I don't really get what the titles on the photos from 2:02 mean, as "ZV-E10 + lens" would be the minimum you require to get a picture, at all. It would probably be more helpful if the title said *which* lens, since you've just spoken about both the kit lens and the TTartisan lens. As such, I'm not entirely sure what lens these photos were taken with.
I also use a similar 7Artisans 35mm f1.4 manual lens on my ZV-e10. Makes super awesome quality pictures and videos! (Just no stabilization for videos... but it's worth the quality. I love how cheap these lenses are for the quality and how you can manually slowly focus on an image in a video...) I suggest setting up: Camera menu #5 (Setup1), page 2/3, set [Touch Operation] to [On] beforehand. When the focus mode is [Manual Focus], you can perform [Focus Magnifier] by double-tapping the area to focus on. (When you are in automatic focus mode with the kit lens, the double tapping on the screen won't work) And Peaking (making the focused area outlined with a color on your screen) is also super helpful for finding focus without the magnify feature. Camera menu #1 (Quality/Image Size1), page 10/11, Peaking settings (I suggest ...Display "on" Level "low" Color "White") Unfortunately, I made the English Song music video on my youtube channel before knowing how important lenses are, but it was recorded by an 11 year old girl with my ZV-e10 camera, so a manual lens wouldn't of worked anyways... 😂 Hope y'all like my English learning/music channel too! 🥰

I have a ZV-e10 for product photography. Mainly taking pics of hair extensions (just the products, without people), where I at least want most of the hair to be on focus. All that with studio lights that I'm still trying to learn to use efficiently. Most of it is done on a white or slightly textured off-white background. I'm not sure if I should get 35 or 50mm, but I'm thinking the latter. What would your recommendation be for an upgrade? This, nifty 50, or anything else? Budget isn't super important, but I would at least wish it to be a decent upgrade over the stock lens, but not that expensive that I might as well get a 2nd hand pro-grade camera.
Thank you for this awesome video! I am planning to get zv-e10 but I don't like the kit lens and still don't know what lens I should get but this made me sure of what I want hahaha. New subscriber now

I always love your content, just like this video. I am actually trying to figure out if I want to buy the 35 mm or the 50mm. And now I am also trying to figure out if the 50mm is the best option if I want to buy this 50mm or the Sony 1.8 50 mm. (This 4 months mostly outside shooting). A difficult decision for me because I am a beginner :) .
I bought this lens for taking talking head videos by myself. I used a mannequin head at about the same place I'd be sitting and focused on the head, but when I actually sit to do the video, it's not exactly in focus. I tried to do four different takes, and none of them were focused correctly. Am I missing something? Will Sony's autofocus work at all with this lens? How do I get a crispy focus with this lens when it's just me, and I have no one else to help focus on me? Thank you!
Your idea is good, try stoping the lens down to f1.4 or more, until you get a sharp image when you are in the shot. At f0.95 the depth of area that is in focus so small that even the smallest movement will make the image out of focus.

@markwiemels Hey, Mark! Thank you for the vid. I just picked up this lense to go with my ZVE10. I'm very new to photography and sony cameras and lens. My issue is, when I put the lens, it feels zoomed in even after turning off the stabilization. Is that how is it supposed to feel or is there a fix to zoom out? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm just a noob with a budding interest in photography. Thanks for your time!
Yes, it could be. With street you just want to make sure you are using a focal length that works for your style of photography. I have used 50mm for street in the past, but 23mm or 35mm are more commonly used for street.
The only way to overcome that is to close the aperture down, to f5.6-f8 or so, put the camera on a tripod, and have a long shutter speed. That lets you get more light, by leaving the shutter open longer, but only works if the subject is not moving at all.
Can you use this lens for wide angle videos?? I'm doing talking head type of RUclips vids and would like to have a blurry background but have a wide angle view as well.
@@markwiemels Thanks Mark! As a beginner, the ttartisan 17mm f1.4 would be the better choice on a personal basis at this particular point in time. I see that the ttartisan 17mm f1.4 is NOT as wide angled as the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 and that's something I'm ok with right now. However, do you know if the quality for the ttartisan 17mm f1.4 lens is good/sharp as well, especially if that lens will be used for talking head vids?? The last thing I want is to have a nice wide angle lens, but the quality it captures visuals while recording is awful...
Yes, it’s good, I use it as the second camera angle on all of my latest RUclips video. Go look at the desktop shot on any recent videos, that is the 17mm.
Why, why not say the name of the damn lens? Those who are watching on TV are left without the information that should be the most important in the video. Won block already on your first video recommended by RUclips to my profile.

50mm is a quite zoomed in focal length, so it will feel like that. It should look the same, framing wise, as using the kit lens at 50mm.
Would this be a good street photography lens?
Yes, it could be. With street you just want to make sure you are using a focal length that works for your style of photography. I have used 50mm for street in the past, but 23mm or 35mm are more commonly used for street.
Is it just me or does the lady at 0:17 somehow look like Pepper Pots of Iron Man?
What if I want to get a lot of light in for low light conditions but still don't want to have blur ?
The only way to overcome that is to close the aperture down, to f5.6-f8 or so, put the camera on a tripod, and have a long shutter speed. That lets you get more light, by leaving the shutter open longer, but only works if the subject is not moving at all.
Can you use this lens for wide angle videos?? I'm doing talking head type of RUclips vids and would like to have a blurry background but have a wide angle view as well.
No, this is 50mm, not wide enough. You want 13-17mm really.
@@markwiemels Thanks! What would be a good wide angle lens that's good for beginners (so the cost doesn't break the bank)??
Viltrox 13mm f1.4, if that’s out of the budget, then ttartisan 17mm f1.4
Thanks for the feedback.
KIndly Update Videography on this lens

I say sponsored, or free product in the video, and If I say nothing, I bought it. This is the law, but almost no one does it.
OMG, this lens is a big shit
I’ve be so lost coming from canon I’m so sure not that as a beginner this camera makes more sense unlike most these hypes to get the latest model only appreciate the info
Hmmm great lens, if you like manual focus. I don’t 😊
My camera has a buzzing sound, I film ASMR which I need silence but the camera has a background noise:( before I start recording and during!
Try a power mic, like the MKE-400 or 600.
