It's one of the hottest days in UK history, I have the fan on full blast, drinking iced coffee, watching you with your wonderful knitting projects and planning a huge rainbow sweater inspired by your waistcoat! I have just discovered your channel, Kate, and am binge watching all the back catalogue. Your genuineness and the way you speak directly to your viewers is a rare and beautiful thing. At times when I need a bit of encouragement in creative projects, there are are a group of RUclips people in my head that at I refer to, i.e. What would Jenny Doan or Donna Jordan or Paul Sellers do? You have taken a special place there along side Mothie (my mum) because your approach ( in my imagination) will include problem solving, wise words and most probably a cup of tea! Thank you .
I have a big smile on my face . lovely cat Rita purring and laying in the little basket. thank you for teaching me how to cast off. I'm a fervent knitter but never seen it this way. ( forgotten, I think. ) chemo brain they say. the sweater for Agnes is beautiful. and the green quilt.......love it thanks Kate, take care.
I've not knitted much over the years...worked many, many hours in nursing. I love the cast off method...now to remember. Agnes is precious and such beautiful sweaters. I love so many projects. Grateful I found you about another ago! I am from Missouri but my ancestors are very English.😊
My cat Greta has been watching Rita with me. She says hello to Rita. Love your knitting. Agnes will love her new jumper. I remember when I was a small child in the 50s my Aunty knitted a couple of angora bolleros for me. One pink and the other green. They were so soft and fluffy and I loved them. Funny the things you remember as a child. I'm sure Agnes will remember her jumpers from you with love.
Thank you so much for demonstrating the stretchy cast-off. It is so simple; all the other methods I’ve tried are much more complicated. Like you, I always have 3 or 4 projects on the needles; it keeps things more interesting that way. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us.
Thank you Kate for this knitting video. I am a knitter and love your way of bind off. The sweaters and waistcoat are looking fabulous ! Knitting greetings from me, Lily. 🌸
I wish yr videos were longer. They just seem so short. I wait all week to see u. I know, I'm being selfish but I just enjoy watching u so much cuz it's just so peaceful. Luv n stuff. Us 3.
Hi Kate and cat Rita, really enjoyed seeing your knitting projects, I'm not a knitter however enjoy watching others do it. Cat Rita looked so comfy in her basket purring away. Take care and wishing a happy week 🌹🌹🌹
Hi Kate, i am doing Kitchener's Stitch on the 10 PAIRS off socks that i have made over the last month or so and practice is most definitely better. I think that my crafts would suit living in your homely home, because i had a wonderful mum like yours, she taught me every craft she could throughout her life and of course left me with a love of all things hand made. It's funny how growing up everyone used to make fun at me varying crafts i had in my school bag, now they want to know how to do my various accomplishments, from the sewing a button on to knitting and embroidery or cross stitch. I don't know about you Kate, but i feel so very lucky to have had such a gifted lady as my mum. I had my heart in my mouth at you cutting into that knitting, even though it shouldn't be able to unravel, it still makes me shiver inside at the thought of the time that it took to knit and that it may end up on a sticky wicket, lol. Thank you flower for your very calm, relaxing voice and the wonderful insight into what has made your home the last homely house. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil Village, Scotland
Hello Kate, my name is Karen and I have recently found your chann el. I just wanted to say what a beautiful human being you are. Soo inspirational! I love everything you do. I am a crafter myself, I quilt, make clothes, makeup bags, things like that aprons and such. I knit and crochet, Mosaic, I love my garden. I work full time as a Nurse but am off with health problems. Since finding you I have found lots of my unfinished projects and feel nspired to finish them now. I'm a new Nanna so am very excited for the future with my new grandson You have a wonderful family. Please keep doing what you do, your work is fabulous!! Just finished some oven gloves now onto knitting a baby cardigan. Take care xx
Cat Rita says she will gladly let you continue to knit as long as you give her a cozy basket to sleep in. I love your knitting so much. Sweaters are my favorite things to wear and now that I am quite old, I find I can wear them much longer into the warmer weather than I did as a young woman. The pattern you are using for Agnes's sweaters is beautiful. I can see where you would like her to have one in every color. Have a Blessed day.
Kate, was I alone in holding my breath when you cut into your knitting?✂️ 😱 Love the knitting you do for Agnes, lucky girl to have such a talented Grandma. Love ya Kate 😘❤️🇬🇧
“Where’s Arne when you need him?” I loved that comment! I too am approaching a moment of steeking, on a cardigan front. This will be the second time for me. The first one was on a lovely stranded yoke sweater, a perennial favourite although the finishing was not very good on that steek. This time I am going to knit facings (as per our pals Arne and Carlos) for a much neater job. The cast-off looks like “Jeny’s Suprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off,” by Jeny Staiman. Brilliant, I like (and use) it a lot! It works on ribbing, too.
Hi, I hope you had a fabulous day! I was working in my sewing room today and now I get to sit and watch your videos. I still nursing a head cold but I'm getting better. I hope you have a blissful week ahead. Thank you for posting this video.
Kate: Your jumpers are all beautiful!! I love that pink, for Agnes. I had slippers like your tea cozy! Interesting how Rita's fur forms a line down the back of her head! Such a beautiful cat!! I love all your videos, love your projects. Take care.
😂 Rita isn’t going to take “no” for an answer! She knows Norma used to lay in the middle of your work and she expects nothing less including lots of scratches and rubs. I love how she snuggled right down in the basket for a cat nap after she had the proper amount of attention! I had a calico with very similar markings who loved to sit behind my sewing machine and watch me. I still miss her! By the way, I’m in love with your tea cosy; might have to make one! I still haven’t worked up the courage to do a steek but watching you, I’m thinking I might knit a large swatch with a steek in the middle to try the technique. Happy knitting Kate!
Greetings from Henniker,New Hampshire ! And we are the only Henniker in the world ! I found you most recently when looking for more creative quilt sites and up your video came. I absolutely love it and feel like I am visiting in person. And I see you have done so for 5 years - as time allows I shall take a look at those as well. Thank you for your wonderful programs ….. and I love the cats !
I love your videos. You are so relaxing to listen to and watch. Your videos keep me company when I sit outside or have dinner alone. I just found your videos a few days ago. Where is your video where you show how you made your square blanket with the long in the round needles? Thank you for your generosity in sharing all your ideas. PS Hello from Texas

Oh my goodness - isn’t Agnes such a little darling and her jumpers are just the best. As a knitter of nearly 60 years I have loved this episode. Thank you so much and you made the steeling look easy! 👏👏👏
😊Thank you Kate...finishing with cat Rita purring in a basket was a little bit of magic. I burst out laughing when I saw the tea cozy; I grew up with those being used...at the cottage, my grandparent's Sunday dinner and at home. I can't believe I am putting this out there but somewhere there is a picture of me as a child with my ears sticking out the holes for handle and spout and I'm wearing the cozy as a hat...proud childhood moment.😄 I don't think I'm in possession of one today...I shall have to remedy that! Nothing keeps a brown Betty or bone China pot warm like a cozy and yes, a pom-pom is necessary for removal...jolly too! 😊🇨🇦
I enjoyed and learning a new way to cast off- Thank you, Kate-and the other term, skinking(?), was great! i’ve never worry about cutting knit so that’s new, also- - it’s delightful to learn and your fingers up close, doing your cutting- yikes! i don’t know but you give me power! Thank you, Kate, and now I can ! 👏🥰Sandra Myer
You’re very brave, cutting into your knitting. Glad it worked. My mum knitted me a tea cosy many years ago and I’ve repaired it many times until it was past repair. I’ve now knitted one myself but kept mum’s pompon as a reminder

Oh love the way you cast off going to do that from now on thank you Kate!!!! Great watching from the lime green sofa Thanks for sharing hugs Liz x
Kate I SO enjoy watching all the beautiful knitting and quilting that you do-I find so much inspiration and love the calm way you go about teaching and showing your viewers the “how to”! I recently received a stemcell transplant and I am limited to going out in public, so by watching your videos, it helps keep me busy trying different crafts. Thank you for that!
I love your tea cosy! I made one like that about 10 years ago and it still gets used regularly. Agnes’ pink jumper is charming. Good luck with the steeking. 🌷
Thanks for a wonderful time as always 😊 😘 ❤️ muahhhh and smooch smooch. You are a constant source of inspiration and Bless you and yours! Prayers for everyone everywhere 🙏 ❤️

Remember your tea cozy? Oh my, yes! I added a liner of old down duvet inside mine & it keeps the pot warm for an hour or more! Glad to see you looking so well Kate.
Oh my goodness, you "steeking" (aka CUTTING ") into that beautiful knitting was soooo painful to watch!!! Then your pink icelandic wool sweater for Agnes brightened my mood. Give loves and kisses to my favorite CAT Rita 🤩.
Is it possible for me to tell you that I love your voice? Your whole energy makes me think of my late grandmother, whom taught me to knit.
There’s nothing quite as lovely to wear as something your grandmother has made for you.
Rita, settled in that basket and purring contentedly, made a lovely ending to today's video. 🌼
Your little granddaughter is a beautiful little girl!!!! One can say your 'rich' now! Children are the reason for life!
Certainly enjoyed spending time with you this Sunday afternoon, 🌷🌹
I wish I could knit well enough to make garments. Kate, thanks for sharing what keeps you busy in your days....

Just finished some oven gloves now onto knitting a baby cardigan. Take care xx
I learned that cast-off as Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off from a video by Cat Bordhi. I use it almost exclusively now.
Me, too! But I save 1 step by lifting both sts off the right needle at once.
Oh how gorgeous the tea cosy is, my Nanna had one just like it
Kate, your granddaughter is sooooo darling. She needs to model in the craft books!!
Oh I adore the jumpers you have made for your Grandaughter she does look pretty in the golden one! Nice!
