the baked potatoes can be started in the microwave and then finished in the air fryer. This cooks them a lot faster but still gives you the crispy crusty skins... lots of great ideas here TFS!

Oh how I’ve missed you guys! We finally got cable and internet reconnected yesterday after 5 long weeks! Ida really did a number on our small parish. 500 homes destroyed, 7000 with major damage, 100 percent with some damage. We were very blessed; We had a lot of damage, we need a new roof, but ours didn’t leak so our house is intact. We are all pulling together and helping each other out; that’s what we do in these situations.

@Nola Mom - Oh Sally, I'm so so SO HAPPY to see this comment and hear from you! I knew you guys were affected but I was hoping it was not too bad, but the longer it went, the more worried I got. I'm so glad that it was not any worse than it was, though I know you likely were without power for a while (and many others a really long time), and yikes, 5 weeks without internet is such a first world problem, but one that affects us all these days. I'm sorry about your roof, and imagine it is a long wait list for a good roofer, but so glad it hasn't been leaking and everything else is otherwise in decent shape. I hope things are getting better, and yes, you are so right, I know everyone pulls together and helps out, and I know there are blessings in spite of the problems. I'm just so relieved you are all well and safe. Thank you so much for checking in and letting us know!! Hugs to you all!! ----Stacy 😍💚

@@LetsCookYall We we’re without power for 3 weeks, but fortunately we had a generator to keep our fridges and freezers going and at night we hooked up to my camper so we had A/C to get a decent nights sleep. Our insurance agent sent a company over to tarp our roof before the tropical storm came through so that was good. My mom had very minor damage, the girls live in the city and had no damage with the exception of Christie losing one section of her fence. Heathers’s parents weren’t so lucky; they had to gut their house and are living in their camper. It’s surreal; we did ok, but my two neighbors lost everything.

You are so sweet to leave such kind comments - thank you! I do love to try new things and I'm certainly blessed with Tim who will try anything and is always open to new recipes. Sadly, he's not on board with a more plant based diet, or else I'd be doing a lot more meat alternatives, plus beans, lentils and more veggies, but that's ok - he will at least try them and then decide whether or not they are for him! @Carol Potts - Hi Carol!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching! No air fryer needed - anything that goes in an air fryer will always work in an oven, on just a sheet pan or cookie sheet. An air fryer is just a small, contained convection oven. It works great for us because we are just a household of two, and I don't have to wait on my "big" oven to preheat to cook something relatively small in size. Plus, in the hot summer months, it doesn't heat up my kitchen like my regular oven does :) Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Everything looks delicious and I have a new Convection toaster oven 8 in 1 with an air fryer setting. My old basket type had a really small basket and I use my toaster oven for everything so I gave it to my mother in law. The only time I use my stove oven is to bake a turkey or ham. Everything else goes in my small oven. I have a smaller kitchen with no way to open a window. I have a door with a solid window the same size as the door so unless I have the central air on my kitchen gets very hot when I use the oven. With just the 2 of us the small oven works perfectly. It will not fit a 9x13 pan but I can use an 11x7 which most of the time works perfectly. I cannot wait to try several of these recipes. I love mine for baked potatoes, brussel sprouts and french fries. I do not like microwaved potatoes at all. The potato has a sweet taste from the sugars in the potato. I also eat the skins. They work great in the air fryer.

    • @LetsCookYall
      @LetsCookYall  2 года назад

@TeNice Xoxo - Hey girl!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching! ABSOLUTELY! Egg Roll in a bowl is great, and any leftovers will be the perfect filling for chinese style egg rolls. All you need to do is find the wrappers (oddly enough, my grocery store is out of them as much as they have them available in the store), wrap and roll, spritz with a bit of olive oil and air fry about 10 minutes. If you have a lot of filling left, you can make up a bunch and then freeze any leftovers. I wrap them individually in Saran or plastic wrap, and then store them all in a big gallon freezer bag. Then it's a simple thing to defrost them for about 90 seconds in the microwave, pop them back in the air fryer for 2-4 minutes and have them with any Chinese sides. Love having them on hand!! @Kathy Conger - Hi Kathy!!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching our latest video! Wow, I'm so surprised to hear that you've had things burn in your air fryer. We have honestly never had a single thing burned or really overcooked (unless it was error on my part, getting busy with something else and forgetting to check). That's one of the things I love most about my air fryer, is that I can open the basket and eyeball it and check it at any time (as opposed to the Instant Pot which is sealed under pressure). I usually start with the website airfryercalculator.com, as a ballpark or guess, and then take it from there. I find that I cook delicate and baked things lower, and things like potatoes and a lot of meats at a higher temperature. It goes without saying that EVERY air fryer is different, so I firmly believe in "learning" how yours cooks and charting times and temps is the way to go. For us, we keep a document on our website with the time and temp of everything we've tried, so I know what works for me, in my particular air fryer. I would try out the website or ours, for just a ballpark range and then go from there and adapt it to work in your air fryer. And set timers, I'm constantly setting a timer and tossing mine, flipping things, moving them around, so that helps the air circulate and things cook more evenly. I hope you get the hang of yours soon and how it cooks, and that you end up loving yours about half as much as we love ours!!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@@LetsCookYall I can open mine too & ck. I don’t know what it is? Most of the stuff we are throwing in, is frozen stuff from the freezer & the top gets too brown before the middle is thawed out. We’re doing a little better now though. Thanks Stacy! I hope you guys have a great wknd!😁💜

@Kathy Conger - oh ok, that sort of makes sense. I don't cook very much from frozen, and have never tried frozen veggies. I do some Chinese sides (and sometimes the main part like the fried chicken pieces in a box of General Tso chicken, etc) and most of those, I defrost in the microwave before I toss in the air fryer. I think the very first time I tried egg rolls, I put them in from frozen right out of the freezer and found the same thing - the outside way overcooked while the inside was still cold. So, now for my egg rolls, I always wrap them in a paper towel and microwave 90 seconds and THEN air fry them. I bet you need to either defrost on the counter or fridge or maybe zap for a short amount of time in the microwave from a frozen solid state right out of the freezer. That will help it cook more evenly, I bet. Hope y'all are having a great weekend too!!!

Where do you find your big bag of sausage crumbles for pizza? Ive looked everywhere and cant find it. I obviously know I can crumble my own sausage and I do, but I love the pizza sausage crumbles. My store has quit carrying the little tiny bag of Hormel that they carried and I have looked everywhere for them. I saw you using them and got excited hoping you could tell from where? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

@jenn jenn - Hi Jenn! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out our latest video! Girl, that is one of the things that I am having trouble finding these days too! I'm so glad I have been keeping a fairly well stocked freezer and pantry, but I am about out. Occasionally, I can find the Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles at my Kroger, and lately, I've had decent luck finding the Butterball brand of turkey sausage crumbles at my Walmart. So I've been using one of those. I just checked my app, and my Kroger currently has the Jimmy Dean "Meat Lovers Mix" which is bacon mixed in with sausage, and works great for pizza, but sometimes I do just want the sausage by itself. Who knows, in a week or 3 or 3 months they might get the sausage back in. It's just crazy these days, on availability and also on price. Everything is going up, especially meat. Hope that helps, or that you can find them at a store in your area! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Some yummy recipes, Stacy! I had a question though, I got an air fryer that looks like a toaster oven and they said foil is a no no. I was surprised when you said foil. Wondering if the type you have is much different than mine. Thanks for sharing!

@Michelle Quinno - Hey Michelle!! Girl, thank you so much for stopping by and watching, and for leaving a comment, you are so sweet! Oh wow, you got one of the big oven air fryer, that's awesome! We still have an old toaster oven in a corner of our kitchen, so I'm happy with my big basket style one (I love it actually!). That's SO odd about the foil. From everything I have ever heard about any air fryer or toaster oven, anything you can use in a regular oven is safe for a toaster oven or a basket style air fryer. Aluminum foil is oven safe, but not microwave safe, so I have zero idea why yours would say that foil was a no-no. Was that in the documentation? Or did someone tell you that? I would think it would be fine. I've used both aluminum foil and also parchment paper in my basket style and had zero problems. Hope you figure it out!! Hope you and John are well these days, take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Michelle Quinno - Well, I think that is really odd Michelle, considering everything I've ever heard about either a toaster oven or an air fryer. Supposedly anything that is safe for a "regular" oven is safe for both a toaster oven or an air fryer. And I know I've used aluminum foil in my (very old) small toaster oven, as well as many times in my basket style air fryer. I've used parchment paper too, for things like biscuits and cookies, and never had a problem with either. Weird, but I guess if it's in the instructions that came with your model, I would go with that. Maybe there's something in your particular model or that brand that prohibits the use of foil, but I agree, it's pretty weird! We are doing great, and hope you and John (and the family!) are too!!! Hugs! ---Stacy 😍💚

What kind of air fryer do you use? I have one but want a bigger one

    • @LetsCookYall

@Qiana Brown - Hi Qiana! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching our latest video! I tried to link the air fryer we are using in the video's notes, but actually could no longer find it on Amazon. It is an Omorc brand (and we were sent this one to evaluate for our channel a while ago). I just went back and looked through some of our old "Around the House" videos (where we used to share everything plus food, in a vlog format), and we received it in March 2019. So it's been going strong for 2.5 years. We had purchased a smaller 3.x quart Kalorik air fryer initially, but had problems with it in less than 6 months. The manufacturer was very unfriendly and provided no customer service, so we won't buy another Kalorik brand AF. If I needed to replace ours right now, I would likely try an Instant Pot Vortex brand or a Cosori brand, in the big 5.8 quart basket style. I know a lot of people use an oven style air fryer, but we have a toaster oven and I like using the basket style personally. I hope that helps!! I really love my bigger one, as I am able to cook more in it, including a full meal sometimes (more content coming soon!). Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hi I have the Power XL Vortex 7 quart.Love it. Definitely can do a 5 pound whole chicken and a small turkey breast. Both came out so perfect.
If you are in the market for a fryer give this one some thought I highly recommend it.

Why is it the volume is SO low on the voice overs? I turn it up to hear the voice over, then when you switch to speaking on camera, I'm blasted out.

@Jesus Saves - Hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out this latest video. I'm so sorry you are having trouble with the audio. I set my microphone to 100% when I record the voice overs, but I do try to speak a bit softer (as I have received some unkind comments in the past about my voice). I know when I talk as I am recording, I do tend to speak louder, because the camera is positioned away from me usually, on a tripod or stand. I'm so sorry it is not mastered out for you. I actually spend a lot of time with the videos, both video and audio and trying to master everything to an acceptable level. I'm sorry it is not working well for you :( Have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Jesus Saves - maybe it's my microphone? Not sure, but it always sounds really close to me on my end, both the recorded parts as I cook as well as the voiceovers I add later (but I'm using a computer and rarely ever "check" the videos on my phone, and I know that most people do view on their phones). I'm sorry it's such an annoyance, definitely do not intend for it to be at such a different level. Thanks for sticking with us, in spite of that, we definitely appreciate the support! 💙💜💖
