It is a bad idea to plan a trip to the states of Yucatan or Quintana Roo. Expect to be harassed by immigration and given less days than you plan to stay there (Reddit has tons of forums with people complaining about this). All of the attractions are related to the beach (they are really expensive too), which gets boring after awhile. It is better to visit the coast of Jalisco and Sinaloa. The beaches are just as nice, the states are managed by liberal governments, and everything is cheap (Taxis, Restaurants, and Hotels).
