Kate. I must tell you that you are so soothing to my soul. I lost vision in my eye back in October. Since then I have been struggling with various problems. I found that listening to your videos on RUclips helped me calm down. My sight was restored just recently but I felt like you were with me through it all. You made me feel like everything would be all right and it was. Thank you and sending you many blessings.

I’m so thankful for your videos Kate. This one came on, and Ian, my three year old said (quite wistfully), “that’s my grandma. Mom, that’s my grandma!” My little ones don’t have grandmas, and so your videos bring such a gentle, lovely energy for them to listen to with me. Thank you.

When I see this kind of video where you are using a spinnng wheel, I always think to myself...who thought about how to design, make and of course use a machine like this...there were some very clever people around in the past...including reverend Spooner...because I do like a spit of binning...

The world is so fraught with terrible news and I discovered Kate and with her chat as well as spinning wool series I am made whole once again. Kate when your spinning again, think about putting some of those beautiful hanks you card into the shop! I know I would love to knit with it.. Now when you told us Norma passed over the Rainbow Bridge, I sat and cried for the longest time and when I see her I still shed tears, I never saw a car with such adoration on her features as Norma did with you...Now that was Love.. I just popped in to say I am one of those who sit on the Lime Green Sofa and like I said when life gets chaotic I go to The Last Homely House to find Kate and listen to her wonderful chats. THANK YOU for being in my life, a most wonderful gift to have at any time.

Kate, my grandfather was a blacksmith, and he made beautiful spinning wheels. He had 5 daughters, who all had children. He starting making a spinning wheel for each girl, starting with the oldest and working his way down. He passed away before he got through the list, and being the youngest granddaughter I didn’t receive a wheel. Thankfully, a wonderful cousin gave me his mothers spinning wheel! I’m excited to see you spinning -and I just might oil mine up and take it for a spin!! Thanks❤️

We went up to the hey loft and arranged the hey bales into rooms for our spaceship. The Spinning wheel you have that you are working on. We found an old one out in the barn somewhere. Creativity means a lot to me too. I tell my family that it ‘calms my mind’ . I’m lucky enough to be able to do something creative every day, it’s not much but my mind needs it and I love it. I crochet and knit baby things…… small and easy to focus on. I give them all away to Baby Basics or similar outlets. My daughter is a health visitor and she sometimes finds homes for my creations. I had a stroke 4 yrs ago and it’s left me with a few problems but on the whole I’m lucky and ‘count my blessings’ every day. Yes, I make my items with love that salves my soul😍.

Hi Kate. I only found your channel just a few days ago and since then I have binged/gorged on no less than thirty six of your videos. This was the first one I watched, then I searched for and found your very first one. You have inspired me to dust off my spinning wheel and since finding your channel I have started to spin again while enjoying your company. Not only that, you have also inspired me to try my hand at quilting. Like you I never throw anything away and I have quite a few of my husband's old shirts that I might use to practise with. I really enjoyed your video where you talked of the Gee's Bend Quilters. The social history associated with textile crafts is a big part of the attraction they hold for me. I'd never heard of these women though I have read about the Underground Railroad Movement. Today we visited Tredegar House a National Trust property very local to us. One of the ways in which the volunteers raise money is by selling donated books very cheaply. I couldn't believe my luck when I found a copy of a book called 'The Quilts of Gee's Bend' by Susan Goldman Rubin for just one pound. I think I "whooped" when I pulled it from the shelf. Okay, I've babbled on enough. I just wanted to say what an absolute joy your channel is to watch. You are so generous with your knowledge and I have found myself 'dropping down a few gears' while watching. Thank you so much! Hope there's enough room on the lime green sofa for me.😉

I am learning so much from the ads playing this morning although I must admit that I am a bit tired of seeing the neighbours tourism ad I’ve been there multiple times over the years I thank you for your generosity donating ad revenue is a great thing to do.. I ve noticed that my sisters cats were not choosy beggars either. Put the scarf in front of the window to check how much the moths have been eating . I agree about the pink . I will keep on looking …oh the goose thanks for the glimpse. I do spoonerisms I like going out too watch the lanes plan . I don’t think I will forget saying that one. I was trying to get the word air port out and you know that place i mean the place the lanes plan. In my world there was one time I said you know that machine I put the dirty clothes in and they come out clean my son immediately knew what machine I meant I told him it was broken he fixed it. No spoonerisms involved in that conversation though. I certainly would be worried if it was something new. Search for words and not finding them at the tip of my tongue. I haven’t heard any one use the word hank in donkey years. Do you like exercising your arm . One inquiring mind is going to check is a skein of yarn the same as a hank. I am hankering to know. . I made a scarf that hade a pre-made moth hole well more like a big button hole to slip the end of the scarf through no need to tie half a knot LOL. Well the last politician has said his piece so off I go too . Thank you I have enjoyed our time together even though you didn’t offer any home cooking. 😮🎉❤🎉😊

OOOOOoooooo mend the green scarf with the pink yarn! Your wheel purrrs like cats ))) Boiled icicles ARE hard to ride. hahaha Cyclamen outside???? Wonderful! Spinning in the library. )) Whoever made the first niddy noddy would be so pleased to see it happily beng used centuries later. Just make a couple of half hitches with the ends of the yarn. no extra cord required. Sweet scarf )))))

I enjoy watching you so much! Whether you’re piecing a quilt or quilting one, or spinning your yarn! It’s all so relaxing! It motivates me to get some of my projects done! I may not complete them but I can get the tops done like your mum did and put them in a suitcase for someone else!

Another wonderful visit thank you so much Kate. I loved hearing about the escapades of your cheeky Goose, and seeing the different stages as your scarf came into being - it's fab and very "Kate"! Always lovely to see Anna too, your crafty conspirator xxx
