The Incredible 'Double' Bass Line of Walk On The Wildside!

- This is the main bass riff from the song Walk On The Wild Side by Lou Reed. The bass line is originally played by the legendary Herbie Flowers and is actually made up of TWO bass lines - the lower on double bass, the upper on electric bass. So here's a way of getting around that using two hand tapping.

Herbie Flowers' bass lines on War of the Worlds were a great influence on me and it's good to see him recognised here.
I have played this song hundreds of times.
During the '80s and '90s in Key West at the Bull, my band would do an extended version and get volunteer girls to come on stage to sing the "do ta do" parts, give them shots and eventually turn it into a wet T shirt contest!

Originally it was done with an upright double bass and an electric but it has been done live in a similar fashion. I see a link pasted here, let me see if I can find a live recording done by a single performer.
