  • This video is an introduction to a new series I'm doing where we look at the installation of a new fire alarm system protecting a 5-story senior living building. It previews future videos where we'll look at some of the following topics related to fire alarm system installation:
    Wiring in style 6 SLC circuits
    Isolation modules
    Installing smoke detectors with sounder bases
    Fire door release
    Smoke damper closure
    Speaker system activation
    Voice system installation
    FCPS power supply installation
    Ansul kitchen hood monitoring
    Duct detector installation
    Sprinkler system monitoring
    Elevator recall
    Elevator shunt trip
    Fire pump monitoring
    I plan to keep putting out more videos on this one hypothetical building until the system is complete.

    First off, I want to thank you for all of the effort and content you have provided. Even if some of it is well known to some of us, it is an excellent resource for briefing new techs, and even curious friends and family!
    2nd - I really appreciate this kind of video series! I know how NACs and all items of the system work, but it is extremely interesting to see how an entire system in a very large (multiple floors, many rooms, etc) setup is planned. Particularly since I am not an official fire tech, nor have any first hand examining of such setups in person.

    Hey man, love your videos.
    Hope you can get through for the wiring configuration for the Ansul interfacing. Specially for the shutoff of electric appliances under the hood...
    Condition:
    1. Some cooking equipment under the hood has its circuit breaker where you can put shunt trip device...
    2. The other cooking equipment under the hood are connected to a branch circuit. And told that you cannot shunt trip the main breaker because there are branch circuit for lightings, mini-freezers , and other appliances serving in other area.
    Hope this will have in your future videos... :)

    Curious y you did not use ACPS-610 on this. To reduce FCPS & FCM + FMM

    • @JoeKlochan
      @JoeKlochan  4 года назад +1

      That's a fair question. I suppose the answer is a mix between the following three answers:
      1. This way will show people some of the different uses of conventional power supplies.
      2. The addressable NAC panel would make these even more Notifier-specific than it already will be, whereas just using control and monitor modules makes it more applicable to other manufacturers as well.
      3. The company I used to work for avoided those things like the plague (for the life of me I could never understand why), and so I don't think I've ever used them.

    Hi my sir...
    How you can repair the net work in system?

    • @JoeKlochan
      @JoeKlochan  4 года назад

      That's a hard question to answer, there are a lot of variables. If it's a wired network, there are cables connecting the buildings together. If one building loses communication, troubleshoot the wires. That would be the same with fiber. You could also have a network card failing.
