Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. If it is penthouse elevator why does it stop at more than one floor? And why did some of them get out then get back on, go to the next floor, then one of them left and the others ride up more? I don't understand what was going on fully.
I’m glad they show the clip of Amber throwing rubbish over shoulder before getting into the lift so someone else can clear it up. I’ve never forgotten that clip because it speaks volumes about her character. I hate that.

There are about 5 penthouses in that building on the top floor and Johnny owns all of them and Amber has all her friends living in each separate penthouse for free, with no rental payments at all! I love how,at the end of the day, the judge admonished the lawyers they have to speed it up or they would be out of time and SHE wld end it by Memorial Day regardless! I think it's Amber's side who is slowest.They take forever getting their IT stuff set up and they ask and repeat their questions many,many times and object and then object again to suck up time! The judge sustains questions from Amber's lawyers for lack of foundation or relevance,and then,instead of re-phrasing,they ask the same questions again!!I don't expect trials to be speedy but this is moving along at a glacial pace.Johnnie's friend's testimony was the highlight of the day!
I agree and that's what I said in the first day. Amber's Attorney asked the same questions over and over and that's why it's taking sooooo long. It's like if the witness doesn't remember move on, but nope he has to keep asking as he is calling her Johnny's brother. SMDH

Lip reading is extremely unreliable, there’s so many words and phrases that use the same movements as each other, even deaf people have a hard time doing it with people they don’t spend a lot of time with and when strangers go beyond saying some of the typical basic things that are said between strangers interacting in public

These people are so privileged. Imagine us po folks even finding an attorney to take an assault case with a lot more than a red mark on your check . But , if theses are GOOD lawyers , oh my no wonder the judicial system is so screwed up.
Watching that deposition was incredibly boring and time consuming. I don't understand that they couldn't find a simpler solution. Like having him say that everything they are going to present to the jury is authentic just once and for all. I love how Judge Penny seemed to give both lawyer teams a symbolic head knuckle by saying that the trial will be over after 24 days no matter what and that they have to volume up the pace.
