Details:
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a 2010 model in the BlackBerry line of smartphones. It combines a physical QWERTY keyboard with a sliding multi-touch screen display and runs on BlackBerry OS 6. Introduced on August 3, 2010, the phone became available exclusively on AT&T on August 12, 2010.
The device looks similar to existing BlackBerry devices, but due to the sliding keyboard features a bigger 3.2 inch 480x360 screen (the same resolution as the BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Storm 2) and these features allow the BlackBerry Torch 9800 to look unique. The software is seen by most to be an improvement over the previous version. The device also features far greater social network integration, a powerful universal search feature, and a WebKit browser comparable to those found on iOS and Android devices.
Processor: Marvell PXA940 running at 624 MHz
Display: 3.2 inch HVGA+(480x360)
Camera: 5.0 MP camera (JPEG encoding) with flash, 2x digital zoom, image stabilization and auto-focus Наука
I miss this phone so much! I had it for a good 2 and a half years and LOVED IT! I remember being so upset the day it gave out and I ended up getting an iPhone.
Mine also went kaput after after 2.5-3 years. I replaced it with the Nokia 920 with Windows... which was good for a while until the bottom fell out for the apps. Now I got the BlackBerry Key2.
iPhone's are good too though I've used them for work.
Saaame! I miss it so much. And I miss using bbm with friends :( ♥
sameeee, I had this phone for years!
I had the same one from November 2010 to October 2012. Mine gave up too and I got the IPhone 5. Good old BBM.
I have a blackberry torch 9850 for my phone collection
i had one but i dont know now where it is. this is nostalgic.
Da 6 yrs ago now a throwback of this video
This is the best mobile phone of all time. wish this can be brought back with updated features
Found a Blackberry Storm at the flea market yesterday, just the phone no box or accessories but it is like new, works fine and I paid only 3 euros for it.
where do you livE?? jealous :D
I’ve had a ton of different phones in the past 20 years (Androids, IPhones, Nokias, Blackberries) and this was in my Top 3. Got it in 2010. Nobody I knew had one, and the touch screen/physical keyboard was super cool for the time.
Always loved the way this phone looks.
My first smartphone back in 2009. I really loved it!
I will buy one on 2022 as 2nd phone for making calls only, and also because i was a BB Fan, thanx for the Video.
Great video. I always wanted that phone when it first came out. :)
Jonathan Hayes can you get Skype on yours?
So did I. Now it is too late? Is there anything similar?
Ohh the memories. I loved this phone so much. I would slide it back and forth just for shits and gigs. You're spot on, too.. it was a "satisfying" thump. So satisfying.
Great video! I came here because I just found one in new condition, in box, for $4 at a thrift shop. For that price and the nostalgic fuzzies I have for Blackberry, it was a no brainer. I'll never use it, but it's going to be a nice shelf decoration. :)
Wow the memories this brings. I had the same wallpaper. I loved that phone. I still use the BB classic as my daily. I hate android and apple, I just cant bring myself to move on.
Good for you, hang in there! Wish I never did. The Torch was awesome and had soooo much potential! Felt so good in your hand and looked super sharp. If they would've had the right leadership and kept making improvements, that thing would've been right there today with all the top dogs. I also had a Blackberry Bold 9000 too which was amazing!
I bought a torch 9810 today. Hello from the year 2019.
I needed a multi-band phone with long battery life and removable batteries. Hate being tethered to power cable.
Does it work well??? Who did you find as the service provider and how much monthly? I want one.
Yes please update us on how it is for a daily driver in 2019.
Nice! Good for you! I miss mine so much!
It's awesome if you can also use it as a wifi hotspot. After a few weeks my mobile provider (Cricket) shut off my hotspot privileges.
I needed the hotspot access to track metro buses in my city.
So I'm considering having two different phones. Use this for voice & text while using another device for data.
This phone easily beats my Android device when it comes to just making calls.
The web browsers available for this phone are obsolete and completely unreliable.
Didn’t they make a Spirit Level app for the BlackBerry Torch? I’m here because in light of my iPhone XS having recently been destroyed, I’ve been revisiting the adverts for gadget insurance company Protect Your Bubble! In the process, I found a viral video they did of then-mascot Squeak waiting in line to get his iPhone 5, but while he’s in line, the narrator reminds him of how his iPhone 4, 4S and BlackBerry Torch all got ruined! He accidentally drilled a hole through his Torch while using the Spirit Level app!
Man I had this when I was 10 imagine getting this in your hands as a 10 year old my mind was blown
Damn... Blackberry with rounded screen corners in 2010? Man... Blackberry was way ahead of it's time...
I’d buy an updated version of this model.
I was a mad blackberry used. I kind of miss it
It was a flex back then
Nice 👍🏼 I have ordered one here in Qatar what can you suggest? This phone is gorgeous
Good review. Thank you.
My first one lasted 7 years with me. The second one I still used, but 3g is going out by year's end.
Welp. Maybe I'll go to the Blackberry Keyone.
You should put t mobile sim card in it
@@LudicrousTorpedo Why? T Mobile is going the same route this year, supposedly.
people still use these phones?
@@kamilperwez I switched to a different carrier not long after I made this post. Had to get the free phone. (4g type phone) Maybe someday, I'll get that Blackberry again.
Loved my Torch!!
I always wanted one. What happened to it?
If it wasn’t for the iPhone 8 I would have gone back to this phone. I will never own a gesture based iPhone (no home button). I could type so fast on this phone!
What kind of charger? I couldn’t open mine
Awwww missed my torch
they could have made an OS that can run android apps and had aptoide and bb world as its app store and called it BlackberryOS 11 they could have also updated this phone’s internals but they wont do it even tho its a guaranteed money maker
I want ask what the latest os on torch 9800? Please help me and how to update my torch now on 6.0. package 2554
cool i like Blackberry
My second phone ever got at like 12 years old man
This is the best phone in the world ,
Where can I buy that phone? Please share the link. I'm from the Philippines. Thanks.
I used to dream about installing android because specs were good enough. Sadly it never became possible.
can i use spotify on this one?
is very old so I don't think so
Transfer some mp3 or cd files onto it
Which one do u suggest?
Bb torch
Bb bold 9700
??
I want to know as well!!!
This was my 2nd smart phone. I thought it was awesome, until it became quickly became a piece of crap. Returned it and got a Droid X.
@Henry Louie The biggest problem i had was with the OS. It wasn't very good compared to what Motorola had going with their Droid line at the time. I honestly don't remember how the battery life was on the Blackberry, but the OS just became slow and was un-intuitive in my opinion.
Update this, and I'm in.
Does this work in 2020
😂
I had one of these in 2011. Thought it looked pretty cool, but even then was waaaayyy too basic compared to ios and android. Oh yeah, and the back key squeaked...
@RBR does it supports 3.5mm Jack for ear phones?
@RBR buying this phone on amazon india is it genuine product? Where can I get it now a days
My phone during my Freshman & Sophomore year in High School
you sound like Cole Sprouse!!!!!
Same
This is the worst phone I've ever owned. The send and end buttons broke almost immediately. Also you couldn't access their app store with a connection to the cell network. The o/s was a steaming pile of trash. I HATE this phone. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
I love ur nails ;)
Im going to buy a 9810 bc there is no wifi triangulation so google and and apple CANNOT track me
This was my 2nd phone I honestly hated it I then moved onto Galaxy S4 and never looked back
Can u get free music
I want it for music and calling
can we download whatsapp?
Another example of trying to make keyboard-based OS touchable but failed. LOL
Can you get Skype on it
Can I get WhatsApp on this?
