3/4 cup of tallow to 4tbsp of honey.
I make goat milk soap and lotion to soothe eczema . One thing about honey, know why they give the little wooden honey dippers? Metal spoons and beaters kill the healing properties in honey.
How would you mix the honey in if metal does this?
@@oleos93I just dont use it in a balm there are other things I’d rather use. I use honey in soaps more for the smell and color then the healing properties.
Aww the little person in the background is so cute
Love seeing young ladies open about their faith and using natural methods that God has provided us
Very nice.
Thank you for making this! I'm considering trying tallow on my skin, but every recipe I see keeps recommending oils. Nice to see a recipe that uses honey instead!
Great video. How long did it take to harden? Also how does it smell?
Thank you for this….what are the percentages in use?
Hi, thank you for sharing this video. I hope you are not using aluminium pot. I just read that esencial oils are bed for you. The best it to make it yourself. All the best.
Does it need to be refrigerated and what is the shelf life?
where do you get your tallow from? kindly provide a link. thank you.
Do you store this in the fridge ??
I made this yesterday and it’s really sticky 😬
The carnivore diet gets rid of it.
Followed the recipe but it was too sticky. Organic jojoba oil is the best oil in my opinion to blend with tallow, it’s very close to our skin’s natural sebum so it absorbs quickly and feels wonderful. The honey recipe was just too sticky for my preference.
That’s exactly what I thought! I made it yesterday and goodness it’s sticky! 😬 I have to wash my hands after putting it on my face unless I want to become a lint ball. Plus I can’t stand feeling sticky.
Just tallow? No oils? Won't it solidify and get hard like tallow usually does...?
I'm assuming the honey keeps it soft since honey is liquid.
Tallow is a solid oil.
I heard that honey is on the unsafe side when in heated
Liquid. Can that tallow get cooled placing over an ice bath before honey gets added?
This is why I put honey in lukewarm tea from now on due to what I read how it’s beneficial structure changed wit h heat. Do not remember where I saw that even!!! Do not know if it becomes a toxic element or if it merely lost its good content. I’m senior and retained the one part, no hot liquid with honey! Please check on it for your own knowledge.
I just did some research on heated honey. It will lose some of its benefits when heated for prolonged periods of time but is not harmful. I will try adding honey as the tallow chills on an ice bowl tomorrow. I hope that will work.
I think you might be confusing it with heating oils, like olive oil, which does become toxic when heated. Honey will lose its benefits, only if it is raw. Honey, that is not raw, was already heated to pasteurize it.
The real challenge is making the tallow, gotta find a butcher to sell you just fat, cook it in the crock pot for hours (nearly all day), and repeat to purify... its rough
Mine only takes about 2 hours to melt the fat, why all day?
Chop fat or grind it very small. Put it in a Dutch oven on 225 degrees for a couple of hours. Works great
Where did you store it. It wasn’t glue sticky like from honey? Looks good for skin, face.
I was wondering the same thing about stickyness. Did you ever figure this out?
@@arielkrauser9343 I made it. It's not sticky. An other variant which I added beeswax aswell (together with the honey) - even though a low amount - it made it very sticky.
mine came out sticky :/ going to stick with buying tallow balm haha!
