He’s wayyy less problematic then the beauty community however I do want to point out that he did put the vegan symbol (you can’t just put that symbol on your products, it has to be approved) on his hair products and they were not even vegan. They contain carmine (sp?). Not hating but as someone that was vegan for years, it’s definitely upsetting.
my hair is naturally very dark brown and i did my own silver ombre by bleaching it once every 3 months for a year and then alternating metalic blue and purple dyes until they faded to silver. and then i met Naomi Smalls and she complemented my silver ombre and i said i did it myself and she was like "i see you" 😭❤️

Well, morw like purple and yellow. Complimentary colours kind of cancel each other out and give you grey-ish tones, also known as coloured black in watercolour circles (because in watercolours at least sometimes you still get some undertones of either).
T18 is literally the only toner any Sally’s employee has ever recommended to me and I had no idea why it wouldn’t work until I started watching you, Brad. So THANK YOU 🙏🏻🙏🏻
as a sally employee- we don’t really have other options that are marketed as toners. I hope your sally will use the full wella toner line to give you the best one for what you need bc they do different things. however I will tell you, most of us do know, T18 is not an end all be all😇
I went into Sally’s yesterday to buy a face mask , and the Sally’s employee was helping this girl with yellow blonde highlights and brown hair , she recommended t18 and I just cringed because her hair was no where near a level 10!! the lady then asked how long she should leave it on for and the employee with the most atrocious hair just shrugged and said “idk I’m not a hair stylist” 😳 my moms a hair stylist so I’ve only ever bought hair dye from Sally’s in my rebellious emo phase and to buy hair for my mom to make hair extensions for me. And let’s just say I’m so blessed to get my hair done for free.
I love how Brad gives constructive criticism especially when he’s not too confident in the whatever formula someone is using but if it ends up turning out well he’ll be honest and be really happy for that person. As someone who has dyed their own hair many times, going from black to a lighter color is hard. I have a red undertone to my hair, so it ends up strawberry blonde/orange when I bleach it. I thankfully went ginger after going black, so it was not terrible
amberiscool no when you put blue toners over yellow hair you’re more than likely gonna turn somewhat green. maybe not bright green but more than likely a tint of green will be there. i also am a licensed hairdresser and it’s the color wheel. purple technically cancels yellow. most of the time you want to have both a purple and a blue toner mixed so you cancel both the yellow out and still get your silver/ white blonde. some brands are different though.
Some people like the challenge of doing their hair at home its wearable art and when ya do it yourself and it comes out really good you feel better about yourself rather than how some might feel getting their hair done at a salon. I'm always changing up my hair and I love it when people ask if I go to a salon but I've always done it myself or had my sister do it.

T18 is literally the only toner any Sally’s employee has ever recommended to me and I had no idea why it wouldn’t work until I started watching you, Brad. So THANK YOU 🙏🏻🙏🏻
as a sally employee- we don’t really have other options that are marketed as toners. I hope your sally will use the full wella toner line to give you the best one for what you need bc they do different things. however I will tell you, most of us do know, T18 is not an end all be all😇

I went into Sally’s yesterday to buy a face mask , and the Sally’s employee was helping this girl with yellow blonde highlights and brown hair , she recommended t18 and I just cringed because her hair was no where near a level 10!! the lady then asked how long she should leave it on for and the employee with the most atrocious hair just shrugged and said “idk I’m not a hair stylist” 😳 my moms a hair stylist so I’ve only ever bought hair dye from Sally’s in my rebellious emo phase and to buy hair for my mom to make hair extensions for me. And let’s just say I’m so blessed to get my hair done for free.

As someone who has dyed their own hair many times, going from black to a lighter color is hard. I have a red undertone to my hair, so it ends up strawberry blonde/orange when I bleach it. I thankfully went ginger after going black, so it was not terrible

amberiscool no when you put blue toners over yellow hair you’re more than likely gonna turn somewhat green. maybe not bright green but more than likely a tint of green will be there. i also am a licensed hairdresser and it’s the color wheel. purple technically cancels yellow. most of the time you want to have both a purple and a blue toner mixed so you cancel both the yellow out and still get your silver/ white blonde. some brands are different though.

Some people like the challenge of doing their hair at home its wearable art and when ya do it yourself and it comes out really good you feel better about yourself rather than how some might feel getting their hair done at a salon. I'm always changing up my hair and I love it when people ask if I go to a salon but I've always done it myself or had my sister do it.
Some people like doing it themselves, its an artistic outlet(myself included)

I don't know why primary school teaches outdated color theories.
When working with pigments, you want to have a grasp on what is called "subtractive color theory." Pigments absorb color and reflect others. So when you mix, you are "taking away" colored light. It helps to fiddle around with digital colors, which operate in "additive color theory."
If you go into a digital art program and select the color picker, you may find that there are RGB options. Slide the bars on green and red all the way up, and you get yellow. So in additive color theory, yellow adds red and green light. In subtractive color theory, yellow *takes away blue light.*
Now slide all the color bars down, and slide blue all the way up. This is the color of blue that I refer to when talking about mixing blue and yellow. In subtractive color theory, blue *takes away red and green light.*
So when you mix blue and yellow, you are taking away red light, green light and blue light, which makes black or gray.
When you make green, you want to mix yellow and *cyan,* which you can see in additive color theory when you slide the blue and green bars all the way up. The mixture of yellow and cyan makes green, because yellow *takes away blue,* and cyan *takes away red,* leaving green.
I believe you can play with subtractive color theory in an art program if you put one color on one layer, and another color over the first in a different layer, and set the layer on top to "multiply."
