Great train action along the rails of the Fort Worth & Western Railroad! The FWWR operates their long trains of frac sand and other commodities across their rail system that features 276 miles of rolling landscape in scenic north central Texas, USA.
Starting in Fort Worth, you'll see the Forth Worth & Western's Hodge Yard with switching and city locals, plus Forth Worth Hot Spots at Tower 55 & 60. This busy trackage is shared with the BNSF, Union Pacific and Amtrak. Fort Worth & Western road freights are covered along their scenic Dublin subdivision which includes the spectacular Mustang Creek Trestle, Lake Granbury and several depots.
There's also FWWR local and switching action on the Cleburne and Gorman branch lines. Plus a segment on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad with a tourist train going to the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District. FWWR diesel models include: GP38, GP38-3, GP40, GP40-2, GP50, SD40R, SD40-2 and Genset 2GS14. Rail footage era 2013.

The railroad of my childhood. I was born in a town along the FWWR and this was the first railroad I grew up around.

I worked for them in 1996 as a brakeman/conductor. At that time we had 3 freight jobs and the Tarantula passenger train. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed and grew with the company instead of going to a Class 1. Cool video, thanks for sharing.

#2003 looks like part gp35 and part gp38. Is that a genset?

The 2003 was built in 1965 as a GP35 and later rebuilt to a GP38-3. The FWWR also operates two unique looking 2GS-14B gensets FWWR 2013 and the 2014

Thank you for your comment. In the future we will keep your suggestion in mind for new releases and new video clips. This clip, like some of our older programs, were created years ago and were not edited with RUclips in mind.
We appreciate your input. Thank you for watching!
