As someone who got the box set recently I'm surprised it hasn't gone out of print yet the tin set went out of print fast and I was expecting the same for the new set which is why I thought I would never get my hands on it but I did and I'm glad cause it's freaking awesome
Because this one isn't a limited set like the Tin Box or thee Halloween Blu Ray set was
Not only not out of print, but the price continues to float up and down.

I finally snagged this box set Summer of 2022, so I had no issues with mine. Didn't even know there was an issue with it on first release. This is my favorite box set I own. Absolutely love this one. Great video as always Christian.
That's an interesting perspective. I pre-ordered the day of release, with the poster, and don't remember having any problems. I also got all the correct discs (no duplicates), but I did have to go through the disc replacement program for the 3 films you mentioned. However, I don't remember it being a big deal. It seems like practically every box set released these days has a defective disc (Arrow's Coffin Joe set, etc). At any rate, like you said, this is a stellar set regardless of the release pains.

Yep, I had to get the replacement discs and they came on time.
I was so desperate to get this and as I am in the UK I ordered from ebay, and fair play to the seller they sent me out the replacement disks when they received them.
I don’t remember having any issues ordering it, I bought it the day of and of course got the posters.

One of my favourite boxsets in my collection and I'm so glad that Scream Factory managed to get it out despite the lawsuit I'm also surprised that it's still being sold to this day
Edit: only issues I've had with my boxset is one of the clips on the first Friday The 13th case snapped off so now the case doesn't close properly and the box itself is pretty worn down so I wish Scream Factory used a stronger material like Arrow does, might rebuy it one day and keep it in the shrink-wrap
I would just replace the case.
@austinwillcut4919 the case doesn't bother me since only one of the clips are broken so it still closes I'm tempted to rebuy the set because the actual box itself is a bit worn so i may rebuy it and either keep it in the shrink-wrap or put it in a protective case so i can preserve it as best as possible

I got the box set on release date. I remember all of this.
I forget where I had my set pre ordered from, not Shout, but my set had two copies of part 5 and no part 4. No issues getting that resolved or with the disc replacement program. I do seem to remember people were worried because they weren't getting confirmation emails for the replacements. After everything was resolved, this was hands down the best horror box set released by any of the boutique labels.
Have to say, Arrow are the KINGS of the faulty disc.
It seems almost every other release needs a replacement and now it's easier to buy directly from them as they send out replacements immediately.
I was very fortunate I ordered upon release and I filled out the form and got my replacement discs without issue, and all the movies were packaged correctly, never got duplicates and were missing others

HEY CHH,GREAT VIDEO!! MY BOX SET WAS FINE,BUT I HAD NO WAY TO PLAY THE 3D VERSION OF PART 3.SO,I BOUGHT THE BLU-RAY W/ 3D GLASSES OFF OF EBAY FOR $7 AND PUT IT INSIDE THE SET.👀👀👀
I got in on this early, so got the poster included version. Mine came in without flaws. I do remember the disc replacement and I believe I did receive those replacements. What I don't remember is, did they add the kill scenes back in the replacement? If not, then I don't remember why they were edited. Shout used to be the end-all-be-all in film restoration and bluray releases. Then they started messing up. If you thought the Friday the 13th boxed set was flawed....the Bruce Lee boxed set Shout did was far worse. They included a version of Return of the Dragon that was so blurry, you couldn't tell if it was Bruce Lee on screen or not. Instead of fixing the problem by giving people the more updated scan, they decided to re-release all the movies again, all corrected; not even 6 months later. It was around this time that Shout releases started losing their luster and brands like Arrow Video, Severin and Vinegar Syndrome, and even Scorpion Releasing, quickly eclipsed Shout's restorative efforts. Shout made a bit of a come back with their 4K releases. Maybe they'll start releasing F13 in 4K....
Keep up the great work man! I remember ordering this when it came out in part because of the difficulty in obtaining the Halloween box set (no fomo here though 😂) it’s definitely a great set, and I received my corrected discs. It’s a cool set!
I bought this last year (me and my friend did a marathon) and it's hands down, the crown jewel of my collection, hoping for a Freddy set like this!
Got this during the pandemic. Had a great time marathoning these as the F13 movies always brought back great memories. The timing of the boxset was perfect. They were quick to send me the faulty discs.
The character who got his arm bent back is called Ward.
Luckily I got a very good box set no mistakes and I got my three disc Replacements in the mail perfectly

I bought this sometime when it first came out but I never opened it and didn’t really intend to, so if it’s messed up that’s pretty upsetting
I love the set! I'm really shocked its been available for so long at a decent price. I really thought it would go out of print right away.
So I pre-ordered the box set and got the posters and replacement discs, but while I love the set, they cheaped out on FvJ and F13 2009. I say that because those two discs were holdovers of the New Line/WB releases. I felt disappointed by that fact because I would have loved to see what Shout/Scream Factory would have done features-wise and even though they were newer, probably could have used a bit of remastering, but the rest of the set makes up for it. Though I do wish I still had a 3D TV to finally see Part 3 properly.
I was okay with not having the mask cover for Part 5, but it was disappointing not to have the NY one for Part 8.
I don't think they're allowed to use it; I believe the NY Mayor's Office complained.
I was so hyped when for this boxset to come since this is my all time movie franchise. Yep it did have some problems like you said but I'm happy to own this set.
The problems were minor and fixed relatively quickly. Disastrous is a bit of hyperbole. Scream Factory sucks lately, but they did a solid job with this.
I wouldn’t call it horrifying or disastrous….sure there were some errors with Part III’s 3D opening credits, Jason Goes To Hell’s one kill scene, and something in Jason X…..but I don’t have a 3D TV and dont care about Jason X. Scream Factory issued replacement discs and I got em without any issue, without losing any sleep or complaining about it online. 🤷🏻♂️. It’s a great set.
Never open my set so it's unknown if I have doubles.

I remember one of my discs came scratched so I had to send it back. But yea I agree it’s one of the best box sets I own
I remember when I got mine and heard about the problems and luckily all the movies were in the set but yes had to get replacement discs! It's unfortunate these mistakes happened and I know they were still adding stuff to the last minute but yes mistakes were make and they never should have happened! It is a great set despite the issues!
I didn't get duplicate films but I did have the 3 incorrect error discs but got the replacements no problem
Yeah it was a mess that Scream Factory made, but they corrected the error.
See, I remember in Scream Factory's first few years they released a 3 disc set of Army Of Darkness. This was 2015. They did a disc replacement for that one too. Wasn't no big deal. So, I fall somewhere in between. The F13 is how many discs? Sheet happens.
On one hand, I get it. They need better quality control. On the other hand, SF has to my knowledge been good at doing disc replacements. That and to me it seems that more and more SF fans in fact are being ungrateful. Or acting entitled.
Don't believe me? Go and read the comments on SF announcements. ("Why you releasing that?" "Why don't you release this" "I want this" "I want that") It's like SF had been pumping out gems left and right, but all people seem to remember are the fails"
It's because these issues with Scream Factory releases don't happen just every once and a while, they happen constantly. Shout Factory is so consistent with their mishaps that people simply anticipate it now. They aren't getting flak for no reason, they've done a lot over the years to polarize their customers.
I still have fantasy about Lisa Ryder who played Km in Jason X.
Well damn I never even knew about replacement discs lol I am guessing it’s too late for that, not sure if I even have the errors that are being spoken about
I’m only playing devil’s advocate for the replacement program part, as many of us got the box from other retailers, I got it thru Amazon Mexico and got my replacements in a snap! Yes, the point of someone reviewing the masters before putting them on disc, should be done with more care. Lately I’ve seen than even Criterion has run into that type of issues.

Yep... before I even got to the replacement part, I had to get a part 2 from them.
I had 2 part 5's.
I took a pic of the box, emailed it to them and they sent my part 2... they never asked for the part 5 back so I have a duplicate pt. 5 now.
I just recently ordered from Amazon and thought I wouldn't get the replacement discs ...the original site was down but Scream Factory came through 👌
I got three disc replaced but I got the posters after trying 3 different times to order. Indeed the site got overloaded and crashed. From what I remember it was hit or miss for about 3 hours.
I got lucky and had all of the correct movies in the box set..

I remember this mess.
I bought mine last year when they dropped the price to around 80 bucks and spent the whole shipping time in complete anxiety because of the whole fucked up disc thing and hearing people got their sets completely smashed. Was so relieved when it arrived intact in perfect condition with the discs corrected. Still a crown jewel in my collection.
I got mine at the same sale (or one like it)
I ripped part 9 and 10 and used muxing / lossless editing software to fix the errors myself while I waited for the replacement discs. First time I preordered something!
I was able to pre-order day one and got the posters. I was lucky enough to not have any scratched discs or any packaging issues. The only issue I had was with Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X which was fixed with replacement discs.

I got lucky and didn’t have any issues, thank goodness. Btw, unless you’re buying “Oppenheimer” or some other Oscar-worthy film, finding some movies on DVD is getting more difficult by the day.

Got mine day one at Best Buy and it had two copies of Part 2 instead of Part 3 which I did not notice until I got home. Went and returned it for the other one they had and there was cuts on all the individual cases and a crack on the back of the box. Still have that one to this day and it bothers me so much
Damn, I heard about the issues with discs initially.
I didn't get the set at release because I already had Paramount's 1-8 collection. Plus Freddy vs Jason and the reboot by themselves, and I couldn't justify buying a 12 movie set when I already had 10 of them
......Flash forward 2 years, and I actually replaced a handful of movies in my collection with Scream Factory copies. I had no more excuses lol.
I'm glad I eventually got it though. I consider it, along with the Scream Factory Halloween 4Ks, the pride and joy of my collection.

I was really pleased with the set, and got my replacement discs pretty quickly (by Shout Factory standards at least). I wish more original poster art was utilized, I wish the special features had been more comprehensive by including Crystal Lake Memories and the such. I wish Part 3 included anaglyph 3D for those of us that don't have 3D TVs. But most of all, I wish Part 5 was remastered in 4K!!!
I'll never understand the "give Scream Factory a pass when they screw up" crowd. That attitude is the antithesis of what film preservation/archivism is about.
What did you do with the old discs once you got the replacements? Is there any collectibility to the discs that had errors? (I gave mine away lol)
I recently kind of had an opposite thing happen, I ordered the regular bluray Kino Lorber Leviathan seeing how I don't have a 4k setup and with the bluray being less then $20 and the 4k/bluray being $39.99🤷♂️- that wasn't a hard choice to make but I actually got the 4k/bluray instead. It's funny because the slip doesn't have any thing with 4k on it but the actual case is the 4k case with the 4k logo at the top with the 4k disc and bluray disc inside, so I wonder if it was just a packing-goof but that sucks for people who actually paid the $39.99 for the 4k when I got one for less then $20 and I don't even have 4k and it's funny how Kino will put seperate blurays out for certain titles like Leviathan but just the 4k/bluray for Kindergarten Cop. 🤷♂️
As someone who grew up with FT13 super young i seen these films when i was 4-5 yrs old due to having a psychopathic older brother (I know FT13 1-8 beat by beat) It’s very strange when FT13th fans play the consumer advocate (We are the biggest marks) The series has been bastardized by The Studios and owners of the IP the last 25yrs between countless dvd’s releases (including 4 different box sets) single blu-ray release, double set blu-rays, two different blu-ray box sets the countless merchandise a video game (That was insulting mostly made to probably launder money) I pre-ordered the box set within 48hrs had no real issues got the Poster got the replacement disc (SF did right by the consumers) With all honesty due to the chaos globally at that time we should all be happy the box set wasn’t canceled or pushed back years. Us Friday the 13th fans are the biggest suckers because we keep getting feed gruel and continue to say “ please Sir may i have some more”
I heard soo much which was why i never got it. Plus paramount has been releasing the anniversary 4k versions. They already did for PART 1, 2 & 3 plus this year they are releasing the 40th anniversary of part 4. Scream Factory fumbled bad.
Ordered my F13 Boxset the first day the pre-order went up. Had to get the disc replacements on that third party site which I thought was odd. I had flashbacks to the infamous Back to the Future DVD boxset errors for Part II & III that you had to call a number and they would send you the corrected replacement discs. Fun stuff 👎

You also forgot to mention they originally announced it as a set limited to 10,000 copies to stoke fomo only to quietly remove that wording after everyone bought at the super inflated direct from Shout price.

Didn't hey have issues with the original halloween blu ray boxset? They had to send replacement disc's for two of the films.
A lot of the cut scenes were destroyed in a fire, and I remember an actress who went naked in a scene but because she was under age it was cut the actress is in her 50s now.
WHat about them saying this was limited to 13,000? Then how are they still selling them?THen what about for the posters that was limited to like 1313. Then after that sold out they bumped it up to 7000 posters. This is the first time I ever pre-ordered any box set. I got the original 1313 posters. I ordered it just for the low number. Then they added way more. THen this is always on sale for like $80. And I paided way more for this limited to "13,000" bluray box set.
Don't let that initial and original Physical release!!
Scream Factory sent me replacement disc's for free that fixed the issues!
I believe I had an easier time with the replacement program than some other people. Maybe I was lucky, I guess. I ordered the box set on Amazon shortly after it was released (it was either before or after the errors were announced. I'm not sure). Either way, I remember testing Jason Goes To Hell, and sure enough, it was the edited version. I'd also assumed that part 3 and X had the same problems other people had. So I went to the site Shout recommend and went through the replacement program. I provided them my receipt and photos of the discs.
A couple days after that, I received a confirmation email telling me that they received my information and that it would take a while for my replacement discs to arrive. I believe it took a little while because of how long it would take to make new discs as well as the demands from other customers.
Eventually, I received my replacements (sometime around mid to late December, 2020), and they played perfectly fine. I've never regretted purchasing this box set and it still sits proudly on my shelf. I even made a few adjustment to the set, mainly adding the Crystal Lake memories documentary to the box.

Quality control during COVID was a mess.
I bought mine on Amazon so I don't know how that would work as far as a replacement goes part 3 isn't a big deal for me I have never watched it in 3D and I own Jason goes To Hell on DVD and I believe it has both cuts of the film I would have to buy a DVD of Jason X and then watch the Blu-ray again what scene is missing from the film I still think it's a awesome set one of the best of all time I'm never getting rid of it but there's no excuse for Scream Factory's screwup

Buy the boxset. The only one available on 4K is the original (with 1-4 having 4K masters) and the rest are 2K only. Everything after 4 won't get a 4K, the set is amazing and worth every dollar!

I remember i got it at best buy. the defective discs were ; a problem. but no matter what. if youre a true ; Friday the 13th/ jason fan its not that ; important. i wish i would have gotten the ; set with the posters. people complained too much. me personally; i had all the discs . didnt have to replace one because it was the same . but i understand how it was all a fumble of scream factory. they fd up
U do have to remember thou this box set was made at the start of the shutdowns so taking that into consideration they did pretty good and the fact they sent those replacement discs to everyone is amazing no other company would have done that

Not a big fan of the franchise, but I bought it when it came out and have held on to it still unopened. I got the one that came with the posters and lithograph and made sure to get the replacement discs as well. Hoping to get rid of it on eBay at some point I guess.

@@tellemstevedave5559 Haha, I looked at it as an investment. I had seen how much that metal tin collection one was sought after so I figured I’d grab that one. Doesn’t look like the value is that high really though so didn’t really work out for me in the long run.
