Transformer G1 Returns! AKA "Transformers Unofficial" is an independently made continuation of the original "The Transformers" cartoon series made by Sunbow, picking up right where the last episode "The Rebirth, Part 3" left off. This mini series was created to demonstrate to Hasbro that a small independent film studio can produce a product of comparable quality to the original on a limited budget. It is our hope that we can generate enough interest in the project that Hasbro will consider an official online web series continuation of the G1 cartoon.

This transformative remix work constitutes a fair-use of any copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US copyright law. Each of the 4 points of section 107 are addressed individually below with our comments following the *asteriks:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; *The purpose of this video series is to demonstrate to the copyright holder, Hasbro, that A) There is a sizable market for a continuation of their original cartoon series and B) Modern technology has advanced over the past 30 years to the point that a small group of independent film makers are able to produce a work of comparable quality to that of the original work on an extremely small budget. The use of this video series is not commercial in nature, it is hosted on a non-monetized RUclips account and the creators do not profit from the material in any way. The purpose of posting the videos online publicly is to generate enough views and interest that the copyright holder will take notice and respond to fans wishes of continuing the original series. Secondly, since no official continuation of the original work exists, publicly posting this unofficial continuation benefits the members of the public who wish to see the storyline continued.
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work; *The original work is an animated series of light hearted stories aimed at children which were for the most part, individual stories independent from one another. Our work meets the definition of "transformative" or "derivative" as this series seeks to present an overarching storyline throughout the entire series with harsher tones aimed at an adult audience.
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; *Like any remix, the original work is heavily featured however, it is used in a transformative nature as described in point 2. In addition, all storylines and dialogue are new and independant of the original work. A comparative ratio of new to original material would be difficult to gauge but in general, all visuals, sound effects and music are from the original work while all dialogue and storytelling angles are new material.
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work; *This series is being distributed solely for fans of the original "The Transformers" series which has not produced a new episode since 1987. It is not related to, nor meant to draw attention away from any current Transformers broadcasts by Hasbro. We ask that viewers watch all official Transformers media before watching this series. It would in fact, only make sense to a reasonable person to view the original work prior to this series since it follows the original work's fiction chronologically. It is also possible that this series may in fact create increased interest in Hasbro's "Generations" Transformers toyline which is related to the original Transformers series which this work is based upon since the original toyline saw a significant boost in sales due to it's supporting work of fiction at the time. Finally, given the use of the word "Unofficial" in the title and highly visible disclaimers before, after and in the video description of each episode stating that this work is in no way related to Hasbro, any reasonable person should be able to differentiate this from an official Hasbro product. Thus, any negativity associated with this series should not impact Hasbro in any way.

An awesome continuation of The Transformers G1 show with good voice-acting, good storylines, good animation that flawless combines together in an breathtaking spectacle. Five years ago, you guys made Transformers G1 UNOFFICIAL Episode 105: "Pretender to the Throne" Part 1 (Fan made) and then never made a Part 2 or 3.
Will there be a Part 2 or 3?

One of those lingering disappointments from my childhood was how Transformers came to an abrupt end. I was six years old at that time. Years later, I tracked down some foreign DVDs of the later episodes that were Japan-only continuations. I rather enjoyed the Headmasters, but was sore that they killed off Optimus again within the first few episodes. The other two shows, Masterforce and Victory, sort of went off into left field and didn't feel as connected with the previous shows.
Then, I happen to come across this on RUclips, a fan made continuation. Fantastic voice work, and near-seamless editing of material from all shows in the G1 line to create something special. This feels like a true continuation from where the original series left off nearly 30 years ago. Please keep up the good work, I am really enjoying the fruits of your hard work and dedication.

note: for the darkside of the moon episode how about throw in brave maximus built by the quintessons to be Optimus prime back up and suggestion for unicron who was left out in Japanese continuation of series and let's say he have new body and becomes black zarak or whatever name u guys choose for him in the story arc...

I really hope y'all could somethin like for the teenage mutant ninja turtle cartoons that were from the late 80's to the mid 90's. because this Transformers unofficial continuation is so awesome.
If i remembered correctly, some guys on your videos commented that you should re-do Scramble City and expand it to showcased how the Decepticons took over Cybertron prior to the Movie. And i agree with them.
Scramble City has been re-done several times by different groups over the years, we've got no plans to add to that. We do however plan to do new original episodes set between season 2 and the movie; there's a lot of potential stories there. That's a ways off though as we still have to finish our current season and there's still a lot of episodes left.
That's good. at least there would be a bridge on the gap between the Season 2 and The Movie where as the Decepticons succeeded in invading Cybertron.

Yes, it's Prime. Any Japanese exclusive characters you see used will be going by American series style names.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I'm not even sure who Black Shadow is? Does he appear in any of the Japanes G1 shows? I'd love to have Thunderwing make an appearance! And to answer your question, any characters who have an "American" name will be using that moniker, yes.
Fanatic Films - Transformers G1 Fan-made Cartoon Black Shadow and his partner Blue Bacchus were characters in Victory. They're pretty much the Japanese equivalents of Thunderwing and Crossblades (the same way Ginrai is to Powermaster Prime, etc.), except they have entirely different color schemes, and in Black Shadow's case, slightly different design. They only appeared in one episode.

Hmmm one thing that sticks with me - at college my friend said " Megatron speaks like he wants to shit" lol anyway on a serious note well done for this! Megatron's voice wont be easy to replicate - You should try replicate all the UK comics as animated with the cool shockwave story......
Will you keep Optimus Prime as overall commander of the Autobot faction and Powermaster Optimus Prime as an separate sub-commander of the Powermaster?
Will you bring back Megatron as overall commander of the Decepticon faction and Galvatron as sub-commander?
There is a gap in The Transformers Movie and show storyline to be filled. When Unicron scans Megatron to create Galvatron, you can have an sidestory that Megatron was left floating in space to be rescued and patched up and to rule again over the Decepticon faction.
80sTVFilmMusic&Merchandise Fan That makes no sense. Galvatron is the upgraded form of Megatron, built from the remains of his entire body. Powermaster Optimus is literally Optimus Prime with armor.
It is The Transformers, anything is possible.
I hope to see Megatron, thundercracker, starscream, sky warp and reflector in a episode where the quintessons bring them back and they try to do battle with galvatron and lord zarak. but then they all team up and try to stop the quintessons and the autobots and Optimus prime and rodimus prime team to stop Megatron, galvatron and lord zaraks reign of destruction on earth
When's the third episode?
Third episode has been up for a while now. We're on episode 6 which should be up in November although there's a slight chance it might make it out by October.

No plans to involve Fort Max in the immediate future but perhaps down the road! Oh and the series already debuted; this is just an ad made to get the word out for the future episodes. Check our channel for the first 6 episodes.
