You may have seen on our Facebook that it's been a pretty rough week for us. Jordan has been in and out of the hospital dealing with unexplained health issues. They've done oodles of testing and our best guess is that it's severe acid reflux. It could potentially be more, which is why he'll have an endoscopy done as soon as the worst of the symptoms subside. Thank you to everyone who has sent encouraging words and advice our way! Hoping to have more answers and a healthy Jordan muy pronto. P.S. You can see all our updates with more details on www.Facebook.com/TangerineTravels
You know, if you ever get a mild case of acid reflux at night, sleep on your left side. It minimizes the acid greatly. Sleeping on your right side will just aggravate it more.
Omeprazole cured me of acid reflux, one a day for 30 days and it keeps me free from acid reflux for several weeks. You can get it over the counter.stay off spicy and greasy foods.( I knoow,I know you're in Mexico lol!.)
When you stay in MAHAHUAL you need to show the restaurants and tour operators your hotel key and that opens up the Mexican prices. Also there is a money exchange and ATM going south from HOTEL MEXICO LINDO at the end of the block your turn left to the beach and there’s the money exchange and ATM, also bar restaurant YAYA BEACH is very warm and welcoming people there even pacha mama and CABALLO blanco hotels and at 40 cañones hotel is very nice restaurant breakfast, lunch and dinner , you traveled enough to stop acting like your are lost, like I said show that you are in town for a few days apart yourselves from looking like you came of the cruise ships. Show your hotel key introduce yourselves to the staff. Then you will get the Mexican menu.
I loved Mahahual, but I’m Mexican so guess it was different from what you experienced plus the couple of days we were there threwasnt any cruise so, we did enjoy it wasn’t too crowded and how cheap it was the food & tours. But totally understand your point. Good vibes to Jordan!
My parents, who are Mexican-born... speak Spanish as a first language... AND had pesos... but came on a cruise ship... had a less than good time in Mahahual and Cozumel because of the constant nickel-and-diming. They still kept getting every price in USD, and when they asked how much in pesos it was actually slightly more expensive than if they just paid in USD. They kept pointing out they understand the locals have to make a living, but they ask for too much in terms of price and not every tourist is a millionaire. They felt it was especially insulting that even as fellow Mexicans who understand the culture they were receiving this scammy treatment. No one should be treated that way, it's eventually just going to turn people off from coming there.
I am an American from Texas. I have lived here in Mahahaul for two years. I bought a house on the beach and the people here are constantly trying to rip off the gringo when we have someone come to our house to do any kind of work they charge extra because we are gringos, you have to be careful when you shop to be sure you don’t get charged extra. 😅 my wife and I have been talking about going back to the states because we are sick of being treated like tourist and it is true what y’all say about being charged extra at the restaurant if you pay in US dollars But that is the case with everything here if you’re a gringo, you’re gonna get charged extra. My wife is Argentine. She speaks the Spanish language very well and we just make them believe that she is Mexican so we do not get stuck with higher prices everywhere we go. Hay en Joy Your video Thank You Very Much
I love Mahahual. It's easy to get there these days from Cancun by ADO bus through Playa. And if you're staying there for a week or longer the folks in the restaurants and beach clubs get to know you and you get the locals prices. Yes, they have a set price of $8 for a cab ride from the port, but you can put 3 or 4 people in a cab to lower the per person price. And they have a tram that runs from the port for just $2. Those prices are waaaay cheaper than just about any other cruise port in the Caribbean. It's a bargain for the cruisers and allows the cabbies to make a decent wage. Mahahual was a very poor fishing village, but now residents share their beautiful beaches with thousands of visitors a day and the residents are enjoying a little prosperity. As a visitor I enjoy the two faces of Mahahual - the bustle when the cruise ships are in and then the quiet when the day trippers leave. And even when the Malecon area is crowded with Cruise Commandos you can drive about 10 minutes north or south and enjoy miles and miles of empty beaches. Oh, and I almost forgot-the best shop for silver jewelry in Quintana Roo is in Mahaual - Silver Reef is run by David and Suri Benitez. They have been there since 2002. David hand makes much of the jewelry and sells it by weight, adding a few pesos for his labor.
I live in Mexico as well and absolutely love Mahuhual. Never had a bad experience always treated very well. Never found it to be so dead with nothing to do though 🤔. I'm actually glad you basically told everyone not to go! Hopefully this town won't be ruined like everything North.
I also live in Baja Mexico, have for 13 years. We have similar issues with gringo prices. My wife is Mexicana and always tells me to hide when she goes shopping as she knows they will ask more if they see me. I would like to check out this part of QR Mexico, I like more laid back smaller less traveled places. We love Oaxaca beaches. Glad to hear the comments from both you Chuck and the video makers. And agree the less is better, let them stay in Cancun.
I am quite pleased that according to this couple Mahahual received a negative vote. When I visited Mexico a few years ago I was doing so to find a town that I intended to move to. Hands down, I chose Mahahual. The very reasons that it appealed to me are the reasons that other people dislike it. I love the fact that it was not tourist-friendly and that the economy was based on the cruise ship tourists and not daily tourist visitors arriving by vehicle. The people there were incredibly nice and all of the shopping and foods were fantastic. I loved that the town was small and the prices were definitely right. If you speak Spanish and are paying with the local currency you have got it made. I am looking forward to purchasing land as close by as possible and opening a food cart that caters to the cruise ship tourists. I love the fact that the town shut down when the tourists disappear and that the life in the town became local-based. If you are a tourist and want to visit a place that is very touristy this is definitely not it. I love the fact that it is rural and hard to get to and that the activity in the town is very minimal. Happy to agree that those seeking something else can just stay away. Can't wait to move there!
I totally agree! I've stayed more south, Mayan Beach Club, but visited Mahahua (non cruiseship days 🤣). I loved it there, snorkeling was great and awesome people. Lucky you moving there! I've been considering it myself.
I appreciate all the reviews you guys have of the different cities you visit. If it wasn't for this video I wouldn't know what the situation was there. So yes you guys personalities + honest review of city + great video skills = high quality content!
It’s good you guys are honest about the places you like and dislike the most. It’s impossible to like every place we visit. On the other hand, I wish Jordan a speedy recovery. He’s really handsome and cute. Take care, amigos.
I’m glad you decided posting the video, as it was very interesting to see your point of view. I’d have felt the same way! Sending you positive vibes from beautiful Southeast Asia and hoping that Jordan gets better soon ✌️❤️
I appreciate that you also give reviews on places that you are not totally in love with and show drawbacks of a location. Not every place is the same, you don't paint Mexican towns with one wide brush. Thanks!
My husband and I went to Mahaual exactly 1 year ago in July and I didn’t enjoy it at all because there was a TON of seaweed and it smelled horrible. What I can tell you is that We did have the best snorkeling experience ever! We swam with the sea turtles. And that alone made my visit to Mahaual worth it.
It's too bad that you weren't able to take the time to get to know Mahahual. Fernando is a friend. I have family that lives there and many friends that I made through my visits. If you had done your research, you would have known that there are literally 1000 people in this town. It is a port town, so of course they cater to the cruises. It's disappointing that anyone might feel discouraged on visiting as it is absolutely my favorite place in Mexico. Hands down.
We stayed for 10 days a few years ago and would agree this is our favorite destination in Mexico. Days when the ships are in port we visited Xcalak, Bacalar and one day farther North toward Mayan Garden Hotel. The snorkeling and diving is excellent and I will return soon and visit Banco Chinchoro. The people in town are super friendly and not once did we feel threatened, unsafe, offered drugs or like someone was trying to scam us. In fact I would venture it is one of the safest places I've ever visited. We were there during Carnival and it was so nice to see the townsfolk out enjoying themselves, about every kid we saw had both parents and such a wholesome scene!
We stayed there for 3 days, and there were no cruise ships. We drove from Merida. Part of the drive takes you through Pineapple groves where you can buy the freshest pineapples, and fresh pineapple juice. It was nice and relaxing. Heard stories about the $8 taxi rides, and experienced the hunt for ATMs. I would go back.
What a pity that you did not explore the "other part" of Mahahual. Indeed the town of Mahahual is crowded on cruise ship days but if you would have gone a little bit more south of the town (2 miles) you would have found empty, pristine beaches and small ecological hotels (pet-friendly!) and restaurants charging you in pesos. Pure nature, waking up with only the sound of birds and waves. You could have gone on a sailing tour with a catamaran and do some snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling or kitesurfing etc. The "rocks" you saw...is actually a coral reef. Unfortunately the reef in town is dead, but south of Mahahual there are lots of beautiful places for snorkeling and diving. For people who like nature & watersport...Mahahual has a lot to offer...
Amazing video. Honestly I can't believe you considered not posting! Its stuff like this that's actually helpful to travelers. I mean what if you only get a few days off a year and you spend 1000s on a vacation, it's great to know what your getting into!
Thanks for the compliment, Andrea! For clarity, we were considering not posting it because we didn't think the video was up to our standards, not because we didn't want to share our experiences. We want every video we post to be a good one so everyone knows that when we release a video it's worthwhile to watch.
Hey please dont apologize for making this type of video! This is just as... or even MORE informative to people. It's always great to see the good AND the bad.. just so ya know! Ya know?! 😂😁👍 As always, great video!! You guys rock!♡♡
Absolutly great belive me....i do live here since 2 years now and without cruises sure we are breathing a different air....everybody is welcomed here :)))
The honesty is so awesome! Thank you! We disliked about cruising exactly what you're talking about. To some people, feeling like you're still in America is a boon. Others of us want to feel like we're overseas when we travel. You've helped both groups make an informed decision. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this, we need to see the not so good with the good. Your content is amazing, intelligently done and informative, well done guys! And I hope you're feeling better Jordan.
Thank you for the compliments! We appreciate that. Jordan and I do our best to share a good balance in each video. Life's not perfect, and that's okay :) Thanks for the well wishes as well. Hopefully Jordan starts feeling better ASAP
Went to Bacalar- on a cruise excursion- AHMAZING- Loved Baca- Thank you for this video, because we are gonna do Mahaual , with a cheap taxi ride from the port on our next cruise- Your video put us at peace to venture off from the cruise line alone-
Feel better soon, Jordon! I'm glad you posted this. You have to have the bad to appreciate the good. And not everyplace is fabulous. If you only posted about the places you liked, people would think you liked everything and you would lose credibility. So keep on keepin' it real!
Another good video as always. Guys, if you are in Mexico city as you mentioned on your Twitter, you should come to Querétaro. I think you're going to like it. Just give it a try.
Binge watching tour vídeos during covid-19 after hearing you mention on your livestream that this helps you guys out! Just wanted to let you know that these short videos of places even if you don't recommend them are super useful.
Thanks for binge-watching our videos Suzanne! We really appreciate that. Thanks for the feedback about the video. We do our best to be as honest and straightforward as possible, even if (and especially if) we don't particularly like a place.
Wow! You definitely get your monies worth on the Tequila 3:22 I am sure that drink container was one of your prized possessions while you there! In my humble opinion, this was your BEST video because you explained the dynamics of the town. Anyone planning on visiting, either on a cruise ship or on their own, knows what they should expect! This video has value. I am glad you decided to upload it! Thanks!
Thanks Robert! Oh yeah, we visited that cantarito guy a lot during this trip haha :) Glad you enjoyed the video so much. We do our best to give our honest perspectives wherever we go to help others make informed travel decisions
Mahahual has been an excellent destination during the pandemic, it changed the dynamic of the place and now the local economy if more focused on Mexican and European visitors, they have adapted well to the current situation. I come here to dive as this area is nearest to Banco Chinchorro and Xcalac the two best dive locations on the peninsula BRING Plenty PESOS ! Negotiate and pay in pesos, this is Mexico. Fly into Chetumal from there it is an easy 1:45 drive, skip the trip from Cancun through Playa de Carmen /Tulum BS. The lodging/food/beaches and activities are good and less $$ . This is a small place and easy learn in a day or so. When the Cruise ships come back just stay south of malicon and avoid the throngs.
This video totally reminds me of ONE of my favorite quotes by George Bernard Shaw: "I dislike feeling at home when I'm abroad." Seriously, what's the point of going to another country if MOST everything there is in English and MOST places accept U.S. dollars? Where's the cultural experience of that country? I'll be moving to a small, gated community in San Antonio (between Ajijic and Chapala) a month from now and excited about living there until my lease expires in October (the owners of my rental return from Boise, ID on November 1st). I'll be looking for another location to live in Mexico during those 6 months. ¡Deseame buena suerte!
@@Trinity369xoxo As a tourist you are allowed to be in the country for 6 months straight. If you want to extend your stay you can leave the country for a few days and come back for another 6 months, and keep doing that. I have friends that did that for a couple of years. Now, if you want to avoid that, then you apply for residency and that's another process. I'm not so familiar with it anymore since they changed things a little bit some years ago.
@@chibilove8118 Gracias, Gustavo. Tu ingles es mejor que mi español, mi amigo! Estoy aprendiendo español, ahorita. During my 6 months in Mexico I plan to travel to other locations. I'll add San Miguel d Allende to my list of places I want to visit. Gracias de nuevo mi amigo. Gracias a Google Translate, también. :D
@@Trinity369xoxo The tourist visa you receive when you first arrive is good for 6 months, then you have to leave for a couple days before you can return for another 6 months.
Papa Rick That's because a lot of tourist ARE NOT interested in anything regarding culture, rather, they just wanna party, get drunk, get drugs for cheap and overall get wasted in every sense of the word, I work with tourist, I know from first hand experience, of course not everyone is as described however it's very common.........🤔🙄😳
Hey you two beauties! I'm visiting Mahahual in two weeks (cruise, surprise surprise) and was really excited when I saw your video. You never let me down and I am so thankful you posted it despite your hesitation. I will have one of those drinks in your honor!
Mahahual has 2 "faces". 1 face is the boardwalk (1 km long) with lots of restaurants mainly attending to cruise ships. Thats the Mahahual this video is about. But if you go just behind that boardwalk, and/or a little bit more south of it you will the "other face" of mahahual. With pristine and secluded beaches, with small, eco friendly places, hotels and restaurants who will charge you in pesos. And who have nothing to do with cruise ships at all. Staying north and south of mahahual you can easily avoid all cruise ship activity and have a great stay and enjoy all kind of water activities like snorkeling, diving, kayaking, stand up paddling, etc etc. Unfortunately this video does not cover that other face of Mahahual, and therefor its kind of short-sided in my opinion. Bacalar is also very beautiful, and certainly worth a visit. As I always do, I recommend visiting both places. To everybody: Just ask and I will happily recommend places to stay in both towns
It's impossible to see everything there is to see in just one week, so your'e right that we probably missed some parts of it. But if we had to choose between Bacalar and Mahahual, we'd choose Bacalar because we enjoyed all the faces we saw of that town.
I love to see your videos, because you love México and you show us about our beautiful country. In fact, I don't have had the oportunity of travel around "Rivera Maya", and this zone of the caribbean. But, I know about it thanks to you. However, I have been practicing my english, for your videos, and listenning all you have to say, in that language. Thank you guys. I'm your fan. 😃
Hi guys. I saw this a while back , but watched again (ha ha why?)...(maybe because I like watching you two). I truly appreciate you forging ahead N giving your viewers a heads up. It looks awesome. I would give it a pass because of your observations..many thanks..stay safe!
Best thing of Majahual high volume cruise tourism is it makes them keep the road so you can go to Xcalak 30 miles south and take a spectacular dive at Chinchorro, one of the best scuba diving spots in the world. Or a fly-fishing tour in “Bacalar Chico” Town too is a small beach town, much like Bacalar-by-the-beach.
We have been to Mahahual twice and loved it. The last time was Jan. 2018. It’s certainly off the beaten track and we were charmed the first time. We stayed south of town in a great place (which is no longer showing on AirBnB) and enjoyed the peace and quiet. In 2018 we could see the change coming, more money for the locals during cruise season, and worried how they manage during the off season. The mass tourism has changed the town and we probably won’t go back.
Nice to see your thoughts on staying right in town. Our only mahahual experience was on a cruise ship, we immediately took a private taxi 5 miles South of town to a private beach catering to cruisers for 40 bucks A-day. private beach, private service, all you can drink and eat, free cab ride back to the ship. it was spectacular. We've always wondered what coming down to town for a week would be like. Thanks. Perhaps Bacalar or Tulum.
I loved Mahahual! I stayed at Maha Sand Hostel & it was amazing . Beachfront with friendly staff. There were 2-3 cruise ships a day there and I was able to find a quiet part in the north side of the beach, no issues. No seaweed. I met my 2 best friend soul mates here. Highly recommended ❤️ good vibes
Hope you feel better soon. Glade you made the video, I like to see all areas that you visite good and bad....ok made for ships and day trips but very beautiful, my sister and hubby may be one of the ships right now.
I had symptoms very similar to his .. After 4 months of tests and being sick , They found a Uretral Stricture and a huge kidney stone ... Best wishes , I love your videos..
@@TangerineTravels exactly. Thats why its kind of a missed chance that you only stayed on the boardwalk = cruise ship area during your (1 week right?) stay. And did not discover the "other" side of #mahahual = which has nothing to do with cruise ship tourism. The other #mahahual is all about nature, small ecological pet friendly hotels and restaurants who only have 1 menu charging you in pesos. Lots of #watersports to do...at.. very reasonable prices charged in..again..pesos. And so you are right about the boardwalk and dollar menu and peso menu, and about the taxis...but unfortunately your vlog missed out completely on that other part of #mahahual. And therefore your conclusion in the end about "not worth a visit to # mahahual" is in my opinion not a fair one. As always welcome questions at info@hotelmayaluna.com
I found your channel 2 days ago. I just gonna say I love it. I've been watching a bunch of your adventures in Mexico. BTW I hope Jordan gets better soon and everything goes well in his recovery so I can see more of you both happy doing what you guys love doing.
Wife and I were there a little over a year ago. Really didn’t see much of the town since we were rushed from the cruise ship to buses to Mayan ruins then back to town. We had 5 minutes to get back on the boat. Hope you feel better soon.
Wow guys thanks for uploading this video. Everything looks amazing I feel like to really take all of it in I would need to spend at least a month there. To visit both bacalar and mahahual 2 weeks at least both places. Save save save 😂😂. Y’all are amazing. And I would do the same just drive there I wouldn’t want to feel the constraint of being on a cruise ship.
We have been to Costa Maya 3 times by cruise ship. It felt so isolated that we really thought it was an island. 1st time was to dive which they claimed was the only place available, around 1 mile south of the ship. The price was double the cost of every other port of call for diving. Crappy little pontoon boat that leaked gas and so windy they called off the 2nd dive. We could have swam from shore to the dive site!! Total rip off! Beautiful under world though. Next two times we decided to skip the diving and went by bus 45 minutes through a flat waste land to a beach resort that offered beach chairs and free drinks ( didn't know about that part, great surprise). Costa Maya was our least favorite port of call. I think we were diving at or near Mahahual. Sorry you're sick and hope you get better soon! We were there 3 years in a row 7,6,and 5 years ago before having land vacations in Cozumel and the West End of Roatan, Honduras. Diving of course.
I did like the video! Not everywhere is going to be your favorite place and you guys did a great job of explaining why you felt like it's not number one. I went back and watched a few older Tangerine videos recently and have to say y'alls editing has really improved since the early days! The "fun facts" thing you did in San Cristobal was great editing! And I'm sure carrying around that giant windproof camera is awkward but the sound is sooo much better. Thanks for caring about the viewer enough to do it! As for Mahahual, it almost seems like Disneyland and probably a place I wouldn't enjoy either. But I didn't really think Bacalar looked as interesting as y'all found it either. It seems like I resonated most with Tulum so far but can't wait to find out for myself!
Thank you for such a well thought out review. I own a little hotel 20 km north of the town center, and you are absolutely right about everything you said. However, Mahahual gets under your skin if you take the time to explore just a little bit more. For example, if you walk a bit further south on the Malecon, you will find that the cruise ship people usually don't go there. The beaches are exquisite there and its mostly locals and the prices are reasonable. And perhaps you didn't notice the local hangouts -- in a small town, it doesn't take lont to fine them. Its truly a place of hidden gems waiting to be discovered just by leaving the town center. We all make the same complaints about the menus and I tell my guests to stay away from any place that sounds too commercial (like Big mama's and Crazy Lobster). My favorite in NO-Och -Kay. you would have loved it.
Thank you for posting this.! We live in North Carolina and are looking for information to the best beach town to move to in Mexico that is not so crowded and more affordable and I found you.! I appreciate all the good Information you have provide on this video and I will definitely check the rest of videos you have about Mexico. Thanks.! :) Thanks.!
For sure !!! It was a great video...👍...If you don't post it l was gonna miss the beautiful landscapes...!! Give it some time in the near future it's gonna be a great touristic destination...👍
I of course appreciate the love you have for this country (our country: yours, mine, and everyone who love it), but I love the honesty over all. Hope you had a great time, get well soon! Send you love from Guadalajara. You are both so attractive and kind! ❤
Hi Jordan and Maddie. I was diagnosed to have GERDS, gastro esophageal reflux disease, years ago. I take, as prescribed by my Dr., one 20 mg omeprazol every evening before bed. I’ve not suffered acid reflux since I began the prescription. What a relief. The medication I’ve mentioned is available over the counter, no prescription required. If you frequently suffer from heartburn take one 20 mg omeprazole daily and avoid the pain. Have fun in Mexico!
@@TangerineTravels Check out Angela Vlogs. She and her Mexican boyfriend were just there - she's Swiss and they live in Madrid - they also dealt with a scorpion but without anyone getting stung. Another night at a seaside restaurant, more wildlife came to visit. Some funny videos ... if you can manage the time (I know how non-stop busy you guys are - respect). Poor Jordan, Mexico is taking its toll on him. It might sound expensive (but maybe it's not) - fly up to the Mayo Clinic in Jordan's home state of Minnesota and get a definitive diagnosis & treatment plan - otherwise he may bounce around getting different diagnoses and doing different treatments that could drag out the misery not to mention the mental wear and tear and cost more in the long run. My uncle who was a farmer from Illinois went there so it's not just for the wealthy.
Hello, just watching this now in 2021. Loving your videos! I have been to Mahahual on a cruise and once while traveling up from Belize. If you ever do return, I highly recommend staying 6-8 km south of the main area of Mahahual in an eco cabaña or house. Grab food from town and stay in a place on the water that you don’t have to even leave the property if you don’t wish to. There are some restaurants down there, and a few places with a small eatery on property. It’s so peaceful and a very different experience from town! I’ve been enjoying getting to know you recently through your travel in Mexico. My family recently relocated to Oaxaca de Juarez:). Salud!
I went on a cruise and went to Maya Chan Beach and was so disappointed that the water was NOT clear. It is only 5.3 km south of pez Quadro. It was a nice place except for the lack of clear blue water. A friend actually did an excersion to Bacalar on her trip and also had great water. Thanks for the video. I now know there really is "Cozumel clear" water in Mahahaul. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing 🙏 I enjoyed Tulum + Playa del Carmen 20yrs ago, but was so busy last I went...so I went to Puerto Morelos 5 yrs ago + loved it. Was curious about less travelled places further south but I agree, I wouldn’t like the cruise dynamic. Prefer a more rustic but authentic beach town. Will watch your Puerto Morelos vids, i can imagine it’s not too different 5 yrs later, prob still has charm compared to Playa which feels like Cancun now.
Mahahual - you guys nailed it! :) When I lived there I loved the days without the cruise ships :) Had the beach to myself :) Hope Jordan is better soon!
We went to a bank and it looked like the DMV in there so we left. Tried the ATM but it wouldn’t take my card. Baja May be different than the Yucatán. Be safe. Enjoy life.
It’s a great video, thank you for your honesty. Every time I watch your videos I feel so proud I am Mexican and fall in love more and more with my culture.. thank you Wishing Jordan a fast recovery. God bless
Good to know about this. Kinda seems like my reaction to Cozumel when I was there....everything was priced in dollars, and everything seemed to close as the cruise ships pulled away. And they really wanted those dollars...I paid for a taxi in pesos and the cab driver was SO not happy. Are the cruise ship people coming in from Costa Maya, or is there another port closer to Mahahual? I stopped at Costa Maya on a cruise ship once and wasn't impressed...didnt seem like much there, nor were there a lot of taxis ready to bring people over. Honestly, my wife and I just got off the ship and got stupid drunk at one of the bars in the port area....the good thing is that we learned that we liked mezcal lol.... Anyway, keep us posted about Jordan. We're all thinking of him and keeping our fingers crossed for a more firm diagnosis and a speedy recovery!
_"the good thing is that we learned that we liked mezcal lol...."_ I laughed out loud at this part. When it comes to mezcal, there's always a good time to be had haha. Thanks for thinking of Jordan! We still don't have a firm diagnosis yet, but signs are pointing to extremely bad acid reflux. Things are calming down a bit after some drastic diet changes.
So glad to hear that, Erica! We made one video in Veracruz (city) ruclips.net/video/xRUZgUWG9xE/видео.html but we would love to see other parts of the state, especially in the mountains.
Thank you for posting this. These are exactly the type of things I want to know before spending my time and money visiting various areas of Mexico. Hope Jordan's illness has a quick and easy fix.

Sorry to hear that! I love your Mexico travels. Makes me want to explore more than the places I've been. I can't wait to return.
Theres a gel called "Gex" is really good it fixed that problem for me at least at night
What do YOU think about Mahahual?
Tangerine Travels i love mahahual . 💚
It's one of those places that always try to scam tourists. There are better virgin beaches in Guerrero and Oaxaca.

Hay en Joy Your video Thank You Very Much
Go back!
David hand makes much of the jewelry and sells it by weight, adding a few pesos for his labor.
oh wow. so thats how you do it. very interesting!
Great video. I love Mahahual. Its so awesome.
Thanks for appreciating our honesty, Memo! So true... you can't love every place in the world. Thank goodness for diversity :)
I’m glad you decided posting the video, as it was very interesting to see your point of view. I’d have felt the same way! Sending you positive vibes from beautiful Southeast Asia and hoping that Jordan gets better soon ✌️❤️
We're so jealous of your Singapore trip, can't wait to see your upcoming videos!
Tangerine Travels Thank you!!! 😍😍😍
I appreciate that you also give reviews on places that you are not totally in love with and show drawbacks of a location. Not every place is the same, you don't paint Mexican towns with one wide brush. Thanks!
Thanks Laura! We think "telling it like it is" is the best approach. Nothing is perfect, and that's okay. It's life! :)
Glad you did post this video. It was very helpful for those of us on a cruise looking for some local culture.
Love this video because you are super truthful in your opinions and not sugar coating anything. Thanks for this. Great video.
I loved the vid, and the honesty! Loved seeing that blue water.
Pineapple town! 20 Pesos (1$USD)Ea. - fresh squeezed juice - and the elote bread 🍞 😋 🌽
I always like your videos. I hope Jordan gets better, thank you tangerines.
The beaches look incredible. Sorry that you had a rough week but thanks for sharing your adventure!
Hey please dont apologize for making this type of video! This is just as... or even MORE informative to people. It's always great to see the good AND the bad.. just so ya know! Ya know?! 😂😁👍 As always, great video!! You guys rock!♡♡
I wonder what it is like there now with no cruise ships? Have you thought about going now in 2020 with no cruise ships?
Life's not perfect, and that's okay :)
Thanks for the well wishes as well. Hopefully Jordan starts feeling better ASAP
thanks for the drone views of the coast & beach, very nice takes!
Glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for watching! 😎
Thanks for your advice. I will think twice to go there
Went to Bacalar- on a cruise excursion- AHMAZING-
Loved Baca-
Thank you for this video, because we are gonna do Mahaual , with a cheap taxi ride from the port on our next cruise-
Your video put us at peace to venture off from the cruise line alone-
Feel better soon, Jordon! I'm glad you posted this. You have to have the bad to appreciate the good. And not everyplace is fabulous. If you only posted about the places you liked, people would think you liked everything and you would lose credibility. So keep on keepin' it real!
Tkx for the video, I guess I will visit on Sunday...
Another good video as always.
Guys, if you are in Mexico city as you mentioned on your Twitter, you should come to Querétaro.
I think you're going to like it. Just give it a try.
We’d love to make it to Queretaro!!
You need to go to queretaro it beautiful.
I was pretty excited to see that you guys went there... it's one of my stops coming up ! The water looks so beautiful I'm excited
Thank you for posting. I found it very helpful as I will be taking a cruise soon and this is my last stop.
We do our best to be as honest and straightforward as possible, even if (and especially if) we don't particularly like a place.
fantastic couple. look forward to more of your videos before making my plans for the Yucatan.
Great video... I'm glad you posted this, thanks!
Mahahual has been an excellent destination during the pandemic, it changed the dynamic of the place and now the local economy if more focused on Mexican and European visitors, they have adapted well to the current situation.
I come here to dive as this area is nearest to Banco Chinchorro and Xcalac the two best dive locations on the peninsula
BRING Plenty PESOS !
Papa Rick does mexico let americans stay their as long as you want or do you have to go back to america after a certain amount of time
@@Trinity369xoxo As a tourist you are allowed to be in the country for 6 months straight.
Papa Rick
That's because a lot of tourist ARE NOT interested in anything regarding culture, rather, they just wanna party, get drunk, get drugs for cheap and overall get wasted in every sense of the word, I work with tourist, I know from first hand experience, of course not everyone is as described however it's very common.........🤔🙄😳
Hey you two beauties! I'm visiting Mahahual in two weeks (cruise, surprise surprise) and was really excited when I saw your video. You never let me down and I am so thankful you posted it despite your hesitation. I will have one of those drinks in your honor!
So insightful! I had NO idea! Had been debating between Bacalar & MahaHUAL & this video helped a lot! I agree with your points 100%! New fan!
Guy's I just find out about your channel and I love it!!!!
Thanks for sharing you experiences and adventures, be safe and keep making memories.
Welcome, Dono! Hope you continue to like our videos and adventures :)
@@TangerineTravels yes I like them and I already subscribe to your channel and watch like 10 of your videos!!!!!
You guys truly make the most informative videos. This is all very helpful information for a traveler.
Best thing of Majahual high volume cruise tourism is it makes them keep the road so you can go to Xcalak 30 miles south and take a spectacular dive at Chinchorro, one of the best scuba diving spots in the world. Or a fly-fishing tour in “Bacalar Chico”
Town too is a small beach town, much like Bacalar-by-the-beach.
Super helpful. Glad you posted
Very informative for people who want to open a business! Thank you.😄
Nice to see your thoughts on staying right in town.
Also loved that there was so many locals in the bars at night. The stars at night there are beautiful! And the diving is amazing!
Hope you feel better soon.
Glade you made the video, I like to see all areas that you visite good and bad....ok made for ships and day trips but very beautiful, my sister and hubby may be one of the ships right now.
Thank you!
Mahahual is an amazing place for a one-day cruise stop. Hope you guys have a good time if you make it there :)
I had symptoms very similar to his .. After 4 months of tests and being sick , They found a Uretral Stricture and a huge kidney stone ... Best wishes , I love your videos..
Oh dang! That sounds really rough. Thanks for sharing! We'll ask the doctor if this might be what's going on with Jordan too
Great watching and viewing your videos been to Mexico many times but love your trips around well done
Hello Tangerine Travelers... thank you for your dedication and showing us all around MX. I first saw one of your videos and haven't stopped watching..
That is awesome! Thanks for watching our channel JC!
Thanks for the video! Going to Mahahual,,, good to know what I’m getting into
Wow, gorgeous beach and water!!! You two are adorable. Enjoy!!💕💕💕
That view is tough to beat!
Great Information, great video and good to know. I think I would love to experience this town.
I like how the 5th out of five tangerine mobiles for your 4 out of 5 mobile score made a buzzer noise instead of a "plop" :D. Nice attn to detail!
Thanks.! :)
Thanks.!
DEFINITELY check out Hayhu Beach Club in Mahahual. Great place, not a ton of people, and absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for the recommendation!
The honesty and thoughtfulness in this video is great! Subscribing. (I’m on my way to Mahahual so your experience is helpful.)
Good tip asking for the menu in Spanish and Pesos. Crazy how many cruise ships are in such a small town!
Have you been to Holbox??? It's beautiful and the vibe is very unique!!
We haven't yet, but I'm sure it won't be long
@@TangerineTravels Check out Angela Vlogs.
Thank you, I wont be going lol
Appreciate the details! ❤
I'm on guadalajara my wife from cali. I'm trying to make her get here soon hope I meet you guys one day. So happy you guys keep going around mexico.
Very nice place Mahahual ❤️ México 🇲🇽 a place to visit a place to stay for ever!!
OMG, those drinks look amazing!
It was hard not to get one every day lol
Wow! You guys are looking great!!! You should review your first video to see how far you’ve come. Jordan I’m sure you’ll bounce back!
Thank you for sharing your experiences. It helps plan and know what to expect.
Looked up the Cantaritos recipe! Will be trying one with my wife soon! Thank you!
They're super tasty. Enjoy!
Love your honest review. These "cruise towns" are just that, towns that cater to cruise lines.
I got pesos from a Pemex in Baja last time I was there. The attendant was happy to do it....not sure if that is an option where you are....?
Thanks for the tip! We haven't tried getting money from a Pemex before
We went to a bank and it looked like the DMV in there so we left. Tried the ATM but it wouldn’t take my card. Baja May be different than the Yucatán. Be safe. Enjoy life.
Thanks for trying this place out for us. Really enjoyed the video.
It’s a great video, thank you for your honesty. Every time I watch your videos I feel so proud I am Mexican and fall in love more and more with my culture.. thank you
Wishing Jordan a fast recovery. God bless
The Video we've been waiting for! :)
I love your videos and travel vicariously through you. I found this video informative and the quality top notch! I hope Jordan gets well soon!
That is so awesome, thanks Nevraldi! and thanks for the well wishes too :)
Appreciate your honest opinion and positivity!
Tecate used to (maybe still does) put on a radio ad saying, "Come visit!! *_But never on Sundays_* ".
Hope you get better jordan take care.
Thanks, Adrian!
Maybe the video wasn't exciting, but it was interesting. I found it so honest and real and I appreciate the authenticity!
I like that you provide an all around view. Thanks. I've always wanted to go to Veracruz, if you guys go please put up a video.
Thanks for sharing it’s beautiful 😍
