Devilman is my favorite manga of all time. May not be the best, but it's short, mind-blowing and actually has an ending.
I remember reading all 5 volumes in a weekend and loving it. It's a shame the Netflix series has overshadowed it.
So while I Love it, i always thought my copy was messed up, but maybe not. Ryo literally has an underground nightclub under his house? And there's like 100 ppl there but no cars around his house. Maybe another entrance somewhere? idk. Everything about the manga is great imo. Just that one silly thing imo

This is awesome!If you are doing this is there a chance you would do Ashita no Joe?The ultimate classic imo,whit amazing human drama,that is actually very believable and overall amazingly written.It is the entire reason Hajime no Ippo exist (which is also amazing btw), basically.Keep up the great work my dude!

It aged fine for all contents...but not so good for graphics and drawings (too old style, imho).
But i love it soooo much.
@@fridajones5003 story is great, but the art looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old (and I do not mean to disrespect Go Nagai)
I recommend lone wolf and cub if you wants to see another very old manga that aged very well. The arts and story is a timeless masterpiece.
I can see how much this inspired shows like Parasyte, truly a classic
Thanks for covering this! I still think Devilman needs more recognition here in the US than just the Crybaby adaptation (which I believe it's still a great adaptation BTW).
The last arc and the ending will blow your mind

Devil man is one of those manga/anime that fooled you with the art style and then traumatized you. Same shit applied to that Remi the orphan shit

@ReallifeRyan Devil man was actually the first anime I watched when I was in middle school followed by berserk and Ranma 1 1/2 but as far as manga goes it wasn't until I discovered your channal that I got into it , fun fact I got my daughter Ava Rei ( yes my lil girl's middle name is Japanese) and little cousin Into anime and just ordered their first mangas for my daughter I got demon slayer wich is definitely worth checking out the artwork is beautiful and for my cousin I got him the first chapter of my hero Academia 💖😁

Mazinger I feel has a more influence on neon genesis, it's made by the same guy. I would rewatch the anime adaptations after youve read it, you'll probably enjoy it more. There's also an anime from the 70s you could watch if you wanna laugh lol.

Devilman Crybaby is a great anime on its own but it's an insult to the original Devilman in my opinion. It has amazing subtle easter eggs and an absolutely amazing soundtrack.
