts, soaring trees small yards if they maintain it and back alleys for garages, added parking.
Thank God Chicago did not choose to be a mostly attached row-home city that sub-divided streets to alleyway size. Chicago also has such varied housing thru blocks and fronts free from those ugly power-line poles as they are run thru your alleys as a great chose of street-grid. Set-back fronts for green and trees.👍

I get that. Just they bring that Philly attitude and OMG want to park-on-the-sidewalks..... The city did not have a ordinance against it so... they get away with it. Block streets for whatever.... even Philly rednecks with 4-wheelers parking them and sidewalks.... OMG my poor hometown. Northern NJ Folk and NYC Boroughs not much better quality. Still vs some of our Philly elite we get now.... Glad I am just outside the city.

Detroit is still ever worst. The mighty auto industry practically went bust to trurn Detroit into gang-drug infested slums and ghettos with thousands of abandoned homes, businesses and factories. Phily was a city that thrived on a carpet industry. It too both went bust and outsourced that turned Phily into a ghetto slum as well, though not quite as the scale as what the auto industry did to Detroit.

    • @davidw7

Philly powers-that-be... allowed their original Center City grid to be subdivided further. Gone were town-squares and idea of William Penn PA's and Philly's founder. Was that all should also have room for a small garden (small yard) too.
They got alleys turned to more crammed-in rows for poorer folk and homes all to the sidewalk and curb. No setbacks standard for fronts of some green or soaring trees. Trees getting older their roots can bother foundations so not changing much sadly even in gentrification. Just cleans it as less trash it.
Too many have no backyards.... many a walk-way if lucky which WAS NOT KIND WHEN THE AUTO AGE CAME. OK if all could walk to a mill nearby to work. NOT AT ALL CAR FRIENDLY and all want cars and cram them in not even back alleys to have some in far most of the city.
Add seeing those ugly power-line poles that can be in fronts. Just not aesthetically pleasing or the walk.... add parking half on sidewalks is appalling yet allowed in those narrowest of streets.

Have you seen sad sights of Appalachia and deep south.... OMG and as high of crime as city hoods. All have guns so..... attitudes can clash and good ole bois git a bit hot. Did you see crime rates of cities in these states? Even of the city is blue.... the state is not yet hoods galore...
Did you ever check out debt of cities like a booming Houston? Yes why and how for a city booming? What will happen when it slows. It cannot keep getting storms and endless FEMA $$$ pouring in from those blue states.
I say Texas can vote to leave. Not cause I want it.... just if it gets to that.... No more FEMA endlessly pouring in and stealing for the cheap (less and less) Huge incentives/ tax breaks as ELON and his Billion $$ to move there. Draining wealth from cities that CREATED THEM INDUSTRIES. Lost so much to de-industrialization, move to suburbs for cheaper and ultimately ASIA for extremely cheap. Now still the sunbelt till those areas are ones that never should have had such growth. Why it was cheap and depressed for so long to remain cheap.
Now aging infrastructure. Still pensions to pay even in them states and cities. As long as more keep moving it is like suburbs till they get grown out and age, schools need more and more and still paid off. New sewers and streets.... they too find taxes must rise for just local funding.
Same now in sunbelt regions as taxes skyrocket with no state tax.... gotta get it from somewhere certainly not big businesss. Values of homes rise so do taxes.... THEY LOVE THOSE FOREVER HOAS a worst TAX Free states allow...... No single home should ever be in a HOA unless a retirement one or one for very rich.
Yet most that gets built in a Texas and Florida is not with a added tax of HOAS forever and higher and higher insurances.... makes it pricey each year.... half of sunbelt states are poor. Those that lured northern and western industry did boom and lure transplants.
Did you ever thing that it is BIG Brother that wanted us first dispersed to suburbs more during the Cold War... and know something and wanted each REGION to have a more EQUAL Population. We that has occurred...
Sadly, so many areas that boom need ENDLESS FEMA money pored to cause they should not have had that populations in the first place. Were once far less seen as desirable. AC for all changed that.

No wonder Philly has a bad reputation because this is all people seem to want to show with these driving videos. There's so much more to Philly than this. Some areas look so beautiful you would think you were in Beverly Hills. It's a beautiful city with lots to do some areas are Godly awful like this one here. And it seems this guy love to advertise this section of the city. I don't know if he's trying to create a narrative that Philadelphia is all bad or what but every time he records this is what he show people and that's what people will think all the city has to offer because they're not smart enough to know that's better areas

How can they be piled for months on lots even streets of no housing that is inhabited... yet trash trucks cannot pick it up???? Bring back more of some street-cleaning services. Sure you need to move cars. Did not Philly get rid of it over a decade ago? Does one thing a city can stay as clean without it unless individuals replace that service. Heck.... even Center City has to have its business pay for its street and sidewalk cleaning services. Sure many post can be trolling. I even did some. Just comparing city hoods always has Philly on top of list for some reasons I mentioned and too many people who do not feel it is a core value apparently.... to keep their areas free from debris.
