    This video is pretty terrific. Just wanted to share a couple expressions that I've read/heard in Hong Kong and in the mainland. I think the terms presented in the video for these things are more common in Taiwan.
    发帖 = fā tiē = to post [on a website]
    (写)评论 = (xiě) píng lùn = (write) a comment [on Facebook/Weibo, etc]
    分享 = fēn xiǎng = share/forward [an online article, pic, etc.]

    Thanks for the video, everything I have seen so far from you has been great. As a suggestion, I think it would be very helpful if you kept the character and pronunciation in the background of the video as you explain it. This would help link visual and auditory learning styles more than pausing to remember the character and then listening to what you say about the word.

    Fun fact: The show Ben mentioned at 12:10 is a Chinese adaptation of the German sketch comedy show "Knallerfrauen", because the original is apparently very popular in China. :)
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knallerfrauen
    They even made a sketch together with Martina Hill (the German actress), which you can find here at the 9:00 min mark:

    I noticed a mistake in the video. 非 does not mean “not” in 非死不可. It means "must" here. 非...(不可) means must do something.

    • @learnchinesenow
      @learnchinesenow  9 лет назад +15

      +Patchy .E. fei is a negative word usually used to negate nouns, it is usually only used in classical or formal chinese, but the grammer structure 非...不可 fei...bu ke is a standard "double negative structure", it meant "not....not ok" so basically "you must..." in this case "you must die"

    • @ThangHuynh10
      @ThangHuynh10 8 лет назад +1

      +Patchy .E. 非means "NOT", 不可 means not possible. because 可is from 可以/ 可能。 The sentence means it's impossible to not die.

    I always loved the 部落格 translation, since not only is it a neat transliteration, it is also means, literally, "tribe square". That means every visitors to your blog is also visiting the little corner of the world that you created, inside the little square on your desk (computer screen)!
