Kate, I've been meaning to do a Terry Rowland inspired colorwash quilt for a while. Your video helped push me forward, and inspired me to make a such a quilt ffom my scrap bins. I like that wonky is okay. In fact I'm taking that idea just a little further. My blocks are made up of various size scraps--where I'm not worrying about the size of tye blocks right now. I've made about 55 blocks so far in about a dozen sizes. I've done a couple of scrapy layouts with those blocks and I am loving the scappy, non-traditional way they are beginning to come together. I know that I'll probably cut down the number different sizes to make it easier to piece, but for now I'm loving the organic process of making the blocks. Your calm, unhurried manner have inspired me. Thank you. BTW I've seen the video with your final quilt layout-- beautiful!

Oh my gosh I discovered her about a month ago and started sewing blocks. I realized a lot of my fabric is very bright and child friendly. So mine will probably be a donation quilt for Project Linus instead of a color wash quilt. But I love how she organizes and cuts her pieces to prepare to sew.
Lovely to have found you Kate. I did as you suggested and went to see Terry first, then came back to you. Love you both and feel inspired to tackle Mount Scrapmore tomorrow! Thanks.

I bought a magnetic whiteboard on wheels (and magnets) for my design board as I don’t have wall space. So in theory since it’s double sided I can have 2 quilts 44x68 inches in the design phase 😉 This is giving me ideas about how to play with my scraps 🎉
Sounds great but I dont even think our one bed flat could fit that in. My husband seems to want space as well as all my craft ideas and UFOs I wonder why?

Thank you for your wonderful company and ambience in my sewing room 💕
Anna does such a wonderful job at presenting your friendly channel. I take great delight in following you over the years 🤗💕🇦🇺
I saw Terry’s video a while ago. The project was intriguing. I love seeing your version. Pretty in your dress, Kate. And beautiful Anna.
I love to do jigsaw puzzles and this quilt construction is very alluring. I think a quilt project has just been inspired. Huge thanks, Kate!🦌💌❤️☹️🧵🧶🧩
I really enjoyed that video … for a lot of reasons. I learned and took a trip home at the same time. Thank you.
I watched Terry lay her blocks out and when she got ro the last part I thought: how on earth is she going to get from yellow to violet? But it worked! Looking forward to seeing more if this and all your other projects.
yes - I watched that too - I need to make a LOT more blocks and then I can start 'painting' too! xxx
Checking out Terry now. Thanks for sharing her with us.

That is awesome
I hope to live many many more years so I can make things you’ve inspired! I love you!🦌💌❤️✌️🙏👍🥰
What a wonderful idea! Love that Anna has become a quilter! Would love to see a natural dye series next year.
Kate, I found Terry Roland's videos about a month ago! I love her selvage projects and the scrap blocks like you are making in this video.
Thanks malenie
Lovely to have found you Kate. I did as you suggested and went to see Terry first, then came back to you. Love you both and feel inspired to tackle Mount Scrapmore tomorrow! Thanks.
Dying fabric is so fun. I have used dried onion skin, the outer layer that is peeled off. I have used rusty bits of metal and course salt. Eco dying with leaves is amazing. Love watching the two of you.
I bought a magnetic whiteboard on wheels (and magnets) for my design board as I don’t have wall space. So in theory since it’s double sided I can have 2 quilts 44x68 inches in the design phase 😉
This is giving me ideas about how to play with my scraps 🎉
What a wonderful idea, got to admit, I’ve been intrigued about magnets from centuries ago :)
Sounds great but I dont even think our one bed flat could fit that in. My husband seems to want space as well as all my craft ideas and UFOs I wonder why?
@@pamelaselway6669 I live in a 1 bed flat the space needed for my whiteboard is 22 by 50 inches and it makes a great screen to hide my messy work table in the corner of my living room.
Sat at here on my birthday with a glass of bubbles enjoying your video as look forward to more quilting during my 49th year. Happy birthday also to Gordon Akers
Happy Birthday! xxx
Loved this video i have so much scraps of fabric and will have more once i have finished my project at the moment however i can do a bit at a time . i received my calendar you both have worked so hard each month is fantastic you have brought sunshine all year round into our homes Thank you Kate and Anna.
thank you! I'm pleased you like it - Anna and I work hard to get each image just right! we are already talking about next years! xxx
I love to watch how you quilt and put colors n designs together.
I also love your accent.
You’re a great teacher.
I wish I’d live near you.
I love Terry's work. I was so amazed at how she sewed the whole quilt top together with all the pieces sticking together at the end. It was so amazing to see. I love how you say:" it's best not to think too hard about" totally agree, however that is not how my brain works - I really can do random chaos - I can do "orderly chaos" but it's still hard. I need to work on that :) You have such great color sense.
How interesting this is going to be 600 blocks, WOW now I’m going to check out Terry’s video. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Thank you Kate & Anna for such lovely videos. After a long & stressful day at work, your videos are so relaxing & inspiring!
Thank you, Kate! I love this method! I visited Terry’s channel and am now subscribed to her channel as well.
Stay well!

Happy birthday!!!!! Enjoy!
Yup- a visit with Kate is the best gift ever!!
🎂
I love these small blocks for the quilts you can design - you find lots of new ideas to put it with your design boards - great place to put those up and can see eventually- Kate, i feel like you are standing with me and pointing ideas in progress- Thanks once again! Fun to do this!
Another wonderful, gentle video. Thank you.
Yes Yes Yes - I'm currently investigating the whole thing about growing some plants to use as dyes. I'll look forward to this.
Thanks for being such a mindful part of my week.
Thanks for passing on your new obsession! I’m now hooked on Terry and can’t wait to play with my scraps.
I've been doing a lot of crumb quilting lately. I love this idea to use up some of the "larger" pieces. Thanks for sharing Kate. I'm look forward to the spring dying adventure!!
What is crumb quilting?
its just another term for 'scrap' so - a bit like this! xxx
@@agnesjamont6415 Sometimes the pieces are a bit smaller but it is a bit like this.
How Delightful. I've only just recently watched Terri's videos as well. I was very inspired and have done up a fair amount myself.
