She's probably got body dysmorphia, it's one of the worst mental disorders you can have. Makes you really anxious and depressed about your appearance. People might think you're vein but it's the opposite. She's brave to get on camera with her insecurities, even admitting to them (which is an admission most people with BDD won't do, you don't speak about it with anyone, def not docs, unless they're dermatologists/cosmetic surgeons, no psychs, cause, yes, then people will notice more and you'll be more depressed/anxious; plus people will tell you to 'get over it' and that you 'look fine', which is extremely unhelpful but just reinforces how you should never go out, never mention it, esp if you're pretty to them like she is).

Gotta say, after 10-15 years of home colouring and using box dye, i finally took notice of what Brad says and used proper hair dye, started bottom layers and worked my way up. It worked SO freeking well. Really dark brown to bright red in 1 go without bleaching first because i used proper hairdresser dye. Hair feels AMAZING and not dry. Never ever will use box dye again. To anyone who dyes your hair, hair dresser dye is so worth doing instead of box dye.
Can I ask where you are and what products you used? I can't get in touch with my hair stylist anymore as I don't use Facebook anymore and don't have her number, so might have to resort to home dying it. My hairs previously bleached at the end and then I have a few cm of my roots come through.
if you have a sally beauty store near you, you should be set. for bleach and developer, i recommend either ion color brilliance bleach and ion color brilliance sensitive scalp developer. has worked wonderfully for my hair time and time again with minimal damage and great lift. both ion and wella make wonderful permanent color lines, and there are various demi-permanent color lines at sally’s. (i personally use arctic fox hair color for the brightest very pigmented fashion colors)
Why is everyone using too little bleach 😂 even when I was a stupid teenager and bleached/dyed my hair, I always made sure to use a shit tonne so at least it wouldn't get splotchy 🤷🏼
Paris Johnson ehhh... yes and no lol Less damage to the pieces that don’t get covered. But anything bleach touches is going to get some kind of damage. If you use enough to consistently cover your hair and do it correctly (without over processing it), overall it will be less damaging because you’re not going to have to use more bleach or color to go back over it to fix it. Adding more bleach can lead to over lapping which is what causes the most damage.
I would say it’s the boxes fault... you think that 1 box = 1 head of hair and buying like a large bottle of developer and a large pouch of bleach isn’t that available to buy at most places

Use semi/demi permanent colour, it washes out after a certain number of washes, and doesn't damage hair because it creates a layer over the hair and doesn't penetrate into the hair like permanent hair dye.
The first one HURT ME, her hair was so good at the beginning and then she blotched it, her friend was so insecure bc she knew it was going to be a whole horrible mess I'm sad
I agree. It could've even looked nice to just color deposit some purple/pastel pink over her initial hair (which looked great like you said). Yeah it would've been darker, but no damage and it would've just washed out over a few weeks.

I just realised that my hairdresser told me once that the red box dye lifted the black dye that was in my hair previously when I came in to fix that red. But what was I expecting when the black was covering a fucked up bleaching job that same hairdresser did (no, I won't go to her for any kind of dyeing job again)

I permed my hair a few months back and I seriously read articles and watched at least 8 to 10 videos just to make sure I had as much information I thought I needed and I got to see successful perms to get a good idea of what to do and I watched some failed perm videos which gave me a good idea of what not to do. I had the same insecurity about my forehead because all my life the mocking and names I got called for mine. Fortunately this year I really dove into self love work and fully embrace how I am now. I hope everyone can learn to love themselves just the way they are 🥰

I brush each section as I apply bleach or dye. You can't really pull out good sections without constantly brushing/combing things out. I think they should just start teaching this in high school chemistry.

Scarlet eh I normally do my hair myself. Cutting and dying wise but almost never bleach. Although there was a time I went and professionally got my hair bleached, it was horrible. She washed my hair, then bleached it, but she didnt tone it or anything and charged me like $90. I normally do likethe actual coloring at home because its my time and my hair doesnt alwwys hold color in so instead of spending like $40 every other week I just buy the color I want and play with it how Id like. I think sometimes we forget that as long as you are careful, you can dye your hair at home. Just dont bleach it.. Same with cutting it, just be prepaired that you might not like it.
I was too scared to do anything really radical so these videos just make me wish I'd tried something crazier, just once. I've used temporary bright dyes a couple of times and bleached a tiny bit of my hair once, I regret never trying to bleach my whole hair and fucking it up.

Don't do it gurl. I regretted even box dyeing and chemically straightening my hair years ago, now I got the best looking virgin ginger hair again. But it took a long time to recover from the damage and growing it again (had to cut it into a bob because the ends were so fucked).
I had a little bit of a hair disaster when i tried bleaching my hair last year. Now i have an even brown color and i like it much better than the died, orange-blonde hair. I searched up bleach hair fails to make myself feel better, and that made me find you. So happy that I can warn people about bleaching hair at home now and that i’ve learned from my mistakes:)
rezö niçle so when you put your shampoo on, the bubbles it makes are the lather. This lather effectively soaks through the molecules and reaches more of your hair not just what it’s applied to. Bleach doesn’t do this. You have to apply it to each strand you want it on really (this isn’t like a proper explanation just what I’ve picked up lol)
I've been doing my own hair for about 35 years .... I've never really had a hair fail.... But I really don't understand how some mess up so bad when they have the internet at their finger tips when for most of my life (cutting and dying) I didn't.
My theory is: too much time spent looking at photo-shopped pictures of women with a salon hair job, not enough time left to read the warnings on the box and research the no-nos of bleaching your hair.
I would say box bleach more so than box dye. Box dye isn't the best but isn't the worst thing ever especially if demipermanent, box bleach is THE DEVIL

I think it is mostly for Dramatics LOL so we can be entertained but I mean I do find it strange that people will do serious things to their hair without doing research. I permed my hair a few months back and I seriously read articles and watched at least 8 to 10 videos just to make sure I had as much information I thought I needed and I got to see successful perms to get a good idea of what to do and I watched some failed perm videos which gave me a good idea of what not to do. I mean this isn't 20 years ago when there wasn't information and how to videos out there but nowadays it's so easy just to look up a couple videos so I do kind of get where the frustration comes from Lol People ruining beautiful hair unnecessarily

There’s a lot of hair coloring/bleaching videos on RUclips but some are hard to follow along. Brad makes things easier to understand. I’m in cosmetology and he’s videos make the class a lot easier.

I have a lot of personal experience with body dysmorphia and it’s such a cruel trip having your brain completely lie to you about part of how you look to the point where it takes up that much of your attention. I hope she’s able to move past that because her forehead is completely normal.

Leslea Bandtlow you’re supposed to brush it gently to get out any knots or tangles. If you bleach tangles/knots then the bleach job won’t be even.

I brush each section as I apply bleach or dye. You can't really pull out good sections without constantly brushing/combing things out. I think they should just start teaching this in high school chemistry.

Scarlet eh I normally do my hair myself. Cutting and dying wise but almost never bleach. Although there was a time I went and professionally got my hair bleached, it was horrible. She washed my hair, then bleached it, but she didnt tone it or anything and charged me like $90. I normally do likethe actual coloring at home because its my time and my hair doesnt alwwys hold color in so instead of spending like $40 every other week I just buy the color I want and play with it how Id like. I think sometimes we forget that as long as you are careful, you can dye your hair at home. Just dont bleach it.. Same with cutting it, just be prepaired that you might not like it.

Don't do it gurl. I regretted even box dyeing and chemically straightening my hair years ago, now I got the best looking virgin ginger hair again. But it took a long time to recover from the damage and growing it again (had to cut it into a bob because the ends were so fucked).
I had a little bit of a hair disaster when i tried bleaching my hair last year. Now i have an even brown color and i like it much better than the died, orange-blonde hair. I searched up bleach hair fails to make myself feel better, and that made me find you. So happy that I can warn people about bleaching hair at home now and that i’ve learned from my mistakes:)

What does lather means
yessssss merchhhhhhh
rezö niçle so when you put your shampoo on, the bubbles it makes are the lather. This lather effectively soaks through the molecules and reaches more of your hair not just what it’s applied to. Bleach doesn’t do this. You have to apply it to each strand you want it on really (this isn’t like a proper explanation just what I’ve picked up lol)

I've been doing my own hair for about 35 years .... I've never really had a hair fail.... But I really don't understand how some mess up so bad when they have the internet at their finger tips when for most of my life (cutting and dying) I didn't.
My theory is: too much time spent looking at photo-shopped pictures of women with a salon hair job, not enough time left to read the warnings on the box and research the no-nos of bleaching your hair.
Brad’s nightmare is probably someone kidnapping him and putting box dye or box bleach on his dry hair.
I would say box bleach more so than box dye. Box dye isn't the best but isn't the worst thing ever especially if demipermanent, box bleach is THE DEVIL
