You are such a talented camera op! We were so glad to have you on our set and look forward to having you as a DP on future productions! Thank you for including Shadow Unit BTS in this video. We can't wait to have you back on our set for the rest of the season!
I wish to thank you for giving such great idea on the rig setup , especially for those who want to build with cinema lens , DJI Lidar and the Focus Pro package is somewhat impressive
Hi Michael, Thanks for your reviews. Since you show in this video the BMPCC 6K, could you share which firmware version is the one you are using? Could you (or any other owner) confirm if the connection between camera and focus is done via Bluetooth or cable? Thanks and keep doing this good job. Regards from Spain.
We have one and we are a Canon house so we are using it on the C70, R5 and C500 Mark 2 (not tested yet) - what I would like to see is a video where you show step by step how you set it up. What I mean by this is on the Blackmagic camera, show the cage you are using and how you are attaching that cage because where you put the grip and how it attaches is very important. I have yet to see a single video that demonstrates this. It always just shows an already set up unit ready to go. No one talks about the type of battery you need for the hand unit. I know what it is but it took awhile to even show that part. The setting up of the lidar is the other thing to show with calibration. I see your lidar is a lot more forward than I have typically seen. How does that work with your Blackmagic Camera's focal plane indicator or is that just ignored? How did you measure. It took us quite a bit of time to do that with the C70 because we didn't want to block the I/O on the left side of the camera. Anyway that would all be helpful. Thanks again. (Pleasure to have met you at NAB at the Blackmagic booth)
Soft focus on the eyes but tack sharp shoulders. Maybe a specular in your eyes would have helped to see if it is in focus. My eyes can't see if something is in focus in the dark like the dji lidar can.
Hey I have a question. Maybe you can help me. I have the DZO Vespid Cyber lenses. Do you know if they are supported by the Focus Pro system? I know they were designed to work with the RS3 Pro, but I’m wondering if the Focus Pro also can connect to them for automatic calibration. Thanks! Appreciate your videos and look forward to more especially when the Pyxis finally ships.
I've been hunting down the Focus Pro system and the only way to get it right now is through ali-ex they have the Lidar and Focus Pro Motor they also have the Focus Pro hand grip but for some strange reason DJI WILL NOT SHIP THAT PIECE TO USA RIGHT NOW. I asked why and they said its a "Logistics issue" It's strange at DJI right now...
You mentioned the ease of use of USB C, but DJI has a propriatery cable for the gimbal to FIZ motors at least, which doesnt work with other 100W cables or even fast transfer cables. I've tested all of my USB C cables, including TB3 cables, without luck. Just the original ones from DJI work. Aka it's not like "everyone has a cable hanging around". Is this the case of the DJI Focus pro as well?
Unfortunately, yes this is the case. You must use the DJI cables. I believe some people say you can use extensions but I believe you have to use a DJI cable first - such as into the handgrip first then out to the motor. I can’t speak to that directly because I haven’t tried it. But if DJI is going to limit the cables they need to have a variety of lengths readily available. The better option would be to just open it up to any 100w or greater cable.
@@jeremeyshelton That's even meaner than what Apple has been doing with their own cables. It gives the user false hope thinking "you've got 3 spare cables in case one breaks", instead of knowing that the lightning cable obviously cant be replaced with a usb c. Also doesnt help that videos don't talk about it
Nice! Been using it on tha gh7 w no motor controlling 10-25 1.7 pana/leica. Still trying to figure out AFM. Kinda trick bouncing back af to mf to keep from jumping to closest subject sofar. Hope to get full spectrum as using external motor.🤷🎉gremlins are real🤪Great product .Thank You
My Focus Pro just came in the mail the other day and one thing I am having trouble with is I am not sure how to set up a non par focal lens with the autofocus. I've been trying to look all over RUclips in case anyone has figured it out but it seems everyone is using cine glass. I'd love to be able to zoom and keep it in focus without having to stop and switch lens profiles. Any advice?
Does anyone know if the new LiDar rangefinder unit is any different to the previous one? Like is there any difference besides the sticker on the back or can I just update my firmware? I have the version that came out in 2022
I got a question that doesnt match this topic but i know that you use the ipad with davici. So, I have bought the ipad pro m4 from 2024, when colorgrading in davinci the color looks different then the exported verzion in the photos app on ipad and iphone. So colorgrading on ipad on the go is useless cause the saturation and contrast changes after ecport. I have turned on the reference mode and the color science in davinci to P3-65, but i cant find anybody talking about the color science, maybe it cant be set to P3? Can maybe someone help me out?
Lidar seems cool but limited.. I wished there was some sort of physical device small enough to put in a pocket or maybe on a set of keys that a camera could track or focus on... even through walls, mirrors.. but mainly to track...idk lol
Till you get on set and nothing works and everything is cumbersome lol Then you scrap and go manual! I don’t even use cages anymore! Just scratches your camera up for retail reselling value
I remember talking to one of the ARRI engineers from Germany at a convention right after the Alexa came out and they brought their wireless follow focus which was still in prototype and they said it was going to cost around $20,000 when it was released. Now you can get prosumer-level (but still great) autofocus wireless ff systems for 1/10th the price.
Nice review, the problem is it's available ... nowhere ... now I can see this in DJI online store with delivery time of 3 weeks ... last month it was not even there ....
Yep, I'm shooting a music video right now with a BMCC6K + DJI Focus Pro + Dulens Mini Primes and it is a dream.
Another great video, I'm still waiting for the DJI Focus Pro to be back in stock.
Great vid brother! Cheers to that journey to 100k and that RUclips Play Button!

Can you test that system on stiff lenses.. I want to see if it has torque or not to handle old vintage lenses.
Michael, you made nice dji-godspeed,👐
Any relation to Clive Tobin, of Tobin Cinema Services?
Soft focus on the eyes but tack sharp shoulders. Maybe a specular in your eyes would have helped to see if it is in focus. My eyes can't see if something is in focus in the dark like the dji lidar can.
I noticed that straight away too. Im surprised he didn’t mention it. Unless he did and I missed it
this intro build up is so f good man holy sh1t
Mr. Tobin, Does Davinci Resolve run better on an iPad with 16GB RAM or does it make no difference

about the chapter of the usbc cables
Not very likely:
Usb cables have to respect some standrds to be used with the motors and not any cable will work.

with the high bright 7 is a must
What Mattebox do you use with it?
Is this a sponsored review? Because there's no kit with 3 motors on sale, only reviewers did get those.

What is the name of that opening song? Great vid, btw.

the USB C cables, at least in my experience, are proprietary. We havent been able to just swap em out and have had to replace them often from DJI
Probably it has chip in it
Would this work in keeping eyes in focus on an interview setup shooting a Blackmagic full frame at say f1.8?

That’s called a focus bug. It’s a sonar based rangefinder system.
@@carlnett6677 that’s an actual thing already? No way!
Pls can you help me. How did you work out the sensor mark point on a blackmagic pocket 6K to be able to setup the dji focus Pro.
Thanks
The sensor marking is on the right top side of the P6K
@initialfocus that's because I couldn't find it on mine. Can you show me what it looks like if deferent from others
Thanks
Till you get on set and nothing works and everything is cumbersome lol Then you scrap and go manual! I don’t even use cages anymore! Just scratches your camera up for retail reselling value
I’ve been waiting on my focus pro for months I sometimes forget that I have it on order…

Blackmagic just quietly dropped "Blackmagic Camera 9.0 Update" No more beta. Havent see anyone do a video on this yet
What is the naame of the song in the beginning with the strings?
Wish they would actually sell this item.
That Nucleus M guy is fully out of focus all the time...hopefully this is not shot with de Lidar system?
Hi
Frankly great but nowhere to be found in EU…but nice try from DJI for sure…
amf missed focus rack 12:21
I'm sorry but Tilta makes garbage when it comes to electronics.
what about shitty USB C connexion ?? this is the worst and weakest connexion ever. Amazing they didn't added a lemo connexion
hisshoulder is sharp half of the time. not his face. =/ I wanna love this but I've seen this in a few videos about it
12:18 it actually does not work :D:D:D
It has been months without stock from DJI…at least they should communicate an estimate.
I have pre-order through B&H, and they told me units *should* be sent out sept 22nd
Here in Germany it’s around two months. At least that’s the time I had to wait for mine 😬🤷🏽♂️
